This is a podcast by Anil K Rajvanshi in which he has shown how Patanjali's sutras mirror the knowledge of modern science and technology. According to him Patanjali was a true scientist who gave the first knowledge about the control of thought and mind and about universal laws governing time and space. Unfortunately till now none of the commentaries on Yoga Sutras have explored them through the lens of science. He feels this podcast will help overcome that lacunae. It is really remarkable that in his Sutras Patanjali talks about Universe, space-time continuum, movement of planets among others and this was much before the time of Copernicus, Plato, Socrates, Newton and Einstein. Rajvanshi says that Sage Patanjali has been his teacher. Whatever little he has written in the last 20 years on spirituality or thought about the interaction of mind-matter and higher things have been inspired by Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and feels that his spirit has guided him in this journey. The article on which this podcast is based is at: https://nariphaltan.org/sutrascience.pdf

The COP conferences are really a sham and a show of hypocritical behavior which brings out the real face of the selfish and the control freaks of the world. In the recently concluded COP 27 the much touted creation of loss and damage fund was nothing but hot air. With no details about who will provide money for the fund and which country will get how much this remains only platitudes. The tycoons, heads of states and big industry leaders fly in their expensive personal jets and stay in total luxury in the resort places which are the venues of the conferences. There were reports that about 400 private jets landed in Egypt carrying the delegates! The amount of energy use and carbon dioxide production by these events is enormous and all the trappings of unsustainable lifestyle are on display by people who are talking and preaching about sustainable lifestyle!Dr. Anil Rajvanshi has given suggestions on how to make them productive and what should be done to help go on the path to sustainability.

All of us sometime or the other have experienced the Eureka moments or insights where suddenly the solution to a long-vexed problem emerges in a flash. Such eureka moments or sudden insights have been the basis of some of the greatest discoveries of this world. So curiosity arose how the brain produces such moments and insights and what is the neurobiological basis of it.The details with links are given in this article: https://nariphaltan.org/eureka.pdf
In this podcast Dr. Rajvanshi (https://nariphaltan.org/shortbio.pdf) talks about how spirituality gives us wisdom to use technology properly and also help us live sustainably. There is tremendous turmoil in the world.I believe it has to do with the tremendous insecurity that mankind faces. Increased population pressures, stress of daily life, increased expectations fueled by social media together with the need for instant gratification add to this insecurity. This, in turn, fuels the greed impulse and for some who have power and resources, this impulse is enhanced. One of the best ways to reduce greed and insecurity is by practicing spirituality. Greed is an outcome of the desire to possess. It is a part of the evolutionary process, and every human being wants to have resources for distressed times. In the absence of wisdom, this degenerates into hoarding impulse and greed. By practicing spirituality one can get the wisdom to understand that we should use things for our needs and not for our greed as Mahatma Gandhi once said.Read more at: https://nariphaltan.org/worldspirituality.pdf
Patanjali Yoga sutras, written almost 2500 years ago, are the earliest treatise on Yoga. In the book Sage Patanjali enunciates in a scientific manner how to control thought – a process which makes the mind powerful enough so that when it focuses on any subject its complete knowledge results. In this broadcast Dr. Rajvanshi shows the deep science of sutras and how they match what has been discovered now by science. It is really uncanny that Patanjali wrote about all these almost 2500 years ago.The URL of this talk is: https://nariphaltan.org/patanjaliscience.pdfAnd a YouTube lecture is at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ud9bL68TRbI

This is the interview of Dr. Anil K Rajvanshi on the new Engineering policy laid out by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). This policy states that for engineering college entrance it is not necessary for students to know Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. In late 1977 I was walking through a thick pine-grove in Gainesville, Florida, USA when suddenly a thought came out of blue that gravity and human thought may be related. I was not thinking about this relationship or anything connected to gravity at that time, and hence was taken aback by this thought and felt that it must be true since it came with such a force. The power of this thought was such that I spent next 3-4 months researching it and, in the process, neglected my Ph.D. research. I also felt that pine-grove acted as an antenna for getting such a thought. This event also propelled me to start investigating the area of mind-matter interaction and other aspects of spirituality. In fact, whatever little I have done within this realm in the last 40 years was triggered by this single thought. Though I understood intuitively the import of this thought at that time and even today, somehow the relationship between deep human thought and gravity has remained elusive. Recently it appeared that there may be a light at the end of the tunnel! And this podcast is my humble attempt to show how the human thought and gravity may be related. The article was published in Thrive Global. https://thriveglobal.com/stories/touched-by-light-a-conjecture-on-how-gravity-and-human-thought-maybe-related/
14th March is the birth anniversary of Albert Einstein. He has been one of my heroes and I have been inspired by his work and his life. So I thought of paying my small tribute to him. Millions of words and thousands of books have already been written about him so what I am stating in this essay may not be anything new but for few anecdotes from people whom I knew. I have always considered Einstein to be an extremely evolved human being and in my judgment, he occupies the same stature as Buddha, Christ and other great figures of history who have given mankind a new thought and have helped in its progress and evolution. Such people are few and far between but come to this planet earth to give a quantum jump to mankind’s thought. The article on it was published in Thrive Global. https://thriveglobal.com/stories/one-of-my-heroes-albert-einstein/ The URL is at: https://nariphaltan.org/einstein.pdf

On 30th January was the 73rd death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi – the apostle of peace and a person who engineered India’s independence from British rule in 1947. His decency, democratic nature, personal examples, and teachings are as relevant today in this divided and fractious world as they were almost hundred years ago. I am going to narrate anecdotes about him from people who met and worked with him. Anecdotes help describe a person in human terms. No matter how great the soul is, once it acquires a human body then it is guided by the frailties of human existence. We all identify entities with their forms. Either living or non-living entities are all identified by their physical forms. Our own body-form creates a memory map in our brain, and we identify ourselves and others with those memories. The idea of form has always intrigued me. If a simple physical and thermodynamical analysis is done on a system, then one faces a dilemma on how to put the energy of form in it. For example when a body (either a living or a non-living one) gets destroyed then its atoms and molecules all get distributed in space since matter cannot be produced or destroyed except in nuclear fission or fusion; or at very high temperatures when it becomes plasma! Similarly, the energy that goes in making its structure converts into heat and is also dissipated in space. But what happens to the energy of form? And also what happens to its space-time structure that it displaced for some time in that form? These are some issues which I think are fundamental to species survival and procreation. I feel that the fear of death is associated with the destruction of form. Hence all living entities protect their forms and procreate to provide its continuity. This podcast tries to explore these issues. The URL of this essay is at: https://nariphaltan.org/form.pdf

Throughout the history of human civilization there have been large number of instances where so called “miracles” have been performed. These have included levitation, production of material things from thin air, physical healing, etc. These events have come because of interaction of human thought and material surroundings. This podcast explores the possibilities on how human thought could interact with matter. Thus the nature of human thought, its characteristics and possibility of how it can interact with gravity and matter are explored. Novel concept of thought engine, existence of human thought in higher dimensions and its relationship with space, time and Universal Consciousness are discussed.
