Today we will be discussing the concept of Key Performance Indices (KPIs) and their importance in measuring success. A KPI is essentially a measurable value that shows the progress towards a specific goal. For instance, weight is a common KPI for many people. However, the challenge with this type of KPI is that it is a lagging indicator, meaning it only tells us what has already happened, not what is going to happen. In a business setting, it is more valuable to use leading indicators, which are KPIs that predict future outcomes, in order to make adjustments and achieve our goals. For example, as a solo entrepreneur, we may be most concerned with the amount of money our business makes, whether it be revenue or profit. However, once January is over and we know how much money we made, it is too late to make adjustments to achieve our goal of growing our business in 2023. That's why we need to be measuring things that are related to actually achieving the goal, not only measuring whether or not we achieved the goal after the fact. One example of a leading indicator in a business setting could be using affiliate marketing as a way to predict and potentially achieve a goal. By closely monitoring the progress and success of our affiliate marketing efforts, we can make informed decisions on how to adjust and improve in order to reach our desired outcome. In conclusion, leading indicators are crucial for predicting and achieving business goals. We hope you found this information valuable, and encourage you to look into more resources on KPIs and leading indicators to take your business to the next level.

If you're resistant to having business goals or knowing your “numbers” because it's too stuffy or “not you”, I totally get it, but is it really how we should view our business as Christians? In this episode, I'm going to talk about a different way to look at business that might just influence how you see business goals. With all of the reflections looking at 2022 and then looking ahead into 2023 and planning, there are a lot of different ways to go about this. Some people are super casual about it, like writing down the top 5 wins and then others are super methodical and detailed like calculating all of the profit and loss and running all of their “numbers” for their business. At first, this made me cringe because I have no interest in being “that” kind of business. But then, God gave me a different perspective shift that I want to share with you today. In this episode, you'll learn the 3 Biblical truths that will shift how you see business goals (and your business). I hope you're encouraged by this episode and that you continue shifting your mindset toward Jesus so you can do all that He is calling you to do. Need clarity on what to do next? As the new year approaches, many business owners and professionals are looking to set goals for the upcoming year. Whether you're looking to grow your business, increase profits, or simply improve efficiency, setting goals can help you stay focused and motivated throughout the year. But how do you go about setting goals that are both achievable and challenging? One effective method is to use the SMART acronym, which stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. A specific goal is one that is clearly defined and easy to understand. For example, "increase profits by 10% in the next six months" is a specific goal, while "improve profits" is not. Measurable goals have a clear way to track progress. In the example above, the goal is to increase profits by 10%, which can be easily measured by comparing profits at the start and end of the six-month period. Achievable goals are those that are realistic given your current resources and circumstances. If you don't have the necessary staff or equipment to achieve your goal, it may not be realistic. Relevant goals are those that align with your overall business objectives. If your goal doesn't contribute to the overall success of your business, it may not be worth pursuing. Finally, time-bound goals have a specific deadline for completion. This helps to create a sense of urgency and ensures that you stay on track. Once you've identified your goals, it's important to create a plan for achieving them. This may involve breaking your goals down into smaller, more manageable tasks, setting deadlines, and identifying any resources or support you may need. It's also important to be flexible and open to adjusting your goals if circumstances change. Life and business are unpredictable, and it's okay to reassess and make adjustments as needed. Finally, don't forget to celebrate your successes along the way. Achieving your goals is an accomplishment, and recognizing your progress can help keep you motivated. In conclusion, setting new year, new goals for your business can help you stay focused and motivated throughout the year. By using the SMART acronym and creating a plan for achieving your goals, you can increase your chances of success and make meaningful progress toward your business objectives.

Annamarie's daughter, Eve, was born with a critical congential heart defect (CCHD) that presented no symptoms. By chance, the doctor screened her while still in the hospital and it ended up saving her life. That experience inspired Annamarie to create the Newborn Foundation, which focused on making initial CCHD screening (pulse oximetry) a standard of care in the United States. Further, she developed a medical device company called Bloom Standard that offers ultra sound screening (the second step of confirming CCHD) in remote locations around the globe. In this episode, Annamarie shares about the life-saving experience with Eve, how that inspired her to change public health policy, and her on-going passion for improving health care for children around the world.

If setting a big, audacious goal at the beginning of every year doesn't get you lit up or intimidates you, I want you to consider setting goals in a different way. If your goals are constantly revolving around other people taking action, the likelihood of you actually accomplishing those goals is way less likely to happen, because you have no ownership of those goals.Instead, make your goals you-centered, so that you know EXACTLY what you need to do to make your goals happen, and you can measure the effectiveness of the action you take to accomplish those goals. So in this episode of the 6-Figure Secrets Podcast I'm diving into:The difference between a goal that is focused on other people taking action, and one that focuses on you taking actionWhy actively doing more to hit your goal, isn't necessarily a good idea and can fast track your burn outHow to reverse engineer the activity that goes into your goal, and why adding something else into your efforts, could create different resultsRESOURCES:Find the blog post that accompanies this episode hereApply for Done-For-You Email Funnels and ConsultingCONNECT WITH ALLISON:Follow Allison on InstagramDID YOU HAVE AN 'AH-HA MOMENT' WHILE LISTENING TO THIS EPISODE?If you found value and are ready to take action from listening to this episode, head to Apple Podcasts and help us reach new audiences by giving the podcast a rating and a review.
