Dr. Wilson-Doenges, is a current UWGB psychology professor with expertise in environmental psychology and previous host of this podcast. The conversation dives into the psychology of awe, sacred spaces, and spiritual experiences which can shape how we connect. This episode also explores different activities that can be brought into the classroom to explore eco-spirituality. Heidi Leiterman, Program Specialist with the Lifelong Learning Institute at UWGB, joins the guys to discuss some upcoming classes available to everyone. Specifically, they have a course on the history of the NFL Draft. Did you know that there was another draft in Wisconsin? It was held in Milwaukee for the 1940 draft. Then, we're joined by Allison Hockers and Beckett K. to talk about the Pi Day 5K. The run/walk will take place in downtown Green Bay and is open to the public. In the past ten years, the PI Day 5K has donated over $185,000 dollars to local charities. This successful event is driven by a leadership team of 5th graders from our school. This year the money raised will help send local veterans on the Old Glory Honor Flight. It's possible they will have 600 runners, which will be a new record for the run! The guys are on a mission to learn and play pickleball, and Mark admits that there is an uptick in injuries for older athletes in that sport. Other injuries this time of year include slips and falls. Mark says you can slip and hit the ground in a matter of seconds. Watching your step and even wearing spikes on your shoes can help create a safer environment. Also, Maino is suffering from gout, and is only wearing one shoe. Enjoy that thought today! Then CBS 58 Sports Director Lance Allen joins to talk about his relationship with the late Bob Uecker. Lance kinda got his start here in Green Bay at TV 5 but moved to Milwaukee many years ago. He says that meeting and working with Uecker was a high point in his career.
