NFL tight end, Jacob Hollister, made it to the NFL alongside his twin brother Cody. Against all odds, the two brothers share a special, unbreakable bond, but also have an incredible story on how they both landed on the New England Patriots. From humble beginnings, to catching passes from Tom Brady, Jacob walks boldly in his faith and patiently prepares for his next NFL opportunity.
Jacob and Cody Hollister are twin brothers currently playing in the NFL. Jacob is a tight end with the Las Vegas Raiders, while Cody is a wide receiver with the Tennessee Titans. Both brothers entered the league in 2017 with the New England Patriots and played two seasons together, winning a Super Bowl in 2018 when the Patriots defeated the Rams 13-3 to win Super Bowl LIII. Today on the podcast, we talked with Cody and Jacob Hollister about their unique relationship as twin brothers playing in the NFL, the support that they have for each other, how Jesus guides both of their lives and the trip they went on in 2022 to the Holy Land in Israel. -------------------------------------------------- Looking for faith/sports gift ideas? The future is bright for Julio Rodriguez... right? Salk is a little bummed because today is J-Rod's 22nd bday and he can no longer call him a "21 year-old kid" but also because Baseball Reference has his 2023 season projections below what his 2022 numbers were. Tyler Lockett could potentially return this Sunday but Jacob Hollister will be suiting up again in a Seahawks uniform to bolster the TE group. The Buffalo Bills (4-2) head into their bye week in first place in the AFC East and in fourth place in the AFC following their 34-31 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football. Despite their impressive showing during a recent four-game winning streak, there are still areas where the Bills need to improve. On the latest episode of the Billieve Podcast, hosts John Boccacino and Jamie D'Amico dive into ways the Bills can solidify their football team for an anticipated run at a Super Bowl title, from exploring positions of need and potential trade targets to discussing underperforming players who are holding the team back Among the topics discussed: General manager Brandon Beane loves to wheel and deal. Will he make a trade (or several trades) before the Nov. 2 NFL trade deadline? What to do with the surplus of defensive linemen? And how can Buffalo create more consistent pass rush from its front four? Should the Bills bring in a veteran cornerback like a Kyle Fuller or a Bryce Callahan, two names that have been linked to Buffalo, or a veteran tight end like Evan Graham or Jacob Hollister to provide help while Dawson Knox recovers from a broken bone in his hand? How can the Bills shore up their offensive line, particularly when it comes to run blocking? Josh Allen is feeling the pressure to step up and deliver the big-time plays that lead Buffalo to victory. How will Allen deal with that pressure over the second half of the season? What can Allen and the Bills offense do to solve its red zone scoring woes? Last year, Buffalo scored on 62 percent of its drives in the red zone. This year, it is down to 55.2 percent, and a major reason for the decline is teams are blitzing less in the red zone, creating less room for Allen to run while creating fewer openings for Allen to hit his receivers. The Bills 53 Man Roster is set in stone with no Jacob Hollister, a promising young safety behind Poyer & Hyde, and a battle for CB2 that apparently isn't over yet. The table will give their thoughts and reactions to the roster Beane and company put together, and they'll also talk about how it stacks up with the rest of the AFC? Is there a sleeper team in the conference that no one's talking about? At The Table:
Who is in? Who is out? Joe Buscaglia and Matthew Fairburn weigh in on the Bills initial 53-man roster. They discuss the decision to cut Jacob Hollister, the trade sending Darryl Johnson to the Panthers and the questions that remain at guard. Plus, could John Brown make his way back to Buffalo? They talk about all of that and much more. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
The guys react to the Bills' initial 53-man roster, including the team's decision to move on from recently signed tight end Jacob Hollister. Other topics include the team's 11 defensive linemen, Gabriel Davis as a fantasy sleeper, and some early picks on the Bills-Steelers Week 1 betting line. Hosted by Ryan O'Leary (@RyanO_Leary) with Bills Wire Managing Editor Nick Wojton (@Nick_Wojton)
