Director of the Alabama Department of Archives and History) recount the 1824-1825 visit of the Marquis de Lafayette to the United States, how his 3-month plan turned into a year-long stint as “The Nation's Guest,” and the social and political context surrounding his tour. Bridges focuses on Lafayette's whirlwind tour through Alabama and how lavishly the young frontier state welcomed him. The sound of “Stranger Things” has always been huge, cinematic, and unmistakably its own — and the series finale takes that signature style to its most epic scale yet. In this conversation, supervising sound editor Craig Henighan, re-recording mixer Mark Paterson, and dialogue and ADR supervisor Ryan Cole join us to discuss bringing the final chapter to life, from the sonic DNA first established in season one, to the massive battles and emotional moments that define the end of the series. They also break down how the team balanced all of that scale and intensity without losing clarity, dynamics, or the emotional release that makes all “that chaos" work. “The tricky bit is to kind of embrace a lot of that chaos. It's usually like some Demogorgon screaming and just everything's all going on at once. But the key to it is that that chaos ends and you feel that release. That's kind of what makes the audience feel safe. So it's a tricky balance to work out, ‘how clean do we go in, in terms of mixing here, to hear everything else?' We always work through that with the [Duffer Brothers], as well.” —Mark Paterson, Re-recording Mixer, “Stranger Things” season 5 Be sure to check out “Stranger Things,” now streaming on Netflix, in Dolby Vision® and Dolby Atmos®. Raw Nutrition, Pawtrition, and the Future of Canine HealthIn this episode, Greg speaks with entrepreneur and canine nutrition educator Ryan Cole about the hidden problems with highly processed dog food and the growing movement toward raw feeding for dogs. Ryan shares the personal story that launched his mission after rescuing a pit bull with severe allergies and discovering how dramatically diet impacted the dog's health and quality of life. The conversation explores kibble manufacturing, common ingredient red flags, raw feeding basics, portion control, canine obesity, treats, digestive health, and how personalized nutrition plans can improve a dog's longevity. Ryan also introduces Pawtrition, an AI-powered dog meal planning platform designed to help dog owners create customized raw feeding plans based on breed, age, weight, and health goals. Our Guest: Ryan Cole is an entrepreneur and founder of Lineage Premier, a canine-focused health and nutrition company dedicated to empowering dog parents with better feeding guidance and nutrition education. He is also the creator of Pawtrition, a Lineage Premier product and AI-powered dog meal planning app designed to help pet owners feed smarter with personalized nutrition plans tailored to each dog's breed, age, weight, and health goals. Through his work, Ryan bridges practical pet care with education, helping dog parents move beyond the guesswork toward informed decisions that support long-term canine health and vitality.Key Topics & EntitiesRyan ColePawtritionLineage PremierRaw feeding for dogsHighly processed kibble and canine healthFood allergies in dogsPit bull rescue storiesCanine nutrition educationPersonalized dog meal planningBioavailable nutrients in raw dietsPortion control and canine obesityHealthy dog treats and frozen fruit snacksBreed-specific nutritionDigestive health and stool quality in dogsKey QuestionsWhat inspired Ryan Cole to focus on canine nutrition?Ryan's journey began after rescuing a pit bull named Pops who suffered from severe allergic reactions to processed foods, shampoos, and synthetic materials. After switching to boiled chicken and rice and later researching raw feeding, Ryan saw dramatic health improvements that inspired him to dedicate his career to canine nutrition education. Why does Ryan believe highly processed kibble is problematic?Ryan explains that many kibble products are made from low-quality byproducts and heavily processed ingredients that are cooked at high temperatures, stripping away natural nutrients. Manufacturers then spray synthetic nutrients and fats onto the kibble after processing to improve flavor and nutritional labeling. What ingredients should dog owners watch for on labels?Ryan recommends paying close attention to the word “crude” on ingredient labels, especially crude proteins and crude fats. He also advises dog owners to read manufacturing warnings about cross-contamination from facilities processing allergens like nuts and grains. What does a healthy raw diet for dogs look like?A balanced raw diet includes raw meats, organ meats, vegetables, fruits, healthy fats, and oils. Ryan shares examples like chicken leg quarters, ground beef, chicken gizzards, green beans, duck eggs, and Alaskan fish oil.How does Pawtrition help dog owners?Pawtrition generates personalized 30-day meal plans based on a dog's breed, age, weight, activity level, and health goals. The platform also includes budgeting tools, nutrition tracking, shopping assistance, veterinary checklists, and educational resources. Are most dogs overfed or underfed?Ryan says the bigger issue is often calorie-dense kibble rather than meal quantity itself. Because processed food is highly concentrated and less nutritionally bioavailable, dogs can gain weight even when owners believe they are feeding appropriate portions. What are signs a dog's diet