There was a time when monogamy and marriage with 2 children and the house with a white picket fence was the only real option women felt they had. But times are changing and that's just not really a fact anymore. More and more women and couples are choosing to have a relationship that includes consensual non-monogamy. Recently I discussed this with Angela Skurtu, a marriage and sex therapist from St Louis. That has turned into one of my most listened to shows and highly ranked on my iTunes page. In this show, she's back and we'll discuss why more women are choosing non-monogamy.

Join me today for an interview with author Angela Skurtu. Angela is a licensed marriage therapist and an AASECT certified sex therapist. She is also the co-host of the About Sex Podcast! I knew she sounded familiar. Today, we discuss her book, Helping Couples Overcome Infidelity: A Therapist's Manual. In it, she shares all the trade secrets of how she guides people through the theraputic process. We also discuss how an infidelity can sometimes save a failing marriage. Yes, really. A common side-effect of a betrayal is a revitalization of your sex life by forcing the conflict out in the open, making a couple deal with their problems. This can create a territorial sexual response. Angela does not suggest infidelity as a fix to a failing marriage or sex life, but gives some great alternatives in our interview. I also ask her if she ever cheated on her husband. Yes, I actually asked that. I am so incorrigible... Tune in to find out her answer and get all the salacious details! -Josh About Us: www.aboutsexpodcast.com Angela Skurtu is a licensed marriage and family therapist and an AASECT certified sex therapist. In the 1980's, an HIV diagnosis was equitable to getting a death sentence. No treatments existed and scientists knew very little about the virus. Today, with advances in education and research, it is not only a preventable disease, but treatments exist that make living with the disease much more manageable. Join us today as we also discuss Truvada, the treatment used in "pre-exposure prophylaxis". Truvada is a pill that patients can take daily to reduce the chance of HIV infection. Some other interesting things we discuss on this episode include how often people actually use condoms, ways that condoms can fail, dangers of lambskin condoms, latex allergies, STI transmission methods other than during penetrative sex, and much more. Our guest this week is O. John and he is a very interesting person. His body is adorned in almost every corner with tattoos, including his chest, arms, back, legs, and his penis. Yes, I said his penis. I did not verify this, but he says he has Japanese style waves around the shaft and plans to get a rose tattooed on the head in the near future. Feel free to verify on your own time. ;-) This link has some photos of O. John in the partial nude, so you can see some of his tattoos while you listen along. Beware that the link is NSFW. The photos are not graphic, but do contain some veiled nudity. O. John lives bit of a wild life. During the day, he works a white-collared job. On the side, he has worked as a Buck Naked Handyman, been a part of a gay men's nudist group in San Francisco, and performs nude or mostly nude at parties, sometimes as a door greeter. (Not at Wal-Mart. They require more than a thong as a uniform.) Yes, a Buck Naked Handyman means he comes to your home and works around the house while wearing nothing at all. I wonder how that works out when he has to use a skill-saw. Splinters can be a bitch. He is very comfortable in his skin and very comfortable with his sexuality and joined us to share his story. We learned a lot of new terms, including what a JO show is! Listen in to find out what it is. (Don't Google it!) We hope you can join us for a fun and educational episode. About our Guest: O.
