We've been educated to believe that our mind is the center of our life experience and that everything will work out if we work hard enough in the direction our mind leads us. Still, we must find the connection to ourselves, regardless of what's happening, and allow and trust that energy of self to flow through this existence, in which we all are, despite not knowing what we are doing here. In this episode, I'm joined by the Akashic Records Teacher and Channel, Laura Coe, to discuss her awakening, parenting, her intimate relationship with arts and philosophy, learn about Twin Flames, and more. Growing up in an almost atheist household, Laura always had the slight sensation that life had more to it than most people saw, felt, and experienced. After going down the philosophy route, writing a book, hosting over 150 episodes in her podcast, and selling a health tech company she built and grew with her brother, that slight sensation became an unavoidable truth. Laura knew she had to stop following her mind and unravel the path to her soul. She met her Twin Flame, who introduced her to the Akashic Records, and the rest is history. Throughout our conversation, Laura talks about her upbringing, her idea to become a Philosophy professor, and her relentless desire for connection with her soul, which led her to write "Emotional Obesity" and Host the super-successful podcast "The Art of Authenticity." Laura also explains what the Akashic Records are, how to access them, and why she believes all of us can learn how to do Akashic readings.Additionally, Laura shares her thoughts on parenting, explains Twin Flames, talks about the three books she channeled, and much more. An Akashic record is believed to be this energetic space that holds your soul's history. If you think of western Christianity and Judaism, they call it the book of life. In Eastern traditions, they call it Akasha Primary Substance but it's this idea that every single thing that you have ever done in the history of your soul's life, not this incarnation, has been recorded and stored somewhere." - Laura Coe Wellness + Wisdom Episode 451 Akashic Records Reader, Author of The Nature of Series, and Founder of The Little Soul School, Laura Coe, returns to share the truth behind the Akashic Records, how to unlock your potential in our 3D world, as well as the concepts of soul splitting, twin flames, and soulmates. What are the Akashic Records and how can they help you better understand your next path in life? Find out how Laura helps people better understand themselves, their soul contracts, and their dharma. Their 100% Grass Fed Beef Sticks are unlike anything else on the market. In fact, they were recently voted in Paleo Magazine as one of the top snacks of the year. The reason is that they are committed to making the highest quality, clean products that are free from problematic ingredients. Their beef comes from 100% grass fed cows raised entirely on natural grass pastures by family farmers right here in the USA. As a result they are healthy and happy. PaleoValley's Pasture-Raised Turkey Sticks Paleovalley Pasture-Raised Turkey Sticks were created to make healthy snacking easier. Their turkey sticks are made from turkeys who are allowed to live as nature intended... on organic grass pastures with plenty of sunshine, fresh air and room to exercise. The result of raising turkeys in such a natural way is a much healthier, clean protein with higher levels of vitamins, minerals, and omega-3s. Unfortunately, virtually all turkey in the USA is conventionally raised with a small portion being "free range" – a virtually meaningless term that simply means the turkeys were allowed access to the outdoors. However, most "free range" turkeys only have access to an outdoor dirt field with no pasture in sight. Their truly pasture-raised turkeys are given full access to outdoor, pesticide-free pasture with plenty of grass and insects for them to nibble on. The teachings the Akashic Records give people; especially if they want to know their purpose i.e. unlock themselves further. Her belief and understanding that our souls split at inception and that is what creates our twin flame. Why she doesn't necessarily see this as a harsh split but more a desire from our soul to live through the body. Breaking down how the soul is ever-present and always aware of what is happening around us. How the energy of our past lifetimes can have an impact on our soul experience. Why people can be so drawn to dark energy that they find themselves stuck there rather than being in the light. The fact that bad emotions aren't seen as being wrong in the Akashic Records. Why experiencing bad or negative thoughts, emotions, and behavior is all part of being human. Powerful lessons that we can learn from negative and heavy human experiences such as recognizing and embracing positive ones. Why it's not important whether or not you are or were angry about something but the time difference between the experience and lack of attachment. The plan we all created for ourselves before we came into this world so we can have the experiences and lessons we wanted to experience. Why it may take a soul several lifetimes to finally experience or learn something in this world that they have set out in their contract. The fact that sometimes a soul contract isn't fulfilled and that then creates karma. Why karma isn't a bad spiritual debt, it's just owed without