A few months ago, we had the chance to play at an event in Brooklyn, part of a small “Oslated gathering.” The lineup included our own Aspetuck and Moon Patrol, along with Vice City making her NYC debut, and event organizers - Buusto, co-founder of Club Dub Radio, and Maharam, a resident of Club Dub and organizer of Final Passage events. The night brought together a close-knit crowd and a shared love for deep and dub techno. For us, one of the highlights was connecting with Justin (Buusto), Avi (Maharam), and Nathan (Apok), the minds behind the event they aptly named Drift. Buusto and Maharam brought their passion and skill to the decks, making the night something special. We're especially excited to feature Maharam's set as part of our “Delayed with…” series. Maharam opened the night, and it's not a secret that we're big believers in the art of a proper opening set. Maharam delivered one of the best we've heard in a long time. Despite its brevity at just 60 minutes, the set was a masterclass in pacing and mood. Creating a journey within such a limited timeframe takes real skill, and Maharam made every moment count. He explored the deeper end of the spectrum, guiding us through dubby textures, breakbeats, and bass-heavy grooves—perfectly setting the stage for what came next. If we had to choose, we couldn't imagine a better way to kick off the night. It's always inspiring to connect with emerging talent in our scene who gravitate toward the more refined side of electronic music. Maharam and Buusto are both names to watch, and we're sure this is just the beginning of what they'll bring to the table. Keep an ear out for more from them—we certainly will. https://soundcloud.com/maharam-sound https://www.instagram.com/___maharam/ https://www.instagram.com/finalpassage/ https://soundcloud.com/club_dub https://www.instagram.com/club__dub Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed info@delayed.nyc

The Untitled Beatles Podcast 60th anniversary celebration of A Hard Day's Night is in full swing, all thanks to Producer Casey's decision to have an open bar. It is a classic film after all and… oh great. Tony just shaved his head to resemble Gene Siskel and now T.J. is trying to squish into his childhood Q-bert costume. Cheeky! And while these pie-eyed faboons intercept every drink (and jam butty) intended for the Fabs, they ponder:

It started as an idea on a beach in Barbados, and now it's one of the ways that researchers around the world evaluate AI. On this week's episode, Amii Fellow and Canada CIFAR AI Chair Mike Bowling tells us the story behind the Atari benchmark and how video games from the 1980s can be used to test leading-edge AI. It's a story of how a simple scientific curiosity can turn into something with a big impact. There may be no greater feeling than watching your close friends (family at this point I would say) reach new artistic milestones. The creative path is both winding, and at times a muddled one that requires the utmost passion and energy to navigate it. Today I'm overjoyed to write about, to support Irina Kotik and Gilles Wasserman aka Moon Patrol as we near the release date of their seminal album, Mountain House Music on the ever incredible, Oslated imprint. Much like the name implies, the music within was spawned from many a morning and evening spent in homes shrouded in a natural embrace. Being comforted from the aggravations of normal life, through mother nature. These connections run strongly through everyone involved, and provide a joining element. Our focus for today lands on Aspetuck as he has left his touch on Wevok. Evoking images of hills shrouded in mist, the sun beating down to slowly reveal the land below, so too does the track develop from the murky, muted percussion beginnings into a crisp auditory adventure. With ethereal pads, flowing through the remainder like the last tendrils of the morning past. The remix, and rest of Mountain House Music, will be out on the 22nd of May on Oslated. write up by @huedj @gilleswasserman @irina-kotik @aspetuck @oslated www.instagram.com/gilleswasserman/ www.instagram.com/kotik-plus/ www.instagram.com/aspetuckmusic/ www.instagram.com/oslated/ www.itsdelayed.com www.instagram.com/_____delayed/ www.facebook.com/itsdelayed

What's more satisfying than seeing someone close grow as an artist? Little that we can think of, the musical story is different for us all, with many twists and turns, ups and downs, but turn, the pages must. Over the years we've seen one of our founders, Irina Kotik grow and grow, building on her musical identity and creating new avenues of musical expression. As one half of Moon Patrol through to her mixes released on HOC radio, MFIS, Crescent London, and Cellar Door to name a few, her impact is steadily growing. It's with so much pride that we're happy to premiere her first solo offering on Melifera Records, Mira. Like a structure being built block by block, Mira starts off simply with percussive elements and haunting pads, laying the foundation for a soaring crescendo as the track builds and builds. The melody echoed and solidified throughout, giving that all encompassing melancholic feel that we know and love. Mira, is part of a series of releases titled Women Everyday, a passionate celebration of women's talent, everyday. Volume 2 will be out on March 8th, with additional music from Elisa Batti, Slow Dimension, Vice City, and Kato De Vidts. write up by https://soundcloud.com/huedj https://soundcloud.com/irina-kotik https://www.instagram.com/kotikplus/ https://www.facebook.com/kotikplus https://soundcloud.com/melifera_records https://www.instagram.com/meliferarecords/ https://meliferarecords.com www.itsdelayed.com www.instagram.com/_itsdelayed_ www.facebook.com/itsdelayed
