Send us a textAbout This EpisodeShawn Nelson, founder and CEO of the Lovesac Company, defines boldness as a state of mind that is as constant as we push ourselves to make it. He maintains his bold edge by deliberately seeking situations that challenge him. When faced with seemingly impossible vertical climbs, in dirt biking and in real life, he applies his philosophy: "If it has been done, it can be done. And why not me?" This same mindset helped him transform a simple beanbag chair into a publicly-traded company now worth billions. What makes Shawn's journey particularly valuable is his transparency about struggle. He openly shares Lovesac's bankruptcy experience, which he calls his "MBA in a box," and shares so many of the other lessons he has learned in his latest book, Let Me Save You 25 Years. Shawn also challenges listeners to be bold enough to be honest about what truly motivates them, rather than pursuing status symbols or others' definitions of success. Tune in for an inspiring episode that will encourage you to make you own bold path forward.  About Shawn NelsonShawn D. Chris/Baz Europe appears to be the modern leader in construction of passenger ships, but are their any Australian ship builders of significance?Unknown, Chris Baz have you ever visited the Barcelona Maritime Museum. I recently visited and highly recommend a visit. Just a short walk from the port area, it was the former Royal Dockyards of Barcelona, and houses some great content from the 15th Century to present day including a replica Royal Galleon, over 60m in length and powered by 59 oars and the power of 236 rowers and the fully operation Schooner Santa Eulalia.Cruise newsPONANT – 35 Years of Exploration Guided by NaturePonant is celebrating its 35th anniversary by paying tribute to those who have been at the heart of its development and growth since 1988 with a new media campaign highlighting their expertise and commitment. The people of PONANT all share the same ambition to make travel a unique experience of discovery, understanding and meaning, with nature as a guide.Exactly two years ago, Captain Etienne Garcia reached the North Pole aboard the first LNG-powered hybrid electric polar exploration vessel. Maria, a naturalist, shared her passion for tropical marine life in Las Islas de la Bahía archipelago in Honduras. Sandrine, a naturalist, and expedition leader accompanied passengers across to Macquarie Island to educate them on penguin species, and Mick returned to Indonesia, to connect with local communities in his mission to craft sustainable and inclusive expedition itineraries. All embody the philosophy that has guided PONANT on its own journey for the last 35 years.35 years of environmental awarenessReducing emissions remains a major challenge for the coming years, which is why PONANT targets to equip its entire fleet with shore power by 2026.This corporate journey could not be achieved without the commitment of guests, partners, and the daily work of its employees, all committed towards more sustainable tourism.https://youtu.be/kH6sTNEoFhsSilversea Unveils 140-Day World Cruise for 2026, Its Most Diverse Voyage EverSilversea Cruises has unveiled details on its 140-day World Cruise 2026, ‘The Curious and the Sea'—the most diverse and immersive voyage in the cruise line's history, which broadens the largest collection of extended sailings in ultra-luxury cruising. Guests will embark Silver Dawn® in Fort Lauderdale on January 6, 2026, before travelling deep into 70 destinations in 37 countries—the most ever on a Silversea World Cruise—including 26 calls that are new for a Silversea World Cruise or unvisited since 2020, and 9 overnights. An exclusive pre-sale opens to Venetian Society members on June 14, while general sales open on June 22.‘The Curious and the Sea' will connect travellers with the rich history of navigation, inspired by the same curiosity that led ancient seafarers to sail to unknown lands. Channeling the same spirit of discovery that has driven exploration throughout the ages, bespoke events ashore, onboard activities, regionally inspired culinary experiences, three optional overland tours (Uzbekistan, Luxor, and the Balkans), and more will enrich the voyage. Guests will follow ancient trade routes, sailing the waters that connected the Silk Road, and transiting both the Panama and Suez canals; they will step foot on some of the world's most remote islands, including those in the South Pacific, a region explored by Captain James Cook in the 18th century; and they will witness lands that inspired scientific progression, such as Western Australia, which attracted Charles Darwin in 1836.70 DESTINATIONS, 37 COUNTRIES, 26 NEW DESTINATIONS, 140 DAYSFollowing a curated travel experience—including private executive transfers, Business class air, and a dedicated meet and greet service—world cruising guests will board Silver Dawn in Fort Lauderdale on January 6, 2026, journeying through Central America, before transiting the Panama Canal to South America. Easter Island, French Polynesia, and the South Pacific will follow, leading guests to New Zealand and a semi-circumnavigation of Australia. Travellers will then explore Southeast Asia, crossing the Bay of Bengal to Sri Lanka, India, and the Red Sea, before passing through the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean. They will delve into European history and culture, before the voyage concludes in Lisbon, Portugal, on May 27, 2026. Guests will admire some of the world's clearest night skies, retracing the steps of early explorers who looked to the stars for navigation, as well as the country's most spectacular landscapes and wildlife species—some of which inspired Charles Darwin's ‘Theory of Evolution.' Highlights will include the rarely visited Phillip Island for the chance to see the penguin parade, during which thousands of Little Penguins dash from the sea to the dunes; Port Lincoln, for the Coffin Bay National Park and the Eyre Peninsula; and Esperance, visited for the first time on a Silversea World Cruise, with its pink salt