Its power transcends time, culture, and circumstance, bringing light, order, and life wherever it is spoken. In a world of shifting values and fleeting truths, the Word stands immovable, a rock of divine authority that never fails.05/15/2025 - Thursday NightScriptures:Psalm 119:89-96Psalm 121:4Jeremiah 30:11Psalm 9:5, 9:7, 10:16, 19:9, 23:6, 28:9, 33:11, 37:18, 37:28, 45:6, 48:8, 52:5, 52:8, 72:17Hebrews 1:3Colossians 1:17I Peter 1:6-7Colossians 1:13Ephesians 2:10
In this episode, we explore the connections between 1 Kings 8:1–13 and Ephesians 2:17–22, tracing the story of God's dwelling place from Solomon's temple to the household of God built on Christ, and the apostles and prophets. We begin by reflecting on Solomon as a man of peace who, at the height of Israel's unity and prosperity, brings the ark of the covenant into the Holy of Holies during the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot). We unpack the significance of this moment—not only as the culmination of temple-building, but also as a symbolic statement about God's presence: God is stationary enough to dwell among His people, yet larger and mobile enough not to be confined by them. The mobile nature of God's presence was symblized by the poles used to transport the ark remaining attched to the ark, reminding Israel that God is not a localized deity limitd to the Temple, but the Lord of all the earth. From there, we turn to Ephesians 2:17–22, where Paul describes Jesus as the cornerstone of a new temple made up of people—both Jews and Gentiles—joined together through their participation in the new, unified, peaceful humanity of Christ. Like Solomon, Jesus partners with God to build a dwelling place for God from a place of peace and oneness. However, unlike Solomon, Christ did not inherit a situation of peace from his father. He had to forge it within himself - in his own flesh - reconciling his Jewishness with Gentileness. That reconciliation took place throughout the entire course of his life, all the way into the the excruciating experience of the cross where his love and commitment for Gentiles was severely tested. By reconciling Jew and Gentile together in his own flesh and humanity, he was able to reconcile them both to God in his own fleshly body on the cross. This made it possible for Jews and Gentiles who participate in his new humanity to be one "body", and function together as a dwelling place for God - a temple in the Lord - in the Spirit. Just as the glory of the Lord filled Solomon's temple, the Spirit now indwells this new temple, a mobile, missional people shaped by God's own presence. This episode invites listeners to consider how God's desire was never just to dwell among Israel, but to make His presence among Israel accessible among the nations. The mobile nature of God's presence—tabernacling with humanity, dwelling in Christ, and now among His people—is a thread that ties Solomon's temple to the apostolic mission of the Church. The temple was never meant to be an end in and of itself - it was pointing to something greater.Key Passages:1 Kings 8:1-13Ephesians 2:17-22Key Resources:Link to visuals and video of the design of Solomon's TempleExplainer Video on how to use www.biblehub.com and www.blueletterbible.orgLeave us a question or comment at our website podcast page.* Intro Music: "Admirable" Carlos Herrera Music

Amen.Old Testament2 Samuel 6:1-5, 12b-19David again gathered all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand. David and all the people with him set out and went from Baale-judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the Lord of hosts who is enthroned on the cherubim. They carried the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were driving the new cart with the ark of God; and Ahio went in front of the ark. David and all the house of Israel were dancing before the Lord with all their might, with songs and lyres and harps and tambourines and castanets and cymbals. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom to the city of David with rejoicing; and when those who bore the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fatling. David danced before the Lord with all his might; David was girded with a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of theLord with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. As the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal daughter of Saul looked out of the window, and saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart. They brought in the ark of the Lord, and set it in its place, inside the tent that David had pitched for it; and David offered burnt offerings and offerings of well-being before theLord. When David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the offerings of well-being, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts, and distributed food among all the people, the whole multitude of Israel, both men and women, to each a cake of bread, a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins. Then all the people went back to their homes. The PsalmPsalm 24Domini est terra1 The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it, *the world and all who dwell therein.2 For it is he who founded it upon the seas *and made it firm upon the rivers of the deep.3 "Who can ascend the hill of the Lord? *and who can stand in his holy place?"4 "Those who have clean hands and a pure heart, *who have not pledged themselves to falsehood, nor sworn by what is a fraud.5 They shall receive a blessing from the Lord *and a just reward from the God of their salvation."6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, *of those who seek your face, O God of Jacob.7 Lift up your heads, O gates;lift them high, O everlasting doors; *and the King of glory shall come in.8 "Who is this King of glory?" *"The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle."9 Lift up your heads, O gates;lift them high, O everlasting doors; *and the King of glory shall come in.10 "Who is he, this King of glory?" *"The Lord of hosts,he is the King of glory."orOld...