any negative attachment to it. Why you can have many soul mates but just one twin flame. How twin flames help mirror back not just weaknesses but strengths as well. The reverence, tools, and support necessary for twin flame relationships and why they don't often stay together long-term. How the healing for a twin flame might continue down the line for 3 or more lifetimes even. Laura's relationship with her twin flame and why she's become 10x a better person because of it despite how hard it is in reality. How to know if you've really met your twin flame that is helping you evolve or if you're just in a toxic relationship. What Laura is currently working on for herself right now including releasing and accepting that maybe it's okay to not know everything. Power Quotes From The Show Why We Don't Really Want Success "When we think about success and how we define that and what that looks like; it's very easy to achieve success. Just get out there and grind; don't listen to anything, work 12 hours a day, just go for it and you will get success somewhere but that's not what people want. They want a sense of fulfillment, a sense of connection to themselves, and then that is reflected in the real world. That's why people come up empty-handed when it's all done; they worked hard, they built a business, but something doesn't feel right." - Laura Coe The Healing & Struggle of Twin Flames "The idea of a twin flame is that your soul has split in half and you have one other soul that is your other half. You don't meet in lifetimes that often but when you do there is this rapid growth of learning which causes a lot of struggle because you mirror each other's deepest wounds for the other person to rapidly heal and mostly unknowingly you're mirroring. The struggle is deep and often there is a lot of breaking up, a lot of challenges, and oftentimes the relationships don't work because it's so hard to be around somebody who mirrors you to that degree. It's for your soul growth and it is for your highest good so that you can heal these things and move into the world." - Laura Coe The Difference Between Soul Mates & Twin Flames "Whereas there's one Twin Flame, there are lots of Soul Mates we can meet during our lifetimes. Soul mates are like your best friend that you have had over many lifetimes. They are these souls that you reincarnate with a lot and there is that comfort. You meet how many people in a year in work and even just comings and goings but once in a while you meet someone who is like family to you." - Laura Coe Links From Today's Show The Little Soul School Akashic Readings with Laura Coe 243 Laura Coe: Emotional Obesity Emotional Obesity by Laura Coe Get the first three books in Laura Coe's Nature of series: The Nature of Love, The Nature of Self-Love, and The Nature of Boundaries. Longtime listeners will remember Laura from episodes 192 and 209, over two years ago. Her book, Emotional Obesity, made a big effect on me, as did her warmth and move from success in tech entrepreneurship to her podcast, The Art of Authenticity. She pursued authenticity in herself and her coaching clients. We became friends and kept in touch since. She's continued exploring, where it led. As you'll hear in this episode she shared with me where it's led, which she's sharing in three new books, The Nature of Love, The Nature of Self Love, and The Nature of Boundaries. In them she explores and shares about an energy field called Akasha and its access to otherwise unseen wisdom and more.I'd never heard of Akasha either. As you'll hear, Laura acknowledges her current work lies out of the mainstream and said I didn't have to bring her on if I didn't want. Of course, I'm bringing a longtime guest and friend back. From my perspective, trying to view everyone's perception of the supernatural with an open mind, I'm as curious about her views and perspective as someone's about a mainstream religion. As you'll hear, she shared her teaching with me before this episode and I valued that experience.I'm glad she shared her work with me and I'm happy to share it with you. Today we're talking with Laura Coe, successful author, coach, and podcast host. Laura was the co-founder and COO of a health focused company, Litholink, before it was acquired by Lab Corp. Going from a philosophy student to working for her father's lab business is not how she saw her life going, but she says it's been an impactful ride. Going from a company of 50 people to a company with thousands of employees was quite the culture shock for Laura, but she says she's happy to see their technology helping so many people. The hardest part of her acquisition journey was in walking away from a company that she had worked so hard to create. This led her to her next endeavor, which was in rediscovering herself and what made her authentic. Since selling Litholink, Laura has gone on to write multiple books about authenticity, as well as hosting a podcast called The Art of Authenticity. The Family Business Laura was an undergrad in Philosophy and thought she would become a professor. She ended up realizing that she hated academia and left before completing her degree. At the age of 24 she realized she didn't have a plan B, so she went back home to rediscover herself. Her father didn't like her being idle and insisted that she come to work with him. Her father was investing hundreds of thousands of his personal money to get his life's workout into the world. He had his own lab where he sold testing that helped patients to understand why they were developing kidney stones so that they could stop it. Together, they ended up building an incredible system that was helping thousands of patients. They took this model and replicated it for other diseases as well. They found themselves operating in every state in the country. The Never-Ending Acquisition As the landscape of the lab industry was shifting, they noticed that LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics were buying up all the lab companies. Laura says they had a couple of internal talks about selling, but never followed through. When she was set to have a baby, Laura decided she would take a year off. That didn't end up happening, however, as they got a call from LabCorp about purchasing them. Laura ended up working harder than ever as the acquisition went on and on. She thought if they could just get through the acquisition, things would slow down, but she found that she couldn't have been more wrong. Transitioning from a family run, 50-employee business to one as large as LabCorp was an intimidating task and one that had its share of growing pains. She ended up staying on as the VP, with the rest of the team staying on as well. Where To Learn More Laura has done a lot of work around how to build the life you love. Her first book, Emotional Obesity, is about what weighs us down and keeps us from being our authentic selves. She also hosts a podcast called The Art Of Authenticity. She's currently working on a series of 15 books called The Nature Of series. The first 3 books of that series, The Nature of Love, The Nature of Self Love, and The Nature of Boundaries, are all currently available. Sarah faced several challenges growing up which she says had a snowball effect on her emotional wellbeing. Feeling unseen in her pain, she attempted to end her life at an age that most of us would see as only the beginning. She was obviously in a very dark and hopeless place but after she survived her attempt, she vowed to never leave herself in that space again. Sarah took responsibility for her healing and has become passionate about how we can access what we need for healing through the mind-body connection. She talks with us about the various reasons why we may make poor decisions for ourselves and how productively feeling our feelings is actually a learned skill. It isn't something you can measure on a scale. It's the invisible strength you show up with when faced with the pressures, stresses, and challenges that come your way. Most of people take this strength for granted. They expect it be there without having to put in the reps like they do at the gym. They don't incorporate emotional fitness into their lives and because of this they end up carrying the weight of their emotions around with them. So much of the focus in the field of mental health is on treating mental health. In this episode, you'll learn how you can create and condition your emotional health and release the mental weight that's been holding you back in life.

I've known Laura Coe for over 20 years, but we hadn't really connected since our 20s before she reached out to me a couple of years ago. It was initially for some advice, but Laura actually ended up catalyzing some huge shifts in my life — a wonderful conversation on her show The Art of Authenticity (https://lauracoe.com/cal-callihan/) helped me realize I love making podcasts and her support as a coach helped me overcome the self-doubt I was struggling with as I tried to uplevel my life and unlearn the programming that was holding me back. Laura is also the author of Emotional Obesity: A Philosophical Guide to Lighten Your Life (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QXXFUKS) and, as both as an author and as a coach, she helps others understand esoteric philosophical ideas and ancient wisdom so that they anyone can apply these important (but often linguistically obscure) lessons to their own lives. One of the ancient tools she uses is the Akashic records and, if you haven't heard of this before, you're in for a treat in this episode — it's fascinating, and it ties into why Laura reached out to me in the first place. When the business Laura Coe created sold to a Fortune 500 company, Laura took the path less often taken, leaving corporate America to pursue her lifelong passions of philosophy, coaching and spirituality. She wrote her first book, Emotional Obesity and started the popular podcast, The Art of Authenticity. In today's episode, Laura takes us through her journey, sharing how she knew it was time to leave and what life was like for her on the other side.
Laura and I go back a few years, from being on her podcast. We talk about her concept of emotional obesity: a parallel between physical health and emotional health. I find it a rich analogy on many levels. Characteristics of addiction to food that cause obesity resemble thoughts that cause emotional obesity. She describes her concept in more detail, but I find most helpful about it that it enables you to make yourself emotionally healthy in the ways you make yourself physically healthy. You'll note the parallels in problem and solution as she describes it.Think of thoughts you kick yourself with. If your friend said those things you'd leave that friend. Yet we keep doing it, unable to see that we can stop it.Dwelling in unproductive thoughts and blame doesn't help.We expand it to environmental obesity, where we look at addictive environmental behaviors, another approach that helps understand and solve behaviors we don't like. "People have this idea that having emotions means there's something wrong with them. There's nothing wrong with us; it's just how we're designed as humans. Accept, examine, and then let your feelings go." - @laurascoe on @WellnessForce Radio episode 243 wellnessforce.com/243 Click here to get your copy of Emotional Obesity by Laura Coe Every year, we spend millions of dollars on healthcare and beauty systems. Our days begin with teeth brushing, hair combing, and perhaps even exercise. Even if there are still many who need persuading or incentivizing towards participating in such routines, there is a general consensus that these self-care rituals are good for us. But when it comes to our emotional health, we are taught from a young age to “get over” our feelings, and yet, in reality, most of us just stockpile them, carrying their weight throughout life. Even though we are not conscious of them, the feelings are weighing us down from the life we want to live. The messages they create—of not being good enough, not worthy, undeserving–become the guiding principles of our lives. Our goal is to become aware of our feelings. Then subscribe to the habit of daily rituals for our emotional health, just as we have for our physical health. By doing this we can free ourselves from the destructive and unresolved feelings of the unconscious mind and begin to direct our lives from our authentic self where our true passions and desires reside. Listen To Episode 243 As Laura Coe Uncovers: What society says about both men and women sharing their emotions plus what we can do to change that narrative. How emotional obesity is keeping us from living an authentic life that we live. What factors are piling on the stress and negative emotions we're experiencing as a society day to day in the USA. Why people feel like they're going crazy when they're just experiencing natural, human feelings. Emotional fitness and her guided exercise to help you grow your emotional strength. The moment she started her own emotional wellness journey after she sold her healthcare company and began seeking for something more authentic. Why success is path but purpose and fulfillment are so much more meaningful to us. First steps you can take to really get an inventory of what you're feeling and how to digest those emotions to find your purpose. How she helps people find and confront the fears that are holding them back from discovering their purpose. How to start being honest and authentic with yourself by asking simple questions like, "What do I really want? Do I want tea or coffee right now?" Anger and shame - how they let us know that something has triggered us so that we can learn more about why it bothered us so much. Emotional weight loss and how you can be more present with your body through this process. How to let your truth unfold and let go of the fear of change. Why your gut feelings might actually be a false sense that's keeping you from listening to your authentic self. How she listened to her own authentic self that warned her against doing business with a specific agent for her book because he wasn't right for her. Why your authentic self is presented to the world based on the choices you make every day. Why you don't have to rush into action but can go at your own pace and be genuine with each step you make. How we can let technology not get in the way of our health by being aware of how we use and interact with it. Power Quotes From The Show "Don't let emotions weigh you down. Instead, you have to get curious about yourself and accept that there's nothing right or wrong about feelings; they're just they're interesting pieces information." - @laurascoe on @WellnessForce Radio episode 243 wellnessforce.com/243 "We're aware of the impact that food has on our body but when it comes to our thoughts, we don't really consider how they impact our lives. What do you feel when you think of your outlook and perspective of the world, life, and yourself? Do they weigh you down? How can we get to a place where our thoughts don't feel heavy but instead we feel light, free, and content?" - Laura Coe "There's a tipping point where we become overly focused on the external world, people and their thoughts, other's approvals, and even our own thoughts. That's when we lose touch with that deep connection with our authentic self. These barriers of thoughts, knowledge, and focus on the outside world block us from focusing on ourselves and our internal compass and inner truth." - Laura Coe "This idea that the feelings we're having are somehow right or wrong is false. People often think having emotions means there's something wrong with them when what we feel is completely normal. Then, they feel amazed that they actually have all these emotions they're feeling. So, with each strong emotion, find out what triggered that reaction within you so you can grow, learn, and make a decision of what to do with that emotion." - Laura Coe "Some people don't know where to start at all with what they want to do with their lives. If that's you, it's a process to get there but it's not that difficult. It's really just learning what your unique talents are, what you feel uplifted towards, and then starting to pursue those things more and finding what feels more like play and enjoyment again to you in life." - Laura Coe "If I'm feeling angry about something while another person isn't, that's an inner energy that somehow was triggered in me. In moments like that, we want to start asking ourselves what's happening within us and get very curious about ourselves. To get curious about yourself, you have to be able to accept that there's nothing right or wrong about these emotional states; they're just happening and they're interesting pieces of information." - Laura Coe Links From Today's Show Laura Coe Facebook Twitter LinkedIn YouTube Emotional Obesity by Laura Coe The Art of Authenticity Podcast One on One Coaching with Laura Coe Figure out your emotional weight How To Conquer Fear: An Emotional Workout How To Have A Life Of Purpose The Value of Daily Emotional Workouts Do You Suffer From Emotional Obesity? 5 Essential Steps To A Cure Marianne Williamson Gary Vaynerchuk Tony Robbins WFR 223 Dr. Ruscio About Laura Coe Laura co-founded Litholink Corporation, a healthcare company serving over 350,000 patients per month nationally. I enjoyed this conversation with today's guest, Laura Coe so much. We talked about some really practical things and laughed a lot at ourselves and how humans behave in today's interesting world. We explored how in every moment there's an infinite number of ways to interpret what happens and reclaiming the word "authenticity" which is both overused and misused in our content-heavy society. And we dove into some "big" topics like existentialism, self-regulation, and how suffering happens when we try to hold onto pleasure and push pain away. It's a very illuminating discussion, can't wait to hear what you get out of it! xo, E About Laura Coe: Laura co-founded Litholink Corporation, a healthcare company serving over 350,000 patients per month nationally. After building and selling a multi-million dollar healthcare company, Laura Coe had an epiphany. She realized that success without fulfillment is nothing. But how do we achieve fulfillment? How do we feel a sense of purpose when on the surface we're doing everything right? Her answer: authenticity. Step one was to revisit her passion for philosophy and she started taking action based on what ancient philosophers had noted about passion and purpose. Now, she takes those ideas and through her coaching, her podcast The Art of Authenticity, and her writing she is able to help others to do the same. Laura's hope is that everyone can uncover their truth and build a life that is successful and truly meaningful. Her book, Emotional Obesity, is a guide to shedding the unnecessary thoughts and patterns that add dead weight and keep us from living a joyous life. Our culture is emotionally obese. We are unhappy, we are unfulfilled, we are resentful, and we harbor the emotional issues - from childhood till now - that keep us from achieving our dreams. Whether we know it or not. From selling her multi-million dollar business to the Fortune 500 to writing her latest book, it's been a journey for Laura Coe. Now she’s here to tell us her story and why we need to address our issues if we ever have a shot at regaining agency over our lives again. Just to allow them to have a life force of their own. I think the mindfulness practices, the ancient ideas that have been around for thousands of years, they really have figured this out.Thoughts on Breathing I teach pranayama to my coaching clients sometimes. We breathe at the top of our chest. When I learned from my yoga teacher that our lungs are actually around our whole rib cage, and in your back. Breathing is one of the most incredible experiences. To take a deep breath, all the way from the base of your belly, all the way through your chest, into your back. It can get rid of so much emotional stress, it’s amazing.Suggested Resources Book: Emotional Obesity: A Philosophical Guide to Lighten Your Life by Laura Coe Book: Start Where You Are by Pema ChodronApp: HeadspaceApp: 10%HappierAdvice for Newbie The most important thing I can say is, let go of these ideas that you find on the internet that you have to go to India on a mountaintop or check yourself into some kind of month long program. Today's guest is an author, blogger and certified life coach whose mission is to help people shed the emotional weight keeping them from finding fulfillment. Laura Coe founded Emotional Obesity after undergoing her own struggle. At 35 years old, Laura had everything one could want according to society - she had a high-powered career, beautiful home and car, healthy bank account, loving spouse, a child and great group of friends. It was in this moment that Laura realized she was "Emotionally Obese" after suffering a build-up of pressure to conform to society's narrow definition of success. Laura quit her job and looked into opening a yoga studio but found that practicing yoga and running a studio were two totally different endeavors. Laura then returned to her first passion, studying philosophy to help find an answer to her problems. In taking up studying philosophy again, Laura realized that since the dawn of time, philosophers of the East and West have spoken about the importance of health and emotional well-being. It was then that Laura's personal journey, her study of philosophy and development of an effective emotional health and fitness plan became Emotional Obesity.
