Joey Meneses was the star at the plate in Game 1, where Washington clobbered Philly 13-4, as he had hit a bases clearing double and his 13th HR of the season. Mark & Al discuss the next chapter of his post trade deadline magic carpet ride. (12:10) Luis Garcia had 3 hits and drove in 5 runs on Saturday afternoon. Hear what former National he might be comparable to. However, Garcia made a poor defensive decision in the 1st inning and his double play partner CJ Abrams, has committed 3 errors already in this series. Abrams offensively though had a great game as he gathered 3 hits and made a crucial hustle play in the victory. (26:45) The Nationals called up Tommy Romero from AAA and his outing did not go well in Game 2, an 8-2 Philadelphia triumph. Romero allowed 5 HRs in under 4 innings as he struggled mightily on the mound. Kyle Schwarber homered twice off of him, giving him a NL leading 44 home runs. (34:15) The series finale is scheduled for 1:35pm on Sunday in D.C. Weather again could be an issue and given Philadelphia's playoff situation, it could be a long day at the ballpark. The Nats ended their difficult season series against Miami with a 6-1 victory on Sunday. Mark (Live from Florida) & Al begin by acknowledging that the Nationals will avoid the dubious distinction of 110 losses this year. 9.2.2022 Hour 1 1:00 - Grant & Danny open the show looking back at last night's Nats game, where Joey Meneses continues to impress as capped a 4 for 6 performance with a Homerun that sent the Nats into their first Walkoff win of the year.  21:00 - Jarrett Bailey of USA Today joined the show a few days ago explaining why he thinks the Commanders win the NFC East at 10-7. Grant & Danny ask you to write the script for how the Commanders end up winning 10 games in 2022. 

The Nats topped Oakland 7-5 in extras for their first walk-off win of the season as "Joey Four Bags" crushed a 3 run shot in the bottom of the 10th. Al & Tim discuss the next chapter in the unlikely story that is Joey Meneses as he now has seven homers since being called up a month ago. Meneses on Thursday had four hits and is hitting a whopping .354 with Washington. (16:10) The other unexpected August addition, Ildemaro Vargas, had a RBI single to tie the game in the bottom of the 8th. He also filled in admirably at shortstop on CJ Abrams' day off.