We Will Hear Many Spirits, But Please Listen To The Holy Spirit Scripture Reference:Genesis 2:15-17Genesis 3:1-3Genesis 3:4-7Key Points:1. Here is how we differentiate, the demonic spirit will instuct us in greed, jealousy, unforgiveness and hate, while the Holy Spirit in love, peace, patience and praising God which helps us to elevate.Hebrews 4:12-13Ephesians 6:17John 1:1-142. We will hear many views, on the radio, in person or on the television evening news, but when we study God's Word and the Holy Spirit speaks to us, He is the one that we should choose.Roman's 8:1-143. We will know the Holy Spirit lives in us, when God sees our private activities and approves of us, or when we hang out with demonic friends or family and their ungodly Spirit don't influence us.Roman's 8:15-17Luke 8:16-184. So here is our choice, we can listen to the devil via the world and barely get by, or we can listen to Jesus through His Word and truly live before we die.1 Thessalonians 5:14-20

The other times I read it, I read that part correctly. However, here is the verse: "Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest'? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest."When I said, "Seeking out people; saving people; restoring people to relationship with God; forgiving our sins" I was referring to what Jesus does. I was not implying that we ourselves can save people, restore them to relationship with God, or forgive their sins. Nevertheless, Jesus works through us.I paraphrased John 7:17. In this message, God shows us the transformative power of grace, urging us to heed its call and embrace its life-changing effects. Throughout the message, we learn about the pivotal role of Christ as both the key and the door, inviting us to open ourselves to His grace and peace. Drawing from a variety of biblical passages, we read about the unity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in the process of redemption and sanctification. Moreover, the message delves into the dangers of pride and ignorance, cautioning against the Pharisaical rejection of known truth. Encouraging us to extend forgiveness and love, we are reminded of the importance of letting go of grudges and embracing grace in all interactions. The message also touches on the theme of reconciliation, stressing the need for unity among believers and with God. Additionally, we are reminded of the importance of prayer and seeking divine guidance in navigating life's challenges. As the episode draws to a close, we are reminded of the certainty of eternity and the imperative to live in accordance with God's will. Ultimately, the message serves as a compelling call to embrace grace, reject pride, and live in love and unity with God and fellow believers.Scripture References:Revelations 3:20Revelations 1:4John 14:16-17Galatians 3:13Ephesians 4:32John 8:21, 24Leviticus 1:4John 1:11James 4:171 Timothy 2:8

The Epiphany of the LordThe Magi evoke the importance of alertness in the spiritual life. We must keep our eyes open to God's hand in the world and respond. The Magi come bearing three gifts: Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh. Gold is symbolic of Christ the King. Frankincense is used for worship in the Temple, and Myrrh a perfume, was used to anoint dead bodies.Whether the Magi were wise men from the east, kings from distant lands, or astrologers following a cosmic event, is not essential to the story. But what is significant is that they were gentiles. Their acknowledgment of Jesus as Savior emphasizes that he is the Messiah for all the world, not just for the Jews. The Star not only led the Magi to the child, but is also symbolic of their enlightenment, the realization that it was Jesus' very humanity that mattered, not his wealth or social status. How does the Magi's journey to find the Christ child, born in a manger, resonate with your own journey to find Jesus in your own life? Love was the aim of the Apostle Paul's teaching. It ought to be ours as well. But we often fight over Scripture with unloving attitudes and words. It doesn't need to be this way. We must contend for the truth, but we can do so in a loving way.But what does that look like? None of us are or were exempt from sin. Like the woman in this chapter, we were condemned and deserving of death, but someone who could have sealed our fate decided to pause and remind our accuser that he too was condemned and he had to drop his stones. We have been given great grace! What are we going to do with it - continue in our sin or will we go and sin no more? Today we have the honor of going deep into the life of a sister, Angie Baughman, as she vulnerably shares about her walk with the Lord. John 17:20-21 NLT20 “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. 