This is the time of year you think about getting someone special something special. I was reading about this guy Michael Santoro who I didn't know about who makes the most beautiful things I ever saw. I'm smitten with his talent and his ethics. A MacCase by the guy who designed inside the Gulfstream jet? Who wouldn't want that gift? Michael Santoro is a multi award winning automotive designer artist and entrepreneur. Besides designing for Chrysler and Vector the man actually designed the interior of the Gulfstream Jets! Now with his own company ‘MacCase' Michael has designed gorgeous leather travel bags briefcases and accessories for Apple Products. Class act creations. You'll enjoy hearing his story on this podcast after you hear me ‘stall' a little as I wait for him to show up. He apologized of course. Luckily I stall good. LOL I talk about how on any given day something is going on behind the scenes with everybody it's just a matter of ‘what' it is right? And you just try and dance in between those crazy moments. ************************ Dancing back to my guest, Michael Santoro. Michael spent 6 years as an automotive designer at Chrysler. They recognized his gift of design early and brought him on board to help design some notable cars. The ground breaking, cab-forward exterior design for the 1995 Car of the Year, a first generation Chrysler Cirrus and the Dodge Stratus. Also Michaels designs helped return the 1996-2006 Jeep Wrangler, back to its iconic roots. As a consulting designer for Walter Dorwin Teague in NYC, America's oldest design consultancy, Michael worked for 2 years on design interiors for Boeing Aerospace and the production interior for the Gulfstream G5 aircraft. Michael was a design consultant on the Vector M12 production supercar and Vector M12 "American Anthem" North American International Auto Show show car. Additional projects included the Lamborghini Jota. When he left corporate America to start his own design company his father didn't think it was a smart thing. He thought his son was crazy to leave Chrysler and go to on his own with zero experience. Michael said, “He kept reminding me that I went to art school not business school and that I knew nothing about running a company. Here I am 25 years later and things are still going ok.” Most of us know from experience that when parents make a doubtful or negative comment about your life choices, they can really get under your skin. Should you still listen to their advice? Tough call. Michael said, “I think that its been my experience that whatever my parents tell me to do if I do the opposite I'm doing really well. I'm moving in the right direction in my life. Parents want the best for they kids so they tend to be protective I totally understand that. I know that I'm moving in the right direction if my parents are feeling fearful about a decision I'm trying to make, and then I know I need to go in that direction. (Sounds exactly how my daughter and son-in-law deal with me these days LOL) Michael knew he had to…Risk It or Regret It! “Once the company got up and running and My Dad saw the freedom it brought me and how I could go from concept to production in a matter of weeks he saw the freedom it brought me. He totally understood and he was on board.” “Freedom and Creativity” are two values high on both my own and Michaels' list. Like many creatives, Michaels ideas arrive in the shower, at night in dreams and on napkins at lunch. His dreams are about design and he gives a lot of credit to his training at Pratt in Brooklyn. “They have a very systematic way about thinking about design” said Michael. ( Nice plug for Pratt) Now to the beautiful things he makes with ethically sourced leather from India where cows are beautiful animals treated with love and their body parts only become useful after they pass naturally. It all started In 1999, when Michael Santoro created the Apple-specific case market with the launch of his company, MacCase. I wondered did Michael make a strategic partnership with Apple? Otherwise how could he legally use the word Mac for anything without them? "The company was a few months old when we went to the MacWorld show in San Francisco for the first time. We had one product in the line. We had no idea how the Apple community was going to react to this strange design for Mac iBook case. Luckily, the response was overwhelmingly positive. It was the right product at the right time, a true blue ocean strategies moment. When we got back from the show on Monday morning the phone rang. It was Apple's legal department. "We saw your products at the MacWorld show", the voice said flatly. "I just wanted to congratulate you. You're the first person to figure out how to use the Apple logo without getting sued. Best of luck to you." "It was at the moment I realized we might be on to something." - Michael Santoro, President / Chief Creative Officer Enjoy this great podcast conversation of the live interview with Michael Santoro on The Debbie Nigro Show.
