As anti-ICE protests persist in Los Angeles, California Governor Gavin Newsom is working to regain control of the thousands of National Guard and Marine Corps troops deployed in the city. Both he and LA Mayor Karen Bass have attributed the violence at the demonstrations to the military's presence. Meanwhile, President Trump argues that he has saved the City of Angels from being destroyed. Florida Senator Ashley Moody (R-FL) joins the Rundown to discuss the crackdown on illegal immigration and border security. The shocking execution of a Minnesota lawmaker and her husband has left politicians across the nation scrambling for answers and assurances about their own personal security details. While authorities have the suspected gunman in custody, this act of political violence strikes an uncomfortably familiar tone to political assassination attempts in previous months. Former federal prosecutor and four-term congressman Trey Gowdy joins the Rundown to analyze the psychological motivations of the suspected killer and addresses the rise in inflammatory rhetoric that may be fueling these acts. President Donald Trump's attempt to regulate federal elections and require proof of citizenship to vote is just one of the many orders being challenged in the courts. Republicans say Democrats and ‘radical' judges are using the legal system to block his agenda and are now trying to pass legislation that would put limits on how much power federal courts have. Former Congressman and Federal Prosecutor recently joined host Dave Anthony to discuss the President's hope to reform elections and all the legal fights the administration has faced since taking office. The FOX News Contributor understood Trump's desire to change our election systems and agreed that lower-level federal judges have too much power. He also called for Congress to take more action and correct what he sees as an uneven balance of power currently in Washington. We often must cut interviews short during the week, but we thought you might like to hear the full interview. Today on Fox News Rundown Extra, we will share our entire interview with FOX News' Trey Gowdy and let you hear even more of his unique take on the debate over elections and ‘judicial activism'. House Republicans have successfully united to set the stage for President Donald Trump's proposed 'One Big Beautiful Bill.' House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has once again navigated a significant piece of legislation with a slim majority in the House. The bill includes billions of dollars allocated for border security, national defense, and energy policy, along with trillions in spending cuts. FOX News Senior Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram joins to break down the latest developments from Congress. Nearly two dozen states have filed lawsuits against President Trump's executive order titled "Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections." This order includes mandatory proof of citizenship or a voter ID, as well as requirements for states to cooperate with the Department of Justice on election fraud-related cases. Former Congressman, host of Sunday Night in America, and host of the Trey Gowdy Podcast, Trey Gowdy, joined the Rundown earlier this week to discuss how the continuous legal challenges the President faces could disrupt the balance among the three branches of government. Congressman Matt Gaetz has taken himself out of the running for Attorney General in the next Trump administration. The embattled legislator faced heavy criticism after President-elect Trump named him as the pick for AG, with allegations of sexual misconduct surrounding the Congressman. Gaetz announced Thursday he was withdrawing so as “to not distract from the goals of President-elect Trump's agenda.” Former Congressman, host of Sunday Night In America, and host of the Trey Gowdy Podcast, Trey Gowdy joins the Rundown to discuss Congressman Gaetz's decision to step back from his AG nomination, what reforms need to come to the Department of Justice, and takes a look at the "disruptors" that President-elect Trump has picked for his cabinet. With another opportunity to shake things up, President-elect Trump has some different ideas for the economy and federal government finances. There has been speculation that cryptocurrency under the new Trump administration will see a serious boost, as Trump spent some time on the campaign trail saying he would make “the United States the crypto capital of the planet and the Bitcoin superpower of the world.” Co-anchor of America's Newsroom Sandra Smith explains the moves made by the President-elect and his allies so far to embrace and prioritize crypto in the next administration. President-Elect Trump's historic win last week was notable for many reasons, including his ability to win over voters in historically blue states and an array of minority voters. What do these results say about how Americans feel about the country and what they want moving forward? And after an incredibly polarizing election cycle, is there potential for a second Trump Administration to bring Americans back together, despite many Democrats' disdain for the 45th, and now 47th, President of the United States? Martha sits down with host of Fox News' Sunday Night in America and 'The Trey Gowdy Podcast,' Trey Gowdy to analyze last week's election results, how a second Trump Administration may differ from the first, and why it's crucial Americans aim to come together despite having different politics. As Democrats celebrated Vice President Kamala Harris' strong debate performance on Tuesday, the GOP were quick to criticize the ABC News moderators