We're continuing our special format series covering Stephen King's NIGHT SHIFT, focusing each week on a couple of stories with their own unique collection of hosts. This week, Nathan, Dave Courtney, Vera Goudie, and Jackson Harper brave the frightening effects of a bad can of beer when they discuss GRAY MATTER, and then Reed, Matt Murray, and Steve Beckley fight toy army men in a penthouse apartment with a conversation about BATTLEGROUND. Both of these stories were adapted for series anthology episodes: Gray Matter was featured on the first season of Shudder's Creepshow series and Battleground was adapted as a TNT mini-series called Nightmares and Dreamscapes. Our different groups dive into both the stories and the adaptations in some really fun and surprisingly thoughtful conversations as always. Also, for our patrons, there's a special bonus discussion where Blake Collier, Ian Olson, and Matt Ruff dive into THREE different stories from Night Shift, discussing JERUSALEM'S LOT, ONE FOR THE ROAD, and STRAWBERRY SPRING. This is a jam-packed, fun-filled episode that we really hope you enjoy.0:58 - Back to the Corporate Offices of The Fear of GodPatron Only Segment: JERUSALEM'S LOT, ONE FOR THE ROAD, & STRAWBERRY SPRING4:43 - GRAY MATTER33:56 - Break Room35:29 - BATTLEGROUND1:16:58 - Clocking OutSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Comedian, writer, producer, and actor Dana Gould has had his comedy-writing hands all over pop culture for the last couple decades. From his writing and performing on The Ben Stiller Show, and working as a writer/co-executive producer on The Simpsons, to acting on Seinfeld, Parks and Recreation, to appearing on Shudder's Creepshow, and creating the horror comedy Stan Against Evil. He is also the host of the exceptional Dana Gould Hour podcast and writes the Cinemorph newsletter. And for the last two seasons, he has been the man behind the monkey in “Hanging with Dr. Z,” the 1970s-flavored celebrity chat show where he plays host Dr. Zaius, from the original Planet of the Apes franchise. In the following Talking Strange interview with Aaron Sagers (Paranormal Caught on Camera), Gould discusses how his version of Dr. Z came to be, and why he chose the orangutan as the talk show host. Plus, he gives an update on more Stan Against Evil, and his Kolchak: The Night Stalker moment with The Sopranos' creator David Chase. And yes, we talk about ghosts, aliens, what's out there. For more Talking Strange videos, check out our YouTube Playlist, and download new episodes of the Talking Strange podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. If you like what you hear, please leave a review/rating. And give us a shout on TalkStrangePod on Twitter. Yeah, seriously people. Aisles at stores are made for two carts side by side going in different directions. Not morons taking up the whole aisle. Not grocery pickers working at the store. Move!!! I've been watching the second season of Shudder's Creepshow series and I have to say, it's great. If you don't know much about Creepshow's origin, it's derived from comics that Stephen King and George Romero loved as kids called EC Comics. Pretty great stuff. Still watching and loving Kim's Convenience as well. Give it a shot. Went through watching some other trailers for series the other night. Did watch an episode of Disjointed and one of Real Rob also. Might have to give #blackAF a look here soon. I think I'm gonna make me some of these record dividers. I just can't see ponying up for these. No way. Gotta get that stuff in order as it will soon be Record Store Day! No new records spinning here lately, but scoping out some Queensryche and Marillion records in the new future. I can't wait for the Sweet Tooth adaptation on Netflix. As you all know...I love that comic. That Star Wars Skywalker - A Family at War is pretty damned solid. Can't wait to dig in even more on it. Gotta get back on American Dirt. Not sure why I can't setup a regular time to ready every day. Here's the recent spins and our sweet new bedroom set. Go get yourself some Bombas socks and help out you and someone less fortunate each time you buy a pair. See ya next week. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thedadsnarkpodcast/message

In 1982, filmmaker George A. Romero (Night Of The Living Dead) and author Stephen King (IT, Carrie, The Shining), the masters of terror and the macabre, gave us Creepshow, a horror anthology film inspired by the classic EC Comics of the 1950s and it was the most fun we ever had being scared. In 2019, under the guiding hand of executive producer Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead), Creepshow is back as a six week series streaming exclusively on Shudder. The third episode of Creepshow includes the stories All Hallows Eve and The Man In The Suitcase. All Hallows Eve was directed by John Harrison (Creepshow, Tales From The Crypt, Tales From The Darkside) from a teleplay by John Esposito (From Dusk Till Dawn, The Walking Dead). The Man In The Suitcase was directed by David Bruckner (The Signal) from a teleplay by Christopher Buehlman.
