Her scars were not her flaws, They were her story reminding her forever of the long journey that had made her exactly who she was! At 18 months old Sam was diagnosed with a cancerous spinal cord tumour. An extraordinary adaptive athlete, a remarkable woman & humbling life story! Sam inspired me by her athleticism, determination, courage and joy at the Torian Pro in 2024! She brought me to tears as I cheered her on, willing her to handstand walk! She has just qualified for her first CrossFit Games (2024), Sam shares her remarkable and humble life journey…a story of courage, overcoming multiple surgeries, living with pain, enduring bullying at school, finding CrossFit and the mental, physical and emotional journey that brought her to this point in her life! CrossFit became not only an outlet but a passion, where she pushed boundaries and proved that strength isn't just about muscles—it's about grit and determination. Adapting, fighting, thriving—that's Sam's AMRAP. Limitations? Nah, those are just like no reps—annoying but conquerable. Sam has learned to adapt, proving that limitations are only in the mind (and sometimes her leg, but who's tallying the reps?). “I want other people with adaptations, and all the little Sammys out there, to see that they can RX life too—they can be part of something incredible.” SUPPORT SAM: Sam's Go Fund Me page can be found here: https://gofund.me/940e50d2.

It's moving day. Day 2 is when we typically see some shifts in the leaderboard...at least for those who are just a few points apart. For Tia-Clair Toomey, it was a day to assert her dominance but Kara Saunders was not going to let her do it without a fight. Some strategy was used during the barbell complex which ultimately worked in Toomey's favor.Ricky Garard and Jay Crouch are the men to watch right now -- especially ending day 2 with both at 364 points. One more day of competition to go and anything can happen for which athlete takes home the Torian Pro title.Morning Chalk Up's Lauren Kalil sits down with Bella Martin whose boots on the ground at the Torian Pro to talk about all of the major moments from the day and who you should have your eye on going into the final day of competition.
Today Adrian has a solo review of the Torian Pro CrossFit Games Semi Final. He talks through the individual and team events workout by workout and what he likes about each or would like to see change. All in all, he has a favorable opinion about the programming. The flow, the variance of planes of movement, the loading, the time domains, the work to rest intervals and even the the sequencing for teams and the demand we see on both their fitness and team work.
Day 1 is in the books for the Torian Pro in Australia -- and it's no surprise to see Tia-Clair Toomey leading the way on the women's side. In Event 1, Kara Saunders and Toomey were battling neck and neck but ultimately, Toomey took home the win and ended Day 1 at the top of the leaderboard. For the men's side, the big story is what happened to Ricky Garard after Event 1?Morning Chalk Up's Lauren Kalil sits down with Bella Martin whose boots on the ground at Torian to talk about all of the major moments from the day and who you should have your eye on going into day 2.
There's semifinals action in Australia and Amsterdam this weekend. Sean and Tommy break down the Torian Pro and Lowlands Throwdown. What are the top storylines and who do they think will be moving on to the CrossFit Games. Plus, another round of PRs and No Reps including a really fit detective and a 700 pound deadlift.
Before each Semifinal, our sports analysts Tommy Marquez, Brian Friend and Patrick Clark will pick who they think will punch their ticket to the CrossFit Games from each respective Semifinal. Each analyst will pick their Games ticket predictions for the men and women – with a wild card athlete – and then throughout the month of Semifinals, they will receive a point for every athlete they get correct and an additional point if they correctly predicted their placing.
“I think having different programming at each event can add a lot of color to the season. … I think by allowing the events to have some events that they program that are specific to their region or location or the community can … make it interesting to watch and be a part of. And in saying that, I think it's really cool to have some standardized events. (They) will allow analysts … and the athletes and coaches themselves to be able to kinda get a sense of where everybody's at and compare apples to apples.” — Mike Towner, co-competition director of the Torian ProSemifinal competition directors Mike Towner and Johno Snape of the Torian Pro, Robbin Stalma of the CrossFit Lowlands Throwdown, and Wilson Pak of the Syndicate Crown join Chase Ingraham on the podcast to discuss the CrossFit Semifinals stage. The group talks about the excitement of live competition, having top athletes take the floor surrounded by the CrossFit community, and what spectators can look forward to at each Semifinal. They also open up about challenges with planning and programming for their competitions, and offer their opinions on the two events programmed by CrossFit this year.Tune in to learn more about what it takes to put on a CrossFit Semifinal.Purchase your tickets for the CrossFit Lowlands Throwdown, the Syndicate Crown, and/or the Torian Pro here:
