Head coach Josh McDaniels said once Jimmy G clears concussion protocol he is the starter. Aidan O'Connell played week 4. During Raiders training camp, Maxx Crosby and Jimmy Garoppolo went at each other at Raiders practice. The Raiders are tackling to the ground. This defense needs so much help that the extra intensity is needed. The good news in the secondary is Nate Hobbs returned from injury but fellow cornerback Brandon Facyson had to be carted off with a leg injury. Soto is confident in our secondary with Nate Hobbs, Trevon Moehrig, Marcus Epps, Marcus Peters and Duke Shelley. The Raiders signed Darius Harris and resigned Chase Garbers and let go of OJ Howard, Justin Murray and Kana'i Mauga. How Las Vegas Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels handles Hunter Renfrow is a great microcosm of how much McDaniels has improved in handling players. Now that the Raiders fell disastrously to the LA Rams on Thursday Night Football, the question of the day asks why are you watching the last four games of the NFL regular season? Raiders radio host and insider JT the Brick reported that general manager Dave Ziegler is looking to revamp the Las Vegas Raiders. The Windbags discuss if this is a strategy by Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler as damage control to push the blame to the roster and not the coaching staff. The offensive line has continued to improve but the right guard and right tackle situation could be up in the air. Davante Adams is a lock to stick around. Josh Jacobs, Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller will all be expensive next year. And finally quarterback Derek Carr is due for a jump in salary next season. On defense, only Maxx Crosby, Nate Hobbs and Chandler Jones are a lock to stay. Trevon Moehrig and Divine Diablo likely stick around. Everyone else is replaceable. In Raiders news today, starting guard Alex Bars went down against the LA Rams and then the Raiders cut John Simpson. They potentially lose the started to injury then cut the backup. Trevon Mullen was traded to Arizona Cardinals then cut but that team turning into a 7th round pick. Linebacker Jayon Brown is headed to injured reserve AND Divine Deablo is not back from injured reserve. The linebacker room is down to basically three guys. NFL Pro Bowler Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller are designated to return to the team off injured reserve this week and should be able to play against the New England Patriots. The goals are to get them more comfortable in the new system and get the two players as much production as possible to potentially trade them. Josh McDaniels decided to keep rotating the offensive linemen. Josh McDaniels play calling left a lot to be desired. Few screens, draws and play action to help the poor offensive line. Daniel Carlson sent a kick off out of bounds. Chandler Jones and Clelin Ferrell were ghosts opposite of Maxx Crosby on the defensive line. Ugly: Derek Carr threw three interceptions and fumbled twice. Several sacks were on him and he left Darren Waller and Davante Adams hanging when they were wide open. Hunter Renfrow never got into the game. The Las Vegas Raiders lost and had a bunch of injuries against the Los Angeles Chargers. In Raiders news today, Anthony Averett and DJ Turner head to IR. Trevon Moehrig, Denzel Perryman, Brandon Bolden and Andre James all left the game with injury. Raiders vs Cardinals will be the home opener for Las Vegas. The Raiders are -5.5 favorites. Patrick Mahomes destroyed the Cardinals defense last week. Deandre Hopkins is still suspended and will not play. In Raiders news today, there's a good chance JJ Watt, Zach Ertz and Trayvon Mullen won't play. Kyler Murray is obviously still a dangerous double threat as a passer and runner. Mack Hollins appears to be the number three receiver behind Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow. Tyron Johnson is the Raiders speedster. NFL week one is here! The Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers open up the NFL with a rematch of the epic week 18 matchup from last season. Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa are a pair that'll need to be schemed around. Ep.117 of The Autumn Windbags. RJ, Soto and Rory recorded one day early to dissect the 53 man roster announcement, discuss Darren Waller's contract rumors and Jon Gruden coming out of the woodwork. In Las Vegas Raiders news, along with the rest of the NFL, the Raiders cut down their roster to 53 players. Head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler put together a squad that still needs some work either through NFL free agency or by trade but can play Raiders football. Raiders 2022 Defense: On the defensive line, Maxx Crosby, Chandler Jones, Johnathan Hankins and Bilal Nichols will start. The Raiders will keep five linebackers in Denzel Perryman, Jayon Brown, Divine Deablo, Darien Butler and Luke Masterson. Cornerback was a wild position. The Trayvon Mullen trade sent Trayvon Mullen to the Arizona Cardinals. Sam Webb was a dark horse to make the squad but he did. Nate Hobbs and Rock Ya-Sin will probably start. The Raiders kept basically all their safeties: Johnathan Abram, Trevon Moehrig, Roderic Teamer, Duron Harmon and Isiah Palo-Mao. Trevon Moehrig Raiders career is looking bright. Raiders 2022 Offense: Derek Carr is the starter and backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham had a really good preseason. The Raiders have six running backs: Josh Jacobs, Zamir White, Ameer Abdullah, Brandon Bolden, Brittain Brown and fullback Jakob Johnson. Kenyan Drake didn't even make it this far going to the Baltimore Ravens. The Raiders wide receiver squad is one of the best in the NFL: Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow, Mack Hollins, Tyron Johnson and DJ Turner. Each receiver has a role. Davante Adams route running is unbeatable. Tyron is the speedster. Mack Hollins is the big receiver. Darren Waller, Foster Moreau and Jesper Horsted makes up one of the best tight end rooms in the NFL. The starting lineman currently looks like Kolton Miller, John Simpson, Andre James, Lester Cotton Sr. and Thayer Munford. Jackson Barton, Dylan Parham and Jermaine Eluemunor round out the back ups. In Raiders news today, Alex Leatherwood was released by the Raiders. Alex Leatherwood draft position at number 17 overall complicates everything. Alabama's Alex Leatherwood currently goes down as one of the biggest draft busts of all time. Leatherwood draws more attention to how bad Raiders drafts has been. Did Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler fail in how they handled Alex Leatherwood? According to Josina Anderson, Darren Waller is in the middle of a new deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.
