The Kill Every Monster podcast is an entertaining and informative show that delves deep into the world of D&D monsters. Hosted by Aram Vartian and Dylan Uremovich, each episode follows a three-step process: identifying the monster, discussing its characteristics and portrayal in D&D, and engaging in a one-shot PvP battle with the monster. The hosts' lovingly antagonistic dynamic adds to the enjoyment of the show, and their insightful discussions provide valuable ideas for using monsters in campaigns.

One of the best aspects of The Kill Every Monster podcast is its ability to challenge traditional tropes and bring nuance to the world of monsters. The hosts and their guests dissect each monster, exploring cultural influences on its portrayal and questioning whether it truly deserves its "monster" status. This thoughtful approach prompts listeners to think about monsters in a new light and adds depth to their own storytelling.

Additionally, Aram and Dylan's expertise shines through in every episode. Their knowledge of D&D lore, rules, and history allows them to provide detailed breakdowns of each monster's strengths and weaknesses in 5e. They also offer creative suggestions on how to use monsters that may be unfamiliar to GMs, making this podcast a valuable resource for campaign planning.

While The Kill Every Monster podcast excels in many areas, there are no significant drawbacks worth mentioning. The hosts' banter can sometimes be overly playful or inside-joke heavy, potentially alienating new listeners. However, this is merely a minor quibble that does not detract from the overall quality of the show.

In conclusion, The Kill Every Monster podcast is an ingenious and delightful listen for both new and experienced GMs alike. Its combination of informative discussions, flavorful editing, tabletop segments, and entertaining banter make it a standout show in the TTRPG space. Whether you're seeking inspiration for one-shots or looking to add more life to your campaigns through unique monster encounters, this podcast is a must-listen. Aram and Dylan's passion, knowledge, and compassion for the game make them excellent hosts, and their guests add invaluable perspectives to each episode. The Kill Every Monster podcast is a treasure trove of ideas, insights, and entertainment that will leave you eagerly awaiting the next episode.

We are currently on our mid-season break and will be back in September with TTRPG designer Connie Chang and the chimerical Chinese creation known as a Qilin. Patreon supporters will get an early preview of the Qilin episode next week. Speaking of our amazing supporters, we were recently invited to be part of the Realm network and unfortunately part of that transition meant we had to cancel our Apple Podcasts Subscribers. If you listen to the show on Apple Podcasts, you will no longer have access to ad-free episodes and bonus content. If we cancel your subscription, you will get an automatic refund from Apple. We are sorry for the hassle and very thankful for your support. We tried to find a way around this, but in the end there was no way to transfer the subscriptions over to Realm. The good news is that we are gathering bonus content from all of our shows under one Patreon: Dead Ghost Productions. Current subscribers to Kill Every Monster do not have to do anything; you'll just notice that the name of our Patreon has changed from Kill Every Monster to Dead Ghost productions. You'll get all of the content we currently post, along with early, ad-free episodes from Of Now And Then and our upcoming DIE RPG campaign, “Replay.” Dylan and I are excited and a tad overwhelmed by all of these changes, and we thank you for your continued support in making our stories possible. Aboleths are described in the Monster Manual as creatures that “lair in subterranean lakes or the rocky depths of the ocean, often surrounded by the ruins of an ancient, fallen aboleth city. An aboleth spends most of its existence underwater, surfacing occasionally to treat with visitors or deranged worshipers.”We are joined by Rich Howard. Rich, whose pronouns are he/him, is a podcaster, writer, and game designer best known for all things underwater. The Monster Manual describes Rakshasas as creatures who “employ delicacy and misdirection in their pursuit of dominion over others. Few creatures ever see the fiend in its true form, for it can take on any guise it wants. A rakshasa's true form combines the features of a human and a tiger, with one noteworthy deformity: its palms are where the backs of the hands would be on a human.”We are joined by KP.KP is a creative tackling multiple fields including photography, cosplay, Streaming, TTRPG AP, and published written work.
