Yesterday, Mike unpacked how and why he was wrong about the Central Park Karen story, and today he has a couple more points to make about his wrongness. Then rewind back to 2018, when, with the Muller investigation filling the headlines, the Ranking Member of the House Intelligence Committee, Devin Nunes issued a memo titled "Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act Abuses at the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation," alleging that the Steele Dossier was nonsense. When the memo surfaced, Mike had a ball calling Nunes a "nincompoop" for issuing it, and for just generally being a nincompoop (which is a fun word, you have to admit), but since then, Mike's position on the matter has changed, and he wants to explain how. When did the FBI investigation into the Trump presidential campaign begin? Was Congress properly briefed at the time? Just what exactly are the “protodossiers,” and how did they contribute to the development of the now-infamous Steele dossier? What parallels are there between the Spygate scandal and the current Trump impeachment inquiry, and what is the role of the media in all this? This is American Thought Leaders

On Not Firing Mueller. We chronicle the Media's current obsession with Trump NOT having fired Special Counsel Robert Mueller. We are led to conclude that Democrats have long been hoping Trump would fire Mueller, and are very disappointed that it hasn't happened, and are thus presently propagandizing to make it seem as though Trump actually HAD fired Mueller. Why the wishcasting? We speculate. Perhaps a Mueller-firing would have been the only thing that could have legitimized this fraudulent, empty investigation. Perhaps the Left has even been gambling on a firing, and has long been attempting to goad Trump into making such a move -- but Trump never did take the bait. We sample related audio from CNN's Chris Cuomo and Mary Katharine Ham. Anthony Scaramucci says it's all an "irrelevant" distraction. NBC's Tom Brokaw agrees, calling it a "non-issue." Meanwhile, we share our deepening doubts about Rep. Trey Gowdy, and consider the mysterious recusal of FISA Court Judge Rudolph Contreras. Also, we relay breaking news that the House Intelligence Committee will hold a Monday vote on releasing the Nunes Memo. Time for some yodelling?
