Desde la gestión de catástrofes como la DANA hasta la revolución robótica del Tow Track y la física del rescate del coche eléctrico. Vemos sus potentes destellos amarillos parpadeando en la penumbra de la autovía, recortados contra la bionda protectora, y sentimos un suspiro de alivio en el pecho. Para cualquier conductor que ha quedado inmovilizado en la carretera, la llegada de la grúa de auxilio representa el fin de la incertidumbre y el inicio del retorno a la seguridad. Sin embargo, para la persona que desciende de esa cabina de asistencia, ese preciso instante marca el comienzo de una maniobra de altísimo riesgo físico y psicológico. Para poner en valor, escuchar y actualizar técnicamente a estos profesionales indispensables, MAPFRE y su centro de investigación y desarrollo, CESVIMAP (en Ávila), han celebrado unas jornadas técnicas y relacionales sin precedentes. Un evento que ha reunido a más de 50 grandes representantes de empresas de auxilio en carretera de toda España —empresas que van desde pequeños núcleos familiares con dos plataformas hasta flotas consolidadas de más de 100 vehículos en circulación—. 1. El "Real Madrid" de la asistencia europea: métricas que salvan vidas La asistencia en carretera en España cuenta con unos estándares de calidad que son la envidia de todo el continente europeo. Mientras que en la mayoría de países de la Unión Europea los tiempos de espera medios superan con creces los 45 minutos en el mejor de los casos, la red española funciona a un nivel de precisión asombroso. "En Madrid capital estamos tardando una media de 28 minutos en llegar a un vehículo averiado o accidentado", destaca Alejandro Arias, gerente de Grúas del Toro (una flota madrileña con 58 unidades de asistencia). "¡En una urbe de 5 millones de habitantes, ni una pizza a domicilio te llega en 28 minutos! Y si se trata de un accidente grave, somos capaces de personarnos en la escena en apenas 12 o 15 minutos gracias a una infraestructura perfectamente coordinada". Estas cifras se traducen en unos niveles de satisfacción del cliente excepcionales. Francisco Javier Cobos, responsable de MAPFRE, detalla las métricas de un servicio donde el error no es una opción: • Net Promoter Score (NPS): Se sitúa en un excelente 75 (una métrica donde los clientes evalúan con sobresaliente el servicio). • Índice de satisfacción global: Un 9,2 sobre 10 de valoración media por parte de los asegurados. • Reseñas y reputación digital: Entre un 4,8 y un 4,9 sobre 5 en las plataformas de valoración independientes. "Los gruistas y operadores telefónicos son la primera imagen de la marca en el momento más vulnerable del cliente", explica José María Cáncer, director general de CESVIMAP. "Por ello, no les pedimos únicamente que sepan conducir un camión pesado; les exigimos empatía, mano izquierda con personas que a menudo están muy estresadas, y una capacidad absoluta para tomar decisiones rápidas bajo presión". 2. "Afeitar" la muerte en el arcén: la cruda realidad del riesgo de atropello Detrás de las luces parpadeantes y la profesionalidad del servicio se esconde una de las profesiones con mayor tasa de siniestralidad y mortalidad en carretera, compartiendo el trágico podio con los operarios de mantenimiento de carreteras y los agentes de las fuerzas y cuerpos de seguridad del Estado. David Tienenzar, un experimentado gruista autónomo que coordina un equipo de 15 personas en Chinchilla de Albacete, relata un episodio que le acompaña en el recuerdo de cada noche de lluvia: "Estaba cargando un vehículo averiado en mitad de la autovía, completamente de noche y bajo un fuerte aguacero. La asegurada ya estaba a salvo dentro de mi cabina y yo me acerqué un segundo a coger el libro de partes de la plataforma. De repente, vi venir un camión de gran tonelaje que circulaba desviado. Solo me dio tiempo a encogerme y meterme en el estrecho hueco entre mi cabina y la plataforma. El camión pasó tan pegado que no llegó a arrancar mi espejo retrovisor, pero la propia fuerza del rebufo del aire lo dobló por completo hacia delante. Pasó a escasos centímetros de mí. A la mujer que estaba dentro de la cabina le dio un ataque de pánico y rompió a llorar de forma incontenible. Si no llego a