In this Lonesome Conversation, Adam and I explore his conviction that separation is a trick of perspective — that whether you zoom in with a microscope or out with a telescope, you're looking at the same unbroken whole, and that "there is God, and we're it." We trace how entomology, the world's religions, and psychedelics converged for him into one felt truth rather than a hopeful idea: that we're never actually alone. A conversation about the kind of existential loneliness that dissolves the moment you stop believing in the boundary.About AdamAdam Butler is a psychedelic philosopher and passionate DMT psychonaut focusing on mental health, neuroplasticity, self-exploration, and the extreme limits of human potential and ability. Combining an academically trained intellect, empathetic heart, and life-hardening experiences, Adam has found his niche in helping others overcome the fear associated with PTSD, depression, sexual repression, and addiction. By incorporating psychedelic compounds with deep meditation, lucid dreaming, and tantric practices, he has changed from being an overworked, overweight, stressed-out alcoholic asshole into a balanced, healthy, and sober friend and mentor to many. Lonesome Conversations Limited SeriesLonesome Conversations is a special series from The Life Stylist, built around my new book, A Horse Named Lonesome (out November 17, 2026). Loneliness is something almost everyone goes through, and almost nobody talks about honestly. So I sat down with psychologists, philosophers, trauma therapists, teachers, and friends to find the truth about loneliness, and how we heal from it. Each episode is its own conversation, but together they walk the same ground the book maps out. (Pre-order your copy at ahorsenamedlonesome.com) You'll find new episodes alongside our regular show over the coming months.
Hey everybody! Episode 201 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Adam Butler. Adam and I sat down and had a really interesting conversation about his background, his struggle with depression and how that led him to DMT, what DMT is and how it helped him, the space and entities that are encountered there, his views on healing and the work he is doing. He has a genuine passion for this work and wrote a great little book called Butler's DMT Field Guide. I hope you enjoy this conversation and gain from Adam's experience and wisdom. Wednesday was a day off in Henderson, so Gully opens with what actually came out of Tuesday's practice. Masses and McCoy are both pushing for CB2, and if a Day 3 rookie wins that job in eleven practices, that says something about this draft class. Tonka Hemingway has a slim lead at nose tackle with Adam Butler and Benito Jones right behind him. Kwity Paye had a lot to say about him. Then there's DJ Glaze. A lot of you have been asking why nobody's talking about him. He's taken the majority of right tackle reps and he's got 31 straight starts, but listen to how Rick Dennison talks about him: working hard, made some progress, things to get better at. That's process language, not a vote of confidence. Charles Grant and Trey Zuhn III are right there. Then it's your turn. Anders in Oakland calls in with the best framing of Klint Kubiak anyone's given yet, running him through Teddy Roosevelt, Eisenhower and Washington, and makes the case that the buck actually stops with this staff. Raider Eddie in Denver wants to know if Glaze is too slow-footed for tackle and belongs at guard, whether Grant is really being groomed to back up Kolton Miller, and where Trey Zuhn fits. Plus Angry Rick 68 on X gets into Mike Florio and how PFT covers this franchise. Be part of the show. Call the line at 702-900-7869 or send a video to mail@silverandblacktoday.com. In this Q2 2026 commentary, Rodrigo Gordillo and Adam Butler review the Return Stacked® ETF suite, highlighting how combining trend and carry strategies capture unique signals during supply and demand shocks. The conversation also covers merger arbitrage as an overlooked corporate bond alternative, alongside the mechanics of gold and Bitcoin stacking. Finally, the two discuss the launch of the International Stocks & Managed Futures ETF (RSIT), which quickly grew to over $60 million in assets, and the addition of new agricultural markets to the trend and carry strategies.Topics Discussed• Diversification of risk using trend and carry strategies within investment portfolios• Launch and performance of RSIT (International Developed Trend ETF) and addition of agricultural markets• Understanding and capturing carry (roll yield) in energy and futures markets• Mechanics and performance of Return Stacking ETFs including RSSB, RSSX, and RSBA• Benefits of merger arbitrage as a diversifier and corporate bond alternative• Managing behavioral challenges and providing transparency to advisors using Return Stacking• Minimizing