Andy Behrens is joined by Patrick Dougherty of Rotoworld from 4for4 Football to talk about the coaching carousel and much more on the latest episode of the Yahoo Fantasy Football Forecast!First up, some news: The Jacksonville Jaguars WAIVED running back Leonard Fournette. Yes, the Fournette era — which started via a top-five draft pick — is over for the Jags. Andy and Patrick discuss the fantasy implications of this move, considering the running backs on the depth chart are: Chris Thompson, Ryquell Armstead, Devine Ozigbo and a pair of undrafted free agents. (1:35)Next up, Patrick and Andy look back at all of the major head coach and offensive coordinator changes that occurred this offseason and talk about what to expect with the season less than two weeks away. The Eagles, Vikings, Rams and Bears all landed new OCs and the Cowboys kept theirs but swapped out HC Jason Garrett for Mike McCarthy. Can we expect any major changes to these offenses at all or will they pretty much resemble what they looked like last year? (16:05)Can Kevin Sefanski and Alex Van Pelt revive Baker Mayfield in his third season and effectively run a copy of the 2019 Minnesota offense (but with Odell Beckham, Jr.)? (21:35)Pat Shurmur has been a bad head coach but always pretty effective as an offensive coordinator. Can he rocket second-year duo Drew Lock and Noah Fant into the conversation in the AFC? (27:35)Will Ron Rivera & Scott Turner bring stability to Washington and help mature Dwayne Haskins into the first-round talent he promised at Ohio State? (33:55)Joe Judge & Jason Garrett will steer the ship for the New York Giants. Will Judge’s scared-straight drill sergeant routine help the lowly G-Men and can Garrett turn Daniel Jones into a more consistent QB? (40:20)With new pieces all over the Carolina organization from head coach Matt Rhule all the way down, will Teddy Bridgewater be put in the best place to succeed with the talented, if slightly unproven, WR corps? Willows for Sale—Rusty Keeler https://earthplay.net/product/spring-willow/ Patrick Dougherty: http://www.stickwork.net/ Quote I think that part of my work’s allure is its impermanence, the life cycle that is built into the growth and decay of saplings. My focus has always been the process of building a work and allowing those who pass to enjoy the daily changes or drama of building a sculpture as well as the final product. However, the line between trash and treasure is thin, and the sculptures, like the sticks they are made from, begin to fade after two years. Often the public imagines that a work of art should be made to last, but I believe that a sculpture, like a good flower bed, has its season. – Patrick Dougherty (source) Sticks are something we all have in common. Everybody knows sticks – the twigs and branches picked up on grandfather’s farm; the branches woven in grandmother’s basket. Somewhere threaded in all the public mass is a common thread, and that thread is the human spirit. --Patrick Dougherty Books (aff links) Stickwork by Patrick Dougherty--I think I absolutely love this because I was able to work side by side with Patrick on one of his creations. I enjoyed the process and love his whimsical stick work. Since we have ample sticks, this is great eye candy as we get started with outdoor creations. Read about our adventures here. Using minimal tools and a simple technique of bending, interweaving, and fastening together sticks, artist Patrick Dougherty creates works of art inseparable with nature and the landscape. With a dazzling variety of forms seamlesslyintertwined with their context, his sculptures evoke fantastical images of nests, cocoons, cones, castles, and beehives. Over the last twenty-five years, Dougherty has built more than two hundred works throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia that range from stand-alone structures to a kind of modern primitive architectureevery piece mesmerizing in its ability to fly through trees, overtake buildings, and virtually defy gravity. Stickwork, Dougherty's first monograph, features thirty-eight of his organic, dynamic works that twist the line between architecture, landscape, and art. Constructed on-site using locally sourced materials and local volunteer labor, Dougherty's sculptures are tangles of twigs and branches that have been transformed into something unexpected and wild, elegant and artful, and often humorous. Sometimes freestanding, and other times wrapping around trees, buildings, railings, and rooms, they are constructed indoors and in nature. As organic matter, the stick sculptures eventually disintegrate and fade back into the landscape. Featuring a wealth of photographs and drawings documenting the construction process of each remarkable structure, Stickwork preserves the legend of the man who weaves the simplest of materials into…

Patrick Dougherty and I discuss working through the traumas felt collectively as we enter a time of increasingly frequent destabilizing events, and how moving through collective trauma can lead us into cultivating empathetic connections with our fellow human beings. Patrick Dougherty is a veteran, clinical psychologist, and founder of Moving Through It, an organization that raises public awareness and cultivates a deeper understanding of collective trauma, as well as provides a means for individuals and groups to move through the various states of feeling we have all begun to experience as we enter a time of great uncertainty and instability. "For many of us, the world isn’t what it was just a few short years ago. Endless war, terrorism, the refugee crisis, rampant inequality and corruption, assaults on civil and workers’ rights, and the myriads of problems contributing to climate change, along with the growth of ultra-nationalism, xenophobia, and hate groups, have together shattered a sense of order many of us felt until recently. For others, the changes in their social and economic lives haven’t just lost its order, it has actually gotten much worse. This has been especially true for many low income and minority groups, where things have only gotten worse, sometimes much worse. The abrupt tearing of the social fabric and shared worldview that have bound us together has been traumatic for many of us. And the ongoing nature of the turmoil, for those who have experienced it for a long time already, and those of us getting accustomed to the world around as it is today, leads many of us to despair. We can do something about our trauma and despair, both personally and collectively. Working with them and doing what we can to move through them will help us make better decisions personally and collectively."* We discuss this, and much more, in this conversation. *[Source: https://movingthroughit.org/introduction] Episode Notes: - To learn more about collective trauma, Patrick, and his work, please go to his website: https://movingthroughit.org - The song featured in this episode is "Moonchild" by Flako from the album Mesektet Extnd. - Website: https://www.lastborninthewilderness.com - Support the podcast: PATREON: www.patreon.com/lastborninthewilderness ONE-TIME DONATION: www.ko-fi.com/lastborninthewilderness - Follow and listen: SOUNDCLOUD: www.soundcloud.com/lastborninthewilderness ITUNES: www.goo.gl/Fvy4ca GOOGLE PLAY: https://goo.gl/wYgMQc STITCHER: https://goo.gl/eeUBfS - Social Media: FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com/lastborninthewildernesspodcast TWITTER: www.twitter.com/lastbornpodcast INSTAGRAM: www.instagram.com/patterns.of.behavior

Present Absences: A peripatetic video of a temporary site-specific sculpture by Patrick Dougherty
Peripatetic video is a form of located media which is intended to manifest previous performances, experiences, or events that occurred in a given place at a later moment in that same place. Peripatetic video works through the active overlay of video and sound footage upon the same physical background through the intermediary of a small video camera with LCD screen and surround stereo headphones. In 2006, Christopher Witmore and Megan Goetsch, inspired by artist Janet Cardiff, undertook to create a peripatetic video walk responding to the installation of a new temporary sculpture by artist Patrick Dougherty on Brown’s College Green. Four years later, Dougherty’s sculpture is no more, and collaborating with Ian Russell, the original video from 2006 has been re-edited and is now represented allowing visitors to explore the present absences of the architecture of Dougherty’s temporary installation.
