In this episode, I sit down with my dear friend Heidi Rose, a woman whose story will move you, stretch you, and break you open in all the ways that matter. Heidi lost her husband, Jason, to brain cancer, and the journey there was anything but simple. We talk about the night he passed, how their children processed it, and what it means to grieve, rebuild, and keep living. But this conversation goes deeper than loss. Heidi speaks about her healing through trauma, through childhood abuse, and through unconventional paths like EMDR, Al-Anon, and plant medicine. She talks about finding her voice, regaining peace, and learning that real love sometimes means letting go.This episode is for anyone who's walked through pain they never thought they'd survive. It's for those navigating grief, complex family dynamics, or simply trying to find meaning when life doesn't go to plan. You'll walk away from this episode changed. Husband-and-wife music duo, Kenny and Claire Hilliard both grew up in the upstate of South Carolina before God took them the long way around to finally settle in Nashville, TN. Shortly after successful surgery to remove the tumor, Kenny received a second diagnosis, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome—a degenerative genetic disease that left him temporarily impaired. The couple embraced a return to music during Kenny's recovery, founding a music teaching studio and penning modern hymns for their home congregation. Kenny and Claire also share some of their travel experiences from being on the road six months of the year touring with their 3 kids in an RV across the country. What if love was more than a feeling — what if love was a frequency that could heal, transform, and even perform miracles? In this deeply moving episode of the HEAL with Kelly Podcast, I sit down with Danette Wolpert Holman, visionary filmmaker and founder of the ILLUMINATE Film Festival. She shares her extraordinary journey through not one, but two “one-in-a-million” health events — first her own, then her husband's — that forever shifted her understanding of healing, surrender, and the true nature of reality. Danette opens up about preparing for brain surgery through a year of deep emotional release work, energy healing, and spiritual exploration. Rooted in the belief that illness carries a message, she leaned fully into the mind-body connection, releasing what no longer served her and stepping into her power with clarity and grace. When her husband Drew was later diagnosed with a different, rare, life-threatening brain tumor, Danette activated every healing resource she could — surrounding him with intention, prayer, and unwavering love. The result? A second 1% miracle. This episode is a powerful testament to the limitless potential of healing, the transformative force of conscious media, and what becomes possible when we remember who we truly are. And Danette and her husband's stories just might give us the recipe to activating miracles in our own life. This episode is a must listen!! Come see Danette and me at the ILLUMINATE Film Festival, where I'll be joining a panel discussion. Known as the world's premier festival for conscious cinema, ILLUMINATE showcases transformational films that awaken, inspire, and empower. Story at-a-glance Research has identified a unique genetic mutation in brain tumors of firefighters directly linked to flame retardant chemicals, with more mutations appearing after longer exposure periods Chemicals found in flame retardants damage genes regulating cell growth, causing aggressive brain tumors like glioma that lead to severe disability if untreated Everyday household items including furniture, electronics and children's products contain these same toxic chemicals, putting families at risk from low-level but persistent exposure Flame retardants break down into particles that contaminate household dust, which people inhale and absorb through skin during normal daily activities Reduce exposure by choosing flame-retardant free furniture and household items, using a vacuum with a HEPA filter, avoiding stain-resistant fabrics and selecting certified organic products, especially for children