may not be working?Common warning signs include chronic itching, dull coats, digestive problems, inconsistent stool quality, scooting behavior, and excessive shedding or inflammation.Should dog owners rotate proteins and foods?Ryan recommends dietary variety whenever possible to improve nutrient diversity and prevent nutritional imbalances. Different proteins and vegetables offer different bioavailable nutrients and health benefits. What treats does Ryan recommend?Ryan prefers whole-food treats like frozen watermelon, blueberries, strawberries, and homemade fruit popsicles mixed with healthy fish oils instead of processed commercial treats. What drives Ryan's work today?Ryan credits his mother's work ethic and his lifelong passion for helping animals and people. He views Pawtrition and Lineage Premier as community-driven educational tools rather than simply businesses.Episode HighlightsRyan rescued his first pit bull, Pops, at age 17 after his father passed away.Pops suffered severe reactions to processed foods and synthetic products before transitioning to a raw diet.Ryan explains how kibble manufacturing prioritizes shelf life and profit margins over nutrition quality.Greg shares a story about healing a rescued golden retriever through raw feeding after medications failed.Pawtrition creates downloadable customized feeding plans for dog owners.Ryan discusses why working breeds like heelers should remain lean to protect joints and hips. The conversation highlights the importance of observing each individual dog rather than following generic feeding advice.Ryan recommends the book The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom for its message about interconnectedness and purpose.ResourcesPersonalized canine meal planning — PawtritionRaw feeding education and breed resources — Lineage PremierFollow Ryan Cole on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube under “Lineage Premier”Visit www.urbanfarm.org/Pawtrition for the show notes on this episode, and access to our full podcast library! According to the New York Times, attorney Aaron Siri and HHS Secretary RFK Jr. are overhauling the CDC & ACIP vaccine advisory committee. The planned changes include a restructuring of its vaccine charter – incorporating a proposal that “places a heavy emphasis on vaccine safety and includes “recovery from serious vaccine injuries” as among the types of expertise that would qualify someone to be a committee member.” The NYT reports that Aaron Siri “argued that vaccines that blunt illness but do not prevent infection or transmission do not have an impact more broadly on the population, so individuals should be free to choose for themselves whether they wish to be immunized.” He included polio, tetanus, and HPV shots in this category. Aaron Siri discusses his viral petition and why he wants to end the era of “vaccinating children like cattle.” Pathologist Dr. Ryan Cole gives an update on his fierce legal battle against the Washington State Medical Commission's attempt to restrict his license. We talk with historian Ryan Cole about memory, gratitude, and the young republic's most celebrated guest. Cole's new book, The Last Adieu: Lafayette's Triumphant Return, the Echoes of Revolution, and the Gratitude of the Republic , explores the extraordinary 1824–1825 return tour of Gilbert du Motier, marquis de Lafayette. Nearly fifty years after the shots at Lexington and Concord, Lafayette's journey across all twenty-four states became a rolling national reunion, a living bridge between the Revolutionary generation and a rising America eager to define itself. Lafayette's visit was more than ceremonial pageantry. It was a reaffirmation of republican ideals, a masterclass in civic memory, and perhaps the most unifying event of the early nineteenth century. From parades and banquets to emotional reunions with aging veterans, the tour rekindled revolutionary spirit at a moment when the nation stood at a crossroads. This conversation reminds us that anniversaries are not simply about looking backward. They are about renewing vows. Lafayette's farewell tour shows how a grateful republic honors its past while quietly shaping its future.Tell us what you think! Send us a text message!

To earn her own way through theater school in Philadelphia, Tai Ricci bussed tables at one of Stephen Starr's restaurants. With her naturally outgoing personality and drive, she moved up the ranks to become a high-earning server and realized the restaurant business was her true calling. That calling took her to LA and eventually San Francisco, landing at one of Michael Mina's restaurants and meeting up with Ryan Cole and Chef Jason Halverson. Over lunch one day, the three came up with a plan to open their first restaurant. Twelve years later, the partners lead Hi Neighbor Hospitality Group in the San Francisco area and operate five diverse independent restaurants that have become neighborhood favorites.Ricci oversees events and people operations for the group, developing a vibrant team culture that fosters growth and creates a workplace where the next generation of hospitality professionals can thrive. But she also has a keen sense of what diners are seeking in restaurants today, and the group's concepts including Trestle, MAMA Oakland and The Vault Steakhouse deliver on that with their menus, ambience and service.Listen as Ricci shares how her love for hospitality has shaped Hi Neighbor's restaurants into dining destinations admired by guests and team members alike.

