Dr. Hoffman continues his conversation with Neil Levin, the Senior Nutrition Education Manager and a product formulator for NOW(r) Foods and Protocol for Life Balance.
Nutritional Support for Brain Health: Lifestyle, Curcumin, Magnesium, and Key Nootropics: Nutrition educator/formulator Neil Levin from Protocol for Life Balance details nutritional support for brain health amid skepticism about “brain-boosting” supplements, citing a preprint randomized controlled trial using a multifaceted lifestyle plan (diet, exercise, sleep) plus targeted supplementation that reportedly improved and even reversed symptoms in people with mild cognitive impairment. They contrast lifestyle strategies with costly, side-effect-prone injectable “plaque-buster” Alzheimer's drugs and notes debate about whether amyloid is a root cause or byproduct. The conversation highlights inflammation and oxidation as major aging-related brain threats and reviews supplements including a brain-targeted curcumin (discussing bioavailability, delivery methods, blood–brain barrier crossing, and claims of lowering beta-amyloid protein), magnesium L-threonate for CNS delivery, phosphatidylserine and acetylcholine support (including huperzine), ginkgo and gotu kola, glutamine/GABA pathways, creatine, omega-3s (DHA/EPA and algae sources), B vitamins, acetyl-L-carnitine, alpha-lipoic acid, and cocoa flavanols, plus concerns about supplement industry enforcement.
Are ADHD and autism purely genetic and neurological, or could oxidative stress be a missing piece of the puzzle? In this episode of the Naturally Nourished Podcast, we unpack the growing conversation around how excessive oxidative burden and low antioxidant status may influence brain chemistry, behavior, and symptom expression. We explore how modern inputs like environmental exposures, dietary patterns, metabolic stress, and toxin load can contribute to neurological inflammation and why looking upstream at root drivers can shift how we approach support strategies. We also break down what actually helps lower oxidative stress in practical, sustainable ways, from stabilizing blood sugar and prioritizing protein to increasing antioxidant-rich produce and targeted nutrient support. This conversation connects the dots between physiology and daily habits, giving you tangible tools to support neurological resilience, mood regulation, and cognitive function using food-as-medicine. In this episode of The Better Life, Dr. Pinkston sits down with Jaclyn Downs, MS, a certified functional genomics expert and author of Enhancing Fertility Through Functional Medicine. While many people have heard of the "MTHFR" gene, Jaclyn explains to Dr. Pinkston why that is only the tip of the iceberg. They delve into how functional genomics—the study of subtle genetic variations you can actually influence through diet and lifestyle—holds the key to solving chronic issues like infertility, anxiety, migraines, and poor detoxification. In this episode, you’ll learn: Genetics vs. Genomics: The difference between fixed mutations and "snips" (SNPs) that you can optimize with nutritional cofactors. The "Folate Trap": Why taking high doses of methylfolate can sometimes backfire if your B12 levels aren't addressed first. Beyond MTHFR: Why looking at the big picture (including pathways like glucuronidation and histamine metabolism) is vital for hormone health and longevity. Personalized Medicine: Why "automated" genetic reports often lead to "analysis paralysis" and why a customized, practitioner-led approach is essential. Environmental Triggers: How toxins, stress, and poor soil quality interact with your unique genetic blueprint. Whether you are struggling with unexplained infertility, chronic fatigue, or just want to optimize your "healthspan," this conversation provides a roadmap for using your DNA as a tool for empowerment rather than a source of fear.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Ever wake up after eight hours and still feel like your mind is wrapped? In this episode of Migraine Heroes Podcast, host Diane Ducarme unpacks why “sleep” and “recovery” are not the same thing — and why the brain needs true rest to restore blood flow, clear waste, and lift the fog that so many migraine-prone people live with.We explore how neuroscience and Eastern medicine both point toward the same truth: deep rest is nourishment. And when your brain doesn't get it, everything — focus, memory, mood, and migraine thresholds — begins to fray. You'll discover:
If you've been told your failed IVF cycle was "just bad luck" or blamed on "egg quality," that explanation is incomplete. Bad luck is not a diagnosis. It simply means the underlying biological patterns have not yet been identified. IVF is a technical process that happens in a lab, but embryos still develop inside a living biological environment. If inflammation, energy production, immune signaling, or sperm DNA integrity are compromised, no protocol change alone can override that physiology. Repeating cycles without deeper interpretation often leads to the same outcomes, higher costs, and more emotional exhaustion. In this episode, I walk through the three biological patterns I consistently see behind embryo arrest, poor blast development, failed transfers, and unexplained IVF failure. More importantly, you'll learn how