Moreover, The Relationships & Revenue with John Hulen podcast is unique in its emphasis on faith as a crucial foundation for achieving success at home and at work. While there are numerous strengths to The Relationships & Revenue with John Hulen podcast, one possible drawback may be its focus solely on men. I have to do what feels right.” “There's magic and transformation when you bring like-minded, passionate people together.” “When you try to appeal to everybody, you actually end up appealing to nobody.” “All those no's I got—some people say rejected—I just say redirected. I always thought, ‘Well, that's okay, that's one more no to get me closer to that yes.'” “What's meant for us will always come to us.” “Why would I get a job making minimum wage like my friends, when I can literally make $600 in a day doing my own business?” “Create a life that you don't want to escape from.” “No is actually one of the best things you can hear—and that is counterintuitive. The more no's you get, the closer you get to the right yeses—the people you need to be investing in and spending time with. What you don't want is that kind of half-hearted ‘Yeah, okay' from someone, and you end up investing a lot of time, and it ends up being a waste for you.” “Being resilient is definitely not bouncing back. It's choosing to move forward with courage so you can have a life filled with laughter and love and joy. And it's getting up again and being unstoppable.” “When you shift your mindset with gratitude, it is alchemy. It really gets you focused on what you can do instead of what you can't do. And it allows you to be in acceptance of where you are, who you are, and where you are on your journey.” “Grit when you're working hard is good, but grit without connection is resistance. It's clawing your way to the top. It's hitting roadblocks, or it's burnout. But grit with connection—that's where we really find resilience.” “When you have a why, you can get through any how.” “I focused on the fact that they said I had a chance. There's a 1% chance to save my leg. And so that's what I'm going to focus on.” “A good leader is a good listener. They have compassion. They're willing to share their struggles. They're willing to walk alongside their team.” BOOKS MENTIONED: The One Truth: Elevate Your Mind, Unlock Your Power, Heal Your Soul by Jon Gordon (https://a.co/d/5twkXz7) The Happy Hustle Version 2.0 by Cary Jack (https://a.co/d/3wgkRcw) The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom by Don Miguel Ruiz & Janet Mills (https://a.co/d/3fk3uHM) USEFUL RESOURCES: https://amberlylago.com/ https://amberlylago.com/podcast/ https://www.instagram.com/amberlylagomotivation https://www.linkedin.com/in/amberlylago/ https://www.facebook.com/amberly.lago/ https://x.com/AmberlyLago https://www.youtube.com/@AmberlyLagoMotivation The Pace of Pain - TEDxBerkeley (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3gEfdAcO_8) True Grit and Grace: Turning Tragedy into Triumph (https://a.co/d/gKdsjVp) Joy Through the Journey: Shift Your Mindset, Embrace the Present Moment, and Cultivate Resilience Through Life's Ups and Downs (https://a.co/d/gOiq4Sj) CONNECT WITH JOHN Website - https://iamjohnhulen.com Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/johnhulen Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/johnhulen X - https://x.com/johnhulen LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnhulen YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLX_NchE8lisC4NL2GciIWA EPISODE CREDITS Intro and Outro music provided by Jeff Scheetz - https://jeffscheetz.com/

It sucks today — and that's totally fine.” “Most of the leaders that I know have ‘visionary' as their primary trait. They can dream big dreams, but they have no clue how to make them happen. They hate details, and I gently remind them that when it comes to vision, without the details, your vision doesn't happen. Just remember that. It's important because details matter.” “You are one connection away from massive success in your life and business.” “Clarity leads to competence. Competence leads to confidence. And when that person becomes one of your greatest fans, they actually do your selling for you.” “Visibility + Credibility = Profitability.” “We're just focused on shoving more people through the front door, not taking care of the ones that we already have.” “The wealthiest people I've ever known have had the best relationships, and the wealth has nothing to do with money. Nothing.” “Money is a tool to take care of my family and to help other families. That's it. That's all it's good for.” “There's one person in your network right now who has access to everything you need, but you don't know it.” “It will cost you way less money to nurture that relationship than to gain new ones.” The 3 C's and 3 I's Framework for Long-Term Success: Clarity → Competence → Confidence Influence → Impact → Income USEFUL RESOURCES: https://devinsizemore.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/dpsizemore/ https://www.instagram.com/dpsizemore/ https://www.facebook.com/dpsizemore https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWOKSsJYXZUu1iJSNlfZmJA Connection Expansion: You are One Connection Away from Massive Success in Your Life and Business (https://a.co/d/2GdmheB) CONNECT WITH JOHN Website - https://iamjohnhulen.com Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/johnhulen Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/johnhulen X - https://x.com/johnhulen LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnhulen YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLX_NchE8lisC4NL2GciIWA EPISODE CREDITS Intro and Outro music provided by Jeff Scheetz - https://jeffscheetz.com/

