Radio Harrow's Tejneet and Anjeli speaks to Stanmore Based artist Ketna Patel about their current exhibition at the Heath Robinson Museum; Pop art with purpose. Drawing on her experiences living and working within multiple cultures, British-Indian Pop artist Ketna Patel has created a boundary-pushing new exhibition for the Heath Robinson Museum in Pinner.The work is rich in cultural and mythological references, channelling everything from science fiction to Hindu and Christian iconography. It celebrates the sheer diversity of human creative expression while playfully critiquing the consumerist and Western narratives that dominate much of the world. Having grown up in Kenya and spent many years living and working in South East Asia and India, Patel has a truly global vision. She now divides her time between London and Pune, India.Running from January 9 to February 8, 2025, the show, titled REMIXOLOGY, unites East and West, old and new, the sacred and the everyday, making innovative use of video, print and photography.

Technicians: We Make the Difference is a new campaign about raising awareness of the roles technicians do. It follows a survey conducted by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation which found only 5% of young people know a lot about jobs a technician can do.Sarika speaks to Tyler Terry-Wallace, a Simulation Technician at Guys & St Thomas' Hospital. He's one of the people in these hidden technician roles. In his job he uses a very expensive manikin (a jointed model of the human body, used in medical training) to create real-life scenarios within a mock-up ward for doctors and nurses to train with.
Sarah McCulloch MSc is an autistic occupational therapist with experience across a range of acute mental health, community, and paediatric settings. She currently works as an NHS manager in North London. Her lived experience as an autistic adult and her professional experiences of meeting unidentified autistic people in every service in which she worked led her to found the Autistic Empire in 2018. The Autistic Empire is an autistic social organisation built by and for autistic adults to form a community based on autism as a civic identity and to provide practical tools and services for all autistic people. Sarah's increasing professional focus is the importance and development of positive autistic identity. Sarah is based in London, UK.During the show we touched on her journey in life towards being diagnosed with autism, her previous work as an occupational therapist and her current work as an NHS manager. LNWH charity is hosting its very first ever virtual half marathon throughout this month and urging people to raise vital funds to support LNWH NHS Trust projects such as elderly care, by either walking or running 13 miles in one go or by the end of October.Entry is £10 and to register, people just need to email LNWH-tr.charitychallenge@nhs.net. Every participant who raises funds through the challenge will receive a medal.
