Veronica Santoro è nata e vive a Verona.

Have you ever said “thank you” to a chatbot or Chat GPT? Well, you're not alone—and you might just be weirder than you think. It turns out AI can be more empathic than people. But what do Customers think of AI experiences? Academic research reveals the answers we discuss in this show.  In this special live-recorded episode from the SOCAP Conference, Colin Shaw and Professor Ryan Hamilton explore the psychology behind how customers actually feel about AI—and what that means for your customer experience. Ryan dives into the latest academic research on AI trust, customer behaviour, and why people treat AI like it's part of the cast of Friends. Meanwhile, Colin keeps things grounded with real-life examples with his usual “so what?” test. What You'll Learn in This Episode: Why 50% of customers trust companies less when they know AI is involved How AI literacy backfires (the more people understand it, the less they use it!) The subtle “outgroup” bias customers apply to AI systems Why hedonic recommendations (like chocolate) must come from humans How one bad AI interaction can poison the well for all future ones What the hell “personification” means—and why it matters for your brand The surprising emotional tension behind AI adoption (it's empowering and scary) Best Quote from the Episode: “AI isn't human, but customers treat it like it is—and that means it's being judged by human standards. If it screws up once, they'll remember. And they'll blame all AI for it.” – Professor Ryan Hamilton Resources Mentioned This podcast is sponsored by SOCAP International and IA Solutions, who are both as passionate about improving customer experience as we are.

It's Die Hard in a casino! This week, hosts Phil and Liam are stepping into the swirling, neon-drenched chaos of Brian De Palma's SNAKE EYES (1998) - joined by none other than Travis Woods, the highly acclaimed film writer who is literally writing the book on De Palma.During a high-profile boxing match in Atlantic City, corrupt local detective Rick Santoro (Nicolas Cage) witnesses the assassination of the U.S. Secretary of Defense, who was being guarded by his best friend, US Navy Commander Kevin Dunne (Gary Sinise). With thousands of people trapped inside the casino, and a hurricane on the way, the building becomes a deadly pressure cooker, and as Santoro unearths a dark conspiracy, he must decide whether to take a pay off and look the other way…or risk everything to expose the truth. What follows is a pressure-cooker thriller set almost entirely inside this one building, packed with impossibly complex tracking shots, split diopters galore, and some of the most ostentatious filmmaking flexes of De Palma's career. We break down how Snake Eyes really is both “Die Hard in a casino” and “Die Hard 2 in a casino”, why it's a perfect showcase for Cage's full-throttle charisma, and how De Palma - the king of cinematic maximalism - injects pure operatic style into a film that's basically one long unraveling conspiracy. Plus, Travis takes us deep into De Palma's career, his recurring themes of surveillance, voyeurism, and deception, and where Snake Eyes fits amidst the great man's remarkable legacy. So throw on your loudest suit, place your bets, and join us as we go all-in on this gloriously demented, spectacularly sleazy thriller! The plot thickens as Santoro is drawn into a botched robbery scheme alongside Pitera asociates Frank Gangi and Billy Bright. Their inexperience with residential break-ins quickly turns their plans for fast cash into a chaotic encounter. Breaking into a Russian jeweler's home, they find themselves face-to-face with an elderly woman, struggling to keep control. The tension is palpable, showing how the criminal life can spiral out of control, especially for those unprepared for its high stakes and brutal outcomes. As we unfold the story, we reveal connections between the Bonanno and Genovese crime families, as Frank Gangi attempts to profit from the heist by selling the stolen jewelry to mob contacts, including a Genovese captain. As different factions vie for control and respect, this meeting underscores the razor-thin balance required to survive in this world, where even the smallest oversight can unravel alliances. In this episode of the Epigenetics Podcast, we talked with Johnathan Whetstine from Fox Chase Cancer Center about his work on how histone demethylases affect gene expression and cancer cell stability. The Interview start by discussing a pivotal paper from Jonathan's lab in 2010, where they identified a role for the KDM4A histone demethylase in replication timing and cell cycle progression. They elaborate on the discoveries made regarding the link between histone marks, replication timing, and gene expression control. Jonathan explains the impact of microRNAs on regulating KDM4A and how protein turnover rates can influence cellular responses to treatments like mTOR inhibitors. Further, they explore the causal relationship between histone marks and replication timing, demonstrating how alterations in epigenetic regulation can affect genome stability. Jonathan shares insights from his latest research on H3K9 methylation balance at the MLL-KM2A locus, elucidating how these epigenetic modifications regulate amplifications and rearrangements in cancer cells. The episode concludes with a discussion on the establishment of the Cancer Epigenetics Institute at Fox Chase Cancer Center, aiming to bridge academia and industry to accelerate translational research in cancer epigenetics.   References Black, J. #525 The Biggest Award in Comedy - Richard has been sent to Coventry and remembers a previous visit to the Warwick Arts Centre where he had to turn the other cheek. His guest is the winner of the biggest (and slowest) award in comedy, Lindsey Santoro. Find out what Lindsey spent her money from this RHLSTP backed award and listen as the award itself is inflated. Plus they chat about why it's so hard for working class acts to attend the Fringe, begrudging Guardian reviews, why still doing her day job keeps Lindsey grounded and gets her 50% off pizza, how her trademark pink hair came about, forgetting to get fully dressed for a TV appearance, the biggest animal she has had to get out of her house and she tells a story that possibly explains all ghosts. And is Lindsey bound for superstardom and how will that affect her trips to Aldi?See a live recording of RHLSTP - https://richardherring.com/rhlstpSUPPORT THE SHOW!Watch our TWITCH CHANNELSee extra content at our WEBSITE Become a member at https://plus.acast.com/s/rhlstp.