Episode 52 Sandra Eckert70 year old mother and grandmother, Sandra Eckert went missing on March 26, 2021.She was last known to be at her home on the 7200 block of South North Cape Road in Franklin, Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwaukee. Her husband claimed that she threatened to leave following an argument and that she had been drinking. He claims he took keys to one of their vehicles to stop her, but that she still managed to leave the house in a second vehicle in the very early morning hours. Police saw the vehicle, a Gray 2005 Dodge Stratus with WI license plate #319LGT, but it was unclear whether Sandra was driving. Police didn't pull it over because Sandra had not been reported missing yet. Had they done so, there may be answers in the case. Sandra was never seen again, nor was her car. Due to Sandra's husband's story changing and his admittedly cold relationship with Sandra, he's a prime person of interest in the case, and suspicion of him had caused major division in the family forcing family members to take sides. In this episode, Sandra's daughter Kelsey walks us through her Mom's mysterious and frustrating case, and helps us understand what's going on behind the scenes.Sandra is 5'7″ and weighs 130lbs, she has blonde hair and green eyes. She was last wearing black leggings, colorful tennis shoes, and a large navy blue and teal North Carolina Tarheels starter jacketAnyone with information is asked to call Franklin Police Department at 414-425-2522.Visit the HelpfindSandy Facebook page:https://www.facebook.com/HelpFindSandy

In 2003 Donohue joined Brumos Racing in their Porsche-powered, Daytona Prototype in the Grand Am's new top class. In 2005 Porsche enlisted Donohue to drive their Carrera GT road car to a closed course lap record speed of over 196 mph and a closed course flying mile record speed of over 198 mph. In addition to his racing duties in 2006, Donohue was also an IROC test driver for the season.
Are you pretending to be deaf to impress your edgy music rivals? We here at This is Nothing Podcast believe we have a shitty tagline and its time for a change. Matt and Nate discuss ideas for a new tagline, the evil that is the big boats provided by Princess Cruise lines, A lying Japanese composer, A porn star behind and in front of the camera, and a carnivorous flying squirrel. Thing changes the show while people actively listen is a bad idea? Rome wasn't built in a day, and it definitely would have failed earlier if these two were at the helm.

Les, Kurt, and Jason go for a second week in a row with no Blac Chyna News. Thankfully, though, Kurt comes through with news that Eric Roberts was on the latest episode of Grey's Anatomy! That timing is fortuitous since the guys decided to watch another Eric Roberts Lifetime movie, Stalked by My Doctor. They all loved Just What the Doctor Ordered so much, so they decided to go back to where this cinematic universe began… and it did not disappoint! Soapboxing about texting and driving, check! Unfriending someone on social media as the ultimate middle finger, check! Sniffing a doll's clothes before beating the absolute s*** out of another doll in a fit of entitled rage, check! This movie serves up lunacy and infuriating misogyny in ample amounts, and still has time to work in multiple chloroform scenes. We can talk about it all at the backyard funeral! Richard Martin and I went to New Orleans Thursday via a gambling junket. It is a pretty neat package and very inexpensive. For $99.00 we each got a round trip ticket to Biloxi Mississippi, two nights in a very nice hotel. Also included is transportation to and from the hotel Casino Magic and the airport, and meal tickets for their fabulous buffets for three meals. Any time you are in the casino you are waited on hand and foot with complimentary drinks ( I wonder why) and Bay St. Louis is only an hour's drive from New Orleans. We rented a Dodge Stratus for $20.00 per day and drove to New Orleans on Friday. We drove around the streets and I admired all of the French iron work decorating the battered balconies of the overcrowded upstairs housing. It looked like something from a movie set. It is hard to believe people can live so closely crowded together and under such poor conditions. Parking was just non existent as were things like plants and flowers. The trees were much like our grandfather oaks here with their gnarled and twisted branches. The drive from Bay Saint Louis to New Orleans was worth making the whole trip for. An hour of driving along pristine beaches complete with sand dunes and sea oats on the south side and beautiful homes of every sort of design, but mostly the Victorian I love so much on the north side. The weather was the kind you would custom order and yet only two people were taking advantage of a nice brisk walk on that entire length of beach. The shrimp and oyster boats were lined up on the horizon and the sun was like diamonds on the lapping tide. There were numerous docks, some leading far out into the Gulf, but most were deserted except for the occasional fisherman. This is the sort of place I could pull off the road and run as far as I could run, gulping in the salty sea air; running until all I could do is walk and then I would walk until I could walk no more. What greater reward then but to flop down in the sugar white sand and take in the beauty all around me until the moon would rise up over the water and the stars would pierce through the black velvet sky? Richard Martin wanted to go shopping at Goodwill and Hudson's (a little discount store) and as always we argued over dressing to look like every other yuppie or showing some sense of individualism. Fortunately we were able to carry this argument further than before and Richard Martin said that he recognized that he is argumentative and that he really enjoys a battle of wits, provided “it reaches some sort of resolution.” I take that to mean, as long as I always tell him he is right and he gets the feeling that he won. He claims that he could be wrong, but I really find that to be no more than lip service based upon past discussions. I do enjoy arguing and don't take his approach as hard as I did initially. I admitted to him that I will argue just for fun as long as I am not stressing him out, but that I am not inclined to believe that all issues will have a resolution as many things are just a matter of personal opinion. We talked about the