Welcome to episode 211 of the Löw Tide Böyz - A Swimrun Podcast! In this episode, we head across the pond to Wales for a proper chin wag with We Swimrun Founder, Mike Alexander. We met Mike in Sweden last year and hit it off right away while engaged in an exchange of laurels (We swim caps for LTBz buffs). We knew that we wanted to get him on the show and although it took us almost 4 months to make it happen…make it happen we did! This was a great chat and we can't wait to share it with all of you.But first…Training UpdateWe're at the “building consistency” stage of training and trying to be better at incorporating strength work earlier in the year.ShoutoutThis week we're shouting out our newest Patron on Patreon: Tim S. As far as we can tell he's our first supporter from Denmark and we're here for it! Thank you so much for the support Tim!Feats of EnduranceThis week's award goes to the California Swimrun folks of Andy, Phil, and crew. (LTBz Public Service Announcement: Just want to remind everyone that there are many hero journeys in the sport of Swimrun and qualifying and racing the World Championship is just one of many. We highly encourage everyone to continue to support local, grass-roots events to help grow the base of the sport.)Second, ÖTILLÖ announced a new event in North America: ÖTILLÖ Whistler. We'll it's back and we're here for it! ÖTILLÖ Whistler will take place on Sunday, June 7th and will offer Experience, Sprint and World Series Distance options. Finally, registration is open for all 2024 ÖTILLÖ USA events. Mike Alexander started his agency in a crisis. The ‘Great Texas Mold Crisis' was sending agencies all over the state into a death spiral. He just purchased a small book with 400 clients. One of his early - and critical - insights was that it wasn't going to be enough to do a good job at insurance. He'd have to do a good job at marketing. Fast forward to today. 4000 customers. 20% annual growth. Listen as Mike unravels the secrets to his insurance marketing success, including: How Mike fixed his agency's ‘leaky bucket' and created a seamless system to re-capture ‘lost souls', convert unconverted leads and maximize Customer Lifetime Value. The simple pivot Mike made from ‘Main Street Agency' to niche marketer (with an greatly expanded territory) His transition from ‘selling insurance' (and always offering to ‘save, save, save!) to marketing to the deeper ‘what-keeps-'em-up-at-night' pain. The critical way Mike learned marketing (and the network of peers that holds him accountable for performance). Serious growth-minded insura-preneurs will want to make this conversation their highest priority of the week.

No tenemos palabras.

A year before California's next statewide general election, signature-gathering has already begun for what is likely to be another crowded ballot of high-profile initiatives. There will be some contentious issues on the November 2022 ballot, if the petition drives just getting underway succeed One of those initiatives just cleared to begin collecting the roughly one million valid signatures it will take to qualify for next year's ballot, is an educational savings account measure that the state attorney general has titled the Educational Freedom Act Initiative. It is a landmark measure championed by proponents of school choice, and it would give each student in California $14,000 to go to the school of their choice, ranging from public, private or parochial. For more on how this would work and the campaign ahead, KCBS Radio news anchors Patti Reising and Jeff Bell, as well as KCBS Radio political reporter and host of this segment, Doug Sovern, spoke with Mike Alexander, the Chair of Californians for School Choice to discuss how this new program would work. On my recent quest to find some great punk bands in KC, I was pointed towards Hipshot Killer many times by anyone I asked who they knew of. I had their record, All This Time Is Ours on repeat for a few days and quickly understood why they were everyone's first recommendation. I asked them to play my band's Halloween show with us and they put on a phenomenal show, so naturally I was super excited to have them on the podcast to hear more about their band. On this episode, Mike talks about how Hipshot Killer came to be and we share in our frustrations of putting up with the 'business side' of running a band. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thelocalfraud/support