to use your past cycles as meaningful data so you can stop guessing and start making more strategic decisions before another round. In this episode, you'll learn: Why a technically "perfect" IVF cycle can still fail despite good labs and protocols How low cellular energy production impacts embryo development and early growth Why sperm DNA fragmentation often matters long before clinics flag it as abnormal How oxidative stress, inflammation, hormonal signaling, and metabolic strain influence embryo quality How to interpret repeated IVF outcomes instead of labeling them as unexplained or bad luck I'm Sarah Clark, founder of Fab Fertile and host of Get Pregnant Naturally. For over a decade, my team and I have reviewed hundreds of low AMH and failed IVF cases using functional testing alongside conventional fertility care. We specialize in helping couples identify the physiological patterns driving poor outcomes so decisions are grounded in interpretation, not guesswork. This episode is for you if: You've experienced embryo arrest, failed transfers, or repeated IVF cycles without clear answers You've been told everything looks "normal" but results keep falling short You want a smarter way to evaluate what your body is signaling before investing in another cycle

Skin sagging, crepiness, and loss of bounce are often blamed on collagen loss, yet the real driver sits elsewhere in the skin's architecture. Elastin degradation accumulates quietly over time, shaping how skin functions long before changes fully register in the mirror. In this Biohacking Beauty episode, we unpack why rebuilding elastin is largely a myth, how elastin breakdown differs fundamentally from collagen loss, and how even a single period of stress can influence skin integrity for decades. We also examine how collagen is over-credited in conversations about sagging and how lasers and radiofrequency treatments can create temporary tightening while promoting long-term fibrotic remodeling that undermines true elasticity. Episode Description Can hair growth gummies, biotin, collagen, rosemary oil, and DHT blockers actually prove they work—or are you wasting money on underdosed formulas with zero human evidence while your hair continues thinning? Dr. Christian Gonzalez investigated the hair loss supplement industry with one critical question: which supplements have randomized controlled trials showing measurable improvements in hair density and shedding reduction—not just theoretical mechanisms and marketing logic? The shocking reality? Most hair supplements fail because they assume hair loss is about "feeding the hair" when it's really about removing the signals that tell follicles to shut down and shift from growth phase into shedding. The hidden failures in "hair growth" supplements: • Hair gummies and biotin formulas with no randomized trials showing actual density improvements in humans • Generic marine collagen marketed as "hair support" when only specific proprietary marine protein complexes show results • Pumpkin seed powders that strip away the lipid sterols responsible for DHT modulation • Saw palmetto whole berry claims without standardized lipid sterol extraction • Standard turmeric powder with 4% absorption instead of curcumin phytosome forms that reach your scalp • Generic "Vitamin E" using alpha-tocopherol when hair data is based on delta and gamma tocotrienols In this episode, Dr. Christian Gonzalez reveals: • The 5 supplements with actual human evidence for hair growth—ranked by evidence scores (7-8 out of 10) • Why Viviscal's proprietary marine protein complex (Amomar) has the strongest data but isn't the cleanest formulation • How cold-pressed pumpkin seed oil inhibits 5-alpha reductase and reduces DHT without crashing hormones systemically • The lipid sterol extract of saw palmetto that works—and why whole berry powder doesn't • How curcumin phytosome (Meriva, BCM-95) addresses chronic inflammation in the scalp environment • Why mixed tocotrienols protect follicles from oxidative stress better than standard vitamin E • Exact evidence-based doses, realistic timelines (3-6 months minimum), and specific brands Dr. G trusts My one stop shop for quality supplements: https://theswellscore.com/pages/drg Timestamps: 0:00 - Why Most Hair Supplements Fail (3 Critical Reasons) 2:26 - #1: Marine Protein Complex (Viviscal) for Hair Density 4:29 - Forms Matter: How to Buy Quality Marine Complex 6:30 - #2: Pumpkin Seed Oil for DHT Modulation 8:29 - Cold-Pressed vs Powder: Why Forms Matter for Androgens 10:05 - #3: Saw Palmetto Extract for Follicle Protection 12:46 - #4: Curcumin Phytosome for Scalp Inflammation 15:43 - #5: Tocotrienols (Vitamin E Complex) for Oxidative Stress 18:16 - Final Takeaways: Stop Wasting Money on Hair Loss Hype