I created this episode 2 weeks ago, but I couldn't upload it. That's right, even with out internet I made the episode and I was trying to find a way to upload it and create art for it, and I just kept failing on those two fronts. So I tucked it away, ran the Holiday episode last week and now it's back to business... Mr. Business... dammit! I just thought of that! I should've given the art a Bob's Burgers theme! Oh well, too late, enjoy this schwifty episode, and that's the waaaay the news goes. 00:00 - Rudebeard - A Mucky Fumble on a Pishy Auld Mattress (A Tale of Lockdown Love Against the Odds, Parts 1, 2 and 3) (A Mucky Fumble with Rudebeard '22)03:29 - For The Record - Are You Still Watching "the Office (U.S.)"? Like a musical evolutionary tale unfolding before your eyes and ears, so too does Lost In Translation's debut release titled Anthroposcene morph and twist, with each artist's contribution drawing inspiration from, and manipulating elements of the prior. Or as the label puts, “The album was built track by track, providing a space for the featured artists to bounce off of each other's sonic influences, and weave together a cohesive musical story told from studios around the world. Leading off the release, the proverbial seeds if you will of the album, are Saphileaum's airy musings, like a morning mist upon a forest lake, the air alive with flashes of life. Each flash solidifying into an outline of the groove filled Moon Patrol offering, giving a steady rhythmic heartbeat with each hit of the kick. Building on and accentuating the accompanying pads and melody brings us to Alfred Czital's second scene of our first act, switching up things slightly by heading more into the breaks realm. As the curtain falls on Czital, we come to our premiere for today and the second act of Anthroposcene, provided by Human Space Machine. Rising melodies start the show, as driving percussion accompanies after a brief pause at the start. Layering and layering as more time goes on, the pads building to a sense of purpose, and tension without being overt. Anthroposcene in its entirety will be out on December 6th, with additional fantastic contributions by Owl, Orca Silent, and Martinou rounding out the stacked release. write up by https://soundcloud.com/huedj https://soundcloud.com/humanspacemachine https://soundcloud.com/lostinrec Human Space Machine on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/humanspacemachine_ Lost in Translation on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lostin_rec/ www.itsdelayed.com www.instagram.com/_itsdelayed_ www.facebook.com/itsdelayed

It wasn't the original plan, but Ben convinced the infamous Aunt Norah to co-host with him this week! One could say it was “in the stars” so to speak. In the Venn diagram of the universe stars are celestial bodies and our word is a celestial body, but our word is not a star. Ben and Norah delve in to all of the things they can think of that relate to the word moon: common sayings, urban legends, movies, music, comic books, NASA, and video games. 00:02:05 - Starting the moon conversation with some measurements 00:05:35 - Unbeknownst to her, Norah is actually thinking of Whoopie Pies not Moon Pies 00:08:13 - “We don't keep score here at the Two Vague Podcast,” and moon the verb 00:11:00 - Is “moon face” insulting and what is anchor spleen? 00:13:00 - The moon movies “A Trip to the Moon” and “Outland” 00:17:30 - Did Norah watch the moon landing on television? 00:19:50 - Watching the Wizard of Oz while listening to Dark Side of the Moon 00:22:54 - Alan Parson's complete load of eye wash, and the Eye in the Sky album 00:26:15 - Jamiroquai, Titan AE, and Everybody's Going to the Moon 00:30:30 - The word honeymoon, and this month's Strawberry Supermoon 00:36:50 - The Artemis program, and Space Force on Netflix 00:41:10 - Ben talks about the Disney + series Moon Knight, and Dissociative Identity Disorder 00:48:05 - The arcade game Moon Patrol was the first game to use parallax scrolling 00:50:25 - Facts about Ben's favorite “angel killing witch wearing a suit of her own hair” game 00:55:20 - Ben loves Grasshopper Manufacture and Suda51 games 00:59:46 - Killer is Dead, malice, soft boiled eggs, and the Bryan Execution Firm 01:04:10 - Final thoughts on the moon, and “if the moon were made of cheese?

