This past week, Trump delivered the first State of the Union Address of his second term. On the morning of the address, 22 Democrat Senators thought it would be a great idea to record themselves delivering a scripted, fake outrage video and posting it to their social media accounts. Completely tone deaf as they are, none saw fit to even slightly modify their presentation so as not to appear like the power drunk robots they are. Their behavior (along with their House colleagues) during the State of the Union Address later that evening only made them look worse. Democrats currently seem hell-bent on making sure the United States turns into a uniparty-run government, ruled by the Republicans for the foreseeable future. If the Democrat Party represents half the nation, America is in trouble. The PAC-Man, Ted Flint, gives us his take on the democrats' sophomoric display at this week's State of the Union Address. Plus, Trump Derangement Syndrome is alive and well in a Minnesota pizzeria.
Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn, senior senator for Tennessee and the first woman to represent the Volunteer State in the United States Senate. She serves on the Deputy Whip Team and is a member of the Finance Committee; the Commerce, Science & Transportation Committee; the Veterans' Affairs Committee; and the Judiciary Committee. Senator Marsha Blackburn serves as the Ranking Member on the Commerce Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Data Security and on the Judiciary Subcommittee on Human Rights and the Law. Before her election to the Senate, Marsha represented Tennessee's 7th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. The conversation focuses on the following topics: ✅ President Trump's State of the Union Address, presenting his vision for a Golden Age of America. ✅ Senator Blackburn requiring transparency and accountability, working with FBI Director Kash Patel in obtaining unredacted Epstein logs and other pertinent materials ✅ Senator Blackburn spearheading DOGE Acts to hold the federal government accountable for managing taxpayer dollars. Collaborative efforts with Elon Mask in making the federal government more efficient and slash wasteful spending. ✅ Strengthening the economic partnership between the U.S. and Taiwan. ✅ Senator Blackburn's recently introduced Tax Administration Simplification Act, to provide straightforward, taxpayer-focused improvements to streamline tax filing and payment for individuals and small businesses. ✅ Strengthening US-Israel ties and combating anti-Semitism with new leadership in Congress and the White House. ✅ Making America Healthy Again | Healthy foods and eating habits for a healthier America. Throughout her time in Congress, Marsha has led the fight to hold Communist China accountable. Her in-depth analyses of the Chinese Communist Party's threats to American sovereignty have prompted Congress to examine legislation countering Beijing's malign influence on global supply chains, technology infrastructure, and international organizations. After Beijing took over the once autonomous region of Hong Kong in 2019, Marsha led bipartisan legislation, which was signed into law by President Trump, that prohibits the U.S. export of crowd control equipment to the Hong Kong Police Force. Her bipartisan Open Technology Fund Authorization Act, which supports internet freedom by addressing authoritarian regimes' efforts to censor the internet, was also signed into law. At the same time Marsha has stood up to Communist China, she has worked to bolster the U.S.-Taiwan relationship. In August 2022, she visited Taiwan, met with President Tsai Ing-wen in Taipei, and called to strengthen connections between the U.S. and Taiwan. During this visit, Marsha made her stance clear: Taiwan is a country. On border policy, Marsha bases her approach on the simple truth that until our borders are secure, every town will be a border town and every state will be a border state. In the Senate, she has led the charge to fully fund the United States Border Patrol, restart construction of a physical barrier, impose harsher criminal penalties for drug smuggling, and fight for law and order on behalf of the thousands of women and girls lost to cross-border human trafficking. Trump delivered his 5th State of the Union Address on Tuesday night, a whopping 90 minute long speech, and in spite of delivering announcements of progress that benefits the entire country (stronger border, possible peace between Ukraine and Russia, or the fraud and waste DOGE is uncovering), the Dems could not be bothered to stand or even applaud for one single part, including the recognition of a 13 year old boy with cancer who was made an honorary part of the Secret Service, a teen finding out he is admitted to West Point, an American hostage brought home from Russia, or for the honor paid to children killed by illegal immigrants. We talk about all of this and more...including RFK's oped on Fox in this week's episode. Join us for the conversation.

