Hey Girl! In today's podcast episode, we discuss what it means to find your "childlike" joy again. We ponder the question: "What were the things that brought me joy as a child, and how can I integrate these things into my life as an adult?" One of the inspirations for this podcast was from a sermon by Pastor Preston Morrison at Gateway Church that he gave a few weekends ago. An impactful quote from the message was: "When you get what God created you to need, you are more able to do what God created you to do." We were created to need so many different things in life. One of those things in joy. In order for us to do what we were created to do, we need strength, inspiration, and motivation that comes from being filled with the things that bring us joy. God's Got You because He wants you to have joy, and He will help you find it. I hope today's episode was insightful, entertaining, and uplifting. Hey Girl! Have you recently been feeling burnt out? Have you been feeling overwhelmed with to-do's and responsibilities, but you don't know how or when to recharge your tank? It can be very difficult to balance pouring out to others and pouring into yourself. When we make time for ourselves, we oftentimes feel guilty. However, when we only give to others, we get burnt out, irritated, and restless. You need to fill up your cup in order to pour out to others. As many of us know, we need to be motivated to pursue the purpose God has for us. But motivation is fleeting. That is why we need to have a Plan B of discipline when motivation runs out. But discipline is really hard. What I have realized over the years is that you need to have incentives when you're disciplined. And making time for what matters most to you is the incentive that gives you the strength to be disciplined. In today's episode, I am sharing three tips to help you make time for what matters most to you so that you can have a steady stream to fill up your cup, as this will help you continue to love God and love others. Are you feeling weighed down with stress? Are you wondering how much longer you can carry this heavy load without making some sort of change? I have felt this way many times in life!! When you're carrying a load that's starting to get too heavy to carry, you have two options: drop the load, or reposition your grip. Let me just say, repositioning your grip is much better than dropping the load! However, repositioning your grip takes time as well as many mindset shifts. In this week's podcast episode, I share four different ways that we can change our mindset so that we can reposition our grip and carry the load of stress better. The four mindset shifts I share in the episode are: 1. Understand what lies you are believing about yourself 2. Taking five deep breaths is more helpful than you may think 3. Focus on the higher vision 4. Focus on helping others I want to encourage you that God's got you because He will help you find ways to carry the load of stress better. God wants you to live life on purpose. God wants you to lean into your gifts and help others. But God doesn't want you to burn out. God doesn't want you to be overwhelmed with stress and anxiety. God doesn't want you to feel drained and empty. God knows how you can live life well, and He wants to show you how. Proverbs 3:6 states, "In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." If we acknowledge God in our tasks and commit them to Him, He will help us understand how we can shift our mindsets and live life the way God created us to. Never forget that girl, God's got you!

There are many times in life where we oftentimes feel like we aren't equipped to do what we love when we're struggling with something in life. I have honestly been feeling this way for a little while, felling ill-equipped to make podcast episodes because I'm personally struggling with overthinking and perfectionism. But then I realize that God wants to use us in both the highs and lows. And the crazy thing about this is that when we start living out our God-given purpose more and more, we will feel better because God's purpose can simplify our lives and bring us peace. Ephesians 2:10 states, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." When we live out our purpose even when we're going through difficult things, we will feel more peace because we are pursuing the purpose that God created us to live out. One of my favorite parts of the New Year is starting off the year with a fresh start and a clean slate. And what better way to understand that we have a clean slate is by understanding that God has forgiven us and wants to strengthen us?? God wants us to live in freedom so that we can live on purpose for Him, love others, and use our gifts to help others. This is why He sent His son Jesus: so that we don't have to be burdened and distracted any longer by the hurt that Satan brings our way. In this episode, I share my takeaways from a sermon that my pastor, Preston Morrison at Gateway church, recently gave. This sermon was all about how we can overcome our trials with God's strength, how we can accept His grace, and how we can let God's relationship with us strengthen us as we overcome present and future trials. Hello Friends! In today's episode, I discuss what it means to speak with intention