To the Germans do we look for today's premiere as a rare appearance from one of the core Giegling members, Edward lands on Smallville for his debut release on the label. The combination of these two is not one to be ignored as the four track EP, titled ‘Eddie Green' contains all the hallmarks of an Edward release. Fast paced, hypnotic and groovy deep house, to techno infused vibes, and dubbed out house, that has moved many a floor into a dancing frenzy. So Slow rounds the release out, coming as B2 and emphasizes the jazzier, introspective side of Edward. The aptly titled track forgoes the upbeat tempos of the prior in favor of a subdued beat and piano melody that rises and falls with the undulations of the bass line. Listening through the song, scenes of rides on buses or trains, pensively looking out of windows all spring to mind. Moments of serenity in between those of cacophony. Expect Eddie Green and in turn, So Slow to be released on Smallville, July 26th. @edward @smallville-records www.instagram.com/smallville_records/ Write up by @huedj Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.itsdelayed.com www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed

Kicking off the year under the best auspices, here comes a threat of a mix from German producer Vril. Known for his nostalgia-soaked strain of big-room techno and impeccably textured audio trips, the Giegling and Delsin stalwart lays down a proper magnetic hour-and-a-half of floor-focussed dynamics, packing the very type of steel-clad punch and vaporous atmospheres we enjoy so much here at RYC. A perfect start to the new year, Vril's ever minutely engineered mix of hot-tempered grooves and deep cinematic immersion will have you both zoning out and sweating off all that extra fat put on during the holiday, while setting your sight onto the next revolution with the poise and heartiness to achieve your goals in 2024 and beyond. First out of two of Ly Sander's 'Landing' album samplers released on Special place, the package presents two tracks both serviced with a dedicated remix that offer a deep yet often unheard insight into what dance music can mean. Preoccupation about the impact of mankind on the planet is nothing new, as the radio excerpt at the basis of 'Marching to where' clearly exposes. Nevertheless, climate change or the war in Ukraine remind us cruelly how access to food at a reasonable price is currently at stake for parts of the world's population albeit our heavy colonization of the earth. Perspectives are rather gloomy and this track exposes just that, with a historical perspective. Jacques Bon was kind enough to take on remixing duties. He has released music on an array of high-rated record labels including Tim Sweeney's seminal imprint, Beats In Space, Mule Musiq, Giegling, Kann, Live At Robert Johnson and Smallville Records. Not just a solo flier, Jacques also co-produced choice deep-diving joints with the likes of Christopher Rau and Chicago House pioneers, Virgo Four. And if it's difficult to leave aside the seriousness of the topic of this track Jacques brought some hope and sweetness to his mix as well as his dreamy atmosphere. And with the increased bpm it's even dancefloor friendly, hurra! https://soundcloud.com/jacquesbon https://soundcloud.com/special-place-rec https://www.instagram.com/jacquesbon_/ https://www.instagram.com/thelysander/ www.itsdelayed.com www.instagram.com/_____delayed/ www.facebook.com/itsdelayed

Over the past few years, Kim has emerged as a notable presence in the underground electronic music scene. Her performances at festivals such as Waking Life and La Nature, and her appearances at iconic parties like Giegling or at legendary C12 alongside XDB and Funke with Van Ahn, have undeniably made waves on this side of the globe. Kim's dedication to the art of music curation shines through in her sets, and we are excited to showcase her latest mix exclusive for the "Delayed with..." series. Kim skillfully blends chuggy, dubby beats with uplifting breaks and deep, immersive, dark rhythms in this mix. From the very beginning, you're welcomed with vibrant pads and the distinctive spoken word of Tom Redecker from Taras Bulba, who introduces the classic track "Die Wahrheit." This track selection envelopes you in an after-hour atmosphere filled with off-kilter vibes. As the mix progresses, the breakbeat elements flow in like the first rays of sun through a dancefloor's windows – you know that moment when sunglasses appear. Yet, beneath the surface, there's a lingering uncanny quality, preserving a delicate yin-yang balance that keeps you entranced. Closing the set with Boards of Canada's "Split Your Infinities" is a true cherry on the top. https://soundcloud.com/kimkenis https://www.instagram.com/kimkenis_/ www.itsdelayed.com www.instagram.com/_____delayed/ www.facebook.com/itsdelayed