On this Wednesday edition of Sid & Friends in the Morning, Sid debriefs President Trump's speech last night before a joint session of Congress, essentially his first State of the Union Address since he's been sworn back in as POTUS. Democrats in attendance spent the evening ignoring, disrupting, and even being forcibly removed from the joint session, as they displayed a new level of pettiness and immaturity in protest of their President. In other news of the day, New York City Mayor Eric Adams is in the nation's capital today to testify in front of congress regarding New York City's status as a sanctuary city. Peter King, Anthony Cumia, Jeanine Pirro, Scott LoBaido, Steven Puchik and George Pavlou join the program on this hump day installment of Sid & Friends in the Morning. State Of The Union Address for 2025.
Support Breaking Walls at https://www.patreon.com/thewallbreakers The weather on Monday January 9th, 1956 warmed throughout the day. It hit forty degrees Fahrenheit by nightfall. The front cover of The New York Daily News featured a photo of patrolman Ray Cusack, who rescued many children from a fire in Hempstead, New York. Dwight Eisenhower was still undecided on whether or not to seek a second term, while Democrat hopeful Adlai Stevenson claimed Ike's recent State of the Union Address was merely a veiled State on the Republican party. Meanwhile the families of both US diplomats and UN officials fled from the Jordanian sector of Jerusalem after violent anti-western riots broke out for the second day in a row. If you turned on your radio at 8:15PM eastern time, you'd have heard a Boston Symphony concert on NBC, and Metropolitan Opera auditions on ABC. WOR aired True Detective, but if you wanted the best in radio detective fiction you'd have turned on CBS, where Bob Bailey was starring in Jack Johnstone's production of Yours Truly Johnny Dollar, written by E. Jack Neuman. The prison where Vance served time is Sing Sing, originally opening in Ossining, New York in 1825. Among the executions in their electric chair were Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, on June 19th, 1953, for Soviet espionage. A good mink coat cost about twenty-five-hundred dollars in 1956. Both Orin Vance and Don Freed were voiced by Lawrence Dobkin. By 1956 Dobkin was a radio legend with experience in both New York and Hollywood. The Westin Hotel Chain was launched in 1930 by Severt W. Thurston and Frank Dupar as Western Hotels. They were the first hotel chain to introduce credit cards in 1946. Today the chain, called Westin since 1981, is owned and operated by Mariott. There are Westin Hotels in both the Times Square and Grand Central area. In January of 1956, 57th street was home to various art exhibitions like Kay Sage's surrealist paintings at the Catherine Viviano gallery, a contemporary Greek Art exhibition at Sagittarius gallery, a European group show at the Matisse gallery, and art and artifacts of various Central African tribes at 57th and Lexington. The Sutton theater, also on 57th street, was showing The Night My Number Came Up starring Michael Redgrave and Sheila Sim. Gloria Tierney's fictional apartment at 1231 East 57th is an impossibility. The address would put it in the East River.
I don't think I've ever "teared up" during a President's State of the Union Address to Congress - until that unforgettable moment during President George W. Bush's State of the Union early in 2005. For me, it had absolutely nothing to do with politics. It was just an intensely human moment that almost transcended politics. At one point in his speech, he paid tribute to the Iraqi people for their courage in going to the polls in the face of incredible danger. Then, the President introduced a guest that was sitting in the gallery next to the First Lady - a woman who had been an Iraqi freedom activist for eleven years at that time - since Saddam Hussein had her father executed. She stood with her index finger in the air, still tinted with that identifying purple dye of someone who had voted. She was very moved by the standing ovation from everyone in that chamber. And then a few moments later, the President paid tribute to the soldiers who had died in Iraq and then to their grieving families. At that point, he introduced a couple seated behind the woman from Iraq - their Marine son had died in the Fallujah campaign. They stood as representatives of all those families who had lost a son or daughter in Iraq. And then that mother leaned over to the front row and embraced the martyr's daughter from Iraq. They remained there just crying together, buried in each other's arms as the elected national leadership of the United States stood to their feet in a long and thunderous ovation. That's when I lost it. I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "The Hug of a Holy God." What a picture! The one whose son died embracing one he died for. I think one reason I found that so moving is because I can see myself in that picture - embraced by the God whose Son died, and I'm the one that He died for, and so are you. The question is have you ever acknowledged the sacrifice that was made for you? Have you ever stepped into your Heavenly Father's waiting arms? He's got so much love He's been waiting to give you. He's got the love you may have spent a whole life looking for. God's welcoming embrace cost Him the most precious thing He had - His one and only Son. Listen to these beautiful words from 1 John 4, beginning with verse 9, our word for today from the Word of God. "This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him." Why don't you put your name in that verse? "He sent His one and only Son that (there's your name) might live through Him. He loved (there's your name) and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." Like that mother at the State of the Union Address, God's the One whose Son died. But God's Son chose to die, because it was the only way your sins could be paid for other than you paying for them forever in hell. The cross was for you. To ignore that sacrifice will cost you heaven. To depend on the good things you try to do for God instead of the amazing thing God did for you means you will pay the death penalty for your sin that Jesus already died to pay. And now the One whose Son died waits to embrace the one He died for. In fact, He's been waiting for you for a long time. Let today be the day you finally experience His awesome love for yourself. Tell Him you know you've broken His laws and you've run your life your way, and that you want to change. Tell Him you're pinning all your hopes for eternity on the Savior who died for you. What an unforgettable day this could be for you. I would love to help walk you through beginning that relationship. That's what our website is there for. Would you go there today? It's ANewStory.com. I want you to know when you go to bed tonight beyond any shadow of a doubt that you belong to Jesus Christ. God gave His very best for you. Don't walk away from His waiting arms. Not after the price that He paid to love you.