hidden financing and funding costs when using futures overlaysThe performance data quoted above represents past performance. Unlike mutual funds, ETFs may trade at a premium or discount to their net asset value. Brokerage commissions may apply and would reduce returns. Bitcoin Investment Risk: The Fund's indirect investment in bitcoin, through futures contracts and Underlying Funds, exposes it to the unique risks of this emerging innovation. Bitcoin's price is highly volatile, and its market is influenced by the changing bitcoin network, fluctuating acceptance levels, and unpredictable usage trends. Not being a legal tender and operating outside central authority systems like banks, bitcoin faces potential government restrictions. The value of bitcoin has historically been subject to significant speculation, making trading and investing in bitcoin reliant on market sentiment rather than traditional fundamental analysis. Blockchain Technology Risk: Blockchain technology, which underpins bitcoin and other digital assets, is relatively new, and many of its applications are untested. The adoption of blockchain and the development of competing platforms or technologies could affect its usage. Cayman Subsidiary Risk: By investing in the Fund's Cayman Subsidiary, the Fund is indirectly exposed to the risks associated with the Subsidiary's investments. The futures contracts and other investments held by the Subsidiary are subject to the same economic risks that apply to similar investments if held directly by the Fund. The Subsidiary is not registered under the 1940 Act, and, unless otherwise noted in the Fund's Prospectus, is not subject to all the investor protections of the 1940 Act. Commodity Risk: Investing in physical commodities is speculative and can be extremely volatile. Commodity-Linked Derivatives Tax Risk: The tax treatment of commodity-linked derivative instruments may be adversely affected by changes in legislation, regulations, or other legally binding authority. As a registered investment company (RIC), the Fund must derive at least 90% of its gross income each taxable year from certain qualifying sources of income under the Internal Revenue Code. If, as a result of any adverse future legislation, U.S. Treasury regulations, and/or guidance issued by the Internal Revenue Service, the income of the Fund from certain commodity-linked derivatives, including income from the Fund's investments in the Subsidiary, were treated as non-qualifying income, the Fund may fail to qualify as RIC and/or be subject to federal income tax at the Fund level. The uncertainty surrounding the treatment of certain derivative instruments under the qualification tests for a RIC may limit the Fund's use of such derivative instruments. Commodity Pool Regulatory Risk: The Fund's investment exposure to futures instruments will cause it to be deemed to be a commodity pool, thereby subjecting the Fund to regulation under the Commodity Exchange Act and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission rules. Because the Fund is subject to additional laws, regulations, and enforcement policies, it may have increased compliance costs which may affect the operations and performance of the Fund. Credit Risk: Credit risk refers to the possibility that the issuer of a security will not be able to make principal and interest payments when due. Changes in an issuer's credit rating or the market's perception of an issuer's creditworthiness may also affect the value of the Fund's investment in that issuer. Derivatives Risk: Derivatives are instruments, such as futures contracts, whose value is derived from that of other assets, rates, or...
Would you dare spend nearly a week in absolute, unrelenting darkness—no light, no screens, no contact with the outside world—alone with only your thoughts? Our guest did exactly that. Adam Butler, known as the Alchemist of Tears, Psychedelic Philosopher, and Messenger of Love, emerged from over 100 hours of complete sensory isolation with profound insights that blurred the line between inner revelation and something far greater.Adam Butler is a transformative author, dedicated DMT psychonaut, and passionate advocate for mental health and human potential. Once a high-achieving professional trapped in alcoholism, depression, and despair, he reclaimed his life through deep psychedelic exploration, meditation, and radical self-inquiry. He is the author of Butler's DMT Field Guide, Butler's Psychedelic Integration Field Guide, and The Alchemist of Tears: A Photo Diary of My Psychedelic Trip Across America—works that chronicle his journey from darkness to purpose and offer practical wisdom for others seeking healing, neuroplasticity, and authentic connection. In this episode, Adam shares the raw, unfiltered story of his six-day darkness retreat (resulting in more than 100 consecutive hours of total