In The Empire Strikes Back Minutes 71-75, Yoda raises the ship while Luke looks on in disbelief. Oboist Trevor Mowry and Father David Mowry return to SWMM to talk about this emotional cue (complete with the best E Maj7 chord ever), the "Peter and Wolf"-like instrumentation (are you team French horn or team trumpet?), the expansiveness of Yoda's theme, and the tactility of Star Wars sound design. We also cover a fantastic listener question from Tim B! "The Mos Eisley Spaceport...you'll never find a more wretched hive of scum, and villainy....we must be cautious." "In a far off corner of the universe, on the small desert planet of Tatooine, there is a dark, nic-i-tain-filled cantina where you can down your favorite intoxicant while listening to the best jizz riffs in the universe." Don't worry....you have the Dweeber crew at your side, and that means free drinks for all....even from a tight fisted barkeep like Wuher. On this Deeper Delve we begin our foray into the every dark and dingy recess of the famous Mos Eisley Cantina, as we review the stories in 1995's Tales From the Mos Eisley Cantina" edited by Kevin J Anderson. We'll start with two of the more well known of the Cantina's patrons: Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes, and Greedo! So grab a mug of Juri Juice and give a listen......the desert winds of Tatooine are hot, but the smooth sounds of Figrin D'an's Jizz will keep you feelin' cool!

In this episode we discuss the most talented species in the galaxy and not the Modal Nodes because we already did them - we know, you don’t need to message us.
The '80s were an eclectic time for fictional bands. Jem and The Holograms gave us many a bop, Sexual Chocolate gave us the mic drop and Spinal Tap gave us an icon. And this week in fangirling: Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes and Dr. Jart+ rubber masks. Side note: The Fangirls do NOT know anything about Star Wars, but we have learned that The Cantina Band is called Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes. Additionally, we now realize it's a pageant in Coming to America and the song performed in the pod is actually "Rock 'N' Roll Creation."