Download the episode here!Welcome to Heroes Three! This week we take a look at Bruce Lee's influence on interactive media. Bruce Lee in video Games!Find us online - https://linktr.ee/Heroes3PodcastCheck out some H3 art and merch! - https://www.teepublic.com/user/kf_carlitoBruce Lee in Video Games, the Blogpost! Part 1 - The 80'sSince video games are such a visual medium we wanted to put together a visual companion to go along with this episode. Bruce Lee in video games goes pretty far back and even today we are seeing not only characters influenced by him but also official collaborations like in the 6 million+ player base battle royale game Naraka: Bladepoint.Let's take you through an overview of Bruce Lee in interactive media, starting in the early 1980's.1984 - Bruce Lee - Datasoft - Amstrad CPC, Apple II, Atari 8-bit, BBC Micro, C64, IBM PC, MSX, PC-88, ZX SpectrumIn this screen to screen platformer you control Bruce Lee as he explores a "wizard's tower, seeking to claim infinite wealth and the secret to immortality". Crude as it may be, I can see how someone who grew up with this game could hold some fondness for it. So many modern indie games share elements of exploration similar to this. Bruce Lee C64 Longplay by DerSchmu1984 - Yie Ar Kung-Fu - Konami - Arcade, MSX, Famicom/NES, ZX Spectrum, C64, Amstrad CPC, BBC Micro, Acorn ElectronOne, two, kung-fu! This proto-fighting game from Konami puts you in the role of Oolong, a kung-fu master, fighting his way through opponents to win the title of "Grand Master". In home ports of the game, the main character's name is Lee. The final enemy you face is named "Blues", possibly a mistranslation, deliberate or accidental, of Bruce.MSX box art for Yie Ar Kung-Fu IIThe Famicom artwork is also pretty fun!1984 - Kung-Fu Master - Irem(Arcade) Nintendo (Famicom/NES)An interesting case with some fun facts for martial arts cinema fans and video game fans alike. Kung-Fu Master was developed by Irem and designed by Takashi Nishiyama, creator of Moon Patrol, and later Street Fighter for Capcom, and Fatal Fury for SNK."Stop eating and use both hands." Thus, the Hadouken was born.Kung-Fu Master was conceptually based on Bruce Lee's Game of Death. Similar to the film, you would travel up levels of a tower, facing different enemies along the way. On release the game was based on one of our favorites here at Heroes Three, 1984's Wheels on Meals aka Spartan X in Japan, starring the trio, Jackie, Sammo, and Yuen Biao. You play as Thomas, making your way through a selection of enemies to save Sylvia at the top of the tower. Outside of the names there really isn't a resemblance to the food service Spanish mayhem in Wheels on Meals. The NES version was ported by Nintendo themselves and I feel that it's probably the more iconic of the many versions available. Koji Kondo, legendary composer of Super Mario and Zelda among others, handled the music for this version.1987 - China Warrior - Hudson - TurboGrafx-16/PC-EngineChina Warrior, known in Japan as The Kung Fu follows in the footsteps of Kung-Fu, but supersizes everything. The sprites are BIG, and the environments are more varied, but in the end I feel that it loses something compared to good ol' Thomas and his power walking. Some nice tunes tho, and you get a Jackie analogue and a Beggar So in the mix.1987/88 - Double Dragon - Technos JapanAlthough visually I'd say that Double Dragon is more along the lines of Fist of the North Star, it is spiritually directly inspired by Bruce Lee, and more specifically Enter the Dragon. The leads, Jimmy and Billy Lee, are named after Bruce. Not only that, members of the Black Warriors gang are also named after characters from the film. Roper, Williams, even Abobo is in reference to Bolo Yeung!Straight from the source, Double Dragon graphic designer Koji Ogata.Later on in the series some games would fall under the supervision of game planner and self professed Bruce Lee fan, Muneki Ebinuma. He injected an extra amount of Bruce Lee flavor into his games.1989 - Bruce Lee Lives - The Software Toolworks - MS-DOSThis unfortunately titled PC game puts you in the shoes of the man himself. Another single player fighting game, you are defending the Hong Kong Palace from Master Po and his thugs. This game apparently has a vicious AI that adjusts to your gameplay. When you die you get treated to a rather tasteless newspaper headline. This takes us to the end of the 80's, and we're a bit long here so I'll end this post on that high note, haha.Next blog post I will share some of my favorite fighting game tributes to Bruce Lee as we step into the 90's and beyond. Our podcast episode covers everything so if you'd like to be spoiled please enjoy it! Thank you for reading and see you again soon.

