I've Got Scars Baby! is about exploring "scars" of all sorts, from physical to mental and emotional "scars." We will speak with people from various backgrounds who share their life lessons and how they have become empowered by their scars. The purpose of this show is to present the audience with possibilities for overcoming trauma and turning your scars into your superpower. ABOUT AUDRA: Life Coach/Motivational Speaker/Author Audra Bryant is a life coach, motivational speaker, singer, and author who shares her transformational journey of healing to help others turn their scars into their superpower. After an accident caused her to receive burns on her chest, neck and shoulder at the tender age of 18-months, Bryant spent nearly 25 years trying to rid herself of the scars with surgeries, compression vests, acid treatments, and injections. She then began to cover them with t-shirts and turtlenecks and refused to look at her scars in the mirror until she was 25 years old, only to find herself missing out on her purpose and meaningful relationships. Because of her experience, the Detroit native wrote her song “Scars” to encourage others going through similar situations and shares her journey in a book “I’ve Got Scars Baby! How to Embrace Your Scars and Power Your Purpose.” In it, Bryant reveals that through prayer, affirmations, therapy, and other methods, she eventually found her purpose by embracing her scars. Additionally, as a certified life coach, she’s empowered countless others through workshops, personal coaching, speaking engagements, online courses, and her podcast “I’ve Got Scars Baby!”, which explores “scars” of all sorts from physical to mental and emotional. Bryant’s infectious smile, impeccable talent and powerful testimony led to her being a motivational speaker and performer for The Detroit Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Los Angeles Unified School District, Accelerated Radio, LA Talk Radio and the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors. Through the victories and the times of challenge, Bryant’s learned that we all have a purpose that is inextricable linked to one another so it is her desire to encourage others in their journey and make them smile along the way!   To learn more or purchase Audra’s book please visit: https://www.audrabryant.com/

As a girl, the elementary school she attended burned down, after which she was bused to an affluent, predominantly white private school in Palos Verdes, CA. There, she was constantly challenged to defend the negative characterizations of her hometown. “I felt like I was bridging two worlds,” says Camille. “One where kids were dropped off in Benzes and Bentleys, and another that was wrongly stereotyped for gangs and violence. It was like being in a fish bowl. As an object of curiosity to my classmates, I became profoundly aware of my blackness.” Things changed for Camille when she got her hands on the works of phenomenal, black women writers such as Gwendolyn Brooks, Ntozake Shange, Maya Angelou and Octavia Butler. Their written word inspired her and helped her to find her own voice. Camille began to write—poetry, songs, plays and eventually screenplays. Today, Camille has sold screenplays to many of the major studios such as Sony, Universal, New Line Cinema, Fox TV and Disney, and has worked with producers such as Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, Stacey Snider, Marc Platt, Todd Garner and Debra Chase. One of her most memorable experiences was co-writing the screenplay Golddiggaz with the late Oscar-nominated director, John Singleton, a friend and mentor. Camille has produced and directed six short films. Her short, Cellular, won Best Short Narrative Film at Boston's Roxbury International Film Festival. In 2019, Camille was honored to be a finalist and the drama alternate in the prestigious Disney|ABC TV Writing Fellowship; and in 2018, she was one of eleven filmmakers selected in the Producers Guild of America Power of Diversity Workshop. Turn your scars into your superpower! ***** In this episode, Dr. Selvi will discuss her battle with Crohn's disease. How ignoring her health in order to pursue medical school (with the added cultural pressure of being the perfect student) affected her life and how listening to her body was her only rescue. About Dr. Selvi: Dr. Selvi guides women to soothe their Crohn's (and regain their life!) naturally. Realizing that the answers to healing herself took more than what her medical doctors, or her own medical training, could offer, Dr. Selvi successfully explored alternatives to get to remission and remain in remission for 10 years. Her passion lies in applying these and other methods she learned along the way, to help her clients regain their life from the pain, exhaustion, and other symptoms of Crohn's. Dr. Selvi lives in New Jersey and (free from the grip of Crohn's) loves nothing more than to dance, travel and explore in her free time! Turn your scars into your superpower! ***** #Audrabryant #ivegotscarsbaby #Scars In this episode Spiritual Scientist, Zion Shabazz, talks about the process and benefits of Ancestral Recovery. He describes the origin of many of our mental and physical illness and how to get on the road to empowering yourself now. ABOUT ZION: Zion Shabazz defines spiritual science as the study and true knowledge of self and the universe.  