Mentioned in this episode: What are three things that went well for you this quarter? What are you most proud of from the past three months? What did you complete or move forward that felt meaningful? What surprised you about how the quarter unfolded? What didn't go the way you expected—and what did you learn from it? When you think about the goals you set at the beginning of the year, where have you made the most progress? Where have you stalled? Why are you stalled? Which goals still feel energizing and relevant? Are there goals that now feel less important or out of alignment with what you need? What activities gave you energy this quarter? What drained your energy the most? When did you feel most focused or in flow? When did you feel overwhelmed or stretched too thin? What systems, routines, or practices supported your progress? What tools or structures didn't work as well as you hoped? Where did you overcommit? What helped you stay organized or grounded? What did this quarter teach you about how you work best? What did you learn about your priorities? What is one insight you want to carry forward into the next quarter? What would you like the next quarter to feel like? What do you want to do more of in the next three months? What do you want to do less of? What is one small adjustment you can make moving forward? If the next quarter were to go really well, what would be different? Why am I here? Because I'm not here just to occupy space. I'm supposed to be doing something with this gift I've been given, called life. What do I do with it?” “We entangle our identity and our occupation… that's not you. You've got to untangle this stuff.” “The cycle of life, you're either growing or you're dying. There is no in-between.” “Those little baby steps along the way are a good thing. They don't necessarily feel great in the moment. They feel okay. It's just when we take the moment to stop, turn around, and look to see how far we've come, then we realize we have grown so much.” “Your identity is worked out over time, in community.” “Want what you already have.” “Anytime you're pointing at someone, remember — there's a thumb headed up toward heaven, three other fingers pointing back at you. So whatever you say to somebody should apply to you at least three times as much.” “Seeking certainty is a lack of faith. God is not a God of certainty. He's a God of mystery. And when you can embrace the mystery, then you're like, ‘Oh, I don't need certainty. Wherever he wants me to go, I go.” “False identity is that you're a bad dad, you're a bad husband, you're a bad community leader... the true identity is what God tells you. It's what He reveals to you.” USEFUL RESOURCES: https://whitestonecoach.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/peterjawad/ https://www.instagram.com/thepeterawad/ https://www.facebook.com/thepeterawad https://x.com/peterawad CONNECT WITH JOHN Website - https://iamjohnhulen.com    Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/johnhulen    Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/johnhulen    X - https://x.com/johnhulen    LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnhulen    YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLX_NchE8lisC4NL2GciIWA    EPISODE CREDITS Intro and Outro music provided by Jeff Scheetz - https://jeffscheetz.com/

They offer impactful transparency, from discussing the importance of website speed, user experience, and SEO to practicing mindfulness and finding balance. They share insights on optimizing WordPress websites for performance, including hosting, caching, and image optimization tips. They also discuss the role of content in driving traffic and engagement, as well as strategies for leveraging social media to grow an online presence. Top Takeaways:Imposter Syndrome. Imposter syndrome is very common among people who work in tech, and it's important to acknowledge it and understand that it's okay to feel this way. It's helpful to talk to others about your feelings and to remind yourself of your accomplishments and skills. It's important not to compare yourself to others and focus on your progress and growth. Seeking support from a therapist or coach can be very helpful in managing imposter syndrome.Slow Hustle. Take a more intentional, thoughtful, and sustainable approach to work and life. Instead of constantly hustling and working long hours, “slow hustle” focuses on balancing work and rest, taking breaks, and being intentional about your work. Finding a pace that works for you helps in avoiding burnout. “Slow hustle” can help you find more fulfillment and purpose in your work and can be beneficial for long-term success.Personal Brand. Building a personal brand can help in various aspects of life. Establish your personal brand by identifying and highlighting your unique skills and strengths, being authentic and consistent, and cultivating relationships. Use social media and online platforms to share your expertise and connect with potential clients or collaborators. Continually invest in your personal and professional development, whether through learning new skills, attending conferences, or seeking mentorship or coaching. Remember the importance of maintaining a positive and professional online presence and reputation, as this can greatly impact your personal brand and career success.

A recent HBO documentary entitled The Slow Hustle has brought renewed attention to the mysterious death of Baltimore homicide detective Sean Suiter in 2017. Police initially claimed Suiter was the victim of a lone assailant after his body was found in a West Baltimore alley with a gunshot wound to the head. But as details began to emerge regarding Suiter's involvement with some of Baltimore's most corrupt cops, the case took a turn that raised serious questions about what actually happened and if his death was part of a broader cover-up.Shortly after Suiter died, Police Accountability Report hosts Taya Graham and Stephen Janis produced a podcast series that looked behind the scenes and examined how Suiter's death told a more complex story about police corruption in Baltimore. In Part IV of this podcast series, Graham and Janis return to the case five years after Suiter's death with Baltimore veteran reporter Jayne Miller to review a previously unreleased investigation conducted by the Maryland State Police.Jayne Miller was a reporter with local Baltimore tv station WBAL-TV for over 40 years.Studio/Post-Production: Stephen JanisHelp us continue producing radically independent news and in-depth analysis by following us and becoming a monthly sustainer: Donate: https://therealnews.com/donate-podSign up for our newsletter: https://therealnews.com/newsletter-podLike us on Facebook: https://facebook.com/therealnewsFollow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/therealnews

From director Sonja Sohn (Baltimore Rising) star of HBO's The Wire, comes THE SLOW HUSTLE, an American tale of how the culture of law enforcement corruption penetrates the system at every level, destroying lives, as ordinary citizens, hardworking local journalists, and a few rebellious public servants endeavor to pick up the pieces. When Baltimore police detective Sean Suiter is shot and killed on duty the day before he is scheduled to testify before a federal grand jury, a mystery unravels that raises questions about what story he was going to tell about his fellow officers. The infamously corrupt Gun Trace Task Force is the focus of an investigation that exposes members of an elite task force as a criminal gang and that proves to be one of the dirtiest police units in US history. THE SLOW HUSTLE follows Detective Suiter's widow and children as they work to uncover clues and hold the Baltimore Police Department and City Hall accountable. Meanwhile dogged journalists strive to crack the case, including D. Watkins, author of We Speak for Ourselves: How Woke Culture Prohibits Progress, and Justin Fenton, author of We Own This City: A True Story of Crime, Cops, and Corruption. At the vortex lies Detective Sean Suiter, with the conflicting theories of his death and the complexities of his life, creating a dizzying portrait of the human challenges of modern policing in the age of rising violent crime and police. Director Sonja Sohn joins us to talk about how the death of Detective Sean Suiter's unsolved death has affected the lives of the Suiter family and the corrosive impact that the scandal has had on the Baltimore Police Department, and the standing of Baltimore's political establishment.
