On May 6, Missouri's Endangered Wolf Center sent six tiny wolf pups to New Mexico on a rare journey. From that point on, the 10-day-old wolves will grow up wild. The center has raised 289 Mexican wolves since it was founded about 50 years ago by former St. Louis Zoo director — and host of “Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom” — Marlin Perkins. Sarah Holaday, the center's director of animal care and conservation, and Susan Schmoker, the center's curator, share their insights into the crucial role Missouri plays in restoring these apex predators in their natural environments.

We are brining you one of your favourite episodes on this holiday Monday. As our teens get older, we start to realize something big: our voice — the one they used to hang on every word of — isn't the loudest in their world anymore. Suddenly, we're just one of many voices competing for space. Their friends matter. Like, really matter. The people they hang out with can shape everything — for better or worse. Are we on the sidelines watching it all unfold, or are we still able to step in and say, “Hey… I'm not sure about this”? We brought in Marybeth Bock, MPH (Master of Public Health), to talk about how parents can approach these moments from a place of curiosity instead of judgment — and why that shift can make all the difference. Marybeth writes for platforms like Raising Teens Today, Grown and Flown, and Collegiate Parent, and she gets it. Cities and Memory - remixing the sounds of the world

"Cultural heritage can be a strange one, as it can range from mass cultural significance to something on a more personal level. This sound spoke to me for many reasons on a more personal level. I grew up in South London so didn't really go to a lot of the "tourist" areas of London, as they were just somewhere we could reach in an hour on the train, they were not going anywhere. The Tower had been around for hundreds of years so there was no rush. It wasn't until I moved to the north of the UK and had a family that we had a reason to visit a lot of tourist attractions with our son.  "It wasn't until I started working on this sound that I remembered I got to visit the Tower of London when I was younger as a friend was related to a chaplain who lived at the property. We got to walk around the grounds after dark, bringing a very different experience to the full on cacophony of sounds that you would hear in the daytime. Another angle that resonated with me was the sound of the tour guide themself. A good tour guide is there to bring the history to life, something that really came across in the recording, There way they can swap the flow and personality of the story, connecting with and bouncing off the audience, managing to keep everyone interested, involved and on their toes.  "For my remix, I started off with cutting up the voices in the audio and forming an electronic beat from these fragments, I got something pretty good together before deciding to scrap that and just play the audio raw and respond to that. The synth lines were all played live against the original file. I then started adding effects to the original audio and a few edits to represent the way that you never know what a tour guide is going to come out with. The tiny flashes of a beat and the acid line that weaves in at the end I felt represented the history of my version, much as, even though the audio focuses on the tour guide the history of the tower shines through in his words. I felt his description of the tower not only brings the history to life, but the recording freezes his retelling of that history in an important capsule in as just an important way." Tower of London tour guides reimagined by DFF Sound System. ——————— This sound is part of the Sonic Heritage project, exploring the sounds of the world's most famous sights. (00:55) If a club has a no-shoot list, here's what you should be taking down (04:22). Mikey managed to score a killer buck during a recent trip (10:01)! Nobody knows those deer and where they go better than the landowners (16:46). Mark and Jodie took a trip down to Alabama (21:54), and boy, do you learn a lot from visiting someone else's camp (25:14)! What's the difference between Mississippi and Alabama's terrain? (28:47) We think we know what deer like to eat, but it turns out they like to eat everything (31:02). We've gotten spoiled by hunting cams and fancy technology, but it wasn't always like this (33:52). There's a big difference between a good hunting camp and a bad one—here's what makes a great hunting camp (35:45). This has got to be the most luxurious hunting club we've ever walked into (40:31)! Malcom's early days of hunting led him to what might have been the biggest disaster at a camp to this day (45:23). The deer on other people's property might be better than ours, but nobody eats better than we do (47:38). These are the top camps we've visited this hunting season (53:20)! Finally, if you had to pick one terrain to hunt on forever, what would it be? (58:11)

**Disclaimer: First show of the new year, and yeah, I know, I blew it, but I own up to it! The integrity of the list remains!** The fabs sure loved writing songs about their relationships on vacation. As we discussed one of Paul's recently ("For No One"), now it's John's turn. John's ode to infidelity and arson turned into one of the most sublime sonic moments in their catalogue, as well as one of the most influential. George's now iconic sitar part influenced so many other bands of the time to start experimenting with Indian music (The Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black" maybe most famously), and marked the beginning of his and the band's bringing Eastern music to popular Western culture. It's a defining sound of the 60s, and this song may be well the defining song of the Rubber Soul album. Joining us this week is Beatles author and all around lovely person Sara Schmidt! She's the author Dear Beatle People: The Story of the Beatles North American Fan Club and Happiness is Seeing the Beatles: Beatlemania in St. Louis . She's also the brains behind meetthebeatlesforreal.com where she's been archiving Beatles photos and fan stories since 2007. While Apple and so many are telling the history of the band, this is the other side of the coin, the thing that made it work, the fans, and it's a fantastic archive of stories and interactions with the band. Check out the website and Sara's books at meetthebeatlesforreal.com, and if you have a story to share with her, send it over! What do you think about "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)" at 78? Lisa Barlow is not happy that her (free) 1 hour flight back to Salt Lake isn't in first class. Todd is not cut out for the housewife life and says he will never go on a cast trip ever again. We're starting to get a sense that Todd and Brownyn's relationship is a little rocky. We missed Heather this episode and Mary decided to stay at home to be with her son. For some reason Seth decided to be cringe and call Whitney and Angie biotches at the dinner table when the topic of Shawn calling out Meredith for using her son's sexuality as a pawn came up.... again. In Hollywood news, Megan Fox is pregnant. She is expecting a baby with Machine Gun Kelly. Kim and Kourtney have apparently buried the Dolce & Gabbana hatchet. Skims has partnered with the fashion house on a limited edition collection and low and behold Mrs. Barker is in the ad campaigns right alongside Kim. Joe Exotic has once again reached out to Donald Trump and asked for a pardon. Lil Nas X is preparing to release new music after his last attempt didn't go the way he expected it to. The Hollywood edition of Vanity Fair has been released with Sydney Sweeney as on of the handful of stars. She's calling out the "women empowerment" movement in Hollywood and claims that it is all fake and none of it is really happening. The evil journalist who wrote not so nice things about Martha Stewart, you know, the one who Martha said was dead, is in fact alive. Bridget Jones is getting a new diary. A new film is expected out on Valentine's Day of next year. Disney has partnered with overpriced athletic company, Lulu Lemon, on a collection just in time for the holidays. Tate McRae has announced a massive tour but unfortunately she has decided to not make a stop in Salt Lake. The Dune franchise has launched a mini series on HBO and sadly Timothèe Chalamet is not in it. And last but not least, John Krasinski has been crowned Peopl'e Sexiest Man Alive award. Thanks for listening!
