Our guest this episode was born and raised in Carson California, where she studied classical piano throughout her childhood starting at very young age. After high school, she attended University of California, Long Beach, where she studied Interior Design. After one semester there, she changed course and made her way to Sonoma State, where she graduated with a BA in both Music, (piano) and Fine Art, (printmaking).Our guest works as an accompanist in private studios and is currently the pianist who accompanies the applied music students at Santa Rosa Junior College in Northern California. She is also a vocal coach for these voice students.While our guest’s career is primarily focused on music, her interest in the arts is eclectic. She lives the famous line from Mick to Rocky “It ain't about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep movin' forward!” Kristine narrowly missed the CrossFit games in 2014 when she finished third in a region that only took two athletes to the games, Canada East. The two women who finished ahead of her, one by mere seconds went on to take 1st and 4th respectively at the 2014 Games. The next year, 2015 Kristine was poised to get herself to (At the time) Carson California to compete at the CrossFit Games. But she tore her achilles in training. Fast forward to 2016 and she is the number 3 seed in the entire state of California, everyone knows this is her year… Until she tore both shoulder labrums on the regionals floor at the same time. 2 years and four surgeries later Kristine is finally back to getting in the mindset of competing again. With just one month of training she is sitting in the top 100 in the Northeast Region as this was recorded.