lakes. Other calls will include Melbourne and Adelaide, as well as Exmouth for the Ningaloo Reef and the chance to swim with whale sharks, and the Kimberley Coast.ALL-NEW CULTURAL EXPERIENCES IN NORTHERN AFRICAAn emphatic finale to ‘The Curious and the Sea,' Silver Dawn will unlock the cultures of Northern Africa for the first time on a Silversea World Cruise. One of the most eagerly anticipated calls on the voyage, La Goulette in Tunisia will provide insight into the bygone eras of the Ancient Carthaginians and the Roman Empire, with its UNESCO-listed medina, the Bardo Museum, and its fascinating cultural offering. A gateway to Tunisia, La Goulette is an historic port that has long been key for international trade, connecting Africa with Europe.BESPOKE & EXCLUSIVE: WORLD CRUISE EVENTSWorld cruising guests will unite at an exclusive Bon Voyage reception in Fort Lauderdale on the evening of January 5, before spending a pre-cruise night in a luxury hotel and embarking Silver Dawn at leisure on January 6. In celebration of burgers beloved worldwide, the cruise line is revealing which of its menu items guests order most.Guy's Burger Joint, a Carnival mainstay created by longtime partner, celebrity chef and restaurateur Guy Fieri, will serve an estimated 10.5 million burgers this year. Here's how the popular options stack up:5.) Pig Patty: 577,000 orders – This burger has many traditional toppings, including lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle, but it also features Super Melty Cheese and a patty made out of crispy bacon.4.) Chilius Maximus: 640,000 orders – A tasty beef burger patty is made even tastier by topping it with a heaping helping of delicious chili.3.) The Ringer: 2.3 million orders – The Ringer is topped with Super Melty Cheese plus Guy's Bourbon and Brown Sugar BBQ sauce, and a crispy and spicy onion ring.2.) Straight Up: 3.2 million orders – This burger is a classic and the choice of about 30 percent of the orders at Guy's Burger Joint. It's topped off with Super Melty Cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and a liberal slathering of Donkey Sauce.1.)  Plain Jane: 3.7 million orders – It's clear, most guests want to choose how to top off their burgers themselves. This 80/20 ground chuck is seasoned, smashed on the grill, and served up to be finished however guests like it at the toppings station, which is featured at every Guy's Burger Joint fleetwide. The Plain Jane makes up more than a third of all burger orders.Guy's Burger Joint launched in 2011 and is featured on all of Carnival's 25 ships serving up the best burgers at sea. Select Carnival ships also feature Guy's Pig & Anchor offering smoked-on-board barbecue favourites and sides, as well as Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse serving craft beer brewed on board. This is going to be a different kind of an episode, because it's the seven-year anniversary of Tilt Parenting (!) and it felt like a good time to do some reflection on where we – you, me, this community – are now. And I wanted to reflect because I think it's important to pause, take a breath, and notice this moment. So, in this episode, I'll share reflections on what has changed in the “Tilt revolution” and the neurodiversity movement in the years since Tilt Parenting first launched, including the language used in this space. I also get a little personal and give you some updates from my world, our family's journey, and what's next. Lastly, I always want to offer something practical and tangible that you can take with you into your daily life, so I'll tell you about the five biggest lessons I've been learning over the past few years and explain how they've impacted our family dynamic, and my own life as the parent of a differently wired kid.Things you'll learn from this episode:How the conversation, and terminology, surrounding neurodivergence and the “movement” has evolved over the past seven yearsHow I envisioned Tilt when I first developed itWhy I believe there is no such thing as “normal”What I see as the most exciting developments in neuroscience developments and how they'll impact differently wired childrenHow my personal life has changed since I started Tilt and the challenges I've encountered in doing the inner workThe five biggest lessons I've been learning over (and over) again in recent yearsSupport the showConnect with Tilt Parenting Visit Tilt Parenting Take the free 7-Day Challenge Read a chapter of Differently Wired Follow Tilt on Twitter & Instagram

Easy, huh? The trouble is that people are not properly taught how to spend their money. Many do not know the difference between an asset, something which puts money in your pocket, and a liability, something which takes money out of your pocket. Kiyosaki's main point is that the only way to become financially independent is to accumulate income generating assets which can pay for your expenses. However, many people rather buy a new car or an iPad (liabilities) instead of investing that money in stocks or real estate (assets). I recently posted an infographic which shows the difference in returns if you would have bought Apple stocks instead of one of their products. The fear of straying from the generally accepted life path plays a big role in the financial decision making process. However, if you do not want money to control you like it does most people, then you will have to do things differently from the crowd. I found this to be particularly interesting given that it was written in 1927, right in the midst of the first big American stock market boom. Of course, 1929 proved the author right. The more you multiply your money, the more you can go live your dreamsMake of thy dwelling a profitable investmentThe USA will allow you to write off a home, dollar for dollar tax write off up to $8 millionInsure a future incomeReal estate can be insuredInsure everything you have Increase thy ability to earnThe Goddess of Good Luck Lesson: Good luck favors the man or woman of actionA person of action is favored by the Goddess of Good LuckProcrastination upon decision-making