Send us a textCellular metabolism, mitochondrial health, and the roles of diet and environment in metabolic health, fetal & child development, and Alzheimer's.TOPICS DISCUSSED:Cellular growth vs. burning: Cells alternate between growing (using glucose for building blocks in low-oxygen environments) and burning (generating ATP in mitochondria with oxygen); dysregulation leads to metabolic issues.Key regulatory enzymes: PI3 kinase imports glucose, AMP kinase builds mitochondria, and mTOR drives cell division; their synchronization determines healthy modes, while desynchronization causes diseases.Fructose as a dose-dependent mitochondrial toxin: High fructose intake inhibits AMP kinase, reducing mitochondrial function and diverting energy to fat storage; it is dose-dependent, like alcohol, and unnecessary in the diet.Obesogens & endocrine disruptors: Chemicals like tributyltin (TBT) alter gene expression across generations, promoting obesity unrelated to calories; modern exposures increase reactive oxygen species (ROS), burdening cells.Fetal & neonatal development: Maternal diet, especially high sugar or formula feeding, can cause neonatal obesity and fatty liver; breastfeeding supports proper jaw development and oxygen intake.Brain metabolism & Alzheimer's: The brain's high energy needs make it vulnerable to mitochondrial issues and ROS; energy deficits from diet, stress, and toxins lead to synapse loss and inflammation, treatable via prevention.ROS & health: Mitochondria produce ROS as a byproduct of ATP generation; excess from diet or environment causes damage, but antioxidants and lifestyle can mitigate risks.PRACTICAL TAKEAWAYS:Limit added sugars in your diet to reduce mitochondrial stress and ROS, focusing on whole foods over ultra-processed items for better metabolic health.Prioritize breastfeeding for infants when possible to support proper physical development and reduce future metabolic risks.Incorporate regular exercise and social activities to manage stress and boost brain-protective factors like BDNF, aiding neurodegeneration prevention.Get adequate sleep to regulate cortisol and maintain cellular energy balance, helping prevent brain fog and chronic diseases.ABOUT THE GUEST: Robert Lustig, MD is a pediatric endocrinologist and Professor Emeritus at the University of California, San Francisco, with a background in neuroendocrinology and obesity research.*Not medical advice.Support the showAffiliates: Lumen device to optimize your metabolism for weight loss or athletic performance. Many listeners have been curious about exosomes, and this episode offers a simple, science-based foundation for understanding them. We explore what exosomes are, how they act as communication packets between cells, and why they play such an important role in skin rejuvenation. We walk through the three main categories of exosomes found in skincare, plant, stem cell, and platelet-derived, and discuss how each behaves differently inside the skin. We explain what happens when cellular signals weaken with age, what we've learned through PRP and regenerative medicine, and why not every exosome speaks the same biological language. We also touch on dose, purity, and consistency, which shape how effective an exosome formula can be.This episode gives listeners a clear, approachable starting point for navigating this rapidly growing area of skincare and understanding what truly supports long-term repair. As founders of Young Goose Skincare, we focus on bringing advanced regenerative science into everyday skincare through education and clinically guided innovation. We Also Discuss:(00:00) Integrating Dermatology, Health Optimization, and Longevity Medicine(04:38) How Skin Both Reflects and Influences Systemic Health(08:39) The Connection Between Stress, Cortisol, and Skin Function(10:17) Clarifying Sunscreen Science, Hormonal Changes, and Menopause(13:51) Defining True Prejuvenation and the Role of Softwave Technology(19:40) Exploring RLX201 (ReQ) and Innovations in Skin Longevity(32:20) Linking Inflammation, Oxidative Stress, and Visible Aging(37:56) Applying Critical Thinking to the Future of Longevity Medicine(46:18) Rethinking Fillers, Structural Balance, and Subtle Aesthetic Enhancement(58:42) Building Longevity Habits for Lifelong Skin HealthFind more from Young Goose:VAMPIRE EXOSOMES → Professional Exosome Serum for Regeneration and Post-Treatment Recovery → Vampire ExosomesUse code PODCAST10 to get 10% off your first purchase, and if you're a returning customer use the code PODCAST5 to get 5% off at https://www.younggoose.com/ Instagram: @young_goose_skincare
Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Stephen: Hi Dr. Cabral, I wanted to get your thoughts on a supplement called Protandim — a product marketed to reduce oxidative stress by activating Nrf2, support cellular repair, and promote detoxification and gene regulation. The company claims it's backed by dozens of peer-reviewed studies, but most of the research has been done in animals or cell cultures, and the few human studies show mixed results. Online opinions seem polarized — some call it a marketing gimmick, while others swear by it — so it's been difficult to find balanced, evidence-based perspectives. I'd love to hear your assessment — whether you've had any experience with it in your practice, what results (if any) you've observed, and whether you'd consider it a science-supported supplement worth considering. Sarah: Hey doc! I've been rebounding/vibration plate/dry brushing consistently for over 2 years now. I also sauna once every week or so. When Im rebounding I notice that I get a pain in my left collar bone. I always massage the area before and after. I thought after rebounding for this long the pain might go away. Its not so painful but its uncomfortable and im wondering if this is anything to be concerned about? My partner recently tried rebounding