You cannot get to the next level, or five or 10 levels beyond that, without help, without a coach.” “There's no such thing as a child prodigy—if you do a little investigating, you'll see that Mozart and all the child prodigies were surrounded by it, immersed in it, and put in the work.” “Every overnight success has poured hundreds and thousands of hours into whatever the craft happens to be.” “We need repetition to learn. You gotta fall in love with the process, and that process is exciting.” “Let the emotional thing that's tied to the failure—let it go. But steal the lesson from that moment to become more. That's the process, and that's a beautiful thing. That's the reward. The reward is, ‘Yeah, I fell down today, but when I got back up, I learned how not to fall that way again.'” “If I don't have my health, I don't have anything else.” “The gateway to success is an inside-out game. It has to start inside you.” “I can't worry about my neighbor right now when I'm trying to fix my home. So let me put my home in the right place, and then maybe, by example, I can be a great example to my neighbor.” “I know that I have the power to change myself. I may not have the power to change others because they have to decide they want to change.” “We all have a seed of greatness. We're here to serve. We're here for a purpose. We're here for a reason. We weren't talking baseball. We weren't talking about, you know, money or anything else. It was love, and it was about being in the moment.” “Failing is important. We actually need to fail because that's when the opportunity to learn presents itself. You don't learn a thing by doing it right. You only have an opportunity to learn when you do it wrong.” “If you don't know what you want to do, and you don't know where you want to go, when life throws you a set of circumstances, you're going to get buried in those circumstances.” “What happens when the world throws you a set of circumstances that are out of your control, and Mommy and Daddy can't make you happy any longer? You actually have to go through it, learn from it, and figure out how to move forward. So, let the kids learn that emotional IQ.” “The name on the front of the uniform is a lot more important than the name on the back of the uniform.” “Championships are won through getting uncomfortable, growing, and coming together as a team.” “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, take others with you.” “Today, we have a reaction problem, and if we can teach people to respond versus react, you'd see a much different outcome.” “Love your neighbor as if it were yourself. If we could all follow the Golden Rule, wouldn't we have world peace?” “Words are shallow; actions are deep.” “The beautiful thing about your first step is you might learn not the ‘how to,' but it's a lesson, and then it continues to move you forward.” “The reward is the process.” USEFUL RESOURCES: https://toddofficial.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/toddstottlemyre/ https://www.instagram.com/todd.stott https://www.facebook.com/todd.stottlemyre https://x.com/ToddStottlemyre https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKJCB98_92Se0jK08SdmuRw Relentless Success: 9-Point System for Major League Achievement (https://a.co/d/gZU8r8I) The Observer: A Modern Fable on Mastering Your Thoughts & Emotions (https://a.co/d/dy4tSSW) CONNECT WITH JOHN Website - https://thejohnhulen.com Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/johnhulen Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/johnhulen X - https://x.com/johnhulen LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnhulen YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLX_NchE8lisC4NL2GciIWA EPISODE CREDITS Intro and Outro music provided by Jeff Scheetz - https://jeffscheetz.com/

And so, if you have a big goal, a big family, or a big business to run, it takes a lot of people to make that happen.” “Our calendar really is the truth-teller of what we value in our lives.” “If you always do things right, you don't learn a thing. You only learn when you fail.” “I need to be kind to myself because that actually makes me stronger. The world's hard enough—me being hard on myself isn't going to help the situation at all.” “No one remembers what the goal looks like. They remember the score of the game.” “No's are actually a good thing. Those no's are so important because, first of all, a no almost always is not a forever no—it's a no at the moment. And the other is that when they say no, that helps narrow the pool down for you. It gets you closer to knowing who your people are.” “Not all crazy ideas are good, but all good ideas are a little bit crazy.” “The