This week's episode of Scrambling with Dylan Otto features Santa Clara University head coach Andrew Larkin. If you want to hear someone that is passionate about coaching and truly cares about their players then listen to Andrew Larkin's journey! It all started growing up in the Los Angeles area playing both golf and soccer. Larkin was passionate about both and went on to play both sports at Occidental College which is pretty rare to hear. Once he finished playing golf and soccer at Occidental, he got into coaching at his alma mater at the age of 22. He soon adapted to coaching and did a lot for the program at Occidental by raising money for a 2,500 square foot on-campus facility and much more. After his time at Occidental, he became the assistant coach at UCLA under Coach Freemen which he learned a ton from his years there. As most college coaches, Larkin wanted to become a head coach and he made sure that wherever he went that it'd the right fit. He's currently in his 3rd season as the head coach at Santa Clara and is loving every second of it! He's looking to develop the program to compete for WCC Championships and ultimately for NCAA National Titles. Enjoy the show!
On this episode, some of Tallahassee's finest are in the booth as V89 alumni Brett Rutherford and Ryan Kelly are joined by Andrew Larkin to discuss the winners, losers, and everything in between after last weekend's NFL Draft. Later, the guys express their thoughts on FSU Softball and Baseball's successful weekends, recap the first round of the NBA Playoffs, and preview the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Hi, folks! This episode is about Castle Waiting by Linda Medley, a cool comic we liked a lot. It's also the last episode we're doing for a while - Comic Adventures is going on an indefinite hiatus. That's right, folks! This week we discuss Andrew's favorite Marvel superhero, the one... the only... Carol Danvers, a.k.a Captain Marvel! Specifically, we're talking about the Higher, Further, Faster, More trade by Kelly Sue DeConnick, illustrated by David Lopez with colors by Lee Loughridge and letters by Joe Caramagna. Andrew specifically wanted to say this: Seriously folks, I love the character of Carol Danvers, in all of her complicated history. I feel like I didn't actually geek out enough while recording this episode. Like, I feel like I should have been more giddy with excitement. Anyway, since recording, I saw the movie and loved it, and I'm also going back and re-reading even more of Kelly Sue DeConnick's run writing this character and loving it. Carol is great because she's a feminist character without having to tell us in every panel "hey, I'm feminist" because SHE JUST IS. There was a lot of hate floating around out there ahead of the movie, particularly from a lot of men who somehow felt threatened by all the feminist rhetoric attached to the film and the character. Let me definitively say, you guys that were trying to sandbag this movie have completely missed the point. I hope my daughter grows up to be Carol Danvers. She's smart, she's capable, she doesn't take shit, and she's capable of listening to others. We should all be a bit more like Carol. Other things we talk about: Paper Girls by Brian K.
