Wrestling with Truth and Divine Will Experiencing internal conflict while traveling, contemplating a profound truth from Matthew 11. Soul grieved due to God's will differing from personal prayers. Acknowledges God's superior knowledge and plan. "I'm glad God's God and I ain't. He knows what to do and I don't." Affirms obedience to God and appreciation for the Holy Ghost. Scripture: Matthew 11:25-30 Jesus thanks the Father for revealing truths to "babes" and hiding them from the "wise and prudent." "I thank Thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and true, and hast revealed them unto babes." All things are delivered to Jesus by the Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, nor the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son reveals Him. Invitation to those who labor and are heavy laden: "Come unto me, all ye that labor, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Take His yoke and learn from Him, for He is meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me. For I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls." His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. Prayer and Reflection Praying for those who struggle, grieve, and bear burdens. Recognizing God's faithfulness, goodness, and graciousness regardless of circumstances. Thankful for God's promises based on His will, not on personal merit. Acknowledging personal inability to fix needs, trusting in God's intervention. Word of God as a "rescue" and "lifeline" for souls. The "Post-it Note" of the Holy Spirit A verse quoted by Brother Robert on Sunday morning deeply resonated. The Holy Spirit's "unction" or "nudge" prompts deeper exploration of scripture. Like a "post-it note up in my heart." Familiar scripture can lose its effect over time. Desire to avoid becoming "anesthetized" or "indifferent" to the truth. Personal desire to be moved by the truth of Jesus' invitation to "come unto me and I'll give you rest." The Invitation to "Come" The invitation is personal: "You come. Not your neighbor." The invitation is for those who are "burdened and are heavy laden." Many carry burdens, grief, and unresolved problems. Acknowledging personal lack of answers, but knowing the One who has promised rest. Danger of taking prayer and access to God for granted. Reminder of the greatness of God, the "One on high who created everything." Importance of reverence and fear in approaching God. Personal Testimony and Revelation Remembering the day the Holy Ghost convicted the soul, leading to repentance. Jesus reveals the Father, leading to a life-changing encounter. Concern that the opportunity to kneel in God's presence is no longer an "amazement." Lamenting that many with the invitation of Christ do not seek Him. The opposite of coming to God is "not coming," requiring a response. Instantaneous transformation from sinner to saint through the Holy Spirit. "It wasn't five minutes after that He made me a saint." The Holy Ghost lives within, constantly inviting to "come." Revelation 22:17 The Spirit and the Bride say, "Come." The Holy Spirit is fully given at salvation, not partially. "You didn't get part of the Holy Spirit...You got the Holy Spirit." The Holy Spirit sets up a "home" within and says, "Come." Jesus' Grief and Compassion Jesus was grieved by the events leading up to the invitation in Matthew 11. He was troubled by the imprisonment of John the Baptist and the disciples' lack of understanding. Jesus rebuked those who followed John half-heartedly. He pronounced "woe" upon cities that did not repent despite witnessing His mighty works. "Woe unto thee, Chorazin! Woe unto thee, Bethsaida!" Jesus thanked the Father for hiding truths from the "wise and prudent" a...