more we can invest in ourselves, the more it gives us to invest in other people. You can't give what you don't have.” BOOKS MENTIONED: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by R. Stephen Covey (https://a.co/d/iSg11cx) The Richest Man In Babylon by George S. So it's being patient, it's being persistent. It's failing and getting back up.” “You have got to be self-aware because if you're not, you cannot be situationally aware.” “Never partner up with someone who's either going to treat you with disrespect or create chaos and negativity.” “The number one, most accurate indicator of deception is behavioral incongruence.” “Ask an interrogative question. Make it clear, concise, and specific. You'll get the answer you want and need.” “Be super clear, concise, direct, and deliberate in your questioning and communication.” “Just because you're asking these very direct, specific, pinpointed, good questions doesn't mean you have to sound like a robot.” “If your gut feeling is saying, ‘Don't trust them,' pay attention to that gut feeling.” “Be ready to lead when you have to, and be ready to serve when you have to.” BOOK MENTIONED: Leading Leaders: How to Manage Smart, Talented, Rich, and Powerful People by Jeswald W. Big ideas and big visions are great, but you've got to have people who know how to put them together. That's where the details come into play.” “It is so easy to go in, lose your cool, act with disrespect, yell, and squeak. A two-year-old can do that. But show me somebody who has the skill, the emotional intelligence, and the mental agility to use all of our tactics and traits—remain respectful, build that rapport, and let everything coming at you just flow right off of you.” “The art of effective communication is how you sound. Body language, your tone of voice, and your personality—all of that plays a role.” “Interrogation is just a conversation and a story. You have a conversation with an intent and an objective. You are communicating with another human being for a purpose.” “Every possible thing that comes up that can create negative thoughts—you've got to get rid of it, work through it, and move past it.” “When you're writing nonfiction, you have to keep that person in mind that you're writing to. But the easiest person to write to is your formerly stuck self, because you know that person intimately.” “Negotiation starts with a mindset, and that mindset is critical to success and getting what you want because that's what negotiation is.” “I can do it when there's nothing stopping me from doing anything. So why not?” “If you know someone's personality preferences, it's going to make your communication so much more effective.” “Your role as a leader is to create the next leader.” USEFUL RESOURCES: https://www.thecongruencygroup.com/ https://www.sectorintell.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/lena-sisco-8a31b451/ https://www.instagram.com/lenasisco11/ https://x.com/lenasisco https://www.facebook.com/lena.sisco https://www.facebook.com/lenasiscoTCG https://www.youtube.com/@therealinterrogationroom "My Secret to Breaking Terrorists: Detecting Deception & Rapport" - TEDx Talk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9j8iJHSCbY&t=63s You're Lying: Secrets From an Expert Military Interrogator to Spot the Lies and Get to the Truth (https://a.co/d/1kQm5eg) Marine Scout Snipers: True Stories From U.S. Marine Corp Snipers (https://a.co/d/94OrIqW) Honest Answers: Interview and Negotiation Skills to Get to the Truth (https://a.co/d/9g5VBK5) CONNECT WITH JOHN Website - https://iamjohnhulen.com Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/johnhulen Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/johnhulen X - https://x.com/johnhulen LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnhulen YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLX_NchE8lisC4NL2GciIWA EPISODE CREDITS Intro and Outro music provided by Jeff Scheetz - https://jeffscheetz.com/

And no matter what age you're at, get a mentor.” “Hints don't work with men. Just say what you mean.” “There should be nothing about your spouse that you don't know. Nothing. It's your job to be the expert on her. That's your job. Her best girlfriend should not know as much as you know.” USEFUL RESOURCES: https://www.alisonmaycommunications.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/alison-maloni-374aba8/ https://www.instagram.com/alisonmaloni/ https://www.instagram.com/alisonmaycommunications/ https://www.facebook.com/alisonmaypr https://www.facebook.com/AlisonMaloniTV/ Breaking in the News: Building Buzz for Your Brand (https://a.co/d/3uyqg7W) CONNECT WITH JOHN Website - https://iamjohnhulen.com Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/johnhulen Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/johnhulen Twitter - https://www.twitter.com/johnhulen LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnhulen YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLX_NchE8lisC4NL2GciIWA EPISODE CREDITS Intro and Outro music provided by Jeff Scheetz - https://jeffscheetz.com/
