Stop and ask yourself, "Am I free?" The reality is most of us aren't. We use a variety of things to fill the void of our hearts: alcohol, drugs, porn, masturbation, social media...the list goes on. Addiction can be anything we use as an escape from the root of our problems. It brings about feelings of shame, guilt and isolation, making it difficult to talk about with others. When we make plans and they don't work out, it's tough to trust that God has something better. However, He has given us crazy wild dreams and wants to see us pursue them while trusting He will provide in abundance. Throughout college I dreaded the question "What do you want to do with your life?" because it wasn't easy for me to package my dreams and passions into a single job. When I was tempted to believe my only option was to settle, Jesus would remind me that He had something better. My patience paid off and with the help of St. Jospeh I was able to land my dream job!
