Read OnlineThe angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin's name was Mary. And coming to her, he said, “Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.”  Luke 1:26–28What does it mean to be “full of grace?” This is a question at the heart of our solemn celebration today.Today we honor the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of the Savior of the World, under the unique title of “The Immaculate Conception.” This title acknowledges that grace filled her soul from the moment of her conception, thus preserving her from the stain of sin. Though this truth had been held for centuries among the Catholic faithful, it was solemnly declared as a dogma of our faith on December 8, 1854, by Pope Pius IX. In his dogmatic declaration he stated:We declare, pronounce, and define that the doctrine which holds that the most Blessed Virgin Mary, in the first instance of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege granted by Almighty God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the human race, was preserved free from all stain of original sin, is a doctrine revealed by God and therefore to be believed firmly and constantly by all the faithful.By raising this doctrine of our faith to the level of a dogma, the holy father declared that this truth is to be held as certain by all the faithful. It is a truth that is found in the words of the angel Gabriel, “Hail, full of grace!” To be “full” of grace means just that. Full! 100%. Interestingly, the Holy Father did not say that Mary was born in a state of Original Innocence as were Adam and Eve before they fell into Original Sin. Instead, the Blessed Virgin Mary is declared to be preserved from sin by “a singular grace.” Though she had not yet conceived her Son, the grace that He would win for humanity by His Cross and Resurrection was declared to have transcended time so as to heal our Blessed Mother at the moment of her conception, preserving her of even the stain of Original Sin, by the gift of grace. Why would God do this? Because no stain of sin could be mingled with the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity. And if the Blessed Virgin Mary were to become a fitting instrument by which God unites with our human nature, then she needed to be preserved from all sin. Additionally, she remained in grace throughout her life, refusing to ever turn from God by her own free will.As we celebrate this dogma of our faith today, turn your eyes and heart to our Blessed Mother by simply pondering those words spoken by the angel: “Hail, full of grace!” Ponder them, this day, reflecting upon them over and over in your heart. Imagine the beauty of the soul of Mary. Imagine the perfect grace-filled virtue she enjoyed in her humanity. Imagine her perfect faith, perfect hope and perfect charity. Reflect upon every word she spoke, being inspired and directed by God. She truly is The Immaculate Conception. Honor her as such this day and always. My mother and my queen, I love you and honor you this day as The Immaculate Conception! I gaze upon your beauty and perfect virtue. I thank you for always saying “Yes” to the will of God in your life and for allowing God to use you with such power and grace. Pray for me, that as I come to know you more deeply as my own spiritual mother, I may also imitate your life of grace and virtue in all things. Mother Mary, pray for us. Jesus said to his disciples: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.” Mark 16:15–16We celebrate today one more step in the completion of the mission of the Son of God. Humanity had sinned at the beginning of time and fallen from Original Innocence. God immediately began to prepare the world for the gift of eternal redemption by establishing a covenant with Noah, Abraham and Moses. He raised up various prophets and kings to further prepare His people for what was to come. And then, when the time was right, God entered our world through the Blessed Virgin Mary. Jesus, the Son of God, eventually entered into His public ministry, teaching, performing miracles, gathering the faithful to Himself, dying, rising and then appearing to His disciples in preparation for the Ascension. The Ascension completes the mission of the Son of God. Today we honor that definitive moment when God the Son, in His transformed and resurrected Human nature, ascends by His own power to the Father, bringing with Himself our humanity so that all humanity may ascend with Him.As we celebrate the Ascension of Jesus, we must first see all that led up to that moment and seek to unite ourselves with all of those preceding events. We must listen to the words of the patriarchs and prophets of the Old Testament. We must especially listen to the teachings of Jesus in the New Testament and embrace His words without hesitation. And we must unite ourselves with His own death, dying to sin, so that we may also share in His Resurrection. Today, we must further see the invitation we are all given to ascend with Jesus to the Father. We must understand that where Jesus has gone, we are invited to follow if we only believe, embrace and live all that took place leading up to this glorious moment. The Ascension was the end of Jesus' life on Earth but also the beginning of our sharing in the life of Heaven. As Jesus ascended, He commissioned His disciples to go forth and “preach the gospel to every creature.” They were to preach to all about the saving plan of God that began at the time of Adam and Eve and was completed with the Ascension.Reflect, today, upon your calling to not only share in this glorious moment of Jesus' Ascension but also your calling to go forth and to do all you can to draw others into this new life. Reflect upon Jesus, Who also speaks to you today to invite you to bring others to that mountain. By teaching friends, family and all with whom God has entrusted to you to share the Gospel, you fulfill Christ's mission to “go into the whole world” to gather the scattered people into the one fold of Christ so as to ascend with Him one day into eternity. My ascended Lord, all things throughout history were but a preparation for the moment when You drew fallen humanity into Heaven to be with Your Father forever. Help me to always heed Your holy words, so that I, too, will share in Your Ascension. Use me, dear Lord, to also go forth and to draw many others to You so that the Kingdom will be filled with all those whom You have called. Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2024 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Cheryl Esposito welcomes GP Walsh, author of The Tao of Allowing: Surfing on the Law of Attraction. A master meditation teacher and often called the Irreverent Sage, he asks: “Have you ever wondered: Why does self-help promise so much and deliver so little? Why is spiritual practice so damn hard? Why is the world messed up? Why do I keep working on myself and never get fixed?” Uh-huh. We thought so. GP Walsh wants to be sure we understand the sacred...the sacred is our true nature. He says we are born into “original innocence” –where all is possible, and we haven't yet forgotten who we are. In that state, there's no need for self-help. When people are looking outside of themselves for deep answers, he says “look closer” because the answers reside within. He recommends that we “begin the practice of allowing; surrender to the wisdom of what is.” So, how do you actually “do” that? Join Cheryl Esposito & GP Walsh to master the Tao of Allowing!

