En esta ocasión Final Round trae dos invitadazos ya conocidos (Squall y Yukito) jeje, Punx nos trae una vez mas una recomendación de anime y Squall trae a la luz un juego que te puede traer unas cuantas horas de entretenimiento
In 2021, I said that Yukito Ayatsuji achieved a rare feat, with his first entry in the mansion murder series. As I described, he bested one of the most influential mysteries of all time in his own pastiche of it. Arguably, with the sequel, Ayatsuji did it again, although, I think the accomplishment is a little more manageable this time, as he lands in 11th place on Review Season. The Mill House Murders takes the core puzzle of the masked man mystery, brings the ghostly hand of his architect arch-nemesis Seiji Nakamura, and sets the mill wheel turning.
Seguimos con la onda de los snacks. Nos vuelve a acompañar Yukito y se lucio con sus selecciones musicales. Punx y Takis obvio tambien trajeron rolotas! Denle play para pasar 40 minutos de musiquita bonita!
We're joined by Brad Friedman of 'Ah Sweet Mystery' to discuss chapters 12-14 of Yukito Ayatsuji's second outing in his Mansion Murder series. Two more murders have taken place, and Shimada has to accept his role as detective before more blood is spilled. Brad and Herds unite to burn Felix at the stake for his ridiculous gambit to solve the unsolvable. How does this novel stack up against the iconic 'Decagon House' that preceded it, and where can the series go from here? We also have a conversation between 2SER's own Irene Diakanastasis and Mercedes Mercier about her second Laura Fleming novel 'Black Lies'. Fleming is tasked with convincing confessed murderer, Tomas Kovac, to disclose the location of his victim's body before the secret dies with him, following a terminal cancer diagnosis. Thank you to Harper Collins for providing copies of 'Black Lies' to 2SER.
We're joined by Brad Friedman of 'Ah Sweet Mystery' to discuss chapters 6-11 of Yukito Ayatsuji's second outing in his Mansion Murder series. Brad and Herds are convinced they know what the trick is, and how the trick works, but can they figure out why it happened, and to whom? A simple mystery may not be as simple as it seems, as the doom befalling the Mill House draws out further accounts of the past, and the cruel motives of the less murderous crimes. We also speak with Robert Gott about his latest political satire, 'Naked Ambition'. The minister for transport has decided to enter his portrait into the Archibald Prize, but people might get snagged by the large member at eye-height. Thank you to Scribe Publishing for providing copies of the book.
We're joined by Brad Friedman of 'Ah Sweet Mystery' to discuss chapters 1-5 of Yukito Ayatsuji's second outing in his Mansion Murder series. Entering into a relentless writing pace that saw two books published in 1988, Ayatsuji welcomes us into the struggle between Shimada Kyoshi and the enigmatic, deceased Seiji Nakamura. Every year, the son of a famous artist begrudgingly invites guests to view his father's collection. One year ago, two people died and one disappeared during the visit, and yet the troupe of remaining guests returns, as fate summons a second doom. We also speak with Dennis Altman about his debut Crime Fiction novel, 'Death in the Sauna'. Thank you to Benson PR and Shute the Messenger for providing copies on behalf of Clouds of Magellan Press.

After watching the late professional Onotora "The Beast" Itsuki play on the field, Sakura has been inspired to take up the game. However, as the sole member of his middle school's rugby team, he is unable to practice nor experience the sport with other players. Yet when he encounters Onotora's son Yukito, Sakura seizes the chance to overcome his predicament. Though initially dismissive of Sakura's ability, a quick sparring match manages to impress Yukito. In return, Yukito reveals that he will be attending Hyakkengawa, enticing Sakura to follow suit in hopes of joining the same team. But, when Sakura enrolls into the high school, Yukito is nowhere to be found. Nevertheless, Sakura believes that Yukito led him to the school for a reason. At Hyakkengawa, the rugby team has been mentored by the one and only Onotora, and, in Sakura, they have met the newest member of their family.

Takumi revive los años de gloria con Nocturne y Yukito se sumerge en las mieles de juegos modernos con el 5to episodio de la saga.
Yukito Ayatsuji's 'The Decagon House Murders' takes out second place for our recommendations, this Review Season. The novel achieves the rare feat of taking one of the most highly regarded mysteries of all time, spoofing it, and somehow, besting it. It's incredibly clever, astonishingly memorable, and as the current wave of shin-honkaku translations hopefully continues, you will love seeing the work this did in inspiring a generation of writers. We do not have the time to name the dense list of people, who upon hearing we occasionally feature Japanese novels ask ‘have you read the Decagon House Murders?'.
This week we're discussing Cardcaptor Sakura! A magical-girl anime produced by studio Madhouse and airing from 1998-2000. Vou ser legal e resumir para vocês: um broche assassino tenta matar a Sakura e não apenas falha, como é derrotado pelo amor infantil pelo professor.