and he said he felt pain also. We've done a bunch of detoxes, CBO, mold etc, both walk alot and exercise and generally pretty healthy. Bryan: Hi Dr. C, I was wondering if you had any thoughts or opinions on Kratom. I've heard you discuss nicotine, cannabis and various other psychedelics on your podcast and their "potential" medicinal benefits but never heard you mention Kratom. Do you have any opinions on this plant? More harm than good? Just curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks, Anthony: Hi Doctor Cabral, THANK YOU for all you do. Our 12 year old son seems to have red bags under his eyes more often than we think he should. He also has a small patch of warts on his upper forehead, a slightly bigger wart on the top of his foot and a small patch of bumps on his upper forearm hear his elbow. We had his blood work done taken and it came back with no issues. We also had a food sensitivity test done = IgE Allergy High is cashew, flax seed, green pea, lima bean, navy bean, and his IgG Sensitivity highs being turkey, with many moderate foods on both the allergy and sensitivity sides. Just wondering what your input would be. Thank you Anthony Anonymous: Hi Dr. Cabral, I truly resonate with your philosophy of addressing the root cause rather than masking symptoms. I've listened to all your podcasts and read your book, and I really appreciate your holistic approach. I'm also an IHP2. My question is about blood sugar imbalances. Most natural health books I've read on this topic tend to focus on symptom management through low-carb diets. Nutritionist Leyla Muedin details a study on the effects of vitamins C and E supplementation in older women with sarcopenia. The study, published in the journal Medicine, found that combining 1000 mg of vitamin C and 335 mg of vitamin E with a 12-week resistance training program significantly improved muscle mass, strength, and certain blood parameters compared to a placebo group. The benefits were attributed to the alleviation of oxidative stress and inflammation. Leyla underscores the importance of adequate animal protein intake to optimize resistance training outcomes.

Send us a textMost wellness advice tries to stamp out oxidative stress. We make a different case: the right dose of stress is the signal that builds resilience. From the first snowfall chat to a deep dive on electrons, mitochondria, and energy flow, we walk through how redox balance—reduction and oxidation—is the unseen driver of better fitness, metabolism, and healthy aging. Rather than drowning your cells in pharmacologic antioxidant doses, we show why whole foods, intelligent training, and hormetic practices switch on the body's superior, built-in defenses. We break down how reactive oxygen species act as messengers that activate NRF2 and tune NF kappa B, leading to stronger antioxidant enzymes like superoxide dismutase, catalase, and glutathione. You'll hear why studies on high-dose vitamin A, E, and isolated polyphenols have disappointed or even backfired, and how funding bias confuses the supplement hype cycles. We connect these insights to practical levers: balancing training intensity to avoid chronic overreach, using time-restricted eating to spur ketone-driven repair, and introducing sauna, cold exposure, and real daylight to enhance mitochondrial function and recovery.Food-first takes center stage. We discuss the risks of seed oils and excessive polyunsaturated fats on membrane stability and oxidative load, plus simple swaps toward olive oil, avocado, and nutrient-dense whole foods. Micronutrients like selenium, zinc, and sulfur amino acids matter because they power your endogenous antioxidant systems. We've always said that healthy skin starts from within, but few people understand how deeply skin and longevity are connected. Every wrinkle, blemish, or loss of elasticity begins with inflammation and cellular stress that ripple throughout the body.In this episode, we sit down with world-renowned dermatologist Dr. Doris Day to explore how the skin doesn't just reflect your health, it drives it. From managing inflammation to restoring collagen through sleep, nutrition, and resistance training, Dr. Day reveals why true skin longevity starts at the cellular level. We also discuss the rise of prejuvenation, the science behind Softwave and exosomes, and how new molecules like RLX201 (ReQ) are changing the way we approach aging. Nutritionist Leyla Muedin focuses on a new perspective in Alzheimer's research, particularly the role of microglial cells. She reveals insights from integrative neurologist Dr. David Perlmutter's presentation at the Integrative Healthcare Symposium, emphasizing the significance of microglial cells in Alzheimer's disease. The discussion highlights the traditional focus on beta amyloid plaques and introduces the importance of shifting from the M1 pro-inflammatory phenotype to the M2 anti-inflammatory phenotype of microglial cells. Dr. Perlmutter advocates for addressing systemic metabolic and inflammatory issues, pointing out factors like poor diet, lack of sleep, and high blood sugar, which are crucial in preventing Alzheimer's. The episode delves into lifestyle interventions such as ketogenic diets, fasting, and nutritional impacts to manage and potentially reverse the detrimental shift in microglial behavior.
