Carmen Greentree is our special guest from Australia and the Author of "A dangerous pursuit of happiness" a memoir of her traumatic abduction and the power of unconditional love and healing that has grabbed headlines across the world. Carmen was a fledgling pro-surfer south coast of Sydney, who trained alongside 7 times world champ Stephanie Gilmore and competed all over the world on the pro-circuit in 202-2003. After failing to make the world championship tour of 2003, Carmen opted to take a break from surfing and travel to Dharamsala in India, home of the Dalai Lama to take courses in spirituality in 2004. Unfortunately this pursuit of happiness turned to the most traumatic journey of her life. She is one of the most influential young doctors in Emergency Medicine according to EMRA ( Emergency Room resident association) in the United States. Dr. Alin is an advocate for organ donation, public health research and patient advocacy. She is an Ambassador for safe beat, which is an organization that helps prevent the #1 killer of student athletes by providing preventative heart screening. Her modesty and chilled approach to the lead up of her illness and recovery from a heart transplant is absolutely powerful and incredible. Dr. Alin hones her focus and energy on the now and the future and faces reality head on. A true hero that continues to be a frontliner in our emergency rooms despite her journey.