John talks with Alison Maloni — author of Breaking in the News: Building Buzz for Your Brand, speaker, news anchor with Newsmax TV, President and CEO of Alison May Public Relations, journalist, media relations expert, and loving wife and mother. Prior to being a news anchor, Alison was a TV producer and reporter and has also been featured in Time magazine with Dr. Oz. Listen to this episode to learn more: [00:00] – Intro [02:26] – Alison's bio [03:38] – Alison's backstory and finding her passion for journalism [07:44] – Balancing her business and family life [11:27] – Reality of entrepreneurship vs. the glamorized image on social media [13:56] – Importance of networking and serving others in business [18:12] – Shifting from just promoting your services to telling authentic stories [21:13] – Connecting with people and building your brand [26:03] – Why Alison started a PR firm [29:37] – Alison's team structure [30:29] – Hiring your replacements [31:51] – Alison's upcoming book [34:54] – The power of tears [37:29] – Breaking in the News book [38:54] – John's rule of buying 2 copies of a book [41:56] – Outro NOTABLE QUOTES: “When people talk about starting their own business, it often sounds glamorized—working whenever you want, being your own boss. But the reality is, every client becomes a boss, and instead of one, you have many to answer to.” “If you're doing networking right, your job is to meet new people—first, just to meet them; second, to ask, ‘How can I help that person?' That's what I need to be focused on: helping the other person. Because when I do that, eventually, it comes around.” “Relationships are the currency of business.” “I learned to set boundaries, explain to my clients, and prioritize my family.” “Serving people is where it's at. If you want to make a difference in the world, in both your personal life and your business life, ask yourself: What can I do to help the person who's in front of me right now? What's the one thing I can do to help them?” “People remember stories. They don't remember how long you've been in business. They don't remember the price of the services. They remember the story, and you have to keep telling them the stories.” “Be yourself. Be authentic. Be real. It's okay to mess up. You don't need to have a perfect video. You don't need to have a perfect social media account—just engage with your customers.” “When you're looking to hire somebody, hire someone with expertise in that area. Even if they only know 70% of what you know, that's fine; you can train them the rest of the way. But if you can find someone who's much higher than that, do that.” “Tears are both cathartic and healing, but they often unsettle people. I used to feel that way too, but now I see them as revealing a person's true self. A smile can hide so much, but tears bring out the realness.” “There are barriers between people all the time. Some are real, some are imagined. But there's something about sharing tears with another person—those barriers get knocked down, and then you're just two people together, sharing a moment.” “I think people are afraid of crying. I think they're afraid it makes them look weak. But it's actually the opposite.” USEFUL RESOURCES: https://www.alisonmaycommunications.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/alison-maloni-374aba8/ https://www.instagram.com/alisonmaloni/ https://www.instagram.com/alisonmaycommunications/ https://www.facebook.com/alisonmaypr https://www.facebook.com/AlisonMaloniTV/ Breaking in the News: Building Buzz for Your Brand (https://a.co/d/3uyqg7W) CONNECT WITH JOHN Website - https://iamjohnhulen.com Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/johnhulen Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/johnhulen Twitter - https://www.twitter.com/johnhulen LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnhulen YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLX_NchE8lisC4NL2GciIWA EPISODE CREDITS Intro and Outro music provided by Jeff Scheetz - https://jeffscheetz.com/

John continues his conversation with Matt Beaudreau. In Part 1, Matt discussed his perspective on education, the flaws in traditional education, the concept of real learning, and his mission to transform the educational system through his organization, Apogee Strong. Matt believes that true education is about developing sovereignty, freedom, and the ability to define your path in life. In this episode, they discuss the importance of engaging in respectful conversations (even when disagreements arise), questioning everything to keep learning and growing, and much more! Everybody has something amazing to offer the world, and a lot of times, they've learned it through being a total moron and through pain. They're still also struggling to get better somewhere.” “Be careful on both extremes. If you consume too much and don't put it out, you're like a sponge that's full of water. A sponge is designed to be wrung out so it can absorb again. But if you're always giving and never receiving, you're dry, hard, and kind of brittle.” “Don't get stuck in infobesity. Don't get stuck in just consuming and never acting on what you consume.” “Leaders don't care about the number of followers; they care about building more leaders.” “Good questions are always better than the answers. As soon as you