and why we should care about this. I also dive into my favorite speech outline you can use in presentations (for work or for school), or even just in everyday conversation to start engaging discussions. Speaking on purpose is one of the greatest abilities God has given us. Likewise, sharing an impact point with intention is one the greatest gifts we can give others. Our words matter, and when we use them to share the message God created us to share, we can grow our confidence, and most importantly, we can positively impact those around us. You were created to speak for a reason. I truly believe that God has given each and every person a message He wants us to share with the world. We can share our message through the words we say, how we say these words, and how we back these words up with action. If you're nervous about stepping out of your comfort zone and sharing what you believe in, remember that because God created you to speak for a reason, He has given you the ability to do so. -- What's your God's Got You Moment of the week? My pastor shared this impactful statement in church a few Sunday's ago: "You get to live the life that Jesus deserved to live." When you think of life in that perspective, it sounds like your life is a pretty big gift, doesn't it? In this episode, I dive more into this statement, sharing why we should live on purpose and take advantage of this gift. I also dive into three ways we can live life on purpose. My pastor actually shared these three ways in one of his recent sermons, and I wanted to go into more detail in this episode. The three ways we can live this gift of life to the fullest is by honoring God in: 1. Our words 2. Our ways 3. How we love others I hope you enjoyed today's episode! Hello Friends! Thank you so much for tuning in to another episode! Today I am talking about the idea of becoming the person you want to be. We all have this vision of our ideal selves. These include our goals, accomplishments, our future career, our future family, etc. Oftentimes, we know what we want to be, but how do we become that person? Of course, it takes motivation to work hard and be the person you want to be. However, motivation fluctuates. It's not always constant. However, discipline is something we can lean on because rather than it being a feeling, it's actually a choice. In this episode, I share different ways we can find the strength to fuel our discipline so that we can effectively work toward the person we want to be! I hope you enjoy the episode and found it helpful! Also, if you have a God's Got You Moment that you want to share, please submit it at girl.godsgotyou on Instagram! Happy Saturday! I am so excited to welcome Ms. Eileen Danko to the podcast today! She has been one of my biggest role models in life and has always given such wonderful advice about a wide range of topics such as staying close to God with a busy lifestyle, pursuing God in dating relationships, and living out a servant's heart to share God's love with others. In today's episode, Ms. Eileen and I discuss how to keep God as the first priority in school, work, and dating. We also chat about how to balance your relationship with God while also living a full and busy life. One of the biggest takeaways I had from this episode is that if we put God first in our lives, He will provide more than we could ever imagine. God is the author and perfecter or our stories. He has a wonderful and fulfilling story for our lives that is already written. We just have to trust Him each day, even when it is hard. The more we learn to trust God and make time for Him, the more we will feel His presence and care in our lives. I absolutely loved having Ms. Eileen share all her helpful advice and tips in this episode. She has been such a help to me as I grow into a young woman, and I hope her advice helps you as well. :) Ms. Eileen's Favorite Worship Song - "Breathe" by Hillsong: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8o-PIcPXF8&feature=emb_logo Ms. Eileen's Recommended Daily Devotional - "Strength for Today: Daily Readings for a Deeper Faith" by John MacArthur: https://amzn.to/3ntY2rD Sign up for Rick Warren's Daily Email Devotional - "Daily Hope" by Rick Warren: https://pastorrick.com/devotional/
I don't know if you're the same way, but all my life, I didn't do so well with change. For such a long time, I was either worried or stressed out about my life changing. I think the reason why I worry about change is that it opens the door to the unexpected, which makes me then think about all the things that could go wrong. But then I ask myself, “Are you really trusting God if you’re so worried about what the unknown future holds? If you’re letting fear take a hold of you, are you really as close to God as you think you are?” If you struggle with knowing how to handle change, I made this episode just for you. In this topic, I discuss my experience with both expected and unexpected change, and how I have learned to see change as a blessing and not a fear. When I realize that I am letting fear control me, I remind myself of this truth: We worship an unchanging God. Girl, if you’re worried about the changes ahead, I want to let you know that God’s got you because He is unchanging. In this fast-paced world, we can cling