The symbol often worn by Christians is a cross. Imagine wearing an electric chair as a symbol. Hear what the apostle Mark tells us of the horrific death of Jesus on a cross and the collision of death and victory on that cross
#4 A @Christadelphians Video: Description: While Jesus was taken away to be crucified, and on the cross, he interacted with many different people. Some of them loved him; some hated him; others were doing their job, incidentally providing unintended witness to the fact that he was Israel's king and high priest. These encounters show Jesus' care for his mother, his compassion for the suffering that would come upon his nation, and the scriptures that were in his mind.
What if the cross wasn’t an object—an action of punishment . . . rather, what if it is a place—an action of Gods self-emptying love? The crucifixion is what we did to him—we took his life. The Cross is what Christ did for us—he gave his life.

On this episode I'm joined by Salem Vex of Crucifiction. We discuss how the band was born out of his previous project Bloodbather, creating the album artwork, writing gruesome lyrics, the inspiration for its concept, MySpace era deathcore, his other band The Requiem, progress on his solo album, and loads more.A new episode will be released every Thursday.-----HOW TO SUPPORT THE PODCAST:
In the latest episode of the You Make The Scene podcast, I had a great conversation with Salem Vex, the creative mind behind the band CRUCIFICTION. We covered a wide range of topics, starting with his transition from his previous band/project, Bloodbather, to this fresh and exciting venture with CRUCIFICTION. Salem shared the challenges and the excitement of stepping into a new chapter and how that has influenced the writing and sound for CRUCIFICTION's upcoming album, "Will To Power", which is set to release on October 11th via Rise Records.A key highlight of our conversation was Salem's unique approach to crafting conceptual albums. He discussed how he begins writing in the middle of the story, allowing the natural progression to lead him toward both the beginning and the end. This unconventional method not only brings a dynamic structure to the album but also adds a cinematic, non-linear arc to the overall narrative. Salem gave us a deeper look into the themes and emotional depth of "Will To Power", offering insight into the album's powerful message and what fans can expect from this new chapter of his artistic journey. We also explored the intricacies of songwriting, the importance of authenticity in his music, and the transition into this new project after Bloodbather. There's so much more packed into this episode, making it a must-listen for anyone interested in the creative process, conceptual music, and the evolution of an artist. Blood pacts are not as uncommon as you may think! And, we definitely want to clear them. I am intuiting that this is a HUGE time for Return to Rightful Owner. In my Re*Source 8 week live group right now, we are using the affirmation "I (full name), am calling all of my resources back to myself."

It's crazy, for my kind of beauty, to see the gospels very from each other. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were written for different groups of believers at different times and have different rhetorical goals. This week we dive into the Gospel of John and what it says about the crucifixion of Christ.

On the night he was betrayed, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”Later that night, in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayed, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”Those 8 simple words set a course of events that would forever change the entire world. The only way that we can experience Salvation is through Christ death on the Cross. We can discuss, cry, fight and debate as much as we want, but God's Word is clear and that sacrifice needed to be made to fulfil the law. And thought it is a sad and difficult thing for Him, Christ made the decision to carry His cross for all of our sakes.
Samuel the Lamanite had prophecied of the signs of Jesus crucifiction and the believers watched and waited. Storms came, and earthquakes, great destruction, a mists of darkness. A voice came from heaven saying Wo unto the people. It told the people He was Christ the Son of God that came to help us find the way to truth and happiness. He told them I am the Light of the World. He told them all who came to him and repented, He would receive. He wanted all of them to turn to Him and find hope again. He taught them that everything that had been prophesied that He would do, He had accomplished. That He is our Savior and we can turn to Him and be saved.

It's about time! Kristyna kicks things off with the weird story of the Crucifiction of Margaretta Peter, then Amanda tells us the gross and smelly story of Susan Monica. ***** Content Warning ***** This podcast series uses strong language and explicit content. If you are easily triggered by either of these listener discretion is advised. Also note we use dark humor as our own way of coping with the dark content we discuss and also because we may be terrible people… It's fine

As a child, I remember often being told, "Jesus died on the cross for your sins." He did? More than anything, this was profoundly confusing. (I remember thinking, "but he didn't even know me...."). In previous episodes (ep. 28 & 44), we have come to know Jesus as a wisdom teacher. We have come to understand his message of oneness. So how do we make sense of his teachings and the messages of sin & judgment? Patricia Pearce -- spiritual teacher and author of Beyond Jesus -- is back on the show to share her beautiful wisdom. With her unique perspective from having been a Presbyterian pastor for 17 years and experiencing her own awakening, she illuminates the stories we have been told, where they come from, and provides an inspiring new interpretation of the cross and the resurrection. If you'd like a copy of Beyond Jesus, Patricia has generously offered our listeners a 25% discount off the cover price. Order here. Use the promo code SOULPATH.