reaccionar en una décima de segundo, hoy no estaría aquí contándolo". La falta de atención de los conductores en la carretera —provocada en su inmensa mayoría por el uso del teléfono móvil o la manipulación del GPS— es el gran enemigo de los gruistas. Ángel Palmero, que gestiona una flota en Granada, comparte otra dolorosa vivencia familiar: "A mi hermano, mientras cargaba un turismo, un coche que iba distraído le arrancó el espejo retrovisor directamente contra sus costillas. Se salvó de milagro, pero estuvo tres semanas sin poder moverse de la cama". Ante esta alarmante desprotección, el sector reclama a gritos una mayor concienciación social y medidas institucionales de calado: 1. La regla de los 2 metros: Exigen que, al ver una grúa con los rotativos encendidos trabajando en el arcén, los conductores reduzcan la velocidad y dejen al menos 2 metros de separación física, desplazándose obligatoriamente al carril izquierdo si la circulación lo permite. 2. Uso de luces de emergencia: Reclaman la equipación de señales luminosas azules, equivalentes a las de ambulancias y policía, para que los conductores identifiquen de inmediato el peligro a larga distancia. El veredicto sobre la baliza V16 conectada El debate sobre la obligatoriedad de la baliza V16 conectada en sustitución de los tradicionales triángulos de preseñalización fue un punto de fuerte consenso negativo entre los profesionales que pisan el asfalto a diario: "La V16 ha sido básicamente un impuesto añadido para el consumidor, pero no aporta una seguridad vial real sobre el terreno", afirma tajante David Record, con 38 años de experiencia en la asistencia en el área metropolitana de Barcelona (Sant Joan Despí). "De día no se ve absolutamente nada, con niebla es invisible y de noche tiene una potencia lumínica bajísima porque funciona con una pila de 9 voltios que con el frío y el calor del habitáculo se degrada rápidamente". Los gruistas coinciden en que los triángulos tradicionales, colocados correctamente a una distancia de seguridad previa, avisan de la presencia del obstáculo mucho antes de que el conductor llegue a la curva o al cambio de rasante. Héroes de barro: Grúas Jordán y la noche que la DANA lo inundó todo Las jornadas de Ávila sirvieron también para rendir un emotivo homenaje a los operadores que se convirtieron en auténticos salvavidas comunitarios durante catástrofes extremas, como la DANA que asoló la Comunidad Valenciana. Javier Lozano, jefe de tráfico de Grúas Jordán, narra cómo vivieron las primeras horas de una catástrofe que sumió a la región en el caos absoluto: "Aquella tarde no caía ni una sola gota de agua en nuestra base, pero en cuestión de minutos empezó a subir un auténtico río de fango que anegó nuestras instalaciones. Estaba en la oficina con dos compañeras de trabajo y, viendo el peligro, lo primero que hicimos fue subir a hombros los servidores informáticos a la planta superior. Gracias a esa decisión de emergencia, pudimos mantener nuestros sistemas operativos y seguir coordinando los servicios telefónicos sin parar ni un solo minuto de dar soporte". A pesar de que Grúas Jordán perdió 10 camiones pesados bajo el agua y sus naves quedaron completamente inutilizadas, el equipo humano continuó coordinando el tráfico de emergencias en turnos extenuantes de 24 horas. "Los conductores de otras provincias de la red de MAPFRE se volcaron con nosotros. Vinieron grúas de toda España a arrimar el hombro en la zona cero. Estuvimos semanas sin descansar, sacando vehículos del lodo, abriendo pasos y ayudando a restablecer una mínima normalidad cuando la administración aún no había podido llegar al terreno". 