The American Academy of Pediatrics released new vaccine recommendations that directly oppose guidance from the HHS – insisting on COVID-19 vaccinations in babies as young as 6 months. Pathologist Dr. Ryan Cole & Dr. Kelly Victory reveal how the AAP has been captured by Big Pharma interests. The organization's top donors, listed on their own website, are Merck, Moderna, Pfizer, and Sanofi: the 4 pharma companies that “make virtually every vaccine on the CDC recommended childhood vaccine schedule.” HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. issued a stern warning in response: “AAP should also be candid with doctors and hospitals that recommendations that diverge from the CDC's official list are not shielded from liability under the 1986 Vaccine Injury Act.” Dr. Ryan Cole is a board-certified pathologist trained at Mayo Clinic with subspecialty in dermatopathology from Columbia University. Jordan Sather runs solo while Nate is out, diving deep into RFK Jr.'s decision to cancel $500 million in mRNA respiratory vaccine contracts. He breaks down why RFK considers these shots pointless due to rapid viral mutations and shares Dr. Ryan Cole's take that this move could collapse the mRNA vaccine empire. Sather calls out media outlets parroting identical pro-vaccine scripts, highlights the push to remove vaccine exemptions, and revisits whistleblower Dr. William Thompson's revelations on CDC coverups. The conversation shifts to RFK's ban on thimerosal, U.S. health decline since the 1980s, and the broken “sick care” system. From there, Sather tackles overhauling USDA dietary guidelines, improving prison and school meals, cutting soda and candy from SNAP, and requiring nutrition education in medical schools. He stresses the gut-brain connection, critiques farm subsidies favoring GMO crops, and advocates for local, nutrient-dense food production. Along the way, he shares fitness tips, supplement recommendations, and answers viewer questions on topics from DMSO to moringa, wrapping with plans for an upcoming children's health episode.

Here's my interview with Keiichi Matsuda, Designer and Director of Liquid City, that was conducted on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Augmented World Expo in Long Beach, CA. In the introduction, I read through Matsuda's essay titled "Gods" (also uploaded here) where he explores the idea that AI should be more like pets and polytheistic and animistic familiars rather than the more monotheistic approach where there's one true AI God represented by one of Big Tech's omniscient and all-powerful AI systems. This approach has lead Matsuda to developing a system of what he calls "parabrains" that is an interface for AI agents that goes beyond the narrative scripting capabilities that he was exploring in inworld.ai with his project MeetWol that I covered previously at AWE 2023. A lot of Matsuda's ideas were also explored in the speculative fiction short film called Agents that was produced in collaboration with what was a the time Niantic Labs and is now Niantic Spatial (check out my interview with Niantic Spatial at AWE 2025 for more on how they're using Matsuda's Parabrains system). And you can also see more context in the rough transcript below. This is episode #41 of 41 of my AWE Past and Present series totaling 24.5 hours. As courageous physicians like IMA Senior Fellow Dr. Brooke Miller and longtime advocate Dr. Meryl Nass sound the alarm, a coordinated industry campaign is quietly advancing legislation that would make EPA-approved labels the final word on pesticide safety, effectively blocking Americans from seeking justice when harmed by these chemicals.Join Dr. Ryan Cole as he hosts this critical conversation exploring the disturbing parallels between vaccine and pesticide liability protections. With several states having already passed or considered these "liability shield" laws, and similar legislation advancing across the country, time is running short to expose this corporate power grab. While Bayer faces billions in Roundup settlements and tens of thousands of pending lawsuits, will Americans lose their fundamental right to hold manufacturers accountable for toxic exposures? The implications reach far beyond the courtroom and into the heart of medical freedom and corporate responsibility.URL: https://imahealth.org/doctors-against-pesticide-liability-protection/Keywords/Tags: pesticide liability protection• Donate: https://imahealth.org/donate/• Follow: https://imahealth.org/contact/• Webinar: https://imahealth.org/category/weekly-webinars/• Treatment: https://imahealth.org/treatment-protocols/• Medical Disclaimer: https://imahealth.org/about/terms-and-conditions/About IMA (Formerly FLCCC Alliance)The Independent Medical Alliance™ is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization and coalition of physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals united by a mission to restore trust and transparency in healthcare. We begin our discussion by noting that Trump is making a mistake signaling he will never ignore a court. It's unsustainable when federal courts uphold most Democrat usurpations of power and then “veto” Republican efforts to rescind them. Next, we're joined by Dr. Ryan Cole, famed Idaho pathologist, for a roundup of successes and failures of the medical freedom movement both in Idaho and nationally. He summarizes the robust medical freedom bill that just passed but also notes how we still have not made progress banning mRNA. He warns HHS not to approve this fast-tracked self-amplifying bird flu vaccine. As always, Dr. Cole explains in laymen's terms the problem with bombing the immune system with too many of these vaccines, the threat of self-spreading vaccines, and how there is plausible evidence that vaccines might be one of the contributing factors to the rise in childhood illnesses. Finally, Dr. Cole says he is seriously considering running for governor of Idaho. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Nancy Mace about men using women's bathrooms and why it's a prime example of fighting with the army you have, not the one you want.