assume you have the answer, you inherently stop growing in that arena.” “It's okay to take a lot away from a book, wrestle with concepts, and say, ‘I don't agree with this, but I do agree with that.' Growth comes from that wrestling.” “At the end of the day, all education ends up being self-education. So there's got to be a bit of self-awareness in there too.” BOOKS MENTIONED: Radical Honesty: How to Transform Your Life by Telling the Truth by Brad Blanton (https://a.co/d/6Dj8gni) The Alter Ego Effect: The Power of Secret Identities to Transform Your Life by Todd Herman (https://a.co/d/3Ugz1Z8) PODCASTS MENTIONED: The Craig Groeschel Leadership Podcast (https://tinyurl.com/CraigGroeschelLeadershipPod) Read to Lead Podcast (https://tinyurl.com/ReadToLeadPodcast) USEFUL RESOURCES: https://apogeestrong.com/ https://www.apogeestrongfoundation.org/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/matt-beaudreau-071a5b99/ https://www.instagram.com/mattbeaudreau/ https://x.com/MattBeaudreau https://www.facebook.com/matt.beaudrea https://youtu.be/JPAXMNXy5UQ?si=1Mk62agvQHNOKLRm https://youtu.be/fv8tYbljc0s?si=ISC9MBP8EmCIlBwX CONNECT WITH JOHN Website - https://iamjohnhulen.com Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/johnhulen Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/johnhulen Twitter - https://www.twitter.com/johnhulen LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnhulen YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLX_NchE8lisC4NL2GciIWA EPISODE CREDITS Intro and Outro music provided by Jeff Scheetz - https://jeffscheetz.com/

It involves relationships and paying attention to the humans. It's about teaching people instead of teaching a curriculum.” “Education does not have anything to do with subjects. It has to do with a transfer of the way of life.” “Life does not reward you for being a great student in terms of skill transferability. From an educational standpoint, I want to make education as close to life as possible.” “Education should be a microcosm of the life you're actually going to live.” “I have an approach to business that comes through the avenue of life. I believe in order to be great in business, you actually have to be great at home, because it's all about relationships—both of them.” “In the short term, you're as good as your intensity. In the long term, you're as good as your consistency.” “If you cannot explain something simply enough, as if you were explaining it to a five year old, you don't understand it well enough.” “Simplicity is always a good goal.” “Far too often, we overcomplicate things to try and make ourselves look smart.” “Say the things you mean, mean the things you say, and you're not going to go overboard.” “The kids' issues are just a byproduct of our issues projected upon them.” “You can't tell your kids they can be anything they want while you're miserable at your job. And the question is, are those thoughts helping you or hurting you?” “Be aware of your thoughts. Recognize what you're thinking, then take those thoughts captive and ask yourself, ‘Is this thought helping me or hurting me?' If it's hurting you, release it and replace it with the right way of thinking.” “Our thoughts affect our emotions, which affect our body's response, and so this starts to come to life for us and puts a lot of control back in people's lives and in what can feel like a very uncontrollable world that we're living in today.” “We don't fight against flesh and blood; we fight against principalities of the darkness.” “If we fill our mind with the straight Twitter feed of negativity, there's going to be no room for good stuff. And it's just going to be this constant fill of more anxiety and more stress. So, be very mindful of what you let in.” “The problem for most people is that when the pain comes, and we're bombarded with this message that pain is bad, it's horrible, that we should do everything we can to avoid it. But purpose tells us the exact opposite. You have to work through it. You should expect it. It needs to be there because it owns your purpose. It leads you directly to it. It clarifies what your purpose is.” “If everything rises and falls on leadership, what does leadership rise and fall on? And that's where I think mindset comes into play.” “A mindset is like an Instagram filter on your brain. You could have one picture, and if you put a black-and-white filter over it, it looks very different than if you put a Lo-Fi filter over it.” “Everything we know in brain science is in the Bible. But the cool thing about science is no one feels a certain way about science, so you can talk to everybody about these things.” USEFUL RESOURCES: https://selkingperformance.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/amberlattner/ https://www.instagram.com/drselking/ https://x.com/ChampMindsets https://x.com/DrSelking https://www.facebook.com/selkingperformancegroup/ https://www.facebook.com/alattner "Winning the Mental Game: The Playbook for Building Championship Mindsets" (https://a.co/d/7dpSpIA) "A Dream Come True: The Buzz on Greatness (Zip the Bee Book 1)" (https://a.co/d/eoKIwQw) "Winner's Circle (Zip the Bee Book 2)" (https://a.co/d/ep26gs1) CONNECT WITH JOHN Website - https://johnhulen.pro Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/johnhulen Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/johnhulen Twitter - https://www.twitter.com/johnhulen LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnhulen YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLX_NchE8lisC4NL2GciIWA EPISODE CREDITS Intro and Outro music provided by Jeff Scheetz - https://jeffscheetz.com/