heavy stuff that we often do whenever we are alone together. I told him that I believe I am the best thing that will ever happen to him, but if he isn't capable of recognizing that and seizing the opportunity, then perhaps he is not the best thing that has ever happened to me. He said that he wanted to be cautious because he wants to be sure before jumping into a relationship that could really hurt him. He said that because he chose to be with me this weekend, his relationship with Zena was pretty much over with. I don't believe it, but I didn't tell him so. He'll prove me right or wrong. When we got back to the room there was a message from the desk saying “Meir Lansky will take care of this” and a message on the phone that sounded like a woman impersonating a male gangster saying” Meir Lansky will get you for this”. I thought the person was saying Myra and didn't know what to make of it, but Richard Martin says that Zena has some low life gangster relative named Meir, who is supposed to be as unconscionable as Capone. It bothers me the way people make Mafia out to be some glamorous society for protecting the ways of their people. They are nothing but criminals with enough stolen money to stay out of jail. Richard Martin says he shouldn't have told Donna where he was going and seems to think it was Larry that called and not Zena. I would like to know why Larry would feel compelled to threaten for Zena's sake when he is the one who keeps telling Richard Martin he should tell her about me rather than continue to lead her on into thinking that she is in a monogamous relationship. This bothers me too. If he would lie to her, then what would keep him from lying to me? I have had it with lying, cheating men. I've told him twice now, there are only two things that I can't live with. One is infidelity and the other is him trying to control my family. I'll tolerate his impositions because most of the things that are a big deal to him are of no consequence either way to me. I can be the chameleon if that makes him happy, but no one is going to demand that from my family. He says he would not cheat on me, once committed, which he warily has not, and that he would not impose himself on my family. I don't think I am asking a lot, but I do think that for him to do so is giving a lot because it is so in his nature to try and manipulate and control everything and every one around him. I asked him about what it was like to be a bachelor for as long as he was. He said it was great and that he never would have changed it of his own volition because it was so nice to call up a woman and have her come spend the night and then he may not see her for a few weeks and he would call someone else who hadn't seen him for a while and they would be so happy to see him that they would have a great time. This sounds like the life so many men want and I asked what changed his mind to marriage. He loved Susan but she wouldn't live with him without marriage because of the influence on her daughter. He didn't want to lose her entirely and agreed to get married because he felt she had left her husband to be with him. I wonder how much of this was her planning and how much of it was coincidental? I also don't understand, if this was planned, then why did she bail out? What was so lacking or so awful that she would go through the last two years in court to divorce him? I hope to find out before it is too late. I really want this to work and I can make most anything work, but I don't think I have all of the information yet. I met Ian Anderson, the lead singer with Jethrow Tull a rock group from my era a couple weeks ago. He was playing at Ruth Eckerd Hall and is an avid cat person. He has traveled all over the globe visiting cat refuges and sanctuaries. He really liked our operation based on a global comparison and I felt good about that. His favourite cat is the Tigrina and he knows Pat Quillan and her work with those little guys. He liked Nirvana and had several pictures made with her, and Enya the Cougar and Takoma the Bobcat. He said we can use his image and his endorsement of us in our advertising if that would help. I've been writing my story since I was able to write, but when the media goes to share it, they only choose the parts that fit their idea of what will generate views. If I'm going to share my story, it should be the whole story. The titles are the dates things happened. If you have any interest in who I really am please start at the beginning of this playlist: http://savethecats.org/ I know there will be people who take things out of context and try to use them to validate their own misconception, but you have access to the whole story. Tonight we chat with our new friend Margot Wolf (@Margotwolfjewelry), a Texas based jeweler that we just met like running into someone at a bar. Despite being someone who produces high end bolo-ties and has owned multiple Dodge Strati (Is that the plural for a Dodge Stratus?), she's a pretty cool person! We learn all about flying squirrels as pets, discuss our favorite pizzas, and carnivorous plants. In the end, we find out that Margot and Lindsay went to the same college, at about the same time! CRAZY! Small world!I hope you enjoyed making this stranger into a friend as much as we did!
Today we talk about oddball race cars! Yes, a factory backed Dodge Stratus race team once existed! The dutch built, belt-driven DAF once dominated rally stages in the late 60s! We talk about the plans for the now-dead Liam Nissan, and Ethan talks about his latest press car, a 2020 Kia Soul GT Line. Come join us!

In Episode 47, What Happened to Bradley?, we take you to Coliseum and State, the intersection of two boulevards in Fort Wayne where, around 10 p.m. on Nov. 19, 2004, two men were struck by a 2004 Dodge Stratus that ran a red light. The driver of the Stratus fled and has never been identified. Investigators assumed Bradley Dale Ross was behind the wheel. After all, the vehicle belonged to his fiancée, Sarah. But Bradley’s sister tells The Vanished that he would never have dropped off the grid as many believed he has, not with a child on the way. In this episode, show producer, Nathan, and The Vanished host and creator, Marissa, grapple with a timeline that doesn’t line up as neatly as it should. Things get stranger still when we called detective Cary Young and realized a missed connection may have allowed a murder to slip through the cracks.
