Jocelyn is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, pelvic floor specialist and Level 2 Crossfit Trainer. She specializes in helping women get back to fitness after a hysterectomy, myomectomy or endometriosis excision without pain, prolapse or peeing themselves. Jocelyn was inspired to do this work through her own experience with uterine fibroids. Having 3 open abdominal surgeries between 26 and 32 years old, she saw the lack of resources for women healing from these major operations. Women deserve better support. Today we are discussing all the things you guys! We start off talking about hysterectomies, endometriosis, adenomyosis, what these are, and that having these surgeries doesn't mean you life is over, you can find a path back to life, lifting and all the things, and that's where Jocelyn comes in. We also discuss prolapse, what It is, when it begins and what we can do about it. How and where hormone therapy fits in. To be clear hormone therapy can't work if you're not supporting yourself with adequate nutrition. Strength Training is the magic pill!!! You can work with Dr. Jocelyn through her 90 day revival program for people who've had the above surgeries, you can also give her a follow on instagram @drjocelynwallace. 61: We're chatting with Erika Altes from @whiskeyandlace about her brand's origin story—and the difficulties of losing a close friend in the process. I think we can all relate to going through a friendship breakup, but it's not something that's openly talked about and feels a bit taboo. Erika gets super open and vulnerable with us and shares: - Whiskey and Lace's brand story, how her business partner and friendship breakup happened, and how she was eventually able to grow from it - How she turned the brand from something that wasn't profitable into Whiskey and Lace 2.0, and a thriving business - How Erika finally got closure on the loss of her friendship 8 years later (and all the coincidences that led to it—this part of the convo gave me literal chills!) - How Erika has used her influence for good by supporting local businesses and raising $50k to feed firefighters during the Glass Fire - What sets her apart from other influencers in the space Snap a screenshot of the podcast and tag me @wtfab and Erika @whiskeyandlace sharing your thoughts on this episode, so we can reshare it on our Stories too! I'll never forget the first time I saw a Pantene ad. The silky, luscious, and thick hair on the models couldn't be more different from my own hair, but instantly became an ideal of what society considered beautiful. It carried me through the many emotional stages of my hair - extensions, the post breakup chop, multiple colors (who can relate?) - all to achieve that bounce that could be seen from a mile away. But as a now 28-year-old, I've figured out the most essential truth when it comes to hair - less is more. Diana Cohen's Crown Affair is leading that message, disrupting the haircare industry that has notoriously sold chemical-based products and damaging styles with simple products, clean ingredients, and routines and rituals that nourish your hair from within. The Crown Affair Hair Oil has landed on every best-seller list, even catching the eye of the brand's newest investor Gwyneth Paltrow, and the brand is a bestseller at Goop and Sephora. In this episode, Diana shares her experience navigating the haircare industry, her own routines, and how she's built a community around self-care. Michael Wallace was a 29-year-old Massachusetts native living in Menlo Park, California, with a bright future and full life ahead of him. He had graduated from one of the most elite universities in the world and didn't have to worry about finding a job. So when he disappeared without a trace, his family had to wonder- did he choose to vanish? Was his fascination with The Bourne Identity and Catch Me If You Can more than just a dream? Did he seek answers in a monastery after studying Buddhism for several years? We don't have all the answers to these questions, but this is the compelling, mysterious story of a brilliant man who wanted to find answers to his own internal struggles for himself and others, but vanished before that happened and has not been seen since February 4, 2003.If you have any information about the disappearance of Michael Jay Amico Wallace, you are encouraged to call the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office at 650-363-4050You can continue to follow Michael's story and updates on his family's website, michaelsrun.org. In early December of 2006, 32-year-old Andrew Chapman disappeared from the Hilltop area of Columbus, Ohio. At the time, Andrew lived with a couple of roommates on Whitethorne Avenue. Andrew called his mom and told her that he needed her to come by his place because he had something to give her. He seemed to be in a bit of a panic. Andrew's mom, Judy, was very ill at the time and couldn't make the trip to see Andrew that day. In the days that followed, Judy was on the mend and stopped by Andrew's apartment to see what he needed. Judy was shocked to find that Andrew's apartment had been completely cleaned out. Andrew and his roommates were gone. Phone calls to Andrew went unanswered, and no one had any clue where he could be. Andrew's case quickly went cold, and maybe he wanted some time away from family? As the years went by, more perplexing clues began to surface as Andy's sister started digging into the case herself. Today, many questions remain unanswered, but Andrew's family is determined to find out what happened to him.If you have any information about the disappearance of Andrew Chapman, please contact the Columbus Police Department at 614-645-4545.This episode was sponsored by:Nutrafol- Go to Nutrafol.com and use promo code VANISHED to get $15 off your first order and free shipping.Ritual- Visit Ritual.com/Vanished for 10% off your first 3 months.Nuuly- Get $20 off your first month of Nuuly when you sign up at Nuuly.com and enter code VANISHED20.If you have a missing loved one that you would like to have featured on the show, please fill out our case submission form.Follow The Vanished on social media at:FacebookInstagramTwitterPatreonSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