Send us a textIn our first episode of our fourteenth season, we open with arguably one of the high points of the George H. W. Bush years. When he opened the 1992 State of the Union address he could legitimately say"The State of our Union is strong", for in the past year, he had vanquished a dictator in the Middle East, and he had managed the collapse of the Communist World without it leading to another World War. As Robert Gates had said often, the collapse of a major World Empire rarely if ever happens in history without a major War. Bush and his Soviet counterpart, Mikhail Gorbachev, had managed to oversea the end of the Cold War without it leading to a hot one. However, in the meantime, the United States economy had gone into recession and that would be the next big item on President Bush's already historic agenda. The question would become could he get it all turned around in time for the election that was on the horizon in 1992. Today on Mea Culpa, I am honored to speak with Fred Guttenberg, who became a powerful voice for gun reform after the tragic death of his 14-year-old daughter, Jaime, in the Parkland mass shooting in 2018. Fred's public journey began at a vigil where his moving words captured the nation's attention and ignited his relentless advocacy for gun safety. In our discussion, Fred and I will explore the significance of the upcoming election for gun violence prevention, reflect on recent events like the school shooting in Georgia, and examine the support he has received from Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as his arrest during Trump's third State of the Union Address. Addiction and heroin abuse didn't make Tim Ryan a better person, but recovery has redeemed his years. Substance abuse of heroin and alcohol stole more than half his life. But he has dedicated every waking minute since walking out of prison to dealing hope to addicts and their families. As a recovering addict, Tim is now known as The Hope Dealer. He's also a successful entrepreneur, a nationally ranked barefoot water skier-and a truth-talking, convicted felon. Tim has been a featured thought-leader in numerous national media, including USA Today, Newsweek, and on "The Steve Harvey Show." He was an invited guest to the 2016 State of the Union Address. • As a business leader in a high-tech industry, Tim made and lost millions. • As a father and husband, Tim paved the way for his own son to use deadly drugs. • As a heroin addict, Tim is a walking miracle. He has overdosed eight times, was pronounced clinically dead three times, and suffered two minor heart attacks. He has been arrested more than ten times and served prison time alongside known gang leaders-many of whom became his closest confidants in recovery. For over 20 years, Michael Molthan was The Luxury Homebuilder in Dallas, Texas - The Park Cities and beyond. He was the envy of all, with a thriving business and a reputation that seemed untouchable. But then it all came crashing down. The once mighty Michael Molthan found himself at rock bottom. He had succumbed to the allure of drugs and alcohol, and his life spiraled into a world of crime and chaos. In just four years, he had racked up an astonishing 27 mugshots, a shocking downfall for someone who seemed to have it all. As he faced the consequences of his actions, Michael's world crumbled around him. He was about to enter a place he swore he would never go: prison. And with each passing day, his once unbreakable spirit was shattered into a million pieces. But this is not just a story of downfall and defeat. This is a story of redemption and resilience. Michael Molthan's journey through darkness and back is a testament to the human spirit and the power of second chances. It's a story that will evoke strong emotions and leave you breathless. Addiction consumed Michael's every waking moment, numbing the pain of a dark childhood trauma that he kept hidden deep within. It was his temporary escape, his coping mechanism, his only solace. But little did he know that his addiction would lead him to a place he never imagined - a prison cell. Locked away, with nothing but time on his hands, Michael turned to reading and writing for solace and found himself connecting with fellow inmates who couldn't read or write. He poured his heart and soul into helping them, giving them a voice, and finding purpose in his own life. Then, on that fateful day - October 13, 2017 - a miracle happened. Michael was released from prison two years early, before completing his sentence. As he traveled the long 300-mile journey back to Dallas, Texas, he knew he had to face Judge Jennifer Bennett. He had to