to God as our rock because He is our comfort, He is our home, and He will never change. His promises are here to stay. And as we hold on to Him, we can take on the change in our lives with excitement rather than with fear. Another truth I want to encourage you with is that God’s perfect love casts out fear, as 1 John 4:18 reminds us of. Recently, I thought about this verse in a whole new way. You see, even when the world is constantly changing, even though nothing really is promised to us, we are always promised God’s love. Jesus still died for you. The three tips I go over in this episode are all about how I have learned to handle change better. Tip #1: Prepare (this tip is for change you're expecting, such as going to college or starting a new job) Tip #2: Find the blessing (this tip is for unexpected change, such as COVID-19, quarantine, etc.) Tip #3: Remind yourself of God’s provision (this tip is for all kinds of change, because God will always provide for His children) I hope this episode was helpful and that you enjoyed listening! Thank you for coming back to the show! In today’s episode, I interviewed Heather Neumann, the founder of Lasting Impact speech coaching. Heather gave us a look into her life, sharing her journey through homeschooling and starting her online business. When it comes to learning how to be a communicator for Christ, Heather first encourages everyone to put their self-confidence in God’s hands. It’s only then that we can understand what our purpose is and what message God wants us to share with the world. Heather also reminded us that we are God’s chosen ones. Just like the disciples were called to share the Gospel to all creation, we are called to do the same. God gave us the task of bringing others to Him. Because we are all chosen to share God’s truth with the world, He will equip us with the strength and words to do so. However, we also discussed how hard it can be to share Christ in the world we live in today. Heather wanted you to know that God will give you the words to say and that He will be the one speaking through you. We should depend on His guidance and truth whenever we feel nervous sharing Jesus with others. Even though we stress the idea of verbally sharing Christ with the world, it's crucial to know that being a communicator of Christ is so much more than just talking about Him. It's all about speaking the Truth, walking in love, and living on purpose. Do you ever go to bed at night feeling guilty that you didn't get enough done in the day even though you checked everything off of your to-do list? Or, on the flip-side, do you feel guilty when you feel like you've had a productive day but you're not exhausted? I've recently gone through a lifestyle change when it comes to burn-out. During my last two years of college, I was pushing myself to the max with finishing school in 3 years, starting an online coaching business, and being involved in club leadership. Although I was grinding in school and only getting less than 5 hours of sleep every night, I never felt like I was doing enough. However, near the end of college and during quarantine, I realized that I could work hard and feel productive without feeling emotionally and mentally exhausted at the end of the day. At first, I felt guilty that I wasn't doing enough, but my friends and family always reminded me that I can still work hard and be productive, but that I also can rest and enjoy each day, too. As I have been navigating a new mindset when it comes to working hard, I've realized that one of the main reasons people tend to burn-out is because they can't let go of something that is burdening them. Usually, if we are going through a difficult circumstance that involves emotional and mental stress, we want to find a way to regain control. I know this from personal experience. In the past, one way that I have tried to have more control in my life is by working so hard to pursue my goals and refusing to take time to rest. Although it is a wonderful feeling to work hard and reach your goals, seeking gratification from perfectionism is not a healthy way to handle emotional stress. My main message is this: it is more important to seek productivity rather than perfectionism. If you're striving for productivity, you can still enjoy life, have rest, and make memories with your loved ones. If you're striving for perfectionism, you will always fall short and will continue to feel guilty for not getting enough done in the day. I want to challenge you, if you have burned yourself out (or maybe you're burning out right now), ask yourself what in your life is burdening you? What can you let go of? I wish I asked myself these questions sooner in life. If we let go of the emotional turmoil in our life, we can feel free to come to God and ask for His strength. Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Song Mentioned: "Goodness of God" by Bethel Worship https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0FBb6hnwTo "To Hell with the Hustle: Reclaiming Your Life in an Overworked, Overspent, and Overconnected World" by Jefferson Bethke https://www.amazon.com/Hell-Hustle-Reclaiming-Overworked-Overconnected/dp/0718039203/ref=sr_1_1?crid=FJQH9IG38TZV&dchild=1&keywords=to+hell+with+the+hustle&qid=1597692364&sprefix=to+hell+with+the%2Caps%2C209&sr=8-1