We discuss chapters 10-12, the sixth through eighth days of Yukito Ayatsuji's 'The Decagon House Murders'. When the Police see the island of Tsunojima light yet again, they set about trying to unravel the Decagon House Murders, recovering the six bodies of the K University Mystery Club, and the missing corpse from the earlier Blue Mansion Murders. Will they ever find out there's one too few bodies on the island, or will the maligned Seiji be pinned with both incidents? The unfathomable ending to this iconic mystery looms! We're also joined by David Arrowsmith, the author of 'Nevada Noir', a short story collection set in the Silver State, to talk about the driving themes of the novel and the challenges of releasing independent work online. US || UK
We discuss chapters 7-9, the fourth and fifth days of Yukito Ayatsuji's 'The Decagon House Murders'. With the number of survivors on the island continuing to thin, so too does the list of culprits. A suspicious set of footprints found alongside a body on the island affirms Ellery's theory that Seiji is alive and out for vengeance, whilst on the mainland, Kojiro tells Conan quite the opposite. The true face of Ayatsuji's mansion murders bears its head as the debut sprints towards its climax. We also chat with Emma Stonex, author of 'The Lamplighters' about why islands are the perfect place for a locked room mystery and the incident that inspired it.
Ah y Yukito llega a medio podcast! Grabacion llena de buena vibra!
We discuss chapters 1-6, the first three days, of Yukito Ayatsuji's The Decagon House Murders. A team of students from the K University Mystery Club take a week away to Tsunojima to work on the next issue of their club magazine. Tsunojima, a few months before, was the site of a gruesome series of murders that the police have called a murder-suicide, and soon after arriving on the island, the group finds a series of plates that foretell their doom. Is the same murderer out for more blood, or is one of their own continuing the island's curse? We also speak to Dr. Satomi Saito, professor of Japanese from Clemson University about his dissertation on Japanese Detective Fiction, the history of the 'Shin Honkaku' school and his role in getting Ayatsuji's work published in the west.

In this week’s episode I chat to Julia Busuttil Nishimura @juliaostro about her journey into motherhood and the obstacles she faced in her first year with both her boys, Haruki and Yukito. She chose midwifery care for her pregnancies and ventured into each labour feeling prepared and supported. Her births were challenging albeit positive experiences yet her postpartum experience with breastfeeding and anxiety has been difficult. Julia shares her breast and bottle feeding experience and discusses the importance of psychological support for new mums, particularly in the first year when overwhelm and loneliness can outweigh the beauty and joy. Breaking down the stigmas attached to mental health and postpartum is essential and it starts right here, in the sharing of honest and heartfelt stories.

