John Schlitt and Benny DiChiara are blessed with distinctive rock and roll voices. They realize they have God-given gifts and they are using them to spread His Gospel. In this podcast, they both reveal their desire is to spread the love of Jesus to as many as possible because they believe we are living in the end times.John Schlitt has never worked harder in music than now. He has been singing with Petra for the last couple of years on their 50th Anniversary Tour, recording and performing with the Jay Sekulow Band. But early in his career he almost lost everything including his life. He says, “God saved me but not my career. I went from rockstar to floor sweeper. But God then gave me a second chance to use my gift for his glory. If we each us our gift for the Lord, He will amplify it manyfold. “Benny DiChiara shares a powerful story of a recent performance with his band “Empowered.” In the middle of the third song, they had a major technical problem. As the sound man scrambled to fix the problem, Benny asked the audience if anyone needed prayer. What happened next was life-changing for the band and the person needing prayer. “Dead space on stage kills and dead space in your life kills as well. God took ten minutes of our concert to change lives,” Benny explains. Don't miss this powerful backstage podcast with two of Christian rock's most influential voices. How can we encounter Yahweh Nissi and experience God as the banner over our lives? Join today's multi-talented celebrity guest, Benny DiChiara for an empowering episode of Flourish-Meant, where we explore faith, resilience, and encountering the presence of God in our lives. In this episode, our host Tina Yeager invites Benny DiChiara, singer-songwriter, recording artist, businessman, motivational speaker, and father, to share his extraordinary message and personal journey of healing and purpose. Benny's story is one of remarkable recovery. After experiencing a traumatic brain injury that could have ended his career and life, Benny found himself in a period of recovery, sleeping for 20 hours a day and struggling to speak correctly. During this challenging time, Benny relied on prayer and sought God's guidance. In the midst of his journey, Benny encountered Yahweh Nissi, the powerful and victorious name of God. In the second month of his recovery, Benny heard God's voice speaking to him, inspiring him to create an album called "Three Days." Now, through his newest album, Yahweh Nissi, Benny beautifully conveys messages reminding us that our purpose in life is not based on our own preconceived notions, but on serving God's divine plan. During the episode, Benny and Tina delve into the significance of Jesus' suffering, his ultimate sacrifice on the cross, and the promise of his resurrection. They discuss how connecting with the truth of Jesus' victory brings strength and helps us overcome pain, sorrow, and confusion. Benny opens up about his personal journey, the impact of his father's passing, and finding comfort in the assurance of seeing loved ones again in heaven. His experiences have led him to deeply understand the importance of knowing our true identity in Christ and discovering God-given gifts and talents. Moreover, Benny shares insights into his current song "Yahweh Nissi," which serves as a battle cry for Christians to speak out against evil and to fight against anti-biblical ideologies. This powerful anthem embodies a call to unity and an unwavering trust in God's deliverance. Throughout the episode, Benny emphasizes the importance of focusing on God and not being distracted by worldly thoughts. He encourages listeners to trust in God's provision and to fully embrace and utilize the unique purpose and talents God has blessed them with. Additionally, Benny discusses his close connection with Children's Cup, a ministry founded by Brother Dave Olerking that supports needy children in Africa and other nations around the world. Benny's passion for helping others led him to dedicate a portion of his merchandise sales to this incredible cause, exemplifying his commitment to making a difference in the world. Today I sit down and talk to Benny DiChiara , the Frontman and minister of the Baton Rouge's Christian Rock Band Empowered! Singer/songwriter/survivor Benny DiChiara has a powerful testimony of God's mercy and healing that he loves to share. And he has been sharing it all over the world--most recently on national and international media outlets including The 700 Club, Cornerstone Television Network's flagship show, Hope Today, The NRB Network's award-winning TV show Babbie's House, and many more. DiChiara is the founder and frontman of the indie Christian rock band Empowered, whose latest EP, Three Days, has garnered seven No. 1's over the past year. In June 2021, the title cut from the band's latest project, Three Days, hit No. 1 on IndieGospel.net's Top 20 Chart. At the same time, "Rock Bottom," the third single from the album, debuted on the same chart at No. 7, making it the third single from the album to enter these charts. In addition to the band's latest No. 1, their “Listen to the Children” single reached the No. 1 spot on Indiegospel.net's Top 20 chart in December 2020. Their “Three Days” music video has reached the No. 1 spot on the IndieGospel.net Top 10 video chart three times: in December 2020, January 2021, and again in April 2021. Their “Listen to the Children” music video has reached the No. 1 spot twice, debuting at No. 1 on the IndieGospel.net Top 10 video chart in September 2020 and hit No. 1 again in January 2021. Songs from the album have also done well on Spotify, with “Listen to the Children” impacting with 93,519 spins, “Three Days” reaching 55,631, “Jeremiah 29:11” garnering 51,370, and “Rock Bottom” already coming in with 53,652 spins. This gives DiChiara & Empowered a total of 254,172 spins from the album Three Days. A New Orleans native, DiChiara wears multiple hats as a singer, songwriter, businessman, and motivational speaker. Having come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ later in life, the U.S. Navy vet first fronted a secular rock band before surrendering his music to ministry. When a traumatic brain injury nearly took his life and his capacity to create music, it was his faith that helped him navigate the long, often winding road to