21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. • • •Definition of Unity: the state of being united or joined as a whole. Why is Unity so Important?Unity Requires Alignment • • •1 Corinthians 12:13 NLT13 Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. In the first of our series on strongholds, we discuss deception. We all believe the lies of the enemy in certain areas of our lives. Today we combat those lies of deception with the truth of the Word of God.Scriptures:Genesis 3:1-72 Corinthians 11:3John 8:44Colossians 2:81 Corinthians 6:91 Corinthians 15:33Galatians 6:7James 1:16-18Romans 1:18, 25John 14:6John 8:31-36John 17:17Ephesians 1:13Ephesians 4:17-25Ephesians 6:141 Peter 1:22Prayer or RepentanceFather, in the Name of Jesus, I thank You that You are the Way, the Truth and the Life—the only Truth and the only Way. I thank You that You desire that I have truth in my inward parts and that I walk in the freedom that comes only from walking in the light of Your truth.Father, today I take a stand against any deception trying to take root in my life. I bind deception and lies right now in the Name of Jesus. I curse every attempt of the devil to get me to buy a lie.I refuse to be tempted to believe lies wrapped in truth and things that sound good or sound right, but do not line up with Your Word.I declare that I walk in love toward all people, which is a defense against deception. I ask, Lord, that when people—even proclaiming Christians—exalt new ideas over the Word of God, that I will be quick to recognize it—that I will look to Your Word for guidance and confirmation, not to man.I ask that every veil be removed from my eyes, that I will not be blinded by the opinions of others, by the thoughts and ideas of the world, but I will know the true voice of my Shepherd.Lord, I ask that You bring conviction upon me for any areas where I have fallen into believing a lie. Show me these areas, and bring them to my mind. I ask that You cause me to humble myself, repent and get back on the road of truth.Your Word says You set the captives free, and I declare today that I am free of deception. I praise You and thank You that You keep me safe in Your truth and that I will always have strength and desire to abide in You, no matter what persecution I may face.In Your Name, I pray. Amen.Mentioned in this episode:Nux Ad Preroll

Most of the time we pray on what might be considered “felt need” prayers. We're facing a crisis, we have practical needs, we're trying to cope, so we pray. We ask God to intervene. But have you ever considered that there could be a whole other level to our prayers? The Apostle Paul certainly thought so, and the prayer we find in Ephesians 1:15-23 demonstrates that. As we look at this prayer, we need to understand that:· What Paul is longing for in this people, God is longing for in us. · What Paul is praying for this people, we ought to pray for others. There is so much to dig into in this prayer, but for now, let's break this prayer down into three simple parts.1. The apostle prayed that these everyday saints might come to understand…the wonder of God's person. “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.” (vs. 17)People who know their God have a holy boldness that nothing and no one can defeat or deflect. They have a quiet confidence notwithstanding their circumstances. 2. The apostle prayed that they come to understand…the wisdom of God's plans.“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.” (vs. 18) God has plans for you. Yes, plans for heaven one day. But God also has plans for you here and now, and those plans are not only for His glory but for your good.3. The apostle prays that they would grasp…the wealth of God's power.“…and his incomparably great power for us who believe.” (vs. 19a) Notice that Paul doesn't ask the Ephesians to pray that God will give them this power, but that they would live in light of the power they already have. What would it be like if you began to pray this for yourself and for others in the months ahead? What if we devoted ourselves to praying below the surface? One of the easiest ways is to take these verses and just fill in the blank with the name of the person you're praying for. “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give _________ the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that _________ may know Him better."I pray that the eyes of _________ heart may be enlightened in order that _________ may know the hope to which He has called ________... "…and His incomparably great power for _________ who believes…" Here are other passages you can pray for yourself and others.Romans 15:5-6Romans 15:13Ephesians 1:17Ephesians 1:18-19Philippians 1:9-10Colossians 1:9-10I Thessalonians 5:23Philemon 6 Text: Ephesians 1:15-23Originally recorded on January 24, 2016, at Fellowship Missionary Church, Fort Wayne, IN.

