Beth Mooney just brought up 200 games in Australian colours and reflects on all her achievements and how she went with the limelight firmly on her (hint: "not great"). Mooney joins Declan Byrne on 'The Saturday Sledge' at the end of another long season of cricket to talk about some career highlights, playing alongside the next generation, her time in the WPL in India recently and where she's spending some time in the off season.

An eight-wicket thrashing for the White Ferns from Australia, in today's Twenty20 cricket series-opener in Auckland. The New Zealand women made 137 for two, with returning allrounder Amelia Kerr hitting an unbeaten half century. The ABC's maiden cricket podcast hosted by Kristen Beams and Brittany Carter. It's been a very successful Women's Ashes series for the Australians, after they clean swept the entire multi-format series to win 16 points to nil. It's the first time either team has experienced that kind of dominance and it doesn't bode well for England, who now head home with a lot of work to do. A review will be done by the ECB to identify what went wrong, and instead of laying into the visitors with hot takes like everyone else, that's the area we are focusing on ... Which aspects of their game do England need to improve?Aside from that, we celebrate Annabel Sutherland and Beth Mooney's Test centuries and Alana King's 5fa that saw all three players make the MCG honour board. Before we catch up with Beth Barrett-Wild to learn more about the strategy behind The Hundred in the UK.
In this episode of the Top Order Podcast, Binksy, Jamie, Baldy and Raj discuss some of the major talking points from the past week, including the England v India T20 series, Australia's innings victories in the tests against Sri Lanka & India, plus a Sachin Tendulkar/Steve Smith stat-off to finish. We start the show by discussing Australia's WAshes victory and the fallout for an England side that has performed well below their own expectations. Will there be changes at the top? There's also praise for Alana King, Annabel Sutherland, Beth Mooney, Ash Gardner and more. Next up we move to India's T20 series with England. The show was recorded before India's crushing win in the 5th match, but the discussion around England's mixed performances shone through. There are question marks around the finishing and concussion substitutes, but plenty of positives for Varun Chakravarthy and also Hardik Pandya's leadership. After that we move to another big Australian victory - the innings win against Sri Lanka at Galle. We talk about the manner of the victory and the dominant performance, but of course Baldy is always looking for improvements from this Australian team. Usman Khawaja and Josh Inglis went big, but should Sam Konstas have played? How well did the Aussie spinners bowl? And what was Dhananjaya De Silva doing? To round out the show, it was a good old fashioned head-to-head battle as the boys discuss the records of Sachin Tendulkar and Steve Smith after the latter passed 10,000 runs. The ABC's maiden cricket podcast hosted by Kristen Beams and Brittany Carter. Australia has clean swept both white-ball formats to win the Women's Ashes outright and hold onto the trophy for a sixth straight series. They now lead 12 points to nil with just the Test match left to play, where four more points will be on offer. Despite the lop-sided affair, it feels as if the tension has started to heat up, as conversations around England's fitness and athleticism spark debate. There was the shunning of past player turned broadcaster Alex Hartley for her honesty, before head coach Jon Lewis gave some odd comments about Australia's warm weather influencing their ability to be the better side. A photo of English captain Heather Knight standing with her head bowed in the pouring rain really summed up the frustrating tour they've had so far.We unpack all of the drama and marvel in the consistency of leading run-scorer Beth Mooney, the hard-hitting prowess of Grace Harris and several captain's knocks from stand-in skipper Tahlia McGrath, as Alyssa Healy once again battles a foot injury.
Women's Ashes Daily, 3rd T20, Adelaide: Another match, another stop on the procession. Beth Mooney has been in brilliant touch all series, and outscored England on her own in a virtuoso performance. Meanwhile, a vintage set of fielding highlights decorated the other half of the innings. Isabelle Westbury is in no mood to hold back, joining Geoff from Adelaide. The Australian women's cricket team spend many months of the year travelling around the globe playing cricket for their country, as well as in various franchise leagues across the world. This particular tour of Bangladesh is presenting the well-travelled Australians with some unique challenges and opportunities, all of which Beth Mooney and Alana King take the time to explain in great detail. Over a spirited game of Monopoly Deal, Beth and Alana cover a lot of territory: the sheer terror of facing Tayla Vlaeminck in the nets, what makes this Australian team unique, Beth's big 30th plus the exciting schedule of international cricket on the horizon. Before that, hosts Laura Jolly and Emily Collin wrap up a convincing 3-0 ODI series win to the visitors and look ahead to whether Australia might tinker even more with their XI heading into the three T20s. Australia v South Africa Women, Perth Day 1: It was 43 degrees at the WACA, and South Africa felt the heat after being asked to bat. Darcie Brown, Kim Garth, Ellyse Perry, Annabel Sutherland and Tahlia McGrath ensured that the spinners were not required, before Australia faced trouble of their own. But where there's trouble, there is Beth Mooney, before Alyssa Healy had some fine moments and one less desirable moment of her own. Your hosts: Geoff Lemon and Bharat Sundaresan. South Africa has gotten its first-ever victory against Australia in women's cricket but its the hosts that have won the T20 International component of the multi-format series to take a 4-2 lead overall. So far, it's felt like the tour has been The Beth Mooney Show, after the opening batter claimed two Player of the Match awards, became the new highest run-scorer at Manuka Oval, and also managed to steer her team home in the deciding T20I in Hobart whilst battling food poisoning. The Proteas have shown glimpses of greatness and new captain Laura Wolvaardt has learnt so much in such a small space of time, but they'll have their work cut out for them over the next couple of weeks as they take on Australia in the ODIs — the world number one team's strongest format.

Season 3, Ep 7: Reloading lost episodes from the early Final Word. It's January 2017, Pakistan have wrapped up in Sydney, and we're spending a moment on the great undersung career of Younis Khan: on the occasion of his 34th Test ton, reaching the rare club with more hundreds than fifties. David Warner made his own in the first session of a Test, and backed it up with the fastest Australian fifty, while we made some wildly inaccurate predictions about his future. Matt Renshaw was trying to get to India, Peter Handscomb had never been dismissed short of fifty, Hilton Cartwright debuted. Plus an early Adam use of "private collection" and a sitcom starring Viv Richards and Misbah-ul-Haq. In T20s, Deandra Dottin was the Terminator, the Beth Mooney and Kirby Short partnership was growing, and we got in early demanding that Michael Klinger captain the Australian side - which he did.