4. La revolución del 'Tow Track': rescatar un coche sin tocar el habitáculo Uno de los talleres que mayor expectación levantó entre los asistentes fue la demostración dinámica del Tow Track, un revolucionario equipo de arrastre y extracción de vehículos distribuido por Automoción Ibérica en España y Portugal. Se trata de un robot de tracción sobre orugas con un motor de combustión o eléctrico, manejado de forma remota por el operario mediante un mando a distancia. Su diseño está concebido para resolver situaciones extremadamente complejas en entornos donde una grúa de plataforma convencional o de palas no puede acceder físicamente: • Garajes subterráneos: Espacios con techos muy bajos de apenas 1,80 metros o rampas helicoidales estrechas donde es imposible maniobrar. • Vehículos bloqueados: Coches eléctricos o automáticos con las cuatro ruedas bloqueadas electrónicamente que no se pueden arrastrar sin destrozar la transmisión. • Terrenos hostiles: Zonas de barro, arena de playa, lodo, nieve o caminos forestales pedregosos donde la oruga distribuye el peso de manera uniforme, logrando una tracción asombrosa sin patinar. Durante la demostración práctica en CESVIMAP, un operario cargó sin esfuerzo un Mercedes-Benz Clase A AMG —un turismo deportivo con una distancia libre al suelo de apenas 12 centímetros— sin necesidad de entrar al habitáculo ni tocar el freno de mano. El sistema dispone de un doble raíl superior e inferior que abraza los neumáticos traseros y delanteros, elevando el coche de forma milimétrica en un proceso extremadamente seguro. "El equipo tiene un coste aproximado de unos 75.000 euros, pero su durabilidad supera holgadamente los 20 años de servicio en las condiciones más duras", detalla Rubén Sánchez, representante de la marca. "La ventaja en rentabilidad es incuestionable: un rescate complejo en un garaje que antes requería 4 horas de maniobras peligrosas con gatos y carros, ahora se resuelve en apenas 45 minutos de forma limpia y segura para el operario, que controla todo el perímetro a distancia". 5. El reto del coche eléctrico: el "chef del alto voltaje" y la cuarentena de 48 horas La electrificación del parque automovilístico introduce nuevas variables físicas y térmicas en el trabajo diario de la asistencia. Para dar respuesta a estos retos, el experto e instructor de CESVIMAP, Jorge Jiménez, impartió una clase magistral sobre los protocolos de intervención segura en vehículos eléctricos accidentados o averiados: "Si el coche eléctrico no ha sufrido un impacto estructural en su chasis y el sistema de alta tensión está intacto, el procedimiento de carga es idéntico al de un coche térmico tradicional", explica Jiménez. "El problema real surge cuando nos enfrentamos a un vehículo accidentado con daños graves en los bajos de la carrocería". Durante el taller, se mostraron las entrañas abiertas de la batería de 400 voltios de un Porsche Taycan, así como los sistemas de motorización eléctrica de un Renault 5 y un Leapmotor chino recién incorporado a las bases de pruebas de CESVI Recambios. Los operarios aprendieron a localizar el desconectador físico de alta tensión siguiendo las especificaciones de la Hoja de Rescate del fabricante y a solventar problemas comunes de software, como abrir el capó de un vehículo eléctrico sin llave física (como Volvo o Tesla) induciendo tensión externa de 12 voltios a través del espadín del paragolpes para liberar el maletero delantero. El uso correcto de las mantas antiincendios María del Mar, especialista en seguridad corporativa de MAPFRE, aportó una visión crítica sobre el uso de las mantas ignífugas en caso de incendio de la batería de litio: "La manta antiincendios es un elemento extraordinario de prevención y confinamiento, pero jamás se debe arriesgar la vida para colocarla en un coche que ya tiene un fuego plenamente desarrollado y descontrolado", advierte. "Desplegar una manta requiere de un mínimo de tres o cuatro personas coordinadas, espacio suficiente alrededor del coche y que el calor no sea extremo. Su uso ideal para el sector de la grúa y el taller es preventivo: colocarla sobre un coche eléctrico sospechoso que ha tenido un impacto severo y dejarlo en cuarentena controlada durante 48 horas en una zona abierta antes de proceder a su reparación". Empatía sobre ruedas La jornada celebrada en Ávila concluyó con una innovadora dinámica de intercambio de roles destinada a potenciar la empatía entre las dos puntas de la línea telefónica de asistencia. Los operadores que atienden las llamadas de emergencia en la oficina se subieron a las plataformas de las grúas para sentir la tensión física del arcén y las dificultades de señalización, mientras que los gruistas experimentaron la complejidad de descifrar las pólizas, calmar a un cliente desorientado y localizar