It doesn't matter how much time you have; it's about how you make it count.” “The one thing you can do that will almost bulletproof your marriage is to pray intentionally with each other.” “As business owners, we waste more time than we realize. If you audit your time and where you're spending it, are those areas productive? I guarantee you, 100% of the time, it's not. In fact, only 20% of our time is actually spent on productive work. We need to flip the ratio to make 70% of our time productive.” “Business is personal because it involves people.” “What's ordinary to you is magic to other people.” “Actions speak louder than words. People want to be shown, not told.” “The more you affirm someone, the better it is for the relationship.” “The best leaders I've ever known have been the ones who, when something goes wrong, take the blame, even though they're not at fault. Those are the stories people want to hear.” “You can't keep anyone in check. The premise of the book is really this: when you bring two people together, they get to bring their own individuality.” “A relationship is not about dominance or submission. It's about two people coming together and creating something greater than the sum of the two parts.” “Having the ability to create something that makes the world better on your own is a blessing, but doing it with the person you love the most is ten times better.” “The most valuable asset that you have is your name, and unfortunately, some people sell off that asset for a pittance.” “Know yourself and never settle down. Keep your standards.” “Never do business with someone that you wouldn't want to have a coffee, a tea, a beer, or wine with.” “Leaders read and readers lead.” “The greatest leaders never had a title.” BOOK MENTIONED: The Coming Wave: Technology, Power, and the 21st Century's Greatest Dilemma by Mustafa Suleyman (https://a.co/d/8iYYWlY) PODCASTS MENTIONED: Lex Fridman Podcast (https://tinyurl.com/LexFridmanPod) The Why Files Podcast (https://tinyurl.com/TheWhyFilesPodcast) The Craig Groeschel Leadership Podcast (https://tinyurl.com/CraigGroeschelLeadershipPod) Read to Lead Podcast with Jeff Brown (https://tinyurl.com/ReadToLeadPodcast) USEFUL RESOURCES: https://stormieandrews.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/shawnandrews143/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/stormieandrews/ https://www.breatheconvention.com/ https://www.instagram.com/shawnwillis5am/ https://www.instagram.com/stormie_a/ https://www.facebook.com/quinn.vega https://www.facebook.com/stormie.andrews.3 https://x.com/StormieAndrews “The World's Best Buyer Persona Reimagined: It's Not Who They Are But HOW THEY THINK!” (https://a.co/d/3RsxRG5) “The 21 Laws to Keep Your Woman in Check” (https://a.co/d/1Lwwdy7) CONNECT WITH JOHN Website - https://thejohnhulen.com Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/johnhulen Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/johnhulen Twitter - https://www.twitter.com/johnhulen LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnhulen YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLX_NchE8lisC4NL2GciIWA EPISODE CREDITS Intro and Outro music provided by Jeff Scheetz - https://jeffscheetz.com/

It's giving them instruction so they can perform their job better with a lot of people to accomplish the mission.” “The best leaders replicate themselves, meaning they create more leaders.” “A passable leader has followers; it doesn't take much to do that. It takes something special to create other leaders, to see that kernel of potential and help it become what it could be.” “Don't be embarrassed about a small donation because it's the act of donating that makes a difference in a person's life. How do we sustain success? How do we live our best lives?'” “Empathy and authenticity open the space for others to be open with you.” “Coaching, like any other relationship, is a two-way street. There has to be, ‘I think you're a good fit,' and you have to think, ‘I'm a good fit.' It has to go both ways. And if it doesn't, it isn't going to work.” “Selling is serving. You never know the impact that message might have, whether it drives revenue or not.” “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% your attitude and how you respond to it.” “Show up each day with gratitude and say, how can I steward this the best way possible?” “Your circumstances plus your perspective determine your experience. If you want to have a better experience, have a better perspective on whatever is happening around you. You get to choose your perspective on that thing, and it will be good or bad, not because of what it is, but because of the way that you view it.” BOOKS MENTIONED: 10x Is Easier Than 2x: How World-Class Entrepreneurs Achieve More by