The episode for this week is all about boys (the most requested topic)!! Today, I discuss topics such as dating as a young Christian female, communicating honestly and clearly, loving your others like Jesus loves you, and finding your self-confidence in Jesus rather than the guy you are dating! I broke down this episode into three separate categories of tips that I wish I knew before I started dating in college! These tips are broken down into tips before you get into a relationship, tips for when you’re in a relationship, and tips for how to grow from a break-up. The main message I want to share with everyone that listens is that your relationship with God should come first, above all other relationships. This means pursuing your life purpose, putting your self-worth in God’s hands, and keeping Him as the center of your decision-making. As you grow closer to God and run on mission for Him, He will bring someone along to run next to you so that you can live on mission together. If you’re confused about how to create a healthy relationship, how to find Mr. Right, and how to fall in love with someone without losing yourself, I just want to say that God’s got you, girl! God has already written your love story and knows exactly where He wants you to go and who He wants you to be with. All you need to do is trust God, live for Him each day, and develop habits now that will result in actions of selfless love in your current and future relationships. Hello Friends! Thank you so much for coming back to another episode. I am so excited to have my dad, Rob Clausen, on the show today. For my whole life, my dad has always called his advice his "pearls of wisdom." He constantly shared these pearls of wisdom with my brother, my friends, and I growing up. Although we oftentimes rolled our eyes at the dad advice, as I grew older, I realized how valuable those pearls actually were! In this episode, we discuss topics such as finding self-confidence, building your personal brand, striving for success, and being content despite being stressed out. We also discussed dating advice, growing your faith, and how to take control of anxiety/depression. Quite the packed episode! :) One of my favorite parts of this episode was my dad's perspective on optimism: We are in control of where we put our thoughts and energy, and God is in control of our path and future. So why worry? My dad's favorite line is: "90% of the things you worry about never happen, and the other 10%, you can’t do anything about anyway." Honestly, I always remind myself of this truth. At the end of the day, God's got you and He will take care of all your needs. I hope you enjoyed this fun and insightful episode with the one and only Rob Clausen! --- My dad's favorite songs (if you want the oldies but goodies): "Yesterday Once More" by The Carpenter's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RR1v3MZcHDw "Another Park, Another Sunday" by The Doobie Brothers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rsk663fsPeg "Take it Easy" by The Eagles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0ZZHNRHA2g "Your Song" by Elton John: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOUVuviI3pM "I'm Still Standing" by Elton John: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTTQICg7cJc "Who You Say I Am" by Hillsong Worship: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKw6uqtGFfo
Max Lucado, a renowned Christian author, stated, "In God’s hand, intended evil becomes eventual good." Although we oftentimes lose heart when going through difficult times, we can feel peace if we choose to trust God even during the unknown times. As COVID-19 continues to ensue, it can be quite easy to fear the future and forget God's promises. However, what has helped me take control of my fear is training to trust God better. You see, God has an infinite amount of blessings He wants to place in our lives. He is a God of promises and has a plan for us that will bring abundance and fulfillment to our lives. Every time I find myself becoming fearful about the unknown and uncontrollable parts of life, God still ends up turning things around for His glory because He is the one in control. I wonder why I ever question His goodness. When I look at my past and think about all the different experiences either I, or someone close to me, has gone through, I see God's grace and love through it all. Even during difficult circumstances, God does show up for us. It may not be as quick as we want, and maybe it's not in the way we want. But God is a loving Father who won't forget about us. When we let fear distract us from staying focused on our purpose, we are letting Satan keep us from feeling at peace with God. We are letting Satan keep us from living the life God created us to live. However, we can choose to put trust in God over the fear of the unknown. The way that I have been trying to do this is by training to trust God more. There are three ways that I am training to trust God: 1. Remind myself of the ways God has shown up in the past 2. Make more quiet time with Him 3. Understanding that God is the only one in total control I hope you all enjoy this episode. Let's all start training together to trust God more and more each day!