As we forgive others for their "mistakes," we are absolved of any regrets or guilt from our own mistakes. Thus are we both freed at once and restored to the awareness of innocence in which we were created. God's will for us is that we are aware of this Original Innocence. It is the purpose of miracles.

The belief in a condemning god is just that a belief. The god of condemnation and bombast is only a belief, acted out by its adherents. The Old Testament God of violence and conquest was challenged by the Sage of Nazareth. He revealed a diety of a very different character and he embodied that character in his own life. It is a strange distortion that now attributes that same Bronze Age cruelty to this enlightened man of peace and forgiveness. He says we are born into “original innocence” –where all is possible, and we haven’t yet forgotten who we are. In that state, there’s no need for self-help.

Jesus, the Son of God, eventually entered into His public ministry, teaching, performing miracles, gathering the faithful to Himself, dying, rising, and then appearing to His disciples in preparation for the Ascension. The Ascension completes the mission of the Son of God, and today we honor that one definitive moment when God the Son, in His transformed and resurrected Human nature, ascends by His own power to the Father, bringing with Himself our humanity so that all humanity may ascend with Him.As we celebrate the Ascension of Jesus, we must first see all that led up to that moment and seek to unite ourselves with all of those preceding events. We must understand that where Jesus has gone, we are invited to follow if we only believe, embrace, and live all that took place leading up to this glorious moment. The Ascension was the end of Jesus' life on Earth but also the beginning of our sharing in the life of Heaven. As Jesus ascended, He commissioned His disciples to go forth and “preach the gospel to every creature.” They were to preach to all about the saving plan of God that began at the time of Adam and Eve and was completed with the Ascension.Reflect, today, upon your calling to not only share in this glorious moment of the Ascension of Jesus but also your calling to go forth and to do all you can to draw others into this new life. Reflect upon Jesus, Who also speaks to you today to invite you to bring others to that mountain. By teaching friends, family and all with whom God has entrusted to you to share the Gospel, you fulfill Christ’s mission to “go into the whole world” to gather the scattered people into the one fold of Christ so as to ascend with Him one day into eternity. Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2021 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Used with permission via RSS feed.

The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin’s name was Mary. Jesus, I trust in You!Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2020 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Used with permission via RSS feed.

In this episode, Michaela and I will unpack Jesus's call to sinful humanity to have a renewal of heart to where we see the other as gift rather than a means to an end.

We are born innocent. But then many of us are told we're born guilty – accountable to some choice we didn't make, but should definitely suffer for anyway. That framework of belief weighs heavily on Christians. Those of us raised in religious environments grew up exposed to this idea of a universal condemnation, where the only way out seemed to be when the proper formulas were adhered to: the right boxes checked and the right beliefs claimed. Arbitrary technicalities of escape to match the arbitrary judgment... All of it lacking humanity and compassion. When you grow up believing you deserve eternal torment in some far off place, it becomes easier to stomach abuse at a more near and intimate level. Or at least, it's harder to believe you deserve anything better. Certainly harder to demand anything better. A steady diet of guilt and shame sets us up to endure great abuse while attempting to rationalize to ourselves how or why we're being hurt.Christian institutions in the church and the home are rife with abuse because so much of what they promote serves to enable abusers and silence the abused. So there's something especially beautiful about human strength and dignity in the face of all that. Defying that world and its destructive assumptions, and reclaiming one's original innocence.CHECK US OUT ON PATREON!https://www.patreon.com/theairingofgriefSEE ALL EPISODES AND ESSAYS AT OUR WEBSITE: https://www.theairingofgrief.com/