con precisión un coche parado en mitad de la nada. Como bien resume Emilio Luces, subdirector de CESVIMAP: "Este sector es una inmensa cadena humana de empresas de carácter familiar que demuestran una vocación de servicio increíble en situaciones de gran dureza. Lo que ellos mejoran en su día a día, lo mejoramos todos en la carretera". As OEMs right-size their footprints, throughput is climbing and single-brand stores are on the rise.The U.S. starts 2026 with 18,300 dealerships—just 11 fewer than last year—but total franchise points dropped 1.5% to 29,387.Exclusive, single-brand stores rose 1.2% to 13,351 locations as automakers continue network consolidation strategies.Buick (-20%), Lincoln (-9.9%) and Jaguar (-25%) all shrank networks intentionally, boosting per-store performance in the process.Average franchise throughput across the industry climbed 4.1% to 532 vehicles in 2025, with Toyota leading at 1,736 units per store, up 8%.19 brands improved throughput in 2025 — but 24 saw declines, including 12 brands down more than 10%. As networks shrink, the gap between healthy franchises and struggling ones is widening fast.When the $7,500 EV tax credit disappeared, most used EV prices fell. Except Tesla. Si le pides a un niño que dibuje un coche, dibuja una berlina: motor, habitáculo y maletero. Es "El Coche" por definición. Durante décadas fue el estándar, desde los taxis de Nueva York hasta el coche familiar de los 90. Sin embargo, en los últimos 15 años hemos visto una "limpieza étnica" automotriz a favor del SUV. Pero te propongo dejar de mirar los anuncios y mirar los datos de los túneles de viento. Berlina vs. SUV: La dictadura de la física Vivimos en la era de la eficiencia obligatoria. En un eléctrico, la mala aerodinámica significa no llegar a destino; en uno de combustión, significa gastar más. La berlina es imbatible aquí. Muchas marcas presumen de que sus SUV tienen un Coeficiente Aerodinámico (Cx) similar al de una berlina (0.29, por ejemplo). ¡Es una trampa! Comparando un Tesla Model 3 contra un Model Y (misma batería y motor) a 120 km/h, la berlina consume entre un 15% y un 18% menos. Eso se traduce en 50 o 60 km de autonomía extra "gratis". En combustión ocurre lo mismo: un BMW Serie 3 gasta casi un litro menos a los cien que un X3 en autopista, con mejores prestaciones. La física no perdona. El salvavidas chino y la rentabilidad industrial Quizás te preguntes por qué marcas como BMW, Audi o Mercedes siguen invirtiendo millones en desarrollar nuevas berlinas si en Europa todos compran SUV. La respuesta está en China. Allí, la berlina es sagrada y símbolo de estatus. Tanto es así que se fabrican versiones de batalla larga (Long Wheelbase) específicas para ese mercado. Gracias a que China compra millones de estos coches, las marcas europeas pueden seguir ofreciéndolos aquí. Además, industrialmente la berlina es más rentable: requiere menos acero y cristal, usa neumáticos más pequeños y baratos, y necesita suspensiones menos complejas al no tener que controlar las inercias de un vehículo alto de dos toneladas. Estatus, imagen y el problema del "Sándwich" Hay un reducto donde el SUV no ha logrado penetrar: el coche de representación. Los líderes mundiales no viajan en todoterrenos, viajan en berlinas de lujo. La berlina sigue siendo el equivalente al traje con corbata: transmite seriedad y elegancia. El SUV, aunque sea de lujo, es como un chándal caro. También analizamos los retos técnicos. El principal es el "efecto sándwich" en los eléctricos: la batería en el suelo eleva el piso del coche, obligando a subir el techo para que los ocupantes quepan, lo que tiende a "gordificar" la silueta. Sin embargo, la ingeniería está respondiendo con soluciones como los "garajes para pies" (huecos en la batería para las plazas traseras) que permiten mantener diseños bajos y afilados, como vemos en el Porsche Taycan o el Audi e-tron GT. La resistencia: ¿Quién mantiene la llama? Hacemos un repaso a los "héroes" que mantienen vivo el segmento, mezclando la tradición europea con la nueva ola tecnológica china: -Tesla y BYD: El Model 3 y el BYD Seal demuestran que, si el producto es eficiente y tecnológico, la gente compra berlinas masivamente. -Alemania: BMW con su i4 y Serie 3, Mercedes con su gama EQ centrada en la aerodinámica extrema, y Audi refinando la fórmula con el A5 Sportback. -La nueva ola china: Marcas como Xiaomi con su SU7 o Xpeng están apostando fuerte por berlinas muy bajas y afiladas, declarando la guerra a la resistencia al aire. -Japón: Lexus y Toyota siguen ofreciendo la opción racional y fiable con el ES y el Corolla Sedan. Conclusión: El regreso de la razón Las modas son cíclicas. Ya empezamos a ver fatiga visual con los SUV; todos parecen iguales, bloques altos y agresivos. La diferenciación y el verdadero lujo volverán a estar en lo bajo, afilado y elegante. Las berlinas han perdido la batalla del volumen masivo, pero han ganado la batalla de la razón y la física. Mientras la autonomía y la eficiencia sean claves, la silueta de tres volúmenes sobrevivirá, evolucionando hacia vehículos más especializados y tecnológicamente superiores. ¿Estamos ante el fin de la era del "tanque urbano"? Tal vez no mañana, pero la eficiencia es la única ley que importa a largo plazo, y ahí, la berlina reclama su trono.

Este es un video diferente… te lo prometo. Los coches convencionales son como son, porque tenían que dar cabida a los elementos mecánicos como motor y cambio, que había en cada época, el chasis era pieza aparte y la transmisión por debajo, con lo cual tenían que ser altos. La estética ha ido evolucionando de la mano de la evolución de la tecnología. El diseño exterior de los coches está supeditado por el volumen y la posición de sus partes mecánicas… dicho esto… La mayoría de los coches eléctricos tienen más o menos las mismas proporciones de coches convencionales, pero con guiños, no siempre afortunados, a la modernidad: Paneles lisos, parrillas que no son parrillas, proporciones que nos parecen erróneas. Coches que, en el mejor de los casos, son anónimos, casi vulgares y que para muchos y parecen electrodomésticos con ruedas. Justo cuando surge una oportunidad revolucionaria que, en mi opinión, muchos fabricantes están desaprovechando de forma lamentable. Porque los motores eléctricos, se puede decir que no ocupan espacio, en ocasiones van en las mismas ruedas, y las baterías puede ser de formas dispares y ponerse donde queramos, nos hay trasmisión, solo unos cables… libertad casi total para el diseñador… que no se aprovecha. ¿Por qué? Son varios los motivos… Y aquí llega el primer gran problema de muchos eléctricos: Nacen con plataformas compartidas. Es decir, el fabricante parte de la base de un coche de gasolina y la adapta para meterle baterías y un motor eléctrico. No se diseña desde cero. Un intento de que el coche eléctrico parezca “un coche de verdad", por miedo a que el cliente se asuste. Pero al hacerlo perdemos una oportunidad: La de que los coches eléctricos tengan personalidad propia. Como me dijo un diseñador: No son “un diseño honesto”. No es un diseño que responde a las necesidades, sino que vive acomplejado, disfrazado de lo que ya no es. Es un quiero y no puedo funcional que se traduce en una estética muy convencional en ocasiones incluso vulgar, en un artificio innecesario. Incluso cuando tienen éxito. ¿Y si diseñásemos un eléctrico pariendo de una hoja en blanco? En este momento es cuando…la historia se pone interesante. Porque la arquitectura de un coche eléctrico puro, diseñado desde cero en una plataforma dedicada, es una auténtica revolución. Es una hoja en blanco para los diseñadores, la mayor oportunidad que han tenido en un siglo. Olvídense de todo lo anterior. Aquí tenemos lo que se conoce como plataforma "skateboard" o monopatín. Una base plana que contiene las baterías. Es el suelo del coche. Los motores son increíblemente compactos, a veces uno en cada eje, a veces solo en el trasero. ¿Qué significa esto? Porque hay muchas oportunidades: Uno: El capó ya no tiene por qué ser largo. Puedes acortar el morro drásticamente. Dos: Sin motor de combustión ni caja de cambios, puedes adelantar el habitáculo. Tres: El parabrisas puede nacer mucho más adelante, ganando un espacio interior gigantesco. Cuatro: El túnel de transmisión desaparece. El suelo es completamente plano. Cinco: Puedes llevar las ruedas a los extremos del coche. Alargar la distancia