Well, this is a scary one for me to post but my intention is to candidly share my feelings to help normalize the internal battle that many people are having right now. I mostly definitely didn't say everything correctly, but I'm open to learning ❤️
Welp, this turned into a longer story than I planned but I've had some weird health stuff lately and wanted to share. As promised in the episode, here's a list of resources that I've found: Canada: Affordable and free mental health services (https://www.mindbeacon.com/) Canada: List of 10 free mental health services
My newest morning routine has me all fired up because it stemmed from me feeling overwhelmed in therapy.
Well, already mucked things up and said the wrong season in the first line, seems appropriate

Does balance in motherhood exist? I'm not totally sold BUT @lisacanning (mom of 8) sat down with me and we talked all about it. Her answers were NOT what I expected and I left this interview feeling fired up and excited. I asked her everything from: - What are her tips for finding balance? - How can you avoid the comparison trap? - All about her routine with her 8 kids - Her breastfeeding journey with 8 kids - How moms can switch from one task to another (ie. kids to work), and quickly jump in. Checkout her EPIC program, Conquer Your Calendar HERE.
How the heck can you talk to your kids about COVID? Honestly, I had NO idea, so I reached out to @lifeofdrmom, Stephanie Liu, to get tips on how we can help support our young kids during this time. In this new episode of The Mom Break Podcast, Stephanie and I talk about: - Tips to help young children deal with COVID - How she manages life as a family doctor, two young kids, a surgeon husband, and also simultaneously running a side-hustle - Common side effects of the flu shot - How to keep toddler gloves on - Her experience potty training - How she feels as a Dr during a pandemic
OK, I promise this title is a bit misleading.... But it's just shorter than, "Hey, after years I finally figured out how to properly prioritize my life and now I feel more balanced and happier than ever before...and because of that, I feel like I'm finally getting everything done". Here's the catch: I'm not ACTUALLY doing it all (y'know how I feel about that, it's not possible all at the same time), I've just spent the last year re-prioritizing my life and fine-tuning my schedules so that I can: - Get all of the important things (to me) done - Scale back and simplify my life - Be happier and feel better So, because I've made some MAJOR changes in the last year (and life has thrown us all some ridiculous curveballs), I chat in this episode about the THREE MAIN THINGS I changed this year. I originally had this episode scheduled for May, but given the recent Ontario lockdown, I know a lot of people are struggling with scheduling, and this is what I've been doing that works for me...so this episode got bumped up. They shared with me: - Their experience with infertility - Their rounds of IVF - Their journey to get to where they are - What it's like being pregnant at the same time - Their labour and delivery story - How they're doing now Don't miss this episode, because they're an adorable and hilarious couple that doesn't shy away from the tough conversations, but rather, candidly shares their journey in a hilarious and loving way.