Over the years, Molly has been one of the hardest working DJs whose growth was steady and natural. There is no 'important club' in the world whose decks Molly hasn't graced yet. Founding her own record label, Recit De Voyage, in 2017. allowed Molly to expand her curation skills and introduce music from new talents worldwide and new music from her friends. In light of the new release - 'Recit De Voyage volume 4', a compilation that features tracks from Mary Yalex, Laura BCR, Orion, and Katie Drover, Molly recorded this wonderful mix in her sunny studio with a sea view in Corsica. His third outing on Right Hand Corner, 'pas:sage' (a play on words in french meaning unwise), continues in a similar fashion and brings us a four-track EP consisting of some of his earlier works refreshed and put together in an excellent package. The opening track and our premiere for today, 'Pluie,' sets the tone for the rest of the release with a dazzling mood and ethereal atmosphere. The track starts with rumbling bass, thunder, and rain in the background, which create a haunting moment that almost instantly dissolves into a serene atmosphere when airy, delicate pads fade in and create the melancholy mood for this beautiful track. With its broken beat, sampled vocals, and aforementioned serene atmosphere, 'Pluie' makes an ideal partner for your next road trip or closing track during the sunset overlooking Manhattan (it's so lovely having these back again). pas:sage EP is coming out on June 30th via Right Hand Corner noc:turne on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/nocturne_rhc noc:turne on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nocturne_rhc/ www.itsdelayed.com www.instagram.com/_itsdelayed_ www.facebook.com/itsdelayed

When Moritz von Oswald and Mark Ernestus pioneered Dub Techno in the early '90s, a genre with origins in Detroit, Germany, and Caribbeans, the majority thought that is just a moment and that it will be short-lived. Thirty years after and the genre still keeps 'reinventing' itself with countless releases by several generations of producers who keep pushing the boundaries and keep exploring the genre's depths. In theory, Dub Techno has a simple formula - rhythm and texture. With technology nowadays, producers can dig deeper and further develop these two ingredients and make something unique. The Vilnius-based record label, Greyscale is known for its Dub Techno aesthetics and it's been around for almost a decade. Their latest release, 'Dancing Street/Skyscraper Street', welcomes Martin Schulte, a talented producer hailing from Russia, to their impressive catalog. This double-single release is accompanied by brilliant remixes from Greyscale founder grad_u and Giegling and Delsin affiliate Vril. Vril's remix of 'Skyscraper Street' brings the pure essence of Dub Techno, a genre that broke new ground in terms of electronic music that one might listen to away from the dance floor. The track is a slow-burner with lots of details that flicker and create a cosmic atmosphere that can do wonders on your home set up as well as the part of a warm-up set during the Techno marathon in a dark club. Amsterdam-based collective and imprint De Lichting releases the first solo EP from one of its members, Kaap. Known for his passion for analog gear and a signature dubby take on House and Techno, Kaap delivers three original cuts highlighting his masterclass in the studio. 'Dead On Arrival' is a multi-dimensional and skillfully executed trip that, for ten minutes, slowly unfolds each element and builds a rolling tour de force that blurs the lines between Micro House and Dub Techno. At first, every layer seems repetitive, but if you carefully listen to them, you'll hear a whole micro-universe happening in the background tweaked just enough never to get dull. The main driver of the track is a rumbling bassline. However the real magic happens in the background of cosmic and drone pads that build a foundation for distant bell melody, which creates an atmosphere of well known, and here at Delayed beloved, German Micro House (think labels like Dial, Smallville, Giegling, Kann). We are well familiar with Kaap's brilliance in the studio, and this EP proves that this incredibly talented artist has a lot to give in the coming years. One of my biggest struggles as a grown ass man, is finding meaningful male friendships. I recently discovered that I am not alone in feeling this way. I also learned this is far too common among men and that we all genuinely crave connection. We often just mask it behind trying to be or become this "Mythical Man."Am I a Man? What does that even mean? We often hear phrases like "Man Up", "Take It Like a Man", "Nut Up", among others. These phrases fall more in line with toxic masculinity and have a pre-qualification that in order to be a man, you have to act in a certain way. If you are interested in discovering what it means to truly be a man, tune in to today's episode of The Allegory & Elm Podcast. The French electronic music scene is ever changing, it never tends to stand still for too long. However, there are several key faces and figures who make it rather special in the sense that they continue to do their thing, unphased, unchanged over time. From this they have forged fully fledged careers, often with a special sense of expertise in style and genre. Molly is perhaps one of the defining pioneers of this era of French musicians. As the founder of Récit de Voyage she has championed a wave of new producers who have taken things deeper than before, focussing on dense moody soundscapes and the tightly tuned fundamentals of dance music. Some call it minimal, some call it micro house, some call it tech house. In all honesty that doesn't matter, what it does do is captivate dancefloors through powerful, emotionally provocative energy which allows dancers to lose themselves in a transient, heads down state which is simply stunning to experience and observe. Molly has herself released music via the likes of Giegling, Groovement, RDV Music and Aku. She is one of the tightest dj's around and we are delighted to be able to feature her as part of this series.