Throughout the last several years, our beloved Delayed platform has been growing. Each and every day, shining a spotlight upon fresh faces, storied veterans and everyone in between. Building relationships, introducing new ones, always striving to make a mark. Today, I'm overjoyed to help shine the spotlight upon the core of Delayed, the musical north star if you will, that is Gilles Wasserman and Irina Kotik aka Moon Patrol. Hearing and watching their journey deeper into production has been quite the ride. As time passed, each new snippet and track seemed more refined, more complex, more, dare I say, them? To see your friends hitting their stride is a special sight, made all the sweeter by the support they've given other artists in days past. I hope they feel a tenth of what they've given out. Fresh off their Moofter release on Laura BCR's ‘On Board Music', Moon Patrol's next offering, ‘Moxie' dives deep into a world, rich with lush pads, warm percussion, all lending towards painting an auditory motif that would match any of those special morning moments. Ones where an all encompassing mist slowly gets burned away by a rising sun exposing the forest below. Almost as if the entire world was waking simultaneously. Moxie is one part of a 14 track compilation named "Migung 미궁" being released on the fantastic South Korean-based label, Huinali Recordings at the end of this month. Moon Patrol will be joined by other Delayed favorites such as Adhémar, Inhmost, Doltz, Ocram Orchestra, Daniel[i], OWL, and more. Irem enters the arena with Moon Patrol back in 1982 and was the first video game to feature a full parallax scrolling experience. Not only that, but teaming up with Williams for distribution led to one of the most beautiful cabinets released. Moon Patrol is a fun game and has a great story, with a game designer who wasn't a one and done, he was just getting warmed up. Enjoy the episode! We are beyond excited about today's premier hitting close to home! Following the last month's debut under the Moon Patrol moniker on 'The Meaning of Time III' compilation, our very own Gilles Wasserman is releasing his first EP! Long time in the making, the five-track "Emma's Hiding" EP produced together with his life partner Irina Kotik sees the light via the Leipzig-based A Friend In Need record label. Each track on the EP explores a particular range of, sometimes uneasy, emotions. Each built on a rich, contrasting sonic palette of the intricate organic beats and the dreamy, slightly melancholic melodies refined by the openly computerized, synthetic elements. The inherent difference between the two creates a curious harmonic tension, like a call for spiritual decoding of humanity extending ourselves across a posthuman machine-hybrid world. Closing the journey, EP's namesake "Emma's Hiding" is an introspective, airy saga gradually evolving into a wonderfully unsettling hypnotic state. Once wandering beats decisively settle the pace; floating soundscapes arise onto a peaceful, reflective background; and the crisp, casually nostalgic keyboard melody merges with a robotic, albeit still in analog form, roll call; and you have a feeling of figuring it all out - the voice sample adds an unexpected dimension, steering the thoughts towards the greater vitality of our still socially gated human connections. "Emma's Hiding" EP is out on the A Friend In Need label on July 15, 2021 write up by https://soundcloud.com/elena-lisovin Gilles Wasserman on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/gilleswasserman Gilles Wasserman on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/gilleswasserman/ www.itsdelayed.com www.instagram.com/_itsdelayed_ www.facebook.com/itsdelayed
