We start, where else, in Bergen, Norway. We honor the club and the Brann Battalion, but please remember, this isn't "goodbye;" it's merely a "see ya later." Benfica, Benfica, Benfica -- you brought us such joy. From Kika Magic to incredible neck tattoos, to hard-nosed defense, we're looking forward to watching this squad continue to progress. Speaking of hard-nosed defense, we spent some time discussing BK Häcken's incredible back line and goalkeeper Jennifer Falk. From the great atmosphere in Gothenburg, to the pair of dynamic 20-year-old attackers, this squad is setup for long-term success. We also sprinkled in talk about the upcoming slugfests between Barcelona-Chelsea and Lyon-PSG. Stay tuned, as we'll have a full, proper preview of the semifinals before those kickoff. How will this affect Gotham's chance at a repeat title? And with the Olympic's looming this summer, and Purce being in fantastic form, you can't do anything but feel for her. Just gut-wrenching. This does however open the door for Yazmeen Ryan to step into the role full-time as she's shown flashes of greatness herself and is only 25 years old. The United States Women's National Team prepare for SheBelieves Cup, and we do a quick preview of all the games on Episode 74. The USWNT will begin their 2022 schedule tomorrow against Czech Republic, continue on Sunday against New Zealand, and end next Wednesday with a match against Iceland. There is excitement around some of the young talent that's in this camp, like Midge Purce, Trinity Rodman, and Ashley Sanchez. Can they make an impact on this team during this tournament? This year is an important one for the USWNT, with the Concacaf W Championship this summer serving as qualfiying for both the 2023 Women's World Cup qualifying and the 2024 Summer Olympics. We talk briefly about why the USWNT have ended up drawing the Czech Republic, New Zealand, and Iceland for this edition of SheBelieves instead of the traditional powers that normally participate in this tournament. But, this could serve as a great test for the USWNT, mimicking a theoretical World Cup group. The United States Women's National Team had a productive trip Down Under, and we lead Episode 67 with a recap of their matches against Australia. There were a few players who seized the opportunity they were given, like Ashley Hatch, Midge Purce, Casey Murphy, and Andi Sullivan. And, Vlatko Andonovski will have some choices to make going forward about which direction he wishes to steer the USWNT as it gears up for World Cup qualifying and Olympic qualifying next summer. After the break, we move to the USMNT, who have 3 World Cup qualifiers in January. The venues were recently announced, and we discuss the choices of Columbus and St. Paul for the home matches on January 27th and February 2nd, along with Canada selecting Hamilton as the site of their home match against the USMNT on January 30th. Finally, we get into the rumored 2022 home and away jerseys for U.S. Soccer, and it's time to opine that blank white or royal jerseys are not enough, and we must do better. Courtney & André are back with another new episode for your earholes! (sidenote: why does the word 'earholes' sound so deeply disgusting? anyway... ) Your hosts discuss the new NWSL interim CEO, Marla Messing. We run through her credentials, the tasks she has in front of her, and what we're hoping she does and does not do. Then we discuss Lynn Williams and Sam Mewis' latest episode of Snacks, in which they interviewed Midge Purce. They touched on the Black Women's Player Collective and how it was formed, and we recall a conversation we had with Ify Onumonu, Imani Dorsey and Estelle Johnson on the GOTHAM FAMILY REUNION episode. After a short break we dive straight into NWSL madness. We review the latest slate of games and ask the question: Is Ebony Salmon good? #IMPACT We also have some words for folks dancing on Orlando's regular season grave. Courtney also breaks out her protractor, sundial, and TI-85 to deliver multiple playoff scenarios from Gotham's ~900 games in hand. After our brains are good and fried from NWSL playoff math, we shoutout some of the matches we're looking forward to during this international break. And stay tuned all the way through Heated & Hyped because we have a fun opportunity and YOU could win! After Courtney shares what's got her heated, and we both cackle at the Chicago Sky trotting out the broken door, you get to hear how André was a big idiot and how you can potentially benefit!