blackout). A darkness retreat is an ancient yet increasingly modern practice—rooted in Tibetan Buddhist and Bon traditions—in which participants voluntarily isolate themselves in a completely light-proof space. Free from external stimuli, the mind turns inward, often producing vivid inner visuals, heightened awareness, emotional breakthroughs, and states of consciousness strikingly similar to those induced by psychedelics. Meals are delivered without breaking the darkness, and the experience becomes a profound confrontation with the self.We also journey into the mysterious world of psychedelic entities—those intelligent, otherworldly beings so many encounter in DMT and similar states. Are these entities projections of our own subconscious, arising from within? Or do they exist independently in a surrounding realm we cannot normally perceive, waiting to deliver messages, guidance, or mirrors of our deepest truths? Adam draws from his extensive personal encounters and the parallels he observed in pure darkness to explore this enduring question with depth, honesty, and wonder.https://a.co/d/00WBOXovhttps://a.co/d/02u8PiZmGear up and get freaky with official Let's Get Freaky merchandise! If markets no longer price value, then what's actually setting the price?Raise Your Average hosts Pierre Daillie and Adam Butler sit down with Michael Green, Chief Strategist and Portfolio Manager at Simplify Asset Management, for a deep dive into the passive investing thesis he has spent over a decade researching, defending, and stress testing.Green argues that trillions of dollars flowing automatically into index funds via 401(k)s, RSPs, and defined contribution plans have created a market where price no longer reflects judgment about value. He walks through the mechanics of the "inelastic market hypothesis," the outsized role of leveraged and levered sector ETFs like SOXL, the Grossman-Stiglitz framework and why its core assumptions no longer hold, and why active and value investing have become structurally disadvantaged in the current regime. The conversation also covers the 2026 macro backdrop of a US-Iran conflict, an oil shock, and equities at all-time highs despite it, the risk of a passive "end stage," and where genuine diversification (like managed futures) still fits. It's a candid, occasionally combative, and consistently illuminating discussion for anyone trying to understand why markets are behaving in ways that don't match historical patterns.Chapters00:00 – Introduction: has the market stopped pricing risk?08:00 – Welcome to Michael Green; setting up 2026's contradictions09:00 – The 50-year shift into "all equities all the time"10:00 – How ETF mechanics reduce market elasticity12:00 – Why pod shops and passive flows ignore fundamentals entirely13:00 – Leveraged sector ETFs (SOXL) aren't really passive15:00 – Echoes of the dot-com bubble: 1999 vs. today18:00 – Circular funding and Mag Seven earnings41:00 – Momentum, autocorrelation, and portfolio construction under passive dominance44:00 – Pushback from the Financial Times and mainstream finance media44:30 – Malkiel's Paradox of Skill and the Grossman-Stiglitz framework, unpacked47:00 – Why the "equal endowment" assumption is false49:00 – The large-stack player sets the terms of the market50:00 – The Inelastic Market Hypothesis (Gabaix and Koijen) and Green's updated multiplier estimates52:00 – Facilitators vs. correctors: why Citadel and Jane Street are thriving55:00 – The Newtonian vs. quantum physics analogy for market scale57:00 – GameStop, Michael Saylor, and self-liquidating vehicles1:13:00 – Market cap concentration data and transaction cost asymmetries1:15:00 – Why cap weighting has flipped from historically losing to structurally winning1:17:00 – Stein's Law and the coming correction1:18:00 – Why value investing is a "negative selection criteria" right now1:21:00 – Where active investors can still add value: becoming facilitators1:22:00 – Managed futures as liquidity provision and portfolio ballast1:25:00 – Capacity constraints and closing thoughts#MichaelGreen #PassiveInvesting #RaiseYourAverage #SimplifyAssetManagement #ETFs #IndexFunds #MarketStructure #InelasticMarketHypothesis #ActiveManagement #ValueInvesting #ManagedFutures #Macro #InvestingPodcast #StockMarket #FinancePodcast #WallStreet #PortfolioManagement #MarketBubble #AdvisorAnalyst

Learn the key insights from his journey and how you can apply them to your own life.In a world where many feel lost and overwhelmed, the journey of Adam Butler serves as a beacon of hope. After experiencing a profound midlife crisis at 40, Adam recalibrated his life, delving into the realms of psychedelics and self-discovery. In this blog post, we explore his insights shared during an inspiring conversation on the True Life podcast, highlighting how embracing adversity can lead to a transformative journey.
