What if the path you're on is slowly disconnecting you from your future self and your body is the first to notice? Hint: that happened to me…In this episode I'm sharing the one question that shifted how I viewed my life, career, and health. Back in 2021, I was grinding hard toward medical school while silently dealing with intense stress causing skin flare ups and gut discomfort. On paper, everything looked aligned. In my body, it couldn't be further from the truth. I started to realize that I wasn't living in alignment with my purpose but was too scared to admit it. Then a single question cracked me open…In this episode we dive into:- The physical and emotional signs that pointed me toward a much-needed career change- How honesty became the catalyst for my next wave of personal growth- The moment I realized I was chasing safety, not self-discovery- Why your purpose is more of an energy than a destination- How to spot the difference between aligned ambition and fear-based productivity- What it really means to live with a long-term life vision that excites you- Why holistic practices helped me trust myself through the process- I hope this can serve as a reminder that self reflection is a key step towards clarity. The more you learn about your blocks, the more ways you can grant yourself spaciousness.===The Flourish with Purpose Vault is your space to come home to your purpose and finally move forward with clarity and confidence. Mini-episodes of Elite Insights deliver actionable ideas to help leaders stay focused and make meaningful progress. In this episode you will learn how:• Quarterly reviews provide essential space to reflect on goals, priorities, and how time and energy are being allocated• High achievers often default to working harder when faced with challenges, rather than being strategic about capacity• Competing priorities like revenue goals and strategic expansion can create tension when approached with the same intensity• Intensity doesn't create instant results - dividing focus across too many priorities leads to overwhelm and feeling defeated• Some leaders over-rotate on new strategies while unintentionally stopping activities that generate immediate results• Consistency in both immediate priorities and future investments compounds over time• Four key questions to clarify priorities: What drives revenue now? What sets up future positioning? What can you sustainably commit to? Where are you spreading too thin?If you're feeling the pull between short-term goals and long-term growth and want a clear strategy to move forward with focus, let's talk. There are a lot of people that don't have the kind of talent that you do, Claude, or for that matter, I do and they have voices, but you can't hear them. So our job in the art world, I would say, is to amplify those voices in a way that's comprehensive and understandable by the folks who should be paying attention to what's going on around them and not talking at people. So my complaint these days at the art world is we're just talking at people, we're not listening to them. And if we did listen to them, you'll find that the world is actually quite a hopeful place. And then, in many respects, what Trump 2.0 is doing – is what Hazel Henderson was suggesting - is the soft path to change is collapse. He's exacerbating a situation that we've been hanging onto for perhaps far too long in even in the art world.Don Hill is a sound designer, immersive & multimedia artist, science journalist, broadcaster & public speaker. Don and I were both raised in Northern Ontario and are both sound based artists with a keen interest in technology and spirituality. I've have had long series of email exchanges over the years with Don about this podcast and my a calm presence Substack about some my doomist tendencies where Don often helped me considered more balanced points of view.
