Freddie Murray is entering his sixth year on the coaching staff for the Grambling State University women's basketball program and his fourth year at the helm as head coach. In 2017-18, with the expectations at a program all-time high, Murray guided the Lady Tiger program to a 19-win season as Grambling State went 19-14 overall and 13-5 in SWAC play. Grambling State enjoyed the national spotlight in early January when Shakyla Hill became the fourth NCAA Division I women's basketball player to record a quadruple double. The Lady Tigers ended the regular season as third seed in the SWAC Women's Basketball Tournament as GSU defeated Alcorn State, Texas Southern and Southern to win the SWAC Championship for the first time since 1999. In the NCAA Division I Tournament, Grambling State fell No. 2 Baylor to cap a great season for the Lady Tigers. Shakyla Hill and Jazmin Boyd were named to the All-SWAC postseason teams, with Hill earning SWAC Tournament MVP honors. Coach Murray began his college-coaching career at his alma mater Jackson State University in Jackson, Miss., first as a volunteer assistant with the men's program in 1999 and later as a graduate assistant coach (2001-2003). There he helped guide the Lady Tigers to the 2003 Southwestern Athletic Conference regular season title and finish with 23 wins that season. He also assisted in coaching 6'7 center Amie Williams who would the SWAC Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team all-conference player in 2003. The Pikeville, KY native earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Eastern Kentucky University in 1998. He also serves on the Bamberg, Calhoun, Orangeburg County Board of Trustee's for The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (F.C.A.) and is a member of Epsilon Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Over the past 15 plus years, Garvin has served as a motivational speaker for several different organizations and civic groups. His passion for leadership and to inspire and encourage people to reach for their dreams and that the best days of their lives are still ahead of them serves as the purpose of most of his speaking engagements. In the summer of 2011, Garvin participated in the NCAA-Black Coaches and Administrators Achieving Coaching Excellence (ACE) Program. He was one of 12 men's basketball coaches selected nationwide to participate in a four-day event in Indianapolis, Ind. Coach Garvin spent six seasons as the head coach at South Carolina State. He is now the current boys head coach at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington, KY. Coach is just a great person and caring coach.

Alan Murray is the head men's golf coach at The University of Washington and coached the victorious International Team in the 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup. Prior to arriving at Washington he was the head men's golf coach at University of Alabama Birmingham. During that time, Murray guided the Blazers to compete in the 2014 and 2015 NCAA National Championships and was named the 2014 Golfweek National Coach of The Year. Coach Murray talks about his journey from Ireland to Seattle, his time coaching and caddying for Paul Dunn in the 2015 British Open and stories from his time coaching the international team in the 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup.