Dr. Hoffman continues his conversation with clinical pharmacist, author, board-certified clinical nutritionist, and health expert Jim LaValle on the many health benefits of aged garlic extract.

He also highlights the role of aged garlic extract in reducing inflammation and improving gum health, which in turn has significant implications for cardiovascular and cognitive health. The conversation also touches on various formulations of aged garlic extract available from Kyolic, the importance of integrative approaches to health and wellness, and updates on the latest trends in anti-aging medicine, including peptides and GLP-1 agonists.
What if the reason you keep saying "I'm fine" isn't about denial or stubbornness—but about your nervous system being programmed to avoid looking at problems because looking feels too dangerous? In this mini episode, Dr. Aimie Apigian explores the powerful story Dr. Tom O'Bryan shared about Ray—a beloved janitor who said "I'm fine" for three years until the day he finally agreed to testing, pulled over on his way home, and died. This tragic story reveals something critical about trauma: avoidance isn't just psychological, it's a biological survival response. And it's creating a dangerous feedback loop where the very act of avoiding health problems generates more cellular damage through oxidative stress. This episode unpacks why trauma makes us afraid to look at our health, how this avoidance creates the exact biology that makes our problems worse, and most importantly—how to break free from the "I'm fine syndrome" through baby steps and biology repair. In this episode you'll hear more about: The "I'm fine syndrome": How Ray's story illustrates the deadly cost of health avoidance, and why so many people refuse testing even when symptoms are clear—it's not about money or time, it's about fear The first step of trauma: Understanding that avoidance is actually Step 1 of the body's instinctual trauma response (the startle), where blocking our threat assessment tells our body danger is real and escalates the survival response The oxidative damage cascade: Dr. Tom's powerful mousetrap analogy—976,000 mousetraps on a football field, one ping pong ball creating a cascade reaction of "pop, pop, pop"—exactly what's happening inside your cells when you avoid addressing health problems The avoidance-damage feedback loop: How saying "I'm fine" while avoiding health assessments creates more oxidative stress, which damages cells and DNA, which creates more danger signals, which makes you want to avoid even more—a vicious cycle driving disease development Why glyphosate matters for your future family: The shocking research showing 74% of men at fertility centers have glyphosate in their blood, with 300% higher levels in their semen, causing oxidative damage to sperm DNA that leads to 40% increased miscarriage rates and contributes to the autism epidemic (1 in 12 boys in California) The trauma-toxin connection: How stored trauma and toxic chemicals create the same biology—both generate oxidative stress that damages your mitochondria, immune system, and DNA, which is why trauma and toxins always go together as "sisters" or "best friends" Base hits win the ball game: Dr. Tom's strategy for men (and everyone) who feel overwhelmed—allocate one hour per week to learn about ONE health topic, make ONE change, and watch how baby steps transform your health in six months without trying to hit home runs The essential supplements for oxidative stress: What Dr. Tom takes when flying (GS packs with 22 nutrients) and what Dr. Aimie uses (vitamin C, NAC, and injectable NAD) to combat radiation exposure and cellular damage from travel and daily life The Total Tox Burden and Oxidative Stress Profile: The two tests everyone should know about to assess their cellular damage and toxic load before trying to start a family—and why being proactive prevents a lifetime of grief Why "I'm fine" is actually "I'm frozen": Understanding that health avoidance is your nervous system's way of protecting you from feeling powerless, but recognizing this pattern is the first step to building the courage to look and take action The three phases of safe detoxification: Why you must resource your body first, open drainage pathways second, and only then use active binders—jumping straight to celery juice or fasting can actually retraumatize your system The antioxidant repair toolkit: Starting with the fundamentals (vitamin C at 1,000mg, selenium at 200mcg, NAC at 2,000mg daily) plus lifestyle tools like red-light