only leads to regrets. Make decisions with all the good information that you have – either for or against an action – and carry out the decision. Indecisiveness does not bring good fortune. The more successful people you have around you, the better your garden isYou want to be a person who can nearby activate luck all the timeLucky people are always people who took actionThe more you're in the zone, the more Universe activates in that zoneGood luck hangs around actionImagine how good your life would be if you just activated good luckProcrastinators rarely get good luckThere's only 2 roads in life: the road to prosperity and the road to povertyThese 2 roads never cross and never go in the same directionThe moment you decide to change instantly, you're on the road to prosperityThe road to riches has nothing to do with the road to povertyClosing ThoughtsYou're going to be able to do great things poor or wealthyYou will get it one day; you're going to make itUnfortunately, you may take a longer road for you to get itThere are no mistakes If it takes you longer to get it, it's perfectIn the valley is where you truly become GodIn this present is only the deeds of your pastSometimes, you just have to walk out the nasty harvestRelease people from how you think they should respect youRelease people from the responsibility of doing right by youRelease yourself from what you've doneYou aren't making any money being mad that you don't have anyWhen you walk out that harvest, it'll come so fast you'll wonder where it was all those lean yearsSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-secret-to-success/exclusive-contentAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Investing legend John Templeton seems to agree on this point.2021 Poverty Guidelineshttps://aspe.hhs.gov/topics/poverty-economic-mobility/poverty-guidelines/prior-hhs-poverty-guidelines-federal-register-references/2021-poverty-guidelines If you own a business and have a job, that's a family memberMost people are in poverty despite how the government has classified themThe 10X Rule will be the next book covered in the Personal Finance classDon't spend your moneyAccount for where you are and where your money is nowAll your money needs to funneled into real estate or something that acts like real estateBe where the government is protecting (stocks, real estate)Bettermenthttps://www.betterment.com/ Invest in betterment for 10 yearsSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-secret-to-success/exclusive-contentAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Personal Finances pt 47 Cures for a Lean PurseIncrease your ability to earnBob Proctor — What is The Law of Compensationhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sdKmM3s788&t=2s The amount of money you earn is going to be in exact ratio for:The need for what you doYour ability to doThe difficulty in replacing youInsignificant wheels don't get the greaseYou cannot live a life in which you approach your life as an opportunity to increase your ability to earnIf you don't increase in value every area of your life, you're going to lose those thingsCompensation is anything you are in that has your attentionIf you have money problems, you have serious character problemsYou do not become the richest person in the world by thinking about saving moneyIn times of cutback, don't save; go make moreThe people who win during cutback seasons are the people who plant seedsCutting back is a vibration; it's an admission of “I don't have”Everyone wants to be on the mountain top; the problem is that gardens don't grow on the mountain topYou can only eat from the valleyThere's always somebody not being superstitiousBeing on the mountain top means you won already, but you can't keep “won already” to keep winningYou've got to go back to the valley and plant more seeds so you can eat on the mountain top longerEvery blessing you've gotten has come from the valleyStop hating those down periods in your lifePraise before your harvestIf you keep waiting to see what you're praising for, you're going to continue to wait to see what you're praising for Start thy purse to fatteningTake one-tenth of what you bring in and save it for the future. The book uses a coin analogy: for every nine coins you spend, take one and put it away for yourself. This is very sensible; a goal all of us should have.Pay yourself firstControl thy expendituresControl your expensesYou don't need everythingDon't buy frivolous things even if you have enough money to pay for them. Instead, make sure that you can continue to save one-tenth of what you bring in. For this reason, I write about frugality on The Simple Dollar.Make thy gold multiplyOnce you start to build up some savings, invest that money so that it will make more money for you.Another pretty clear point; if you start saving money, it shouldn't just sit in a mattress. Even a high-yield savings account is much better than that, and it can double your principal in about fifteen years. If you do not multiply your money, you're dead in the waterYou can have a lot of time and no money, a lot of money and no time, or a lot of time and a lot of moneyGuard thy treasures from lossNever lose moneyTo never lose money, you need a mentorThis one is interesting: you should only invest in things where the principal is safe. In other words, the book seems to discourage stock investing.

Don't forget to leave us a review! Today, we are talking about maybe the most common and comfortable curriculum area: literacy centers. While this seems very straightforward, we wanted to break it down more so we can better focus our energies and not go into the ‘push-down curriculum' zone.We had SO much to cover that we had to split this episode into two parts! In part one, we go over the NAEYC's position statement and then we tackle the continuum of reading and writing development.  Spencer shouts out the Planet Word Museum in DC ( https://planetwordmuseum.org/ ) and we play a super nerdy but super cool game where we try to guess the definition of some of the top rarest words!