This podcast includes how the sexual energy of humanity has been harvested for many thousands of years by inter-dimensional beings for their own sustenance and purposes. How can we free ourselves from such interference and allow sexual energy to be a pathway to our Divinity? Padma Aon’s experiences with the soul began at age four with his formal initiation into the Brahmin Lineage of Hinduism, which led onto his reading the Bhagavad Gita, the Bible, and many of the European philosophers by age seven. At age twelve he realized he had read and understood enough, and at the age of twenty-one, an experience of God Consciousness changed his life forever. Most of his Work has come from the fruit of his travels in many worlds, and his decades long explorations into human consciousness and evolution. Padma is a Master of Sacred Sound, in particular Sanskrit and Aramaic, and uses the vibrations of these universal languages to rapidly shift consciousness into innate harmony. Padma is the author of several books include: Dimensions of Love, The Power of Shakti and Womb Wisdom, The Christ Blueprint and Sacred Wounds, Original Innocence.

Last week we looked in Matthew 19 at a discussion Jesus had with the Pharisees about divorce … they are going in the wrong direction with their question: “Can a man divorce his wife for any reason?” Jesus said because of the hardness of your hearts ..., but it was not so from the beginning. Have we been so culturally conditioned to believe that all our interpersonal conflict, all the pain and heartache in male – female relationships is normal? Jesus thinks not! Through conditioning, we’re more familiar with ORIGINAL SIN than ORIGINAL RIGHTEOUSNESS … Jesus is saying that in order to untwist the mess we’ve made, we must go back to the beginning … before Genesis 3. We must explore ORIGINAL INNOCENCE. We have a better theology of sin than we have of creation. The Gospel doesn’t begin with “all have sinned” … it begins with the glory of God. If we don’t understand God’s original intentions, we won’t understand how far we’ve fallen from the glory of God. Genesis 1 -2 describes “Original Experiences” of the first human beings. The first three Chapters of Genesis, arguably the first 11, provides interpretive keys for understanding the rest of the Bible. Once those categories are in place, you’ll find that they keep reoccurring. Historically, in America especially, we’ve been sidetracked by trying to read Genesis as a scientific account of creation. Other’s read it in a stiff, literal manner or as mere history, or pre-history. I believe the authors of Genesis are attempting to give us a theology. It is written in symbolic language to communicate universal truths about God and creation. It’s more about God’s intention for creation than HOW he created it. The NT authors read Genesis from symbolism to spiritual reality … from the snake in the Garden symbolizing Satan. Satan is no more a literal snake than Jesus is a literal Lamb! You see if I want to understand what a Toyota looks like, I don’t go the junkyard; I go to the showroom. Let’s now go to the showroom. Original Experiences 1. Original Divine Partnership (stewards of creation) 2. Original Freedom (the two trees) 3. Original Faith (avoiding death by God's awareness, not ours) 4. Original Solitude (alone without a complementary gift) 5. Original Unity (such solitude guides one to such unity) 6. Original Nakedness (without shame) In all of the above, human beings were growing in an emerging identity. Until the creation of woman, man, Adam (generic humanity) was unique from all of God’s creation. He is coming to understand that he is alone. The obvious meaning of Adam’s aloneness, his solitude, is that it’s not good to be without Eve. So Adam experiences solitude, and at this point, with no GENDER IDENTITY … Adam is a word meaning of the earth, generic humanity. Adam is required to live by Faith (faith working through love) He had no reference for what death was … he would have to trust God without any experience of it. Satan fell in heaven … before this possibility … love requires freedom within a plurality, a communion of persons. Before Sin entered the world, there was one thing that was not good. So … God did a humorous thing … Animals! After naming them, Adam came to more aloneness, alienation that he is similar but not identical to the animals. Adam has the breath of life but still a sense of aloneness. Adam walks with an unseen deity, but still 'alone'; he has to truth God's awareness of death without ever experiencing it. His aloneness is a gift, summoning him towards God and ultimate the other, Eve. Adam comes to understand his maleness (ish - Hebrew for male) only after he's introduced to Eve (is-sah - Hebrew for female. This one from the earth, Adam, comes to a new identity in light of a complementary gift. Original solitude remains in both Adam and Eve, summoning them towards God, a relationship of trust.