A special thanks to our guests from Fools in Love Podcast Brandon and Meghan Giegling for coming on the cast today to discuss embracing discomfort. During a time in which we all seeking comfort in things like food, Netflix, and alcohol, we discuss what it looks like to go outside your comfort zone. Vulnerability is a key ingredient when getting outside of your comfort zone. We have to share our fears, our hopes, and our dreams. Sometimes that comes at a cost. We all have what it takes inside us, but we have to be willing to take the first step. We cannot sit and wait around to be chosen, we have to act, we have to choose, we have what it takes. "Just do it anyway!!" VRIL is one of the most reliable artists in techno. He emerged with a style that was his own and has pretty much stuck to it ever since. Eight years after his debut, that loopy, dubby take on the genre sounds as vital as ever, and most often comes on labels like Delsin, Dystopian and Giegling. A live set from the German is just as floor facing and effective. It will veer from deeper moments of intensity to trippy, off kilter drum patterns that are designed to keep you moving. Here he serves up a perfectly mix that syncs perfectly with the changing season: it’s all warm and cuddly from the off, with cosy dub techno cocooning you in an inviting sound world that slowly transitions into more twisted and straight up techno. Whether the drums are thumping or laying more horizontal, there is an absorbing intensity to VRIL's work that proves he is someone who has a real mastery of his art.

Asyl Cahier is a Tokyo-based DJ who also hosts a series of events entitled LSI Dream. While he was born in Japan, it was moving to New York that led him to explore music more deeply and begin to DJ. There he was influenced by, and had the chance to play alongside, house luminaries like Fred P, DJ Qu, and Baaz. There he also fell in love with the beauty of techno music and discovered more abstract sounds. When DJing Asyl seeks to fuse together these different influences, open to experimenting without ever losing sight of the dancefloor, with a consistent groove grounding his sets. His considered approach has established him as a name to watch in the Tokyo scene, and he has supported many international acts, including Shed, Svreca, Powell, Lena Willikens, Mosca and the Giegling crew. It's no secret that we love vinyl here at Uncanny Valley. So we didn't have to think long when Alex Ketzer asked the label to take part in his Beyond Plastic project, a mixtape in book format about artists and vinyl labels that press music on “black gold”. And there will be a CD with music from these labels that will be included with the book. Alex spent more than one year on the road to visit his favourite labels and “vinyl instititutions” in their everyday surroundings. Besides Uncanny valley the book includes interviews and articles of 60Hertz, Smallville, Liebe*Detail, Pingipung, Acker Records, Decks.de, De:Bug, Giegling, Brothers in Love, Dubplates & Mastering, Aim Vinyl, Fauxpas Musik, Oye Records, Ortloff, Kann, Rand Muzik, Freude am Tanzen and Workshop. Of course there is a 12-Inch compilation that will be released in addition to the book project. Among the artists is our very own Sandrow M. Check the project's site and the facebook-page to get updates. You can order the book and give a listen to the CD over here: http://www.bpl.io/ We kindly recommend to do that . For UV Funk Philipp and Gunnar talked about the project to Alex via telephone. On top he contributed a great mix for the show. He included only tracks that are typical examples for the particular label's sound. UV Funk is a radio show which is broadcasted every third Friday from 9:30 pm to 11:00 pm on Dresden based community radio station coloRadio. Radio listeners in Dresden can tune in to the program on 98,3 or 99,4 MHz. Any other listeners can recall it here. The show is hosted by Philipp Demankowski and Gunnar. It's all about stories, interviews and tracks out of the world of Cosmic Electronic Music. And watch out! This time it's in German. INTERVIEW + TRACKLIST > www.inverted-audio.com/giegling German record label Giegling was born out of a mutual passion of music from a collective of friends and producers who originally set out to arrange parties in an abandoned building in Weimar for their friends. After their venue was demolished in 2008, the collective continued to make use of the Giegling brand they had formed and opened up their own vinyl only label focusing on the deeper realms of house and techno. This mix was recorded by Ateq, a member of the Giegling collective, who will also release the labels 13th record, which features in this mix. Florian's mix is aimed to represent his personal perspective of the overall Giegling sound. In the interview we discuss the origins of Giegling and the people behind the label. We also discuss Giegling's relationship with Kann Records and the labels approach to hand crafting original artwork for their releases.