On this bonus Wednesday episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast Patrick Moran is joined by Anthony Marino of Buffalo Rumblings to talk several Buffalo Bills topics focused around NFL cut down day. The Bills didn't make any stunning cuts, but Reid Ferguson and Jacob Hollister were the most noteworthy, although it's reported Ferguson's release was merely procedural and quite possibly the same for Hollister. Anthony discusses having at least mild surprise that Tommy Doyle made the roster while Patrick explains why he thinks Cam Lewis is the Bills cut most likely to end up claimed by another team. They also break the roster down positionally going forward. Also, John Wawrow of the Associated Press had an eye-opening report about Pegula Sports & Entertainment's proposal for a 60,000 seat new stadium that would ready for play in 2027. It would become the smallest capacity stadium in the NFL in terms of fans and Anthony has plenty to say about it. They also discuss some of the notable moves around the league, including division rival New England moving on from quarterback Cam Netwon and why Patrick thinks Mac Jones is poised to have the most immediate success of this year's rookie quarterback class. All this and much more. Be sure to follow Anthony on Twitter @AnthMarino and check out Buffalo Rumblings for all the latest Bills new, commentary and podcasts. The Buffalo Bills ran their preseason win streak to seven with a thoroughly dominant 41-15 trouncing of the Chicago Bears Saturday afternoon at Soldier Field. There was plenty to like from the win, along with several areas where the Bills can improve, and on the latest episode of the Billieve Podcast, hosts John Boccacino and Jamie D'Amico give you their thoughts on what they liked and what they didn't like after Buffalo improved to 2-0 this preseason. Among the players who made a favorable impression on our podcasters: Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, who effectively ran Brian Daboll's offense, guiding the Bills to touchdowns on their first four possessions while completing 20 of 28 passes for 221 yards and a touchdown. Rookie edge rusher Greg Rousseau, who came up with a sack and three quarterback hurries on just nine snaps. Fellow defensive ends A.J. Epenesa and Carlos "Boogie" Basham Jr., who helped Buffalo's pass rush generate four sacks and 12 QB hits while causing chaos in the backfield. Running backs Devin Singletary and Zack Moss, who averaged 7.0 yards per carry in rushing for 42 yards on six carries. Singletary eluded the defense and broke off a 14-yard touchdown run on fourth-and-one, while Moss nearly scored on a nifty 11-yard scamper. Wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie, who rebounded from an early muff of a punt to catch seven passes for 72 yards. Tackle Spencer Brown, who played well at both left and right tackle and held his own going up against Khalil Mack. Wide receiver/returner Marquez Stevenson, who broke off an electrifying 79-yard punt return for a TD. Tight end Jacob Hollister, who might be pushing Dawson Knox for the TE1 role. Safety Damar Hamlin and cornerbacks Rachad Wildgoose and Nick McCloud. Those whose performances were less than stellar included: Tackle Bobby Hart, whose poor play along the offensive line could get one of Buffalo's quarterbacks hurt. Tight end Dawson Knox, who continues to struggle with drops and consistency. Quarterbacks Davis Webb and Jake Fromm, who failed to build upon a successful preseason opener. Cornerback Siran Neal, who was badly beaten on a long touchdown pass before halftime. Injuries, as Brown, Stevenson, Harrison Phillips, Dane Jackson (stinger), and Tommy Doyle all left the game with injuries. This week on the Nerd we talk to Josh Larky: Director of Analytics at RotoUnderworld and PlayerProfiler. Josh hosts the Code Breaker Podcast through RotoUnderworld Radio, and is an avid Underdog drafter and stack enthusiast. This episode's featured organization that is doing good in the community is Feeding America. They work to get nourishing food – from farmers, manufacturers, and retailers – to people in need, all while seeking to help the people they serve to build a path to a brighter, food-secure future. We discuss Josh's coding course, That R Coding Site, a football-centric online course that teaches first-time coders. We explore the Bill's offense, including Josh's analysis of Josh Allen's stats and his predictions for him, and we break down the Bill's backfield. We look at Wide Receiver, who is next man up, and Josh's predicted pecking order. We discuss if Isaiah Mckenzie will get a larger role, and what the Tight Ends will look like this year, as well as Jacob Hollister's role. We compare our experiences and picks on Scott Fish Bowl, and get Josh's stack choice.