Healing is not a hopeful wish. It is part of the covenant. In this powerful service, we are reminded that God's goodness and His promises are not based on emotion, experience, or circumstance but on the finished work of Jesus. From the offering to the altar and into the Word, this message builds faith for healing and calls believers to receive what already belongs to them in Christ. Discover what it means to stand on God's covenant, pray from victory instead of for victory, and confidently believe that healing is not God's reluctance but His revealed will.
Adam Butler returns to the frequency with fire in his lungs and truth in his hands. We confront rising suicide rates, broken habits, and the silent war inside the mind. Through raw philosophy and lived scars, he shows how to rebuild from within. This isn't motivation—it's resurrection. Tune in, lock in, and remember who you are before the world told you otherwise.!!!Watch Adam ON YOUTUBE BUY ADAMS FUILD GUIDEBE THE FREQUENCY HERE ☂️☂️☂️ALERT OPERATIONS: CRYPTID WARFARE GET CLEAN: DETOX AND MAKE KIDS HEALTHY AGAIN// // GET 15% OFF AT CHECK OUT USING "PARANOI" at FLAVORS OF THE FOREST☂️Public Announcement: The Trebles Show — formerly known as Paranoi Radio — has risen from the static. Adam Butler was a successful real estate investor with 15 houses and a high-paying career until a midlife crisis at 40 unraveled his entire life. Battling severe alcoholism, a restraining order, and suicidal ideation, Adam left everything behind to drive cross-country and confront his demons in the desert. In this episode, we discuss his memoir (which opens with the question "Who the fck am I?"*) and his journey into the deep end of psychedelics. Adam details his experience smoking DMT hundreds of times, his encounters with "Mantis" entities, his time at the Monroe Institute, and the terrifying "Blue Room" paralysis event that changed his understanding of reality forever.
This episode goes deep into the strange, powerful, and often misunderstood terrain of psychedelics, consciousness, and human potential. I'm joined by Adam Butler, a psychedelic philosopher and long-time DMT psychonaut, whose work lives at the intersection of mental health, neuroplasticity, trauma healing, and radical self-exploration.Adam shares his personal transformation story—moving from addiction, chronic stress, and emotional repression into sobriety, balance, and embodied clarity—and how intentional psychedelic use played a pivotal role in that shift. We explore how compounds like DMT can act as catalysts for confronting fear, dissolving trauma patterns, and reprogramming deeply-ingrained mental and emotional loops when approached with discipline, reverence, and integration. From there, the conversation expands into the mechanics of the mind itself. We talk about neuroplasticity, meditation, lucid dreaming, tantric practices, and how these tools can be woven together to access altered states without bypassing responsibility or grounding. Adam offers a refreshingly honest take on the risks, the myths, and the shadow side of psychedelic culture, especially when it comes to escapism, ego inflation, and spiritual shortcuts. This is not a surface-level conversation. It's about facing discomfort, rewiring fear responses, and learning how to meet extreme inner experiences with presence instead of avoidance. If you're curious about the deeper psychological and philosophical implications of psychedelics—or you're interested in what real integration looks like beyond the hype, this episode will challenge, expand, and ground you all at once. For a free pdf version of his book, Butler's DMT Field Guide: A Brief History, Step by Step Recipes, and Personal Experiences From a DMT Saturated Consciousness, email Adam at booksbyadambutler@gmail.com.DISCLAIMER: This podcast is for educational purposes only and not intended for diagnosing or treating illnesses. In this episode, I sit down with Adam Butler to explore his journey from addiction and despair to clarity, healing, and purpose. We talk candidly about psychedelics—especially DMT—ego, shadow work, and what it really means to untether consciousness.