Doing Less by Dan Sullivan (https://a.co/d/eD5Kh9R) The Power of Moments: Why Certain Experiences Have Extraordinary Impact by Chip Heath and Dan Heath (https://a.co/d/h03kZtO) USEFUL RESOURCES: https://www.deshazo.me https://www.bebetterleaders.com https://www.intothestormbook.com https://www.keepchoppingwood.com https://www.instagram.com/kevindeshazo https://x.com/kevindeshazo https://www.linkedin.com/in/kevindeshazo/ https://www.facebook.com/kevindeshazospeaks/ https://www.youtube.com/user/kevindeshazo "Into the Storm: How to Turn Adversity Into Your Advantage" (https://a.co/d/fNfXnKX) "Keep Chopping Wood: An Ordinary Approach to Achieving Extraordinary Success" (https://a.co/d/fZljRly) CONNECT WITH JOHN Website - https://thejohnhulen.com Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/johnhulen Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/johnhulen Twitter - https://www.twitter.com/johnhulen LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnhulen YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLX_NchE8lisC4NL2GciIWA EPISODE CREDITS Intro and Outro music provided by Jeff Scheetz - https://jeffscheetz.com/

They may not have the talent level, but they have the discipline. They have the commitment, but they also have the character and the willingness to lead, and people will follow them.” “It doesn't matter what your industry is, what your age is; you just need to figure out where your people are on social media and then determine how you can add value.” “Figure out where your audience is and what they want on those platforms. Every platform has its own psychology, and people want different things from each.” “In today's world, people care a little bit about your brand. They care more about you…That doesn't mean you have to show your whole life, but when you can show your interest, passion, expertise, and just be generous with your thoughts and expertise, which is going to be helpful to a lot of people.” “People care a little bit about your brand. They care more about you. We want to buy from people. We want to connect with people.” “You can have every leadership skill in the world. You can read every great leadership book, go to every great leadership conference, and listen to every great leadership podcast, and they're all great. You can build up all of these skills, but when the pressure hits, if you can't think clearly, none of those skills are actually going to help you.” “The better you get at being a clear and more concise and a better communicator, the more you're going to win.” “Our thoughts shape our actions; our actions shape our outcomes. Most people experience negative outcomes in their lives because they're taking negative actions. They're not choosing those negative actions; they are simply a natural outflow of negative thoughts.” “The only way to get better at dealing with adversity is to deal with adversity. Most people are terrible at dealing with adversity because they refuse to deal with it. It's not that you try to forget them; you try to ignore them. But there's that pain of knowing that you've lost things you wanted—things you maybe worked for—and because of your addiction, you had to give them away, or they were taken away.” “It's important that we all recognize our natural rhythms and accommodate them to the best of our ability.” “The positive choices rewire the brain. And when you make good positive choices in your recovery, it's a new normal.” “Challenge your own thoughts if you find yourself caught in negative loops.” “Success in life is more about having meaningful work, challenging but not too much, and a balanced life.” “You have to decide what you're going to do about the pain you've experienced and hopefully find a way to heal and give back to others.” “When you get to work on time, today and tomorrow and the next day, you do that for a month, that it's usually a habit. It's not a struggle anymore. But I knew that I had to deal with my trauma because if I didn't, I was never going to really be happy.” “Don't think about what it's going to take for you to get out of the building today. Think about what it's going to take you to get out of this room, and then once you get out of this room, into the hall, and so on.” “It's helpful to listen to what worked for other people. It's helpful to read other ideas because they're sources of information that may help you. It's just that you're the decision-maker.” “It took a long time and a lot of work for me... It was a lot harder and took much longer for me to recover from the trauma than from my substance use disorder.” “One of the dangers of our society right now is that everywhere we turn, there are promises of instant success or instant changing of a problem into something that's great. That's not reality. If you spend a lifetime tying knots in your rope, you can't expect to have them all untied just because you took a pill or you went to an hour with some shrink.” USEFUL RESOURCES: https://junkietojudge.com https://www.linkedin.com/in/mary-beth-o-connor-8aaa4b121/ https://x.com/MaryBethO_ https://www.facebook.com/marybeth.holuboconnor/ “From Junkie to Judge: One Woman's Triumph Over Trauma and Addiction” (https://a.co/d/fBuYR61) CONNECT WITH JOHN Website - https://thejohnhulen.com Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/johnhulen Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/johnhulen Twitter - https://www.twitter.com/johnhulen LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnhulen YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLX_NchE8lisC4NL2GciIWA EPISODE CREDITS Intro and Outro music provided by Jeff Scheetz - https://jeffscheetz.com/