Sloane and Leslie talk about one of their favorite manga, Yukito Kishiro's Battle Angel Alita/GUNNM. This episode features spoilers for Battle Angel Alita and Battle Angel Alita: Last Order, but we also get very in-depth as to why it's such an important title for both of us, and how science fiction can tap into feelings about what it means to have consciousness. Talking points: localization of manga in the '90s, cyborg autonomy, robots with feelings. The first deluxe edition volume of Battle Angel Alita is out through Kodansha Comics.
Time Codes: 00:00:29 - Introduction 00:02:35 - Some context, and thanks! 00:05:19 - Battle Angel Alita: Deluxe Edition, Vol. 1 00:50:09 - Children of the Whales, Vol. 1 01:26:06 - Wrap up 01:27:21 - Contact us On this episode of The Comics Alternative's manga series, Shea and Derek discuss two recent publications that, in one way or another, explore a post-apocalyptic world. They begin with a classic, the first volume of Yukito Kishiro's Battle Angel Alita. Kodansha Comics has recently started to release this legendary cyberpunk series in nice deluxe hardbound editions -- the second deluxe volume is due for release in late February -- and the guys are excited that the title is back in print. Neither Shea nor Derek was familiar with Battle Angel Alita before, outside of hearing about the upcoming James Cameron/Robert Rodriguez film adaptation due out in 2018, but now both are hooked. In their overview, the guys highlight the kinetic quality of the illustrations, the ways in which Kishiro contextualizes even his most nasty characters, the complexities (and embedded mysteries) of his storyworld, and the ways in which he visualizes the title character...which, for Shea at least, is a little problematic. Next, they look at Abi Umeda's Children of the Whales, Vol. 1 (VIZ Media). This is another post-apocalyptic narrative -- at least the guys think things are set in a post-apocalyptic world -- and the storyworld that Umeda maps out is quite complex. In fact, as Derek suggests, there are so many nuances in this first volume that the story runs the risk of toppling over due to sheer ambiguity. However, the author is able to maintain a comprehendible balance in her tale, although several passages may require more than one reading. There are a lot of questions posed in this book, and while Derek is willing to continue on in future volumes to get the fuller picture, Shea isn't as enamored of the story. While he admires Umeda's art, he feels that the story's premise, especially as it relates to the Committee of Elders, may be a bit too predictable. Still, Derek feel that the volume is worth checking out.
On this episode, Dennis, Ed, and Kate are joined by Caitlin, and new special guest Sanjay, and eventually his wife Rishon! We only had time to ask Sanjay some questions, but we promise to get Rishon next time she's on. Too busy working towards Anime Expo. Our main topic of discussion: the first Cardcaptor Sakura movie. Kate and Dennis are pretty out of their element when it comes to Cardcaptor Sakura knowledge, so it's great to have some people on to carry the load. We also talk at length about Pioneer's dub differences and directing choices compared to the Japanese version, along with silly things like Asian parental pressure, Yukito's fashion sense, Tomoya: creepy/not creepy, ghosting a ghost, and more. In this companion episode, the GPP take a victory lap to talk about some choice sci-fi, apocalyptic, racing fiction. It's not often everyone can pair a story that fits the theme of the movie pick, and it’s even more rare that they're all prime grind pulp picks. Jeronimo starts off with Along the Scenic Route, a story about a family man squaring off against a punk kid driver, both decked out with weapon-mounted battle wagons. Air TV Volume 2 Anime DVD Review. Released 9/25/07 by ADV Films, 100 Minutes, List Price: $29.98. Yukito's quest for the winged girl beyond the clouds takes second priority as the girls around him face large problems that could threaten their lives. Misuzu is getting weaker and weaker as her dreams increase in frequency and intensity. He gets angry with Misuzu's mother for being insensitive about her daughter's plight. But then he remembers that his mother told him about a girl that suffered like Misuzu before she passed away. She had the same kind of dreams and a bizarre and frightening condition. The closer the girl becomes to people, the sicker she became. Eventually, she died. Ironically, Yukito comes to believe that his proximity and emotional ties to Misuzu are the very things that are endangering her life! Meanwhile, there's something weird going on between the quiet and introverted Minagi and her best and only friend, the crazy Yukito-bashing Michuru. When Yukito walks Minagi home, he is shocked when Minagi's mom calls her by the name of Michuru which leads to the revelation of a mental illness of Minagi's mom and and an explanation of why Minagi is so withdrawn. Then we go back in time about a thousand years to learn about this famous winged girl named Kanna that everybody's been talking about for the past seven episodes. Kanna is pretty much incarcerated by priests and carted around the country to bless various things because she is seen as a messenger to the gods, even though she can barely fly. Instead of being a divine messenger, she is really just a young girl who is feeling increasingly entrapped in a role she does not feel she is suited for. Two of those near to her, her guard, Ryuya, and her servant, Uraha, plan a daring escape to free her from the shackles of religion and superstition. I must admit that I had a bit of reservation about this second volume because it seemed at first to be more of the same as Volume 1 without any plot progress. But as I got drawn more and more into the strange tale of Minagi and Michiru, I was intrigued by the subtle layering of the story which at times seems strange and at times creepy. The last episode, which began to tell of the events a millenium ago was like a breath of fresh air into a show that was beginning to drag a bit. Hopefully, we'll get some answers in the past that will explain what is happening in the present. Even though I'd like the mysterious atmosphere and strange occurrences to stay in place a little longer. While this show can be a tad too sentimental at times, it has a very quiet beauty and an ethereal feel that can draw you to another time and space that you might not want to come back from. My Grade: B
Air TV Volume 1: ADV Films, $29.98, Episodes 1-4, 100 Minutes, Ages 14+. Directed by Tatsuya Isihara. Animation by Kyoto Animation. A down on his luck puppeteer named Yukito comes to a strange little town searching for a winged girl that lives beyond the sky. Instead he meets a bevy of cute girls who all seem to harbor strange secrets. A strangely surreal dreamlike take on harem anime that soothes and perplexes instead of titillates. My Grade: B