as ‘biased.' While the moderators did focus all their fact-checking efforts on the former President, Trump campaign allies still concede that President Trump was unfocused and missed key opportunities to both attack the Biden-Harris administration's record and appeal to swing state voters. Former South Carolina Congressman and host of Fox News' Sunday Night in America, Trey Gowdy, reacts to this week's presidential debate, breaking down the need for the Trump campaign to prepare the former President for “3-on-1” debates with media bias, opportunities missed to call out Harris' record, and what the Trump campaign must focus on next to win. Alabama Senator Katie Britt (R) is the youngest Republican woman ever elected to the Senate. She was just 40 years old when she won in 2022. Britt joins the podcast to discuss her book, “God Calls Us to Do Hard Things: Lessons of Faith, Family, and Leading from the Heart," why she entered politics, and why she believes her party will win back control of Congress and the White House this fall. The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1: 3:05pm- Venezuela autocrat Nicolas Maduro has been “elected” to his third consecutive six-year term as president. According to reports, Maduro won 51% of the final vote though there were, unsurprisingly, numerous irregularities which have led many to question the legitimacy of the results. Notably, the Biden-Harris administration limited sanctions on Venezuela and the Maduro regime in exchange for fair elections. It certainly doesn't seem like policy worked. 3:10pm- Kamala Harris' Prosecutorial Failures: In 2019, Vice news wrote “Jamal Trulove...was wrongfully convicted of murder and sentenced to 50 years to life in prison, despite no physical evidence linking him to the crime. Trulove recalls then San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris ‘showed up at the two most pivotal times…she wanted to be present for a celebration of a conviction.' He was eventually exonerated and freed after over six years in prison, and won $13.1 million from the city of San Francisco.” You can read more here: https://www.vice.com/en/article/3azy98/kamala-harriss-office-sent-this-innocent-man-to-prison-now-hes-voting-for-her 3:15pm- While appearing on Fox News with Trey Gowdy, former Democrat Presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard explained that Kamala Harris is more dangerous than Joe Biden—because she is an “ideologue.” 3:20pm- Packing the Supreme Court: In a newly recirculated clip, Kamala Harris says she is open to expanding the size of the Supreme Court. 3:30pm- Democrats have unveiled a new line of attack to hammer Republican Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance—“he's weird!” Governor JB Pritzker (D-IL), Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI), Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-CA), and Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA) all echoed the same criticism of Vance while appearing on television over the weekend. 3:45pm- Tommy Pigott—Strategic Communications Director for the Republican National Committee—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss Kamala Harris' past pledge to ban fracking. How will that impact her campaign in Pennsylvania specifically? Plus, a new Washington Post story warns that it could take days for Pennsylvania to declare a winner in the presidential race. 3:55pm- Secret Service Security Failures: Haley Willis, Aric Toler, David A. Fahrenthold, and Adam Goldman write: “Nearly 100 minutes before former President Donald J. Trump took the stage in Butler, Pa., a local countersniper who was part of the broader security detail let his colleagues know his shift was ending. ‘Guys I am out. Be safe,' he texted to a group of colleagues at 4:19 p.m. on July 13. He exited the second floor of a warehouse that overlooked the campaign rally site, leaving two other countersnipers behind. Outside, the officer noticed a young man with long stringy hair sitting on a picnic table near the warehouse. So at 4:26 p.m., he texted his colleagues about the man, who was outside the fenced area of the Butler Fair Show grounds where Mr. Trump was to appear. He said that the person would have seen him come out with his rifle and ‘knows you guys are up there.' The countersniper who sent the texts confirmed to The New York Times that the individual he saw was later identified as the gunman.” You can read the full article here: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/28/us/politics/trump-shooting-thomas-crooks-secret-service.html

It has also sparked a Senate investigation. Google users were surprised to discover that the search engine's ‘Autocomplete' was apparently omitting suggested results related to the assassination attempt against Donald Trump.” Nesi continues: “Sen. Epstein of The New York Times writes: “When she ran for president the first time, Kamala Harris darted to the left as she fought for attention from the Democratic Party's liberal wing. After she dropped out, social and racial justice protests swept across the country in the summer of 2020, and Ms. Harris joined other Democrats in supporting progressive ideas during what appeared to be a national realignment on criminal justice. One presidential cycle later, with Vice President Harris less than a week into another race for the White House, video clips of her old statements and interviews are being weaponized as Republicans aim to define her as a left-wing radical who is out of step with swing voters… ‘The archive is deep,' said Brad Todd, a Republican strategist and ad maker who is working with David McCormick, the G.O.P. Senate candidate