A Delhi court dismissed a revision petition from Kapil Mishra, a BJP leader and Delhi's Law and Justice Minister, regarding a case under the Representation of the People Act. The court found that Mishra strategically used the term "Pakistan" in his statements to incite hatred and communal polarisation for electoral gain in 2020. Specifically, his remarks about "mini-Pakistans" in Delhi and an "India vs Pakistan" contest on election day were deemed attempts to promote enmity based on religion. The court asserted that the implicit reference to a particular religious community was easily understood as an attempt to generate conflict. Mishra's lawyer argued that his statements referred to a country, not a group of people. However, the judge rejected this argument, asserting that the implication was clear.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Its goals include advocating for historically marginalized or underrepresented groups, evaluating city policies or regulations for potential barriers they may create and recommending how to remove them. The commission is one of two community advisory groups convened by Bend’s Accessibility and Equity Department, which also provides linguistic services to non-native English speakers, and an array of other programs and training on diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility. Meanwhile, Deschutes County commissioners recently voted to end the county’s DEIA committee. Andrés Portela, Bend’s equity and inclusion director, joins us to talk about his efforts amid the Trump administration’s backlash against DEI initiatives in government agencies, institutions and workplaces

Transformation Week 3Description:In Week 3 of our TRANSFORMATION series, we tackle a foundational truth: Our behavior flows from our identity. What we believe about ourselves determines how we live. Are we living out of a distorted identity shaped by lies, or are we rooted in Christ? Through scriptures like John 8:44-45 and Ephesians 4:21-24, we uncover how to break destructive cycles and embrace the new self God has called us to be.Detailed Overview:Series: TRANSFORMATIONWeek: 3Big Idea: Our identity in Christ shapes our behavior. To experience transformation, we must align our beliefs about ourselves with God's truth.Key Scriptures:John 8:44-45: Exposes the enemy's lies that distort our identity.2 Corinthians 5:17: Declares that in Christ, we are new creations.Ephesians 4:21-24: Calls us to put off the old self and embrace the new self in righteousness.Philippians 4:12-13: Teaches contentment in all circumstances through Christ's strength.Romans 8:37: Affirms that we are more than conquerors through Christ.Sermon Highlights:Why Do We Do What We Do?Our habits are shaped by a deeper force—our identity.Three secondary reasons we act: obligation, desire, or validation. The DO flows from the WHO: What we believe about ourselves drives our choices. The Enemy's Lies vs. God's TruthThe devil wants us to believe we are our mistakes and failures.John 8:44-45: The enemy is a liar, and his goal is to distort our identity.2 Corinthians 5:17: In Christ, we are made new.Breaking the CycleA distorted identity leads to destructive habits, which reinforce the distorted identity.True transformation happens when our identity is rooted in Christ, leading to Christ-like actions. How Jesus Modeled Identity-Driven LivingWhen hungry, He relied on God's Word. (Matthew 4:4)When angry, He acted with righteous purpose and grace. When lonely, He sought intimacy with the Father. When tired, He rested and prioritized solitude.Living from Identity, Not for ItEphesians 4:21-24: Calls us to put off the old self and be renewed in Christ.Philippians 4:12-13: Teaches that our worth isn't found in circumstances but in Christ.Romans 8:37: We are victorious, not victims.Application: 21-Day Prayer ChallengePray daily for God to renew your mind and identity in Him.Reject lies and replace them with God's truth.Live from the identity God has given you, not the one the world imposes.Takeaway: Transformation isn't just about changing habits—it's about changing how we see ourselves. Root your identity in Christ, and your life will reflect His truth.Write something...

It's Inauguration Day, Monday, January 20th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Indonesian officials allow church permit Want some good news about our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ? Well, a church in East Jakarta, Indonesia, is getting a home after 56 years without one, reports International Christian Concern. The Pasundan Christian Church Congregation of Kampung Tengah recently received a certificate of ownership from Nusron Wahid, the minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning. The certificate handover, which took place on Christmas Day 2024, marked the end of the congregation's long journey in obtaining legal certainty for the land they use as a place of worship. As officially recognized landowners, the congregation, established in 1968, can now conduct worship more calmly and comfortably. President-elect Donald Trump to be sworn in today Today, President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn in to serve a second term as the 47th president of the United States of America. The swearing-in ceremony, which is expected to begin at 12 noon Eastern Time, will feature Trump getting sworn in on two Bibles – the Bible his mother gave him in 1955 at First Presbyterian Church in Jamaica, New York and the Bible Abraham Lincoln used in 1861, reports The Hill.com. Exodus 18:21 offers guidance for selecting civic leadership. Our leaders should be “men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain.” Because of the frigid weather forecast today in the nation's capital, Trump's