recovery. Today, DiChiara puts that experience to use as he shares God's goodness with others through word and song. DiChiara's band, Empowered, is comprised of DiChiara (lead vocals and songwriting), Shane Madere Jr. (lead guitarist, backing vocalist), Jeff Maddox (bass and background vocals), Mic Capdeville (percussion and background vocals), and Justin Burdette (guitarist and background vocals). DiChiara and Empowered are proud to contribute to the work of the non-profit organization, Children's Cup (childrenscup.org). DiChiara has recently landed multiple high-profile media appearances, including The 700 Club, Babbie's House, and Cornerstone TV's flagship show, Hope Today, CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ), and Inspiration.org, among many others. Three Days was the band's first release since DiChiara nearly lost his life to a traumatic brain injury. His journey of healing makes the accomplishments of 2020 and 2021 all the more significant. for more in on the band please visit www.rockin4jesus.com

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11This familiar scripture is the rallying cry for our guest in today's episode. Benny DiChiara suffered a TBI (traumatic brain injury) in 2015. No one knows exactly what caused him to lose consciousness and hit his head when he fell. But it put him in his place, and gave him time to rest and think on what he really should be doing with his life. After hearing a call (literally) to form a new band, he wrote the lyrics for a song based on Jeremiah 29:11. Empowered has proven to be immensely popular with the youth, and shares God's love through their music. And although Benny lost his sense of taste in the aftermath of his fall in 2015, he certainly didn't lose his zany sense of humor, as you'll hear in this episode! In this episode with Benny, you'll learn:-The "incredible accident" which brought a new awareness of God's grace...03:00-God spoke to Benny while recovering from his accident...11:15-How a lifetime church attender finally found a personal relationship with Jesus...17:11-Understand the real story of those who appear to be "successful"...25:03-The story behind Benny's new album Yahweh Nissi...28:00-"If people don't feel Jesus when we're performing, we need to just quit"...34:35-How Benny got involved with Children's Cup ministries...37:20-One thing about Benny most people don't know...42:00-And much more...Resources mentioned:Rockin 4 Jesus websiteChildren's Cup ministriesGuest's bio and social handles:Instagram: @benny777 and @empowered_rockin4jesusFacebookBenny DiChiara is not fragile, yet he understands the fragility of life. He is not lost, but he knows the aimless paths of those who wander. He is not a victim, but he has experienced life-saving salvation from the inside out. His world has been shaken, but his feet are planted firmly on the strongest of foundations. And even as he faced an abyss of the unknown, he never did so alone. In October 2015, the singer, songwriter, businessman, motivational speaker, father, and husband endured a traumatic brain injury (TBI) that placed his life and future in peril. A fall sent him to the emergency room and ICU with a concussion and closed fracture of the skull base with subarachnoid, subdural, and extradural hemorrhage. The catastrophic injury could have easily ended his life or, at the least, compromised the quality of it. "I absolutely remember nothing from the first month after my injury," he shares. "It's just gone. Once I started to come out of it, there were memory gaps, speech issues, and walking issues. Everything looked surreal." The battle for his life and mind was not easy or quick. Amid the struggle, though, he clung to the knowledge that the battle for his heart had already been won. "I liken the experience to someone who is just lost, who feels like they cannot find their way," he shares. "You have no answers. But then there's Jesus." Hand-in-hand with his Savior, DiChiara not only defied medical odds; he discovered and plumbed the depths of burgeoning creative inspiration that merged into the most recent EP from his band, Empowered, entitled Three Days. "As I recovered, the injury did not affect my ability to make music," he shares. "I was afraid I would lose that gifting. Instead, He has elevated that gift."...
Benny DiChiara was so much fun in the previous episode that Dan, Brian and Terry asked him to join for a second episode to talk more about how God has called him to be A Voice in the Midst of Tragedy! Tune in to hear how God miraculously healed him from a traumatic brain injury and took him to a much deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. When founder of Empowered Music Benny DiChiara suddenly fainted and fell backwards in October 2015, his head hit the floor so hard it sounded like a gunshot went off. When Benny woke up, he remembered all the training he received as a Navy corpsman medic. Instead of lying down, he immediately went to the ICU where doctors discovered a double fracture on the back of his skull along with a frontal lobe crush causing the permanent loss of Benny’s sense of taste and smell. The traumatic brain injury should have ended his singing career and even his life. However, God performed a miracle and Benny astonished doctors with a rapid and nearly full recovery. During his healing process, God told Benny his testimony would be used to spread the gospel and gave him the lyrics to the song “Jeremiah 29:11” in a matter of minutes. http://www.rockin4jesus.com NRB Interview from the Expo Floor NRB 2021 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Benny DiChiara's life changed in an instant one morning in October 2015. He had fallen asleep on the couch after staying up late watching news about the upcoming election. At 6:30 am, the alarm on his phone went off, but the phone was in the bedroom. DiChiara stood up from the couch when he saw his wife, Donna, walk into the living room, holding his phone out to him. And then … nothing. DiChiara was on the floor. Horizontal. Unconscious. The neurosurgeons at the hospital later asked Donna how DiChiara caught himself? Her reply, “He didn't.” The bewildered doctors followed up, “Didn't he grab for something?” Donna's answer: “No.” “My wife told me that when my head hit the wood floor it sounded like a gunshot,” DiChiara stated.