In this special episode, Adam Butler and Ben Hunt join Matt Zeigler to unpack one of the most charged debates in markets and economics today: whether our official statistics still reflect lived reality. Building on Mike Green's work and Adam Butler's essay The Bureau of Missing Children, the conversation moves beyond the technical definition of poverty to a deeper idea of economic precarity, the growing gap between what we measure and what people actually experience. Together, they explore debt, housing, childcare, labor mobility, AI, and the erosion of meaning in economic language, while wrestling with what policy, community, and human-centered solutions might look like in a world that increasingly feels unstable.Main topics coveredWhy the debate should focus on precarity rather than povertyThe disconnect between inflation statistics and lived experienceHow debt, housing, childcare, and education drive economic insecurityThe idea of a participation budget for modern family formationWhy labor mobility has broken down since the financial crisisHow asset prices and credit intensify risk for householdsThe role of grandparents and off-balance-sheet support in the economyDarwin's wedge, positional goods, and rising costs of everyday lifeThe impact of AI, technocracy, and anti-human incentivesCentralized versus decentralized solutions to today's economic challengesWhat it means to carry the fire and preserve human-centered valuesTimestamps00:00 Introduction and the emotional roots of the precarity debate02:00 Poverty versus precarity and what we are really measuring06:30 Technocrats, narratives, and the limits of economic statistics09:00 Personal experiences with precarity and debt15:00 The Bureau of Missing Children and family formation economics21:00 Modeling household income and participation budgets25:50 Rising costs of childcare, housing, and everyday life33:00 Darwin's wedge and positional competition36:45 Debt, housing, and labor immobility40:00 Grandparents, unpaid care, and off-balance-sheet subsidies46:30 How today differs from 40 or 50 years ago49:40 Labor mobility as a lost engine of opportunity55:00 Policy paths, mission-driven economics, and decentralization01:11:00 Visionary leadership versus bottom-up solutions01:15:50 Carrying the fire and preserving meaning01:17:30 Where to follow Adam Butler and Ben Hunt
In a special roundtable discussion, Rodrigo Gordillo, Corey Hoffstein, Mike Philbrick, and Adam Butler each present their top investment idea for 2026, centered around a specific Return Stacked® ETF. The conversation explores a range of compelling theses, from the role of scarce assets like gold and Bitcoin to the strategic use of alternatives such as trend following and merger arbitrage. This forward-looking analysis delves into the evolving landscape of portfolio construction, the importance of capital efficiency, and the broader implications of ongoing monetary and fiscal debasement.Topics Discussed• The investment case for stacking scarce assets like gold and Bitcoin on stocks (RSSX) as a hedge against permanent monetary debasement• Utilizing bonds as a portfolio ballast and stacking managed futures strategies like trend and carry for diversification (RSBT & RSBY)• The argument for replacing corporate credit exposure with a combination of Treasuries and merger arbitrage (RSBA) due to tight credit spreads• Using a global stock and bond fund (RSSB) to create capital efficiency for adding low-volatility alternatives or tactical cash positions• The increasing institutional adoption of Bitcoin, signaling its potential shift from a fringe asset to a foundational portfolio component• A defense of holding bond duration for its predictable long-term returns and its role as a diversifier during cyclical recessions• The complementary nature of trend and carry strategies as different ways to harvest risk premia in managed futures• Merger arbitrage as a unique and defensible risk premium that is structurally uncorrelated with traditional equity and credit risk• The paradigm shift in portfolio construction for retail investors enabled by the accessibility of Return Stacking strategiesRSST – https://www.returnstackedetfs.com/rsst-return-stacked-us-stocks-managed-futures/RSIT - https://www.returnstackedetfs.com/rsit-international-stocks-managed-futures/RSBT – https://www.returnstackedetfs.com/rsbt-return-stacked-bonds-managed-futures/RSSY – https://www.returnstackedetfs.com/rssy-return-stacked-us-stocks-futures-yield/RSBY – https://www.returnstackedetfs.com/rsby-return-stacked-bonds-futures-yield/RSBA – https://www.returnstackedetfs.com/rsba-return-stacked-bonds-merger-arbitrage/RSSB – https://www.returnstackedetfs.com/rssb-return-stacked-global-stocks-bonds/RSSX – https://www.returnstackedetfs.com/rssx-return-stacked-us-stocks-gold-bitcoin/BTGD – https://quantifyfunds.com/stackedbitcoingoldetf/btgd/The performance data quoted above represents past performance. Bitcoin's price is highly volatile, and its market is influenced by the changing bitcoin network, fluctuating acceptance levels, and unpredictable usage trends. In this episode, Adam Butler is joined by guest Mike Green to discuss his viral Substack articles on the American affordability crisis. The conversation explores the significant gap between official economic statistics, like CPI, and the lived financial reality for the middle class, a phenomenon Green argues is often dismissed by an expert "mockery machine." They also discuss the use of LLMs in his research process and debate potential policy solutions to address widespread economic precarity.Topics Discussed• The use of Large Language Models (LLMs) as productivity tools for research and writing.