Well if you're like us, you would have been incredibly challenged by what the Bible has to say on greed, gluttony, slothfulness, pride, anger, envy and lust. This has been a big series and so we have come to the end and realised we missed a few key points for some of the sins plus we thought we'd review what we learnt and spend some time thinking about how to realistically apply killing off these sins in our lives and how to encourage others to do the same! Thank the Lord for His Spirit, who helps us become more in step with what He wants and less with what we want. Enjoy! Bible Verses: Matthew 18:6-9Galatians 5:13Ephesians 5:8-14Philippians 3
Gar Bozeman | Christian School RetreatIn this session, Gar discusses identity and how we should handle gender and pornography according to the Bible. How we view ourselves is important, and it's important that we look through the lens of Scripture. If you're struggling with gender identity, a porn addiction, etc., remember that you are sealed in Christ. The Lord's got you and He's able to keep you. God designed gender roles. To reject our gender roles and identity is to reject a portion of the Gospel. We need to keep Truth at the center of our focus and guard our hearts from rejecting God's design. Rob Conti | Be Strong 2021 | Sunday MorningThe Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. Rather than giving us the punishment we deserve, He instead shows us grace and mercy for our sins. Today, Rob looks at Psalm 51 and what we can learn from David’s repentance. David commits adultery with Bathsheba and then has her husband, Uriah, killed in combat to cover up his sin. Any man would say that David deserved wrath. But God is not a man. He is patient with us and slow to anger. In Psalm 51 we see David’s repentant heart and His plea for mercy. David pleads his case on the basis of the nature and character of God. However God’s wrath still has to go somewhere. God lifts it off of us and places it on Christ so that we might become righteous. His blood is more powerful than any sin. The consequences for our sins are temporary and God uses them to sanctify us. Let’s walk in repentance and share the hope we have in Christ. Have you ever had a moment in life when everything is going exactly the way you hoped it would? Maybe even better than you hoped—that time when you had complete joy and peace? Maybe you looked up with your hands raised to heaven and declared, “God, you are so good!”. What about that moment in life when everything seems to come crashing down. Those moments when you are left with little to no hope. Instead of peace and joy, you are full of despair. If you acknowledge God at all it’s something like, “God, how could you allow this to happen to me?”.Maybe you are in that place of despair right now. You wonder if you will ever find any semblance of hope, peace, or joy in life. You wonder why God would ever allow you to even be in this dark place—or worst yet, maybe you blame God for doing this to you?My guest today knows exactly what it is like to go from a mountaintop experience to the darkest, deepest valley. There is hope. You will find peace again, and you will experience joy unspeakable.Dave Dravecky worked his way through the minor leagues to one day find his lifelong dream of becoming a Major League pitcher come true. His career was moving forward when tragedy struck in the form of a cancerous tumor on his pitching arm. The doctors told Dave that, short of a miracle, he would never pitch again. But Dave was focused on his comeback to Major League baseball. Less than a year after surgery removed half of Dave’s deltoid muscle, he made his comeback. He allowed 4 hits in 8 innings to beat the Cincinnati Reds 4-3. It was one of those mountaintop moments! But Dave’s next Major League start would be his last.I encourage you to share this episode with everyone you know. There has been a lot of talk, especially in the past couple, few years of not replacing, sharing our testimonies with sharing the gospel. So, I would like to be very very clear, it’s not the sharing of our testimony which is God’s power for salvation, but it is the sharing, communication, proclamation of the gospel that God has ordained as the vehicle by which the Holy Spirit uses to draw, convict, convince, and ultimately convert people unto salvation. It may seem a bit elementary, but our nation and denominations as a whole, seem to have drifted far from sharing a clear gospel as the main priority and ultimate power by which we are saved. If you hear me (Barbara) say nothing else on this episode, or the entirety of this podcast for that matter, please hear me when I say this: There is no word or truth, no story or testimony, more important, of greater value, or which is more anointed, powerful, containing life-changing potential than the gospel of Jesus Christ. Download | Subscribe In this episode, Rev. Gibson discusses her lifelong love of reading, her admiration of educator and author Samuel Holt Monk, Nathan confronting King David, Midrash, and the lessons from the Bread of Life Discourse. Kind David needed the intervention of Nathan's Rich Man/Poor Man story of the Ewe to be enlightened about his abuse of power and sinful acts concerning Bathsheba and Uriah. Jesus taught his high concepts and holy ideas to his followers in simple stories and parables so they would be able to grasp his promise of "something more" with Him and the Bread of Life. Reading and hearing stories allows us a way to see ourselves in the mirror of narrative, events, and characters. This "seeing yourself" can aid us in the awareness of understanding our true selves and how we interact with the world around us. Am I the rich man, or the poor man? Am I the hero, or the villain? This reciprocal internal and external self-examination (and realization) from literature, more specifically scripture, has a name - Midrash. Midrash is not some "new age" spiritual trend; it's an age-old rabbinical teaching method of interpreting and learning from the people, context, and lessons found in Scripture. Midrash asks us to look deeper into our shared stories to find a personal connection from the written word to our modern daily lives. Rev. Gibson points out that Midrash is not just used with spiritual texts, educators like Samual Holt Monk also reveal this type of learning in their critical analysis and works of secular literature and satire. Knowing ourselves, uncovering our blind spots, or answering a spiritual question can come in many forms, but we must be open to hearing the truth. Are you listening and looking for these revelations in Scripture or any other literature? Seeing ourselves in the life of Jesus and imitating his actions are some big steps in walking in the Way of Christ. Realizing our actions that aren't like Christ are even bigger.