With knowledge of self being the ultimate goal, healing and remembering the true history of our Ancestors are imperative towards achieving that goal.  Based in Los Angeles, Zion has studied and practiced around the world to uncover and master an incredibly effective combination of healing tools available. Zion targets the root of the physical or emotional stress in order to facilitate a safe transformation of that energy. In this way, he is working toward treating the cause rather than temporarily treating the symptom.  Zion's purpose with this work is to empower and support others with practical methods geared towards realizing conscious communion with their higher self.  This direct connection leads to inner peace and enjoying a virtuous lifestyle that no one can ever take away. Ancestral Clearing- resolving past issues that either stem from our childhood or that have been passed down through our DNA. When these issues are left unresolved, they have a direct adverse impact on our own happiness, health, prosperity and relationships. By resolving our past, we are now able to actualize our full potential in the present.  Ancestral clearing transforms negative energy so that it can no longer block our progress. Ancestral Recovery- restoring the harmonious state of a healthy body and mind while reclaiming our stolen legacy Reiki- energy healing through the use of touch or hovering to help activate the body's own natural healing abilities. Reiki promotes stress reduction and relaxation that allows for renewed strength and restoration of one's physical and emotional well-being. Turn your scars into your superpower! ***** #Audrabryant #ivegotscarsbaby #Scars In this episode, Ryan talks about his experience with as a white man living America and his perspective on the scars of racism and his desire for healing the divide. ABOUT RYAN: Ryan “Ryz” Walker has been giving free hugs and making beats since he was in diapers. As a baby he innately danced and banged on pots and pans, which naturally led to a Muppet Babies drum kit. Love and rhythm weren't the only things moving young Ryz, however. He also enjoyed singing. His mother often broke out a microphone and cassette deck to record his sister and him performing smash hits such as “Itsy Bitsy Spider” and “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.” From day one, music, love and joy were one in the same for young Ryz.    As a kid, he would daydream about a world filled with love while hypnotized by the sounds of jazz and hip-hop, courtesy of the orchestra in his mind. Melodies, harmonies, rhythms and rhymes constantly filled his soul. At age 8 his parents divorced, which gave music an additional role in his life. It became a way for Ryz to express and cope with pain. This was the first time he became aware of music as a healer. He started putting rhymes down on paper and formed his first group in fifth grade where he and some friends rapped and danced. He also studied the saxophone and once middle school came around he was playing the drums in jazz band. As music and love continued to express through Ryz, he was voted class friendliest by his peers; an acknowledgement he is still grateful for to this day. With music as his companion, Ryz has deepened his understanding of love through self-reflection, life lessons, and being a shoulder for others to lean on. His path eventually lead him to the practice of Transcendental Meditation, developed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (famed guru to the Beatles). Not long after discovering meditation, he enrolled at the University of Santa Monica where he obtained certification in Advanced Spiritual Psychology, acquiring 480 hours of practice in facilitating self-discovery. Another significant part of his transformation has included adopting an intermittent fasting vegan lifestyle along with releasing 85 lbs. and counting.      