• A critique of the "mockery machine" in public discourse that dismisses legitimate concerns about the cost of living• The disconnect between formal economic definitions of inflation and the public's lived experience of unaffordability• The concept of a "precarity line" for a modern family versus the technical definition of a poverty line• The economic pressures leading to "ghost households," where young people forgo having children due to high costs• Flaws in economic metrics like the CPI, particularly how quality adjustments mask the true rise in essential costs• The societal gaslighting by the economic establishment and its political consequences.• The "Valley of Death" or benefits cliff, where withdrawing government support creates a barrier to entering the middle class• Debating policy solutions like tariffs, direct government investment, and incentive-based programs to address economic precarity
On this episode, Adam Butler is joined by Wes Gray for a deep dive into advanced tax-efficient investing strategies. The discussion explores the mechanics of Section 351 contributions for creating tax-deferred ETFs, a powerful tool for investors with already diversified portfolios. They contrast this approach with solutions for managing highly concentrated stock positions, such as exchange funds and market neutral tax loss harvesting, and also touch on the use of box spreads for optimizing collateral.Topics Discussed• Section 351 contributions as a method for converting diversified portfolios into an ETF wrapper tax-free• Utilizing exchange funds as a solution for concentrated stock positions, which involves a seven-year lockup period• Employing market neutral long/short strategies to systematically harvest tax losses and reduce concentrated positions over time• The mechanics of tax loss harvesting, where market beta typically generates losses in the short book, squeezing the tax basis into the long leg• The core concept of the "physics of tax," where tax liability is deferred or shifted rather than eliminated• Using concentrated equity positions as collateral to fund overlay strategies, an application of capital efficiency and Return Stacking• The use of box spreads on SPX options to generate cash-equivalent returns with more favorable 60/40 capital gains tax treatment instead of ordinary income• The growing demand and innovation in tax optimization solutions for high-net-worth investors• Integrating tax management engines within investment funds to offset tax liabilities from primary trading strategies like managed futures
Rodrigo Gordillo, Corey Hoffstein, and Adam Butler review the Q3 2025 performance of their ETF suite, drawing from the latest Return Stacked® ETFs Quarterly Performance Report. The discussion explores the strategies and use cases for each capital-efficient fund, from the core stock/bond RSSB to the newer gold and Bitcoin-focused RSSX. They delve into the underlying mechanics of the stacked strategies, including trend following replication, merger arbitrage, and the concept of portable alpha. This quarterly analysis provides a detailed look at how each fund has performed and is positioned within the broader framework of Return Stacking.Topics Discussed• An overview of the Return Stacking ETF suite's growth to over one billion dollars in assets under management• The capital efficiency and diverse use cases of the RSSB fund, which provides 100/100 exposure to global stocks and bonds• A detailed look at the blended replication approach used to track the trend following managed futures category in RSST and RSBT• The role of the futures yield (carry) strategy as a low-correlation diversifier to trend following• Positioning the RSBA merger arbitrage fund as an alternative to traditional corporate credit, especially with credit spreads at historic lows• Managing exposure to gold and Bitcoin in the RSSX fund through an active inverse volatility weighting strategy• The practical benefits of pre-stacked solutions for advisors, such as simplified implementation and automated rebalancing• A review of recent performance drivers, including the resurgence in trend following and the lifecycle of merger arbitrage dealsRSST – https://www.returnstackedetfs.com/rsst-return-stacked-us-stocks-managed-futures/RSIT - https://www.returnstackedetfs.com/rsit-international-stocks-managed-futures/RSBT – https://www.returnstackedetfs.com/rsbt-return-stacked-bonds-managed-futures/RSSY – https://www.returnstackedetfs.com/rssy-return-stacked-us-stocks-futures-yield/RSBY – https://www.returnstackedetfs.com/rsby-return-stacked-bonds-futures-yield/RSBA – https://www.returnstackedetfs.com/rsba-return-stacked-bonds-merger-arbitrage/RSSB – https://www.returnstackedetfs.com/rssb-return-stacked-global-stocks-bonds/RSSX – https://www.returnstackedetfs.com/rssx-return-stacked-us-stocks-gold-bitcoin/BTGD – https://quantifyfunds.com/stackedbitcoingoldetf/btgd/DefinitionsA Basis Point is equal to 0.01% and is commonly used to express changes in interest rates, fees, or investment returns. Digital Asset Risk: Digital assets like bitcoin, designed as mediums of exchange, are still an emerging asset class and are not presently widely used as such. They operate independently of any central authority or government backing and are subject to regulatory changes and extreme price volatility. Gold Investment Risks: The Fund will not invest directly in gold but will gain exposure through gold futures contracts and Underlying Funds. These investments are subject to significant risk due to the inherent volatility and unpredictability of the commodities markets. The value of these investments is typically derived from the price movements of physical gold or related economic variables. Leverage Risk: As part of the Fund's principal investment strategy, the Fund will make investments in futures contracts to gain long and short exposure across four major asset classes (commodities, currencies, fixed income, and equities). In this episode, Rodrigo Gordillo, Mike Philbrick, and Adam Butler from ReSolve Asset Management Global explore the timely relevance of managed futures, examining why the current macroeconomic environment may be particularly favorable for these strategies. Corey Hoffstein and Adam Butler joins to unpack the mechanics of stacking returns inside an ETF — not as a branding exercise, but as a way to navigate the hard constraints of scale, structure, and investor behavior. They break down how Return Stacked blends top-down replication with a bottom-up trend engine, why most investors misunderstand what replication actually captures, and where the fault lines lie between mutual funds and ETFs. From margin management and bid-offer spreads to the limits of liquidity in a product built for growth, this conversation surfaces what it really means to package active strategies for a public wrapper — and what gets lost, or found, in the process.-----50 YEARS OF TREND FOLLOWING BOOK AND BEHIND-THE-SCENES VIDEO FOR ACCREDITED INVESTORS - CLICK HERE-----Follow Niels on Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube or via the TTU website.IT's TRUE ? – most CIO's read 50+ books each year – get your FREE copy of the Ultimate Guide to the Best Investment Books ever written here. And you can get a free copy of my latest book “Ten Reasons to Add Trend Following to Your Portfolio” here.Learn more about the Trend Barometer here.Send your questions to info@toptradersunplugged.comAnd please share this episode with a like-minded friend and leave an honest Rating & Review on iTunes or Spotify so more people can discover the podcast.Follow Moritz on Twitter.Episode TimeStamps:02:08 - Introduction to Corey Hoffstein & Adam Butler09:06 - How Hoffstein and Butler see the trend following industry going forward12:24 - The possibilities and constraints of trading ETFs20:52 - The philosophy behind their trading strategy27:26 - How they calibrate their model to accommodate markets changes32:03 - How they incorporate replication in their strategy35:50 - Their process behind capturing beta46:42 - The benefits of adding a longer tail for markets49:25 - How much volatility can trend followers tolerate?54:23 - How they maintain balance in their trend following portfolio57:37 - Implementing different types of return...

On this episode of The Zach Show, Adam Butler and Zach discuss DMT, the psychedelic molecule that Adam claims saved his life. From suicidal despair in the desert to conversations with God, demons, and dimensional beings, Adam recounts his transformation through DMT with brutal honesty and poetic grit. We unpack the “Miracle Molecule” from every angle: the effects of endogenous DMT, why it shows up at birth and death, its role in altered states, and what happens when you smoke, drink, or breathe your way into it. Adam shares his thoughts on DMT as a tool for shadow work, transcendental sex, artistic creativity, and spiritual rebirth. We also examine the fine line between mysticism and madness, and why he believes DMT is not just a drug, but a key to consciousness itself. Whether you're a seasoned psychonaut or a curious skeptic, this conversation will challenge your assumptions about reality, identity, and the nature of the soul. Guest Bio: Adam Butler is a psychedelic philosopher and passionate DMT psychonaut focusing on mental health, neuroplasticity, self-exploration, and the extreme limits of human potential and ability.