turn himself in and face the consequences of his actions. But something incredible happened when Michael stood before Judge Bennett. For the first time, she saw the miraculous change that had taken place in his life. She saw a man who had been broken, now standing tall and strong. And in that moment, she made the decision to pardon him, telling him to go and "pay it forward." And that's exactly what Michael Molthan has been doing for the past seven years. He has been paying it forward, using his own experiences to help others who are struggling with addiction and trauma. Through his powerful storytelling and his unwavering dedication, Michael has become a beacon of hope for those who have lost their way. His journey may have been filled with darkness, but Michael has emerged into the light, ready to guide others towards their own paths of healing and redemption. And that, my friends, is the true power of the human spirit.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-m2-the-rock-show-michael-molthan--3443849/support.

The Rafah invasion. On Monday, Israeli forces began striking targets in Rafah, a city in southern Gaza. During the course of the war, over a million Gazan refugees fled to the Rafah region to shelter from Israel's incursion in the north. Several Hamas battalions have also fled south to Rafah and maintained a stronghold there, which Israel says it is aiming to dismantle with its latest push. Trump's pick for vice president. Over the weekend, former President Donald Trump headlined the Republican National Committee's spring donor retreat in Florida, an event that doubled as a showcase of Trump's potential running mates. These attendees — dubbed “special guests” — included Republicans like Sen. Marco Rubio (FL), Sen. Tim Scott (SC), Sen. J.D. Vance (OH), Gov. Doug Burgum (ND), Gov. Kristi Noem (SD), Rep. Elise Stefanik (NY) and Rep. Byron Donalds (FL), among others. You can read today's podcast here, our “Under the Radar” story here and today's “Have a nice day” story here. A global wealth tax. Late last month, G20 ministers from Brazil, Germany, Spain, and South Africa signed a motion and published an opinion piece in The Guardian calling for a global tax of 2% on the world's 3,000 billionaires. The proposal is to raise roughly €250 billion (or $270 billion) a year to fight against global poverty, and has also been backed by the head of the International Monetary Fund. Florida's ban on lab-grown meat. On Wednesday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signed a bill that bans lab-grown meat in the state, describing the bill as an effort to "save our beef" and protect cattle ranchers. The bill, S.B. 1084, made it unlawful to "manufacture for sale, sell, hold or offer for sale, or distribute cultivated meat." In his State of the Union Address, President Biden made it clear that taxes and tax policy were his next big target for a middle-out makeover. However, we can't talk about the future of taxes without discussing the potential expiration of Trump's' 2017 tax law. Samantha Jacoby, a senior tax analyst at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, joins us today to help us understand the repercussions of Trump's tax policies and the opportunities ahead. Trump's tax law was marketed as a boon for every working American, promising an average annual benefit of $4,000. But Jacoby unveils the true economic reality behind the Trump tax law: the primary beneficiaries were the wealthiest individuals and corporations; they did not pay for themselves as promised; and despite the trillions of tax giveaways to people at the top, most Americans saw no tangible economic benefit. Samantha Jacoby is a Senior Tax Analyst with the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. Before joining the Center in 2018, she practiced tax law at two international law firms in New York and Washington, D.C. Previously, she worked as a policy and research analyst at the Solar Energy Industries Association, where she focused on the impact of tax incentives on the renewable energy industry. Verdict: False. The United States ran a goods and services trade deficit of nearly $779.8 billion last year. While that is down from last year's record high $951.2 billion, it is higher than the trade deficit under any prior president. The three largest trade deficits ever have occurred in each year of President Biden's presidency. The trade deficit in goods has also been higher in each year of Biden's presidency than it was under previous presidents. While the balance of payments in goods improved last year, the goods deficit is still higher than it was before Biden took office.
