Its a giant uphill battle to reach the playoffs but is there a certain win streak that would get you excited at the prospect? The Good: The Las Vegas Raiders are on this run on the back of a big win over the Los Angeles Chargers in NFL week 13. Josh Jacobs, Davante Adams, Derek and Josh McDaniels all had big performances. The offensive line had its best performance of the season pass blocking. Nate Hobbs returned from injured reserve and had a great game. Chandler Jones had his biggest game of the season BY FAR with three sacks. Defensive backs Isiah Pola-Mao and Duron Harmon came up huge as well. The Bad: The turnover monster appeared against the Chargers. Josh Jacobs is one of the best ball control running backs in the NFL but he lost a fumble. Derek Carr threw a pick six as well. The third down offense and 4th down defense both need work. Justin Herbert is great on 4th down but its still not an excuse. The Ugly: The NFL referees missed a pass interference call that led to Derek Carr's interception. In Raiders news, Raiders vs Patriots was supposed to be on Sunday Night Football in primetime. It made sense with Josh McDaniels vs Bill Bellichick and two teams that were supposed to be in playoff contention all season. It didn't pan out that way so the NFL flexed the game out of primetime and replaced it with the Washington Commanders vs the New York Giants. The Raiders made a move at defensive tackle as well releasing Kendal Vickers and signing Kyle Peko. With the recent success, are the Raiders finally set at offensive line? Currently, Kolton Miller, Dylan Parham, Andre James, Alex Bars, Jermain Eluemunor are the Raiders starters and have performed well recently. The Raiders and Josh McDaniels rotated offensive lineman all season trying to find the perfect match and it looks like they might have found it. The Las Vegas Raiders visit the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football. The Raiders Rams matchup pits the Rams terrible offense against the Raiders vastly improved defense. Raiders vs Rams 2022 also comes down to the Rams' two back up quarterbacks and beat up offensive line against the Raiders newfound pass rush. Another big Raiders Rams matchup is the poor pass defense against Derek Carr and Davante Adams and also potentially the return of Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow. Also, The Davante Adams vs Jalen Ramsey matchup is the most important one-on-one matchup of the game. Ep.117 of The Autumn Windbags. RJ, Soto and Rory recorded one day early to dissect the 53 man roster announcement, discuss Darren Waller's contract rumors and Jon Gruden coming out of the woodwork. In Las Vegas Raiders news, along with the rest of the NFL, the Raiders cut down their roster to 53 players. Head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler put together a squad that still needs some work either through NFL free agency or by trade but can play Raiders football. Raiders 2022 Defense: On the defensive line, Maxx Crosby, Chandler Jones, Johnathan Hankins and Bilal Nichols will start. The Raiders will keep five linebackers in Denzel Perryman, Jayon Brown, Divine Deablo, Darien Butler and Luke Masterson. Cornerback was a wild position. The Trayvon Mullen trade sent Trayvon Mullen to the Arizona Cardinals. Sam Webb was a dark horse to make the squad but he did. Nate Hobbs and Rock Ya-Sin will probably start. The Raiders kept basically all their safeties: Johnathan Abram, Trevon Moehrig, Roderic Teamer, Duron Harmon and Isiah Palo-Mao. Trevon Moehrig Raiders career is looking bright. Raiders 2022 Offense: Derek Carr is the starter and backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham had a really good preseason. The Raiders have six running backs: Josh Jacobs, Zamir White, Ameer Abdullah, Brandon Bolden, Brittain Brown and fullback Jakob Johnson. Kenyan Drake didn't even make it this far going to the Baltimore Ravens. The Raiders wide receiver squad is one of the best in the NFL: Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow, Mack Hollins, Tyron Johnson and DJ Turner. Each receiver has a role. Davante Adams route running is unbeatable. Tyron is the speedster. Mack Hollins is the big receiver. Darren Waller, Foster Moreau and Jesper Horsted makes up one of the best tight end rooms in the NFL. The starting lineman currently looks like Kolton Miller, John Simpson, Andre James, Lester Cotton Sr. and Thayer Munford. Jackson Barton, Dylan Parham and Jermaine Eluemunor round out the back ups. In Raiders news today, Alex Leatherwood was released by the Raiders. Alex Leatherwood draft position at number 17 overall complicates everything. Alabama's Alex Leatherwood currently goes down as one of the biggest draft busts of all time. Leatherwood draws more attention to how bad Raiders drafts has been. Did Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler fail in how they handled Alex Leatherwood? According to Josina Anderson, Darren Waller is in the middle of a new deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. Former New England Patriots coaches continue to scoop up Bill Belichick's players. On Wednesday afternoon, veteran safety Duron Harmon was traded to the Detroit Lions. Harmon was a leader in the locker room who helped instill the Patriots culture. Free agent center Ted Karras signed a one-year, $4 million deal with the Miami Dolphins. Karras was a backup to David Andrews his first three seasons and was able to start in 2019 due to Andrews being placed on injured reserve. The Dolphins have the starting role all lined up for Karras.