entre ejes al máximo y reducir los voladizos a la mínima expresión. Algunos ejemplos. Para mí ya hay ejemplos de coches eléctricos diferentes, BMW i3. Un coche ejemplar en el sentido que hablamos porque es bonito, va bien, es diferente y se utilizan las ventajas que aporta un eléctrico para ser un coche diferente. Honda e. Un coche urbano, encantador con un diseño que no mira al pasado de la combustión, sino que reinterpreta los compactos clásicos de motor trasero. Lucid Air. El concepto de "espacio inteligente" de Lucid aprovecha la compacta motorización eléctrica para ofrecer un interior excepcionalmente espacioso, rivalizando con berlinas de mayor tamaño. Mercedes EQs. La característica más definitoria del EQS es su diseño "One-Bow" o “un solo arco” en el que la silueta del coche traza una línea fluida y arqueada desde el frontal hasta la zaga, sin interrupciones visuales. Porsche Taycan. Hablamos de diseño, no de oportunidad o de estrategia de marca. Y desde este punto de vista este modelo mantiene una silueta deportiva clásica, pero aprovecha la plataforma eléctrica para tener un centro de gravedad increíblemente bajo y un morro más afilado y bajo de lo que sería posible en un Panamera.

C dans l'air du 5 août 2025 : Droits de douanes américains, Chine...l'Europe prise en étauÉmission présentée par Saliah BrakhliaLes nouveaux droits de douane de 15% entre les Etats-Unis et l'Europe entreront en vigueur jeudi. Mais déjà, plusieurs voix s'élèvent pour critiquer l'accord obtenu entre la Commission européenne et la Maison Blanche. Ancien ministre de l'Économie, Thierry Breton considère que cet accord est "déséquilibré", et qu'il a été imposé par Washington, alors même que l'Europe est le premier partenaire commercial des Etats-Unis. Ce week-end, l'ancien Premier ministre Michel Barnier a vivement critiqué Ursula Von Der Leyen, qualifiant la négociation d'"immense défaite". Parmi les secteurs les plus touchés, les produits pharmaceutiques (120 milliards d'euros d'exportation en 2024), et les vins et spiritueux (8 milliards) s'inquiètent de leur avenir. Le secteur du luxe devrait s'en sortir un peu mieux, en répercutant la hausse des droits de douane sur les prix. Quant à l'industrie aéronautique, elle a bénéficié d'une exemption de droits de douane.Autre victime de la guerre commerciale, l'industrie automobile est en berne : fin juillet, le groupe franco-italien Stellantis (Peugeot, Fiat, Chrysler…) a annoncé une perte de 2,3 milliards d'euros sur le premier semestre, notamment en raison d'une baisse des ventes de véhicules en Europe et aux Etats-Unis. En Allemagne, l'automobile est aussi en crise. Mercedes a annoncé fin juillet une chute de 69% de son bénéfice au deuxième trimestre, et Porsche de 91% par rapport à la même période en 2024. Le marché du véhicule haut de gamme allemand, qui se tournait avant tout vers la Chine, est confronté à un repli des consommateurs sur leur propre marché : ces derniers privilégient désormais les marques chinoises plus abordables et connectées, à l'image de la berline Xiaomi SU7, trois fois moins chère qu'une Porsche Taycan.Et les Chinois ne se contentent pas d'envahir le marché de l'automobile européen. Ils investissent également dans les autres secteurs clés. Fin mai, le groupe chinois Wanrun a ainsi repris Safra, le seul constructeur français d'autobus à hydrogène, qui avait été placé en redressement judiciaire depuis février. Le consortium chinois a repris pour 7 millions d'euros l'ensemble des activités du groupe ainsi que 120 salariés (sur 169). Ce rachat n'avait pas plu à tout le monde : "Au moment où le gouvernement en appelle à la souveraineté industrielle et veut renforcer les territoires d'industrie, (…) une nouvelle erreur se profile à Albi si le tribunal de commerce faisait le choix du groupe asiatique", avait pointé Jean-Louis Chauzy, le Président du Conseil Economique et social de Midi-Pyrénées. D'autant que l'offensive chinoise ne se limite pas à Safra : ces derniers mois, Vencorex, l'un des fleurons français de la chimie, et l'équipementier automobile GMD ont subi le même sort.L'Union européenne peut-elle espérer de nouvelles négociations sur les 15% de droits de douane imposés par les Etats-Unis ?