There is a running joke at the Delayed headquarters that our blog's name is not just a sound processing effect but a way of life for all of our teammates: we eventually arrive where we're aiming to go, but we do take our sweet time getting there. There is "fashionably late" and then there is "delayed"! To say that Moon Patrol has been fashionably late to release their debut track would be a huge understatement: I could most certainly create an entire mix from all ideas and sounds that ended up on the cutting room floor, as Irina and Gilles, the dynamic duo behind Moon Patrol and founders of our blog, honed in their craft and sculpted their sound. Pretty melodies gave way to groovy house-y ditties which, in turn, receded to allow more textural experimentations and atmospheric deep dives. Only to end up on the cutting room floor. Not good enough? Of course they were, but "not quite there". And now, finally, the moment has arrived where both artists have put down their Ableton controllers, listened to their creation and proclaimed "'Tis time!"..or, perhaps, "Moofter!". The track is a culmination of a long journey and it shows: it's balanced, mature and deftly conveys what both artists are trying to say. It envelops without sounding grand; it's aurally complex without sounding experimental; it's engaging without resorting to a catchy melody. It has that elusive of qualities in electronic music: it's organic and it just flows. To say that Moon Patrol's Moofter is fashionably late would be to insult the exhaustive artistic and creative search that occurred prior to its release. Therefore, we can only say one thing about Moon Patrol: "it's delayed". "Moofter" is part of On Board Music's "The Meaning Of Time part III" charity compilation set to be released on June 4h. write up by https://soundcloud.com/slinkyslava Moon Patrol on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/irina-kotik https://soundcloud.com/gilleswasserman Moon Patrol on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kotikplus/ https://www.instagram.com/gilleswasserman/ On Board Music on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/on-board-music On Board Music on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/on_boardmusic/ www.itsdelayed.com www.instagram.com/_itsdelayed_ www.facebook.com/itsdelayed

A blast from the past. You might call it retro. Paul and Chris discuss their introduction to video games in a ‘grand experiment’ of live streaming on Twitch. This is the audio of that show from May of 2019. Go down the 16-bit memory lane with them for a short episode. Paul’s first taste of games, brought to you by the number 64, it’s Astro Grover. Paul gets a Nintendo Entertainment System with the combo cartridge of Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt. Behold the awesomeness of 1977, Chris’ first console the Atari Stunt Cycle. The arcade introduction for Chris really started with the fever of the 80s, Pac-man. Chris’ second ever cassette tape featured the jam Pac-man Fever from Buckner & Garcia. Paul shares that his office has a Ms Pac-man game. Celebrating 80s birthdays at ShowBiz Pizza Place. Arcade game never mastered, but still beloved by Chris, Moon Patrol. Paul’s exposure to arcade games came at the roller rink of Terry Hall and the largest movie theater at the time, Studio 28. Cyclone The pinball machine that had a carnival barker shouting, “Hey you with the face!” Paul discusses some favs, The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II. Remembering the game magazines that helped us solve the trickier parts of games, like Nintendo Power. Chris remembers the fun of the Summer Games where you and seven of your friends competed in Olympic events by passing the joystick. Make your own racetrack, and choose the planetary gravity with Racing Destruction Set or simply Skate or Die! Paul’s multiplayer intro came with F-zero and Mario Cart. However, the real joy was playing Madden ‘94’ or NHL ‘94’ with friends or dad. Chris recalls The Northridge Earthquake of 1994 when he thinks of NHL ‘94. Another game never mastered, but fondly remembered, R.C. Pro Am. As always, thanks for listening! Interested in helping us pay for the hosting of the show that brings you no ads? In Ausgabe #12 von Movie Watchdogs reden die drei mittelalten Nerds Tim, Timo & Christian in epischen zwei Stunden über »A Good Day To Die Hard«, »Hansel & Gretel: Witchhunter«, »Lincoln« und »Wreck-It Ralph«.