It's no surprise that Ryz is still giving free hugs and making beats. They remain foundational in his being, as he uses his story, music, life's challenges and victories, to empower, uplift and inspire. Since his Susquehanna days, Ryz knew his journey included good friend and soul brother, Evan Bane. This brotherhood and shared purpose of raising the vibration of love on the planet has emerged as The Wake Up Experience. Turn your scars into your superpower! ***** #Audrabryant #ivegotscarsbaby #Scars In this episode, Dr. Tongie Scott discusses her experience being a single Mom (with three children by the age of 21), sexual abuse, a lack of connection with her birth father and promiscuity. Here she discusses the work and faith she had to have to pull herself back up and continue to pursue her dream of becoming a medical doctor. #Scars #selfesteem #selflove ABOUT DR. TONGIE SCOTT: Tongie Scott, a.k.a. Dr. Tongie helps countless soon-to-be business owners/individuals live a more productive, dedicated, and purposeful life. Oprah in the Natural. Moses in the Spirit. Born in Columbus, Mississippi, to Annie Brown and Joe Fenton, Dr. Tongie faced unforeseen and unimaginable circumstances.  Being introduced to the importance of establishing a relationship with God through Christ at a very young age; Dr. Tongie has seen firsthand the benefits of this relationship. After attending Caldwell High School and graduating a year early, Dr. Tongie quickly learned that life needed a plan of action. Forced to discontinue her studies at Mississippi University for Women in the fall of 1988, Dr. Tongie focused on becoming a great Mother to her three children: Ty, Tryone, and Morgan.  But as life would have it, Dr. Tongie, in 1992, was diagnosed with malignant papillary carcinoma of the thyroid. After treatment of radiation therapy, Dr. Tongie was finally ready to thrust herself into life. Upon matriculating into medical school at 31 years old; Dr. Tongie proved to herself and her children that no matter how old you are if you believe that you can and deserve to be “here”; you will.  Before launching interactive shows such as Talk to Tongie (featured on Facebook Live) and the Dr. Tongie Show, (featured on LA Talk Radio), Dr. Tongie served several years as the CEO of Me and My Nanna, LLC-A Home Care Company.  And as a medical consultant for families looking for skilled facilities, convalescent homes and assisted living facilities for their loved ones. After a successful career helping adult students discover their passion in medicine and serving as an in-demand motivational and inspirational speaker; Dr. Tongie now creates opportunities for those who desire to truly discover who they were born to be by asking five (5) simple questions: (1) Who are you?; (2) Where are you from?; (3) What can you do (your abilities)?; (4) Why were you born?; and (5) What is your destiny? She believes that the individual who can answer those questions will cause a shift in their lives, and they will be the change they want to see in themselves. When not traveling, Dr. Tongie enjoys spending time with her family and dancing. One of her favorite places to go and have fun...a Zumba Class. Classically trained, Scott has studied with such stalwarts in theatre like Deena Levy, Trudy Steibl, and Rochelle Oliver at HB Studios. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2009, Scott has appeared in a variety of commercials, Independent films, and theatre productions. However, his staple has been the production of his spellbinding, one-man play, “Act God” which was executive produced by mentor and friend Don B. Turn your scars into your superpower! ***** Leon discusses how men handle their scars, how societal perception has scarred both he and his daughter and how childhood victimization has affected him as a man and an artist. ABOUT LEON: He lifts his voice and something just like magic happens.  His first note.  The enchantment.  Your heart opens.  Then you smile.  Leon Timbo delivers everything you need in music. You listen and you know its genuine.  Raw, jagged, unrefined soul laced with pure, silky, captivating vocals.  He delivers transparency. With every emotionally enriched, love-centric tune, his transparency forces us to also be transparent. While others wonder how to categorize the spiritual, folksy, soulful, blues-laden, R&B-spiked, Motown-influenced delivery of the Jacksonville, Florida native, he has been busy being unable to be categorized. His expressive style and range offers logical explanation for his broad-based appeal and in his eclectic authenticity, he has managed to sing his way into the hearts of industry favorites Quincy Jones, R. Kelly, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, and more. Artistically, Leon Timbo is passionate about what love is and what love is not.  He stands poised to be the voice without reservation that expresses accurately the difference between the two. “I feel like the emptiness in musical expression stems from us being afraid to be transparent to not be perfect, to not do it right, to not just say ‘I'm sorry,' but to actually be transparent enough to say why. Without that, I think we're missing a huge piece of what our music is.