They have the opportunity to do things they haven't been able to do now.” “Always be working yourself out of a job.” “You have to own your real estate, which means you have to own your emails, phone numbers, etc. Because when you're on a platform like Facebook, Instagram, etc., and you are one of the big companies, get the emails because if they shut you down, you lose everything, including your revenue.” “You are allowed to feel what you feel. But you're in control of how you react. So your feelings are valid, but it's how you react that makes a difference.” “Whatever makes you happy. That is success for you.” “Record yourself. And the best thing is, it's you can even use it for social media. It's not even just to practice; you can actually hit two birds with one stone.” “The first one you do will always be the worst, it's always going to be the worst one. If your hands are too dirty, you're too far in the trenches, and now you'll drown with them instead of helping them.” “You don't create trust. People give us trust based on the value we've delivered.” “Relationship is the true currency of business.” “If your clients come to you because of money, they're going to leave for the same reason. In the previous episode, John and Dr. Keira Barr discussed her journey into the field of dermatology and how her skin changes led her to discover the interconnectedness between the mind, body, and skin. If you look at the literature, one of the number one predictors of outcome is social support. Feeling alone, feeling disconnected is one of the primary reasons that people do not do well.” “Skincare is not just about the products and procedures… It's taking care of all parts of you living inside the skin of yours.” “Skin health and mental health are not separate. The brain and the skin are intimately connected.” “Success is paying attention to the relationship I have with myself and honoring that.” “If you're feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or maxed out, start with the one thing that can help you move that needle. It doesn't always have to be visible. Sometimes, it's about how you feel inside.” “A great leader is curious, doesn't assume they know all the answers, and is open and receptive to the collective ideas and thoughts being shared.” “To be a coach only requires that we be one step ahead of the people that we're coaching. You can't coach where you've never been.” “We can't change what's happened in the past, but we can decide how we'd want to be in our relationship with our present so that we can move into our future with a greater sense of ease.” The three critical secrets for healing the body: Curiosity: Understanding what you need to change and how to take the next best step. Compassion: Recognizing your needs without self-criticism and addressing them. Connection: The importance of social support and connection in overall well-being. And you're not broken. You just maybe have been misinformed. Maybe no one told you. And there's an opportunity to learn.” “Health is really about the integration of mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.” “What you see on your skin is an invitation from your body to get really curious about what's happening in your life, in your relationships, with the environment that you're in, and the products that you're using.” “Our body has its own language. A coach helps you figure out what you need to do, but asks a lot of questions. It's more discovery for the client, versus being a consultant." "If you're great at something, help somebody else with it. And you don't have to be the best in the world at it, you just got to be a little bit better than the people you're helping." "If you're really great at what you do, you can become a coach at that thing for people who have less experience than you, who aren't quite as good at it. So not only are you doing the thing, you're still a practitioner. But you're also helping other people at the same time. So you're coaching them at the same time." "Everyone has something that they're good at. And there are so many people out there that would pay you to help them get better at it. That's something we don't realize." "Whatever happens in your relationships at home, you take with you to work." "Success to me is freedom. Freedom of time, freedom of being able to do what I want to do at whatever time. I don't want to be tied down." "Great leaders are empathetic. Great leaders lead by example. And great leaders listen to their team and the people around them." "If you're on time, you're late. And as someone that wants to be better at public speaking, you have to arrive early because that's gonna help you control your nerves and be more present and do better at everything."