inauguration ceremony has been moved indoors to the Capitol rotunda. The last time the ceremony was held indoors was in January 1985 for President Ronald Reagan. Country music star Carrie Underwood will perform “America the Beautiful.” Other performers include Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Lee Greenwood as well as Liberty University's Praise Choir. You can watch the inauguration on any major news outlet and at CSPAN beginning at 12 noon Eastern. Trump's Defense Chief pick affirms support for Israel In the midst of the Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Trump nominee Pete Hegseth to be Secretary of Defense, a protestor interrupted the proceedings to make this verbal accusation against Hegseth. PROTESTOR: “You are a Christian Zionist.” Republican Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas followed up with this comment and question. COTTON: “The first one accused you of being a Christian Zionist. I'm not really sure why that is a bad thing. I'm a Christian. I'm a Zionist. Zionism is that the Jewish people deserve a homeland in the ancient holy land where they've lived since the dawn of history. Do you consider yourself a Christian Zionist?” HEGSETH: “I'm a Christian, and I robustly support the State of Israel and its existential defense. And the way America comes alongside them as a great ally. COTTON: “Great. Thank you. Another protester, and I think this one was a member of Code Pink, which, by the way, is a Chinese communist front group these days, said that you support Israel's war in Gaza. I support Israel's existential war in Gaza. I assume, like me and President Trump, you support that war as well, don't you?” HEGSETH: “Senator, I do. I support Israel destroying and killing every last member of Hamas.” Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has vowed to uphold Trump's pro-life policies Following four years of the Biden administration reversing the pro-life federal policies established during President Trump's first term, Republican senators are expressing confidence that the incoming Trump administration will re-implement pro-life policies, reports LifeNews.com. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris allowed federal funds to go to abortion businesses, blocked pregnancy resource centers from receiving federal funds, and used tax dollars to promote abortion internationally. After Trump nominated former Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to serve as his secretary for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, concerns arose that pro-life policies would be sidelined. During his presidential run, Kennedy had called the abortion issue “nuanced and complex” and also said that the state should not “dictate choices that the woman is making” regarding abortion. He has also previously supported (and walked back support for) three-month pro-life protections. However, Senate Republicans like Josh Hawley of Missouri say they have received personal assurances from Kennedy that he will not pursue pro-abortion policies while in office and will, in fact, enact pro-life ones. Last month, Hawley posted a series of tweets describing his conversation with Kennedy regarding the issue. Hawley wrote, Kennedy “committed to me to reinstate President Trump's pro-life policies at HHS. That includes reinstating the Mexico City policy & ending taxpayer funding for abortions domestically.” The senator further noted Kennedy's promise to have all pro-life deputies at Health and Human Services, and that he “believes there are far too many abortions in the US and that we cannot be the moral leader of the free world with abortion rates so high.” In addition, Hawley stated that Kennedy promised to reinstate “the bar on Title X funds going to organizations that promote abortion” and to “reinstate conscience protections for healthcare providers.” This morning, Biden that “the Equal Rights Amendment is now the law of the land.” Well, there you have it: The Constitution has a 28th amendment, and women's rights have been enshrined across the country. Biden falsely claimed Equal Rights Amendment part of Constitution On Friday, President Joe Biden falsely claimed that the Equal Rights Amendment had become the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Listen. BIDEN: “Just over 100 years ago, a pioneering group of women proposed Equal Rights Amendment to enshrine the principles of gender equality our Constitution. Throughout my career, I've been clear. No one should be discriminated against based on their sex. “And in order for the amendment to be ratified, it requires three-fourths of the states to ratify it. That benchmark was passed when Virginia ratified the E.R.A. a few years ago. “Today, I affirm the Equal Rights Amendment to have cleared all the necessary hurdles to be added to the U.S. Constitution now. The Equal Rights Amendment is the law of the land now. It's the 28th Amendment to the Constitution now. “I consulted dozens of constitutional scholars to make sure there was all within the power to do this, and the fact is, we did.” However, according to the National Archive and Records Administration Archivist Colleen Shogan, the Equal Rights Amendment died on June 30, 1982 when only 35 states ratified it, reports The Epoch Times. 