in Pennsylvania, among other campaigns. ‘We will run out of time before we run out of video clips of Kamala Harris saying wacky California liberal things. I'm just not sure that the rest of this campaign includes much besides that.'” You can read the full article here: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/29/us/politics/kamala-harris-2020-positions.html 4:45: The Carpet Doesn't Match the Drapes: What the hell did former U.S. Congressman Patrick Murphy just say on Fox News? 5:05pm- In the week since President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race and selected Kamala Harris to be his successor, clips have emerged of Harris advocating for some truly bizarre policies—including a ban on fracking, a mandatory gun buyback initiated via executive authority, placing a limit on red meat consumption, providing taxpayer-funded health care to undocumented migrants in the country illegally, and the complete abolition of private health insurance. Rich notes that if Democrats feel as though Harris is incapable of defeating Trump, they won't hesitate to replace her as their candidate. Currently, Harris appears to be polling slightly better than Biden had been—though, Trump still leads in most swing states as well as nationally. 5:10pm- Karens for Kamala! According to Reuters, more than 160,000 people joined a “white women for Kamala Harris” Zoom call. Independent journalist Michael Shellenberger notes, “I thought this was a joke at first but it's not: Kamala Harris' campaign is segregating its volunteers by race. While speaking on behalf of Kamala Harris' presidential campaign, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro alleged Donald Trump intends to “use the department of justice to attack people who don't think like him.” He also inaccurately claimed Donald Trump wants to confiscate tips from waiters and waitresses, despite Trump's campaign pledge to end taxes on tips. It sounds like Shapiro desperately wants to be selected as Harris' running mate. 5:40pm- J.D. Tuccille of Reason writes: “Imagine you're a prominent ‘disinformation expert' once hired to head a government board to fight alleged untruths but unceremoniously dumped from the position when the board was dissolved amidst public outcry. Smeared oh so cruelly as the would-be chief censor of a government body tasked with policing people's speech, you sue your critics for defamation to set the record straight. And then…the judge tosses out your case, saying you and your stillborn board really were created to engage in censorship, and descriptions to that effect are accurate. Ouch, Nina Jankowicz. As the President and his campaign work to convince Democrats he's fit enough for a second term, Republicans continue to seek more examples of Biden's age-related fumbles and cognitive decline. House GOP members have even filed a lawsuit to compel the Justice Department to turn over audio tapes of President Biden's interview with special counsel Robert Hur, who led the Biden classified document investigation. Hur caused a firestorm when he wound up deciding not to recommend charges because he believed a jury would be sympathetic to Biden because he came off as an elderly man with a poor memory. Attorney General Merrick Garland's refusal to comply sparked a political fight, and the House Republicans voted to hold him in contempt. However, this is far from the first time the legislative branch has butted heads with the DOJ. Recently, FOX News host and former Republican South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy joined host Dave Anthony to weigh in on the legal fight over the Hur tapes and how it compares to past political standoffs. Gowdy discussed his experience in Congress working on the Benghazi and Fast and Furious investigations and the challenges lawmakers have always faced when trying to hold the executive branch accountable. He also commented on the Supreme Court's recent Trump immunity ruling and expressed his broader concern over how politics is ruining the justice system. The conversation was long, and we could not include all of it in our original FOX News Rundown segment. On the FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear our entire conversation with Trey Gowdy and hear more of his unique takes on the current political clashes and the ones he experienced firsthand. Following last week's performance at the CNN Presidential Debate, President Biden is struggling to assure skeptical voters he is still fit to be commander in chief. House Republicans are now trying to compel the Justice Department to turn over the audiotapes of the President's interview with special counsel Robert Hur. These GOP lawmakers are claiming that by withholding the tapes, the White House is trying to cover up President Biden's senior moments. Former South Carolina congressman and host of Fox News' Sunday Night in America, Trey Gowdy, explains why the Republicans voted to hold Attorney General Garland in contempt of Congress and what the consequences may be. Even Democratic leaders cited concerns about the President's poor debate performance, with blue state governors set to speak with the Biden administration this week. Polls conducted since the CNN Presidential Debate show former President Trump gaining ground in the 2024 race. Now, Texas Democrat Rep. Lloyd Doggett has become the first in his party to publicly call for the President to drop out of the race. FOX News contributor and Democratic strategist Leslie Marshall joins to discuss what the President must say to calm the worries at his governors meeting and how Democrats should handle calls for President Biden to bow out of the 2024 race.