therapy, outdoor morning walks, colorful fruits and vegetables, and optimizing sleep in complete darkness The energy to leave toxic relationships: Why people can't leave toxic environments until they have the biological energy to do so—supporting the body's detoxification and energy production creates the capacity to clear out emotional toxins too 77% and 1 in 12: The devastating statistics that should wake us up—77% of military-age Americans are ineligible to serve due to obesity or cognitive decline, and 1 in 12 boys in California are diagnosed on the autism spectrum by age four, both driven by our toxic environment and the biology of trauma Your body isn't broken—it's trying to protect you from the pain of looking at what feels dangerous. But here's the truth: every moment you avoid looking at your health while saying "I'm fine," you're accumulating more oxidative damage. You're literally rusting from the inside. The good news? You don't have to take the whole mountain in one step. Baby steps—or as Dr. Tom says, base hits—win the ball game. Start with one hour a week. Start with basic antioxidant support. Start with getting curious instead of afraid. Your body has been waiting for you to look with compassion instead of fear.

Send us a textThe biological roots of sleep are tied to mitochondrial metabolism.Episode Summary: Dr. Gero Miesenböck discusses the evolutionary and metabolic basis of sleep, exploring how mitochondrial energy production in neurons, particularly in fruit flies, drives the need for sleep to manage harmful byproducts like reactive oxygen species and lipid peroxides. They discuss how sleep-inducing neurons sense these byproducts, the role of mitochondrial dynamics, and the broader implications for why all animals, from jellyfish to humans, require sleep. The conversation also touches on how body size and metabolism influence sleep needs across species.About the guest: Gero Miesenböck, MD is a professor of physiology at the University of Oxford, renowned for his pioneering work in optogenetics and his research on the neurobiology of sleep using fruit flies and mice.Discussion Points:Sleep is universal across animals, even in jellyfish without centralized brains, suggesting a fundamental metabolic purpose tied to mitochondrial energy production.Mitochondria produce energy efficiently using oxygen but generate reactive oxygen species that can damage cells through lipid peroxidation, necessitating sleep to repair this damage.Sleep-inducing neurons in fruit flies contain sensors that track lipid peroxidation products, acting like a digital memory to signal when sleep is needed.Smaller animals with faster metabolisms, like mice, require more sleep and have shorter lifespans due to higher oxygen consumption and oxidative stress.Mitochondrial diseases in humans often cause intense tiredness, likely due to increased electron leaks in the mitochondrial energy production process. The evolutionary origin of sleep likely stems from the oxygen revolution 2.5 billion years ago, enabling complex life but requiring mechanisms like sleep to manage metabolic side effects.Caloric restriction reduces sleep need by lowering the production of harmful metabolic byproducts, supporting the link between metabolism and sleep.Reference paper:Study: Mitochondrial origins of the pressure to sleepRelated content:M&M 12: Organisms, Cities, Companies & the Science of Scale | Geoffrey West*Not medical advice.Support the showAffiliates: Seed Oil Scout: Find restaurants with seed oil-free options, scan food products to see what they're hiding, with this easy-to-use mobile app. KetoCitra—Ketone body BHB + electrolytes formulated for kidney health. On this episode of Vitality Radio, Jared dives deep into one of the most overlooked yet essential nutrients: vitamin B1, also known as thiamine. While other B vitamins often take the spotlight, B1 is critical for energy production, nerve function, and overall resilience. Jared explains why not all forms of B1 are created equal, highlighting the difference between standard water-soluble versions and the more bioavailable fat-soluble forms such as benfotiamine and sulbutiamine. You'll learn how benfotiamine supports nerve health and circulation, while sulbutiamine penetrates the brain to deliver steady energy and focus without the jitters or crash of stimulants. Drawing from history, research, and his own formulating experience, Jared shares how these powerful forms of B1 help protect against sugar damage, reduce oxidative stress, and enhance everyday vitality.