50,000 Scriptural booklets will be handed to inauguration attendees Dozens of volunteers led by a Florida-based Christian ministry are expecting to give out 50,000 Bible booklets to attendees at the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump today, reports The Christian Post. The evangelistic organization Faith & Liberty, working with Seedline International and HOPE to the Hill, will pass out the Bible booklets, which contain the scriptural books of John and Romans, to commemorate President Donald Trump's 2025 Inauguration. Peggy Nienaber, the Senior Vice President of Faith & Liberty, said, “In times of national division like America has recently seen, a new presidential administration can offer hope. The commemorative scripture booklets were published for this significant occasion for that same reason — to offer hope to people in the Savior Jesus Christ.” In Isaiah 55:11, God said, “My word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Inauguration Day, Monday, January 20th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued with our theme of the power of praise, and we discussed the power of praise to affirm. Even God affirmed His son! The scripture reference was Matthew 3:16-17. Our special guest was Dr. Robert Lewis, founder of Better Man. He is a pastor, speaker, and author of many books, including "Raising a Modern-Day Knight." He shared the power of affirmation between men and their sons and between men and men. Finally, since it is Wednesday, we enjoyed "Ally Thinks It's Funny." It's Wednesday, September 4th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark 55,000 Nigerians killed between 2019 and 2023 The Observatory for Religious Freedom in Africa released a report last month on Christian persecution in Nigeria. Violence in the country has taken the lives of over 55,000 people between 2019 and 2023. Of those, over 30,000 were civilians, including 16,769 Christians. Radical Muslim Fulani herdsmen were responsible for over half of the Christian deaths. The observatory noted, “In states where attacks occur, proportional loss to Christian communities is exceptionally high. In terms of state populations, 6.5 times as many Christians are being murdered as Muslims.” Please pray for the persecuted church in Nigeria, ranked 6th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most dangerous to be a Christian. Psalm 14:4, 7 asks, “Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and do not call on the LORD? … Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD brings back the captivity of His people.” People looking for leaders who will champion religious freedom Pew Research released a survey finding people around the world want leaders who stand up for religious freedom. In the U.S., 64% of adults said it is important to have a leader who stands up for people who share the respondents' religious beliefs. A majority of people in most other countries surveyed said the same thing. Countries with high levels of support for leaders sharing their religious beliefs included Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, India, and Kenya. Countries with the lowest levels of support for this included France, South Korea, Japan, Spain, and Sweden. 7,500 pro-lifers attend India's March for Life Pro-lifers in India held their 2024 National March for Life last month. The event took place in the southern city of Thrissur and drew over 7,500 people. It was the country's largest March for Life. India legalized abortion back in 1971. Now, mothers in the country kill 15 million of their pre-born children per year. Bishop Gerald John Mathias attended the recent march and told Life Site News, “I'm grateful to the youth, particularly the youth taking interest. It's most encouraging for the future of the Church, future of the society, future of families.” Donald Trump champions in vitro fertilization In the United States, former President Donald Trump said he would make in-vitro fertilization (IVF) free for Americans if he is elected. Last Thursday, Trump told NBC News' Dasha Burns “it's helping women [be] able to have a baby....We need great children, beautiful children in our country.” Here's a soundbite from that interview. TRUMP: “So, we are paying for that treatment.” BURNS: “All Americans who want it?” TRUMP: “All Americans that get it; all Americans that need it. So, we're going to be paying for that treatment, or we're going to be mandating that the insurance company pays.” However, many oppose in vitro fertilization as undermining pro-life goals. CatholicVote noted, “We are opposed to any In Vitro Fertilization mandate and will work with [Trump] and his administration to make clear that IVF puts women at risk, and destroys countless innocent living human embryos.” Only 54% of Protestant Evangelical attend church in person Lifeway Research published analysis of a 2024 report by Grey Matter Research and Infinity Concepts entitled “Church After COVID.” The report found only 54 percent of Protestant Evangelicals attend church in-person every week. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic nearly 90 percent of Evangelicals were attending semi-regularly. Online viewing of services has increased; however, many of those engaging online are also attending in person. The study also found about a quarter of churchgoers started attending their current church since the pandemic, marking significant changes in the makeup of churches post-COVID. Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” Archeological find from Biblical Jerusalem affirms Scripture And finally, the Israeli Antiquities Authority announced the discovery of a stone seal at the City of David National Park in Jerusalem. Archaeologists believe it is from the First Temple period, around 2,700 years old. The seal bears a name inscribed in Old Hebrew script and a winged figure associated with pagan Neo-Assyrian influences. Ze'ev Orenstein with the City of David Foundation told Fox News the seal “joins the list of countless archeological discoveries in the City of David — the historic site of Biblical Jerusalem — affirming Jerusalem's Biblical heritage.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, September 4th